Transcript – Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin Takes Questions from Assembled Media

Considering that European NATO partners are urgently trying to expand the Ukraine conflict and assemble a united NATO war effort against the Russian Federation, it is worth reviewing the current position of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Vladimir Putin held a press conference on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Kyrgyzstan.  A transcript is below:

Olga Knyazeva: Today, very much attention is given to our contacts with the United States. The CIA director has reportedly visited [Moscow] to offer trilateral Russia-US-Ukraine talks.

Do you think we need any negotiation tracks now or possibly new intermediaries, including American ones?

Vladimir Putin: First, communication between our intelligence services is maintained at all times. You may have noticed that we have recently handed over to the American side an American citizen who was serving a prison term in Russia. We did that for health and humanitarian reasons. He is a simple guy, a drinker and a brawler with health problems, so we sent him home to get medical assistance.

It was my first point. Communication is and was always maintained, even in the most difficult periods of the Cold War, and even more so now. Direct contacts are also maintained between the senior officials of our intelligence services.

As for expanding the number of negotiators, we believe that negotiations, any kind of negotiations, should be primarily filled with concrete content. If anyone is making or can make a practical contribution to this process, we are all for it.

The only thing we would like to avoid is to carry on a senseless process. If anyone can make a positive contribution to this negotiating process, which has been frozen to some extent, as we see this, we would not be against this. But this requires the involvement of specialists, the military and diplomats, of course.

On the other hand, we are quite comfortable with working with those who we know well and generally trust. These people are close to President Trump. In my opinion, they are sincere people who try to add practical content to our efforts. And President [Trump] trusts them, which is very important and without which no negotiations are possible. The thing is that everything is pointless if these people coordinate some issues with us but their top leader reviews the arrangements they make and divides them by a thousand or more. As far as we can see, he trusts them. That is why Mr Kushner and Mr Witkoff are always welcome here, and we enjoy working with them.

Viktor Sineok:  Russian troops are currently advancing towards Kramatorsk and Slavyansk, and strikes on Ukrainian military facilities are ongoing. Has the turning point in this conflict already been reached, and will the enemy, as the saying goes, begin to crumble? Or does that moment still lie ahead? And what is the present situation at the front, and how do you assess it?

Vladimir Putin: I have no doubt whatsoever that the enemy will, indeed, crumble. Matters of precise timing are always exceedingly complex, and these are precisely the questions to which it is best not to attempt definitive answers – neither in respect of timing nor of any other specifics. For war is an enterprise that is harsh and difficult to predict.

Nevertheless, questions of the sort you have just raised invariably arise at every meeting with media representatives. That is why, before entering this hall, I proceeded to my office upstairs and have just spoken directly with the Chief of the General Staff. I would note, however, that the information I receive is sourced from a wide array of channels, from virtually all command bodies of the special services and our agencies which, in one manner or another, are engaged in the special military operation. Accordingly, the picture – at least as it appears to me – is fairly objective. I have just received the latest reports from him [Valery Gerasimov] and from other colleagues.

I would like to add, of course, that hostilities always involve casualties, which is sad and it is always a tragedy and faces us with new challenges, especially at this time of rapid scientific and technological development.

The biggest challenge is posed by unmanned vehicles, which operate in all spheres – underwater, on sea, land and in the air. This is a serious challenge to us, but we are coping with it. I am confident that all tasks in this sphere will be fulfilled. I have no doubt whatsoever about this. I can conclude this from the speed our defence enterprises have accumulated.

But there is more to it. You know, I was pleased with my meetings with representatives of small and medium-sized businesses and our nascent engineering schools. The average age of their engineering professionals is 35 years. I have recently held such a meeting and I was really pleased and impressed by this fact. We may be lagging behind or moving ahead of the enemy in some spheres, but we will certainly overcome all challenges and fulfil all our tasks.

But the main thing I would like to say in reply to your question is this. Despite all challenges, Russian forces are accelerating their offensive in the zone of the special military operation. They are not simply advancing but accelerating their movement.

The liberation of the Donetsk People’s Republic is proceeding as planned. I would like to note that in August alone we assumed control over 270 square kilometres of the republic’s territory and 15 localities. Here are the details.

The units of the South Group of Forces are confidently, I repeat, confidently advancing, overcoming the defence lines and engineering fortifications of the enemy, advancing… (Addressing Viktor Sineok) You have said “charging ahead.” Well, they may not exactly be charging ahead, but they do move unhurriedly in a high drone threat environment, advancing towards the eastern suburbs of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk and the southern suburbs of Druzhkovka, which are between 1.5 and 4 kilometres away in different sections of the frontline. Moreover, they are approaching Druzhkovka from several directions, bypassing it in the south and approaching it from the east.

Troops from the Centre group are advancing on several key axes simultaneously and are now engaged in street-by-street fighting to take the city of Dobropolye. This is a major, heavily fortified logistics hub, with both permanent and semi-permanent defensive structures in place. I will not tempt fate by predicting the outcome, but I am confident the result will come.

Forces from the West group – I am not sure whether this has been reported in the media – have encircled a large enemy contingent on the eastern bank of the Krasnooskol Reservoir, near the village of Peski-Radkovskiye, and have begun to neutralise it. Thirteen Ukrainian armed forces battalions, totalling around 5,000 troops, are trapped in the pocket. This happened recently, and I do not know whether the Ministry of Defence has issued any statement or has been able to confirm it. The figure is probably somewhere around 4,500 to 4,800 troops – roughly that number. Moreover, this encirclement has been physically sealed. That is to say, not just under fire control, but physically complete – we have them fully surrounded and are now tightening the ring.

The offensive in the Zaporozhye Region is also proceeding actively. Units and formations of the Vostok and Dnepr groups are pushing forward on a broad front towards Zaporozhye. They liberated nine communities in August, and fighting is now underway in the central districts of Orekhov. The troops there are operating calmly, but with great confidence.

The North group of forces continues to establish a buffer zone along the Russian-Ukrainian border in the border areas of the Sumy Region (there are now only 12 kilometres left to Sumy itself, before the ring road) and also in the Kharkov Region. Over the past month, 14 communities have come under Russian control, including the liberation of Kazachya Lopan and, as of yesterday, the town of Svyatogorsk.

In the north-eastern part of the Kharkov Region, another enemy grouping of up to 2,000 troops has been completely encircled. The pocket formed there is substantial – 460 square kilometres – and encompasses 27 communities. Its elimination will allow the line of contact in this sector to be pushed back by at least 20 kilometres from the border areas of the Belgorod Region.

I would like to remind you that our actions were taken in response to the Kiev authorities’ provocation, namely their incursion into the Kursk Region.

We continue to target Ukrainian military facilities, industrial enterprises, and the port and logistics infrastructure that operate in the interests of the Ukrainian armed forces. As you know, we are doing this in response to the Ukrainian regime’s continued attacks on Russia’s civilian infrastructure and its fuel and energy complex, including oil refineries. I have been told that last night a large number of drones tried to get past the air defence systems of Moscow and St Petersburg, targeting civilian facilities, including oil refineries. They attempted to hit three oil refineries. Taking all this into account – the attacks on Russia and these facilities – the Russian Armed Forces were instructed to prepare and deliver mass strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities. They are targeting our facilities; we strike back. This is roughly the situation.

Alexander Yunashev: May I ask an additional question about drones?

Vladimir Putin: Yes, you may.

Alexander Yunashev: Good afternoon, Mr President.

The German authorities have stated that Russia is behind the drone incident in Leipzig, claiming that it was a Russian drone armed with explosives. However, this is a murky story. They have denounced the lease for the Russian House and want to shut down our consulate general in Berlin. At the same time, Zelensky openly threatened our air force several hours ago, saying that civilian aircraft have no place in the sky used by Ukrainian drones.

What can you say about this?

Vladimir Putin: Let’s start with the first part, about the actions of the German authorities. I believe that it mostly has to do with the internal political situation. The Chancellor’s political standing is complicated. He is not trusted by his citizens, and it is clear why – because he does not uphold but sells out national interests, and because of apparent economic missteps: enterprises are being shut down, people are losing their jobs, and living standards are plummeting. It is not clear why they did what they did. They have only one explanation: they need to stand up against “aggressive Russia.” You want proof? Here you are; they have planted it.

I would like to remind everyone that some time ago – several months or even a year ago – the German authorities accused Russia of blowing up the Nord Stream pipeline. I was really surprised that they came up with such a strange idea because we were interested in selling gas to Europe. We would be ready to provide gas today too. They only need to press the button, to make the decision to do it. But they don’t have the stomach for this, because of the US sanctions and everything else.

Good, but now they need to explain the reasons behind their actions. Considering the falling ratings and the upcoming elections, including in Saxony, this puts the political future of the German ruling circles in question. I believe that this is the explanation. I think that this is yet another blunder, and that it runs contrary to the interests of the German people.

What was the other part of your question, about a statement?

Alexander Yunashev: Zelensky has said that the skies are unsafe for civilian airlines. Is this a threat?

Vladimir Putin: I have not heard such statements, but if he did say this publicly, this sounds like a claim to state terrorism. I would like to note that they are asking us to resume talks and hold personal meetings. We don’t negotiate with terrorists. This is the first point.

Now, about the second part of your question. If, God forbid, such tragedies happen, we will provide a reply, let no one be in any doubt about this.

Gleb Ivanov: Mr President, you have recently signed an executive order authorising the Government to place critical infrastructure facilities under temporary administration if their security is not ensured. Could you elaborate on this executive order? First, in what cases do you intend to implement this, and second, could this lead to the nationalisation of these assets, turning them into state property?

Thank you.

Vladimir Putin: Of course not. What are you talking about? This is not a matter of nationalising anything – do not even think about it. There was never any such intention behind this move. Nationalisation is not an option. What compelled us to do this was quite straightforward. There is a saying, you know, that a man will not lock the barn door until after the horse is stolen. The adversary has started targeting civilian sites, including oil refineries. Did the adversary succeed in inflicting damage? It did. But why? Among other factors, and primarily because they were not protected. Unfortunately, our companies – I have had many face-to-face and collective meetings with them – these companies have been saying: “This is a matter for the law enforcement agencies, the army, etc. to handle.” But once we discussed this, they understood that they also had to be part of this effort.

Let me assure you… I said that there were attempts to target three oil refineries this night alone. These attempts failed. Why? Because these facilities were already protected. This does not mean that no strikes will ever get through. It might happen every now and then, but this elevates the protection to a whole new level. We have yet to complete repairs at just 10 percent of our oil refineries, so there is no way we can afford to have those of them that were repaired suffer from any strikes.

Therefore, we must all work together. This executive order is designed to achieve just that: to enable public administrations on the ground, including in municipalities, cities, regions and republics of the Russian Federation, as well as law enforcement agencies, and the Defence Ministry to work together to defend critical sites. This is all there is to it in terms of the purpose of this executive order. And it works, you know.

Of course, everything is possible, and there is always a possibility that something penetrates these defences somewhere, since the defences are not always effective. That said, this is the purpose of this executive order. And we can see that it works. (MORE)

Canada Is Drowning in the Sea of China

Canada is drowning in the Sea of China. The USA is the rescue swimmer.  When we reach the victim they thrash, try to climb on our back and pull us under. Survival for both now requires us to punch them in the face, back away and ask them if they prefer to drown. If not, listen to instructions.

The USMCA or CUSMA needs to be terminated!  That’s the punch in the nose.

Then a bilateral trade agreement can be negotiated.  That’s the swimmer giving the victim instructions.

If Canada chooses to drown in the Sea of China, so be it.

Then we build a regulatory wall against all Canadian products, banning the entry of Chinese component parts in EVERYTHING!

From His Own Lips Canadian PM Mark Carney Explains the Four Issues He Used to Break a U.S-Canada Trade Discussion

Within 12 hours of the Friday announcement that Canada had walked away from trade discussions with the U.S, we were able to piece together what the four points were.  Several people disagreed and claimed something else was involved.  Today, Prime Minister Mark Carney affirmed specifically the accuracy of those four points.

While Prime Minister Carney used his verbose gaslighting to describe them, you can listen for yourself.  It boiled down to four issues: [1] U.S. streaming services writing code for “search engines” in the French language (cultural issue). [2] The U.S. having a right to reject a trade deal made by Canada with a non-market economy, ie. CHINA. [3] Removal of tariffs on Canadian assembled heavy trucks, semi-trucks and industrial trucks (not in the auto sector). [4] Canada demanding 5% of gross revenues from U.S. tech platforms, with an attitude that U.S. controls North American trade.

The United States must, as a matter of U.S. national security and survival, immediately cut all trade ties with Canada completely.  I’ll explain why this is so critical and important.

The most appropriate metaphor is the drowning victim (Canada) with an intentionally placed anchor on its foot (China), now becoming a threat to the rescue swimmer (USA).   If we don’t cut ties, we risk our own livelihood.

Here’s the four counterpoints:

♦The Stupid French Language thing.  The French language stuff was an ancillary aspect where the Canadian Cultural Police were demanding that all U.S. streaming platforms (YouTube, Netflix etc.) must have search engines using the French language so Canadian users can search for stuff to watch using the French language. A ridiculous issue that was not part of the trade discussion, but Mark Carney saw political value in blowing up the issue.

This is really stupid, because when you buy your hardware (TV, Phone, Computer etc.) it asks you what language or country during set up. If you live in France, you put France. The operating system does the rest. We don’t code search engines for French in FRANCE because the OS does it! But Canada was requiring U.S. tech companies (streaming services) to install search features in French [I guess so they can set up the OS in English but get some ancillary feature.] It was a stupid “side paper” in the Intellectual Property sector of the trade discussion.

♦U.S. Right to Limit Canadian Trade Deals.  This point is exponentially ridiculous for Canada to be upset about because the current USMCA/CUSMA already has that clause.  The U.S (or Mexico) can exit the USMCA if Canada enters into a trade agreement with a “non-market” economy, ie China. [USMCA Sec 32:10]

Canada was already in violation of the USMCA/CUSMA when they entered into a trade agreement with China and agreed to import Chinese EVs.  This action triggered the U.S. to become more focused on the stuff Canada was going to import; hence, the renewed emphasis on the clause.

This is critical.  It’s not an ancillary issue. The Carney administration had requested “Fortress North America” a synergetic alignment of U.S-Canada trade principles.  Canada claimed they wanted a united North American continent against the world on trade.  Therefore, this talk of Canada being upset about joint collaboration and agreement on trade agreements with third countries, a point brought up repeatedly by Carney just doesn’t make sense.

If Canada wanted to join a united trade policy for North America, where each nation is anchored to the $31 trillion U.S. market, then each nation in North America must hold the same baseline trade agreement with third parties, other nations.  Those were previously agreed principles; until all of a sudden Canada accused the U.S. of dictating terms and violating its sovereignty.

♦U.S. tariffs on Canadian “heavy use trucks”.  This is not the “auto sector” despite Canada trying to make heavy duty trucks part of it.  These tariffs are on industrial trucks, farm equipment, heavy trucks and semi-trucks. The U.S. said no, these are not autos and auto tariffs do not apply.

The reason is simple.  Tractors, heavy industrial trucks, big rigs assembled/built in Canada are compromised when built in Canada.  Why? Because they are full of cheap Chinese component goods and parts that wear out quickly.  The U.S. wants two things on this issue. Either: (1) Make heavy industrial trucks in the USA, or (2) stop using cheap Chinese component parts.  Failing to do so retains tariffs.

The parts that Canada are using are not even available in the USA because we tariff and reject them, so why should we accept them when Canada installs them?  Either quit using Chinese parts (hence, the trade alignment against Chinese imports) or accept a tariff equal to the rate we would apply if the product was coming directly from China.  This is the USA approach to that specific sector of heavy trucks.

SUMMARY:  Yes, the United States dictates the terms for North American trade, because the United States is the overwhelming center of North American trade and consumer spending.  The USA is the market, and Canada has an entire economy about the size of Texas.   It is ridiculous to contemplate that the Canadian government can dictate terms against the U.S. economy, and we have no option other than to adhere to them out of some demanded politeness.

Enough already.  Announce the termination of the USMCA.

  1. Build a North American fortress.
  2. Secure the Western Hemisphere.
  3. Exit NATO.
  4. Respectfully engage with each bilateral interest as a sovereign nation.

Miami Doctor Who Promotes “Have Your Baby in Miami” Birthright Citizenship Scheme Pleads Fifth to Congress

Representatives on the House Oversight Committee Task Force on Protecting Constitutional Rights and Exposing Institutional Abuses, held a hearing today on the subject of Birthright Citizenship and immigration fraud [hearing below].

The committee subpoenaed Dr. Wladimir Lorentz, the owner and founder of Miami Medical Concierge Services, following his refusal to testify. The committee intended to ask questions about the company’s role in arranging births for foreign nationals. Following the subpoena, Dr Lorentz invoked the Fifth Amendment to every question, citing a pending federal investigation into his business, also known as “Have My Baby in Miami.” WATCH (prompted):

Germany Says, “We are at war with Russia” – Zelenskyy Threatens Russian Civilian Air Travel – Will Canada Join the EU-NATO Alliance and Go to War?

There was a reason why CTH focused on the Leipzig-Halle Airport “drone attack” in Germany on August 5th. {GO DEEP}  There have been numerous indications the EU-NATO members, driven by Germany, France and the U.K. have been increasingly trying to expand the Ukraine war effort and pull in direct military engagement against Russia.

The Leipzig-Halle airport drone held all of the conspicuous indications of a false flag attack that did not stem from Russia.  The quadcopter drone was a limited range battery powered small drone carrying a rudimentary IED type explosive.  It needed to be operated and controlled by someone very close to the area, and the cargo area of the airport is a closed-loop security zone.

Nothing about the method, timing or location of the “drone attack” spoke to any value or importance for Russian interests in the Ukraine conflict. However, for expanding the war propaganda purposes the created narrative holds value.  The Leipzig-Halle drone operation was more than likely carried out by the same country who bombed the Nordstream pipeline. That was Ukraine.

Today, using the airport “drone attack” as a justification, Germany is accusing Russia of expanding a hybrid war against NATO and Germany is testing whether the full NATO alliance is willing to join them in military combat operations against Russia.  “German defense entrepreneur Stefan Thumann argued sabotage operations carried out by Moscow against his country are an “act of war … controlled and coordinated here by the Russian armed forces.” {source}

European NATO allies were quick to pick up the catchphrase “hybrid war” with statements from NATO General Secretary Mark Rutte, EU Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen, Finland President Alexander Stubb, Italian President Giorgia Meloni and many more.  Coordinated and timed to happen in unison, the EU-NATO nations now align to expand their war footing against Russia.  All of this was/is easily predictable.  This is by design.

Simultaneous with this announcement and statements from within Germany, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy now threatens all airline travel in Russia, in an obvious attempt to influence airline insurance carriers and shut down Russian civilian airspace.  However, if you have followed the pattern with us over the past several years, what should be expected next is alarming.

If the pattern of Ukraine activity following events which Ukraine outlines is continued, then the next thing we will see is a commercial airliner in Russia targeted and brought down by Ukraine drones and/or missile operations.  Zelenskyy will fall back on this warning from today as a justification for the purposeful targeting of an airline in Russia. The EU-NATO members together with the United Kingdom of Great Britain are all-in for this expanded war with Russia.  However, the key missing aspect is United States support for it, specifically from U.S. President Donald Trump.

That said, let there be no doubt these EU leaders are intent on expanding the conflict because their economies are in a shambles.  They have spent most of the stolen Russian sovereign wealth fund, they are going broke sending Ukraine money, their Green Energy policies are destroying their industrial sectors, their energy costs have skyrocketed and there is massive opposition to the Brussels collective across a broad spectrum of ordinary Europeans.  But the leadership doesn’t care.

White House Releases Details of U.S-Venezuela Oil Deal

WHITE HOUSE – SECURING STABLE & LOW-COST OIL SUPPLY IN OUR HEMISPHERE: In the biggest oil deal in world history, President Donald J. Trump has secured U.S. majority control of more than 65 billion barrels of proven oil reserves in Venezuela – vastly expanding our current U.S. territorial proven reserves of roughly 46 billion barrels. ♦ At no cost to the American taxpayer, NABEP has granted the U.S. Department of War’s Office of Strategic Capital a 35% equity stake in its corporate parent, representing up to hundreds of billions in value and dividends for the United States.

♦ NABEP has granted the U.S. Department of State the right to purchase, at production cost, a guaranteed 20% of the off-take from all current and future fields NABEP will operate—ensuring a stable supply of low-cost oil that can facilitate refilling the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), which Joe Biden depleted to historic lows, and to provide supply for military and other sensitive uses.

♦ NABEP has also granted the U.S. Department of State the right of first refusal to purchase the remaining 80% of its production, providing a guaranteed source of energy in our hemisphere in emergency situations.

♦ The U.S. government has a veto power over the appointment of any member of the board of directors, and a majority of NABEP’s board of directors must be U.S. citizens. NABEP will have reputable U.S. auditors, lawyers, and advisors and the U.S. government’s agreement with NABEP is governed by U.S. law and is subject to the jurisdiction of U.S. courts.

♦ Millions of barrels of new Venezuelan output will be processed through U.S. refineries and pumped with American rigs and infrastructure, supporting billions in investment in the United States and thousands of jobs here at home.

DRIVING ECONOMIC RECOVERY & THE RECONSTRUCTION OF VENEZUELA’S OIL SECTOR: This groundbreaking privatization and investment in Venezuela’s energy sector is a key step in the Trump Administration’s three-part plan of stabilization, reconstruction and democratic transition. Private-sector led growth in production, output, and investment in Venezuela is a key precondition to driving continued reform and democratic transition following the incredible success of Operation Absolute Resolve:

The move by China is easy to predict.  Prime Minister Mark Carney has opened the door to Chinese EVs.  It would be in Beijing’s best interest to retool and take control of closed plants to begin mass production in North America.

Chinese EV manufacturing in Canada serves two purposes.

First, they would not be limited in production to the cars that remain in Canada as part of the agreement.  Factually, China would use their Canadian footprint as an export hub into Europe and save money on current distribution.   Remember, Europe is losing their auto manufacturing base to China and Germany is laying off 100,000+ auto workers.

Second, the appearance of Chinese auto manufacturing in North America would put pressure on the United States to permit their cheap EVs to enter the market.

Today Bloomberg is reporting exactly what we predicted.  Chinese automaker BYD (Build Your Dream) is asking local officials about the currently idled Stellantis auto plant.  Things are following a very predictable timeline.

BLOOMBERG – Chinese carmaker BYD Co. inquired about taking over an idled Stellantis NV plant in the Toronto suburbs, according to a local politician, signaling possible global interest in Canadian auto hubs in the midst of a trade battle with the US.

Patrick Brown, the mayor of Brampton, Ontario, said BYD approached him about six months ago to talk about making buses at the factory. Stellantis had been retooling the plant to manufacture the Jeep Compass, but the company halted that plan last year when the US adopted a policy of tariffs on foreign autos.

Brown said he also received inquiries from Leapmotor International, a joint venture between Zhejiang Leapmotor Technology Co. and Stellantis, as well as from an Italian automaker. Bloomberg News reported in April that Stellantis was discussing options for building electric vehicles in Canada with Leapmotor.

Most of the vehicles Canada produces are exported to the US, but the trade war and the lack of a new product earmarked for the 40-year-old factory have clouded the future for thousands of people who work there. Unifor, the union representing those workers, said this month that Stellantis is considering selling the plant. (read more)

I went to Russia in 2024, because what I was hearing in western media about the sanctions did not align with what I was seeing from reports inside Russia.

Before I went into Russia, I spent several weeks in Northern and Eastern Europe visiting various institutions, reading material and checking to see how systems in Europe were engaging with commerce given the Russian sanctions.  It wasn’t very exciting work, and sometimes I literally just sat in the lobbies of banks listening to conversations.

When I went into Russia (April, May, June and July ’24) I noticed many of the “Uber cars” were BYD brand, Chinese electric vehicles.  It made sense given two years of existing sanctions and few cars from Europe or America available except under costly brokerage fees for acquisition.

The Russians like the Geely brand better, but BYDs are much cheaper.  A brand new BYD costs around $5,000 to $10,000 USD, in some places even less.

Then later I noticed even more of these BYD cars in Europe.  I started to pay attention to them and saw them everywhere.

When I went back into Russia a year later in 2025, there was a very noticeable increase in BYD cars.  It was crazy, they were everywhere.

My travels also took me to southeast Asia and again those damned BYD’s were all over the place.  In Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, these BYD’s were everywhere, maybe even 30% of total vehicle traffic at times – most certainly well over 50% of all EVs – and there are digital billboards for “Build Your Dream” (BYD) all over the place throughout Asia.

Australia is stocked full of those things, and the middle east, yup, even there too.  It became increasingly weird to notice.  So many were visible I was wondering how the heck China can mass produce and ship this many cheap EVs so fast.

Then as serendipity would have it, I ran into a Chinese guy, professionally an actuary, in a hotel restaurant.  He explained to me that China produces the BYD not to make money from the automobile, but rather to sell the carbon credits the automobile generates within the auto industry.

The actual value to Beijing is in selling the carbon credit worthiness to various automakers who are fined or penalized by their government for producing gasoline powered vehicles.

BYD is, in essence, not a car per se’, but a mechanism to generate a carbon credit certificate that can be sold to other car companies. It’s the carbon credit certificate that generates the revenue, not the sale of the vehicle.  As my dinner guest explained, the auto insurance industry was having fits about this because the actuaries couldn’t accurately put a correct figure on the cost of the insurance warrantee within the industry (that’s another story).

The bottom line is that China is manufacturing a product to create a carbon credit certificate in response to the demand for carbon credits from all the world auto-makers.  Any nation that has a penalty or fine attached to their climate goals is a customer. Those are nations with fines or quotas associated with the production of gasoline powered engines if the auto company doesn’t hit the legislated target for sales of electric vehicles.

In essence, EU/AU/CA/RU/ASEAN car companies buy Chinese car company carbon credits, to avoid the EU/AU/CA/RU/ASEAN fines.  The Chinese then use the carbon credit revenue to subsidize even lower priced Chinese EVs to the EU/AU/CA/RU/ASEAN car markets, thereby undercutting the EU/AU/CA/RU/ASEAN car companies that also produce EVs.

Big Panda brilliantly exploits the ridiculous pontificating climate scam and has an interest in perpetuating -even emphasizing- the need for the EU/AU/RU/ASEAN countries to keep pushing their climate agenda.  China even goes so far as to fund alarmism research about climate change because they are making money selling carbon credit certificates on the back end of the scam to the western fear mongers.  This is friggin’ brilliant.

My dinner buddy was in the business of identifying the cost/benefit equation between the climate change fines and the prices Big Panda could charge for the carbon credit certificates.   If, as an example, Brussels dropped the quotas for EVs, China would need to lower the price for the carbon credit certificates.  So, Beijing wants Brussels to make sure they don’t drop the quotas.  See how that works?

The climate change alarmists are helping China’s economy by pushing ever escalating fear of climate change.  You just cannot make this stuff up.

What does the outcome look like?

Well, in this example we see thousands of unsold BYDs piling up in countries that emphasize climate regulations with no restrictions on the import of EVs (which most don’t even manufacture), which is almost every country.  Big Panda doesn’t care about the car itself; they care about generating the carbon credit certificate to sell in the various carbon exchanges.

Put this context to the recent announcement by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney about his trade deal with China to accept 49,000 EVs this year.

Prime Minister Carney bragged about getting the Chinese to agree to only super low prices for the Canadian market.  Mark Carney was very proud of his accomplishment to get much lower priced vehicles for Canadian EV purchasers.   No doubt Big Panda left the room laughing as soon as Carney made his grand announcement.

1. China sells EV’s in Canada, creating credits available on the carbon exchange scheme. Europe et al will purchase the carbon credits because Bussels has fines against EU car companies.

2. With a foothold already established in Europe, China will then take the money generated by the carbon credit purchases and lower the prices of the Chinese EV cars sold in Canada.

It’s gets funnier.

3. Carney bragged about forcing China to only sell low price EV’s as part of the trade agreement. The low price of the EV’s in Canada will be subsidized by Europe. China doesn’t pay or lose a dime.

But wait….

4. Carney can’t do anything about the scheme he has just enmeshed Canada into, because Canada has a Carbon Credit exchange in law. 

Big Panda wins again.

Musk openly laughed at the mention of BYD while being interviewed on Bloomberg TV in October 2011. He said he did not see the company as a competitor to Tesla, adding: “I don’t think they have a great product.” Meanwhile, Tesla said Friday it delivered 1.64 million vehicles in 2025. [SOURCE]

Supreme Court Rule 5-4 to Eliminate Lawsuit Against White House Ballroom and National Defense Complex – Chief Justice Roberts Joined the Minority

Somehow Chief Justice John Roberts found that a single person who walks past the White House every month and doesn’t like the proposed appearance of the ballroom has some standing to sue and block construction. Go figure. Roberts also decided that the Obamacare mandate wasn’t a tax.

Roberts joined with the minority DEI judges in his position [RULING HERE]. However, the majority decision was against the woman having standing to sue. Therefore, the lawsuit was dispatched and the building can continue.

SCOTUS BLOG – […] On Monday, a divided court granted the government’s request for a stay, permitting construction to move forward while the litigation continues in the lower court. The majority’s opinion focused primarily on its conclusion that the National Trust likely does not have standing to challenge the project. The trust had submitted a declaration from Alison Hoagland, a member who lives in Washington, D.C., and said that she visits the area where the White House is located approximately once per month. Hoagland, who has “expertise in historic architecture,” claimed that the project caused “‘injuries’ to her ‘aesthetic, cultural, and historical interests’ because she finds the ‘scale,’ ‘height,’ and ‘massing’ of the government’s design distasteful.” But those are not the kind of “concrete” and specific injuries required to bring a lawsuit, the majority explained.

The majority also concluded that the government would be permanently harmed if Leon’s order were allowed to go into effect – another key criterion in determining whether to grant emergency relief. Among other things, it noted, senior government officials “attest[] that constructing something approximating the height and mass of the intended above-ground ballroom is ‘crucial’ to the security of the below-ground military installation.”

In his six-page dissent, which Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson joined, Roberts countered that “[a] historic preservationist such as Hoagland can be aesthetically injured in a concrete, particularized way by the transformation of a historic building that she frequently enjoys, just as,” based on prior court precedent, “an environmentalist can sustain a concrete, particularized aesthetic injury from the extinction of a particular animal or the transformation of a particular forest or river that he regularly enjoys.” Roberts ended the opinion by quoting Winston Churchill, who said that “[w]e shape our buildings, and afterwards our buildings shape us.” “All the more reason,” according to Roberts, “to ensure that those responsible follow the rules in deciding what to tear down and what to build up at the People’s House.” (source)

Barbara Boyd Discusses G20 Outlooks – Abundance Mindset ‘Build More Pies’ (Bessent) -vs- Scarcity Mindset ‘Divide Up Pie’ (Europe)

What Barbara Boyd describes in this video about the ideological differences in the G20 reminds me of the long battles around MAGAnomics.

One mindset is based on despair, the scarcity mentality, and says there is a limited amount of economic pie, and it must be divided by government to ensure equitable distribution (Europe/Obama).  The other mindset is based on faith, an abundance mentality, and says we should create, innovate, build and expand economic activity to create more pies (MAGA/Trump).

In this Wednesday update, Barbara Boyd previews the G20 meeting in Asheville, framing it as a clash between an agenda centered on physical economic growth—advanced by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent—and what she calls the G20/EU’s long-running Malthusian, “green” framework that followed the 2008 financial collapse, bank bailouts, and a shift toward climate policies.

The episode contrasts Trump-era priorities—domestic manufacturing, supply-chain self-sufficiency, critical minerals, energy expansion, workforce upskilling, and new nuclear plans for shipping outlined by Energy Secretary Chris Wright—with European leaders’ efforts to build a “middle powers” bloc and “redirect” citizens’ savings into EU-directed investment.
