DNI Tulsi Gabbard Resigns Position to Stand Beside Husband Cancer Battle

Consequential thoughts can be set aside for a later time. Our heart expresses deep gratitude for Mrs. Gabbard’s unwavering strength, and I am certain you will all join with me in prayer for a successful treatment, fast recovery and extended life for both of them – filled with abundance and joy.

“My rock.” It is well understood.

When cancer introduces the frozen moment of fear, it is prayer that battles the dark imaginings and faith that fuels us. There is before the moment of our knowledge, and there is everything that comes next. All else moves in a blur, we become disconnected from daily challenge.

When the body is tested, faith and prayer strengthen the soul. Our battle no longer manifests in the business of things, but rather in the spirit of our faith.  “With God,” is not something to say it is the core of how we fight; we lean into the source of all healing. Prayer connects us directly to the God of love who created every cell in our body.

In the battle against cancer, prayer is not the last resort it’s the beginning, the front line of hope and healing.

Heavenly Father, we have need for You today. Please provide Your healing power and grace upon Abraham Williams, the husband of Tulsi Gabbard.

Lord of mercy guide those who will now tend the affliction. We accept Your works through those You guide and love powerfully, completely and unconditionally. Our first, last and final healing is always found in You. We come to You today with our prayers for both Abraham and Tulsi, and we know You hear our prayers just as You understand our faith. We ask for Your comforting embrace of Abraham, Tulsi and those they love.

Father of strength, lift the heart of Tulsi Gabbard and fill her with fortitude, courage and the sense of safety. God that holds the stars, we ask for Your healing and grace to cover Abraham; every affliction; every wound; every trepidation and consequence. Thank You for Your mighty power that works through all things. We reach out to You knowing through every struggle Your glory is in command. We ask that You pull our prayers close and extend Your healing power. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio Gives Press Remarks from Sweden

Secretary of State Marco Rubio gives a press conference with the assembled press pool following NATO discussions in Helsingborg, Sweden.

The main topics of concern from the European media is the reduction of U.S. troops from NATO bases and the current status of the conflict with Iran.  Rubio notes that Sweden and Finland joining NATO was one of the few examples of the alliance benefiting from the addition of countries.  However, that said, the overall posture of NATO should proceed with an urgency on their own defense posture as the U.S. footprint is under evaluation.

At 15:25 of the video below, Secretary Rubio discusses the current status of the U.S. toward the conflict with Ukraine.  Rubio notes the Ukraine-Russia conflict will only resolve with a negotiated settlement.  WATCH:

NASCAR Driver Kyle Busch Dies Suddenly at 41

Posted originally on CTH on May 21, 2026 | Sundance

This is very shocking news within the world of motorsports.  NASCAR Driver Kyle Busch was only 41 years old and appears to have died after a brief hospitalization for a severe albeit unknown illness.

NASCAR – Kyle Busch, a generational talent who rose to become a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and one of the sport’s greatest drivers, died Thursday. He was 41.

Busch’s death, which was announced by the Busch family, NASCAR and Richard Childress Racing, marked a sudden, staggering blow to the motorsports community. His team had indicated earlier Thursday that Busch had been hospitalized with a severe illness.

Busch was in his 22nd full-time season in NASCAR’s top division, where he won two Cup Series titles (2015, 2019) and 63 races — a figure that ranks ninth on the circuit’s all-time win list. His numbers across the other two national NASCAR series are record-setting, with 102 victories in what is now called the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and 69 wins in the Craftsman Truck Series.

The Busch family, Richard Childress Racing and NASCAR made the following joint statement: “On behalf of the Busch family, everyone at Richard Childress Racing and all of NASCAR, we are devastated to announce the sudden and tragic passing of Kyle Busch.

“Our entire NASCAR family is heartbroken by the loss of Kyle Busch. A future Hall of Famer, Kyle was a rare talent, one who comes along once in a generation. He was fierce, he was passionate, he was immensely skilled and he cared deeply about the sport and fans. Throughout a career that spanned more than two decades, Kyle set records in national series wins, won championships at NASCAR’s highest level and fostered the next generation of drivers as an owner in the Truck Series. His sharp wit and competitive spirit sparked a deep emotional connection with race fans of every age, creating the proud and loyal ‘Rowdy Nation.’ Our thoughts are with Samantha, Brexton and Lennix, Kyle and Samantha’s parents, Kurt and all of Kyle’s family, Richard and Judy Childress, everyone at Richard Childress Racing, his teammates, friends and fans. NASCAR lost a giant of the sport today, far too soon.

“During this incredibly difficult time, we ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy and continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Further updates will be shared as appropriate.” (read more)

Busch’s stunning death is the second tragic loss for NASCAR in the past six months. Former Cup driver Greg Biffle died in a plane crash last December, along with his wife and two children.

UAW President Wants USMCA Scrapped, Calls it a “Free Trade Disaster”

Posted originally on CTH on May 21, 2026 | Sundance

This is not good news for Canada who appears to be hoping that leftists in congress will support the Canadian position on retention of the USMCA trade deal.  However, the position of the United Auto Workers and their President Shawn Fain works perfectly with the position of President Trump and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.

The UAW leadership supported Kamala Harris in 2024, and they carry a lot of sway with Democrats in congress.  In fact, it is entirely possible the 20 Democrat Senators who wrote a letter to USTR Greer about getting tough on Mexico and Canada, may have been responding directly to what UAW President Shawn Fain is demanding.

The UAW rank and file align with President Trump and their leadership, despite their roots of alignment with Democrats, support the trade tariff approach by President Trump.  All of that nuanced interest now begins to assemble quickly, and the political leverage plan of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney looks weaker by the day.

Wall Street Journal – As North America’s trade treaty approaches renewal or renegotiation this summer, United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain slammed the deal and called on the U.S. to upend it—or scrap it altogether.

Fain’s position pits the 400,000-member union against both the American and foreign-based automakers that are calling on the U.S. to preserve the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade treaty, or USMCA.

[…] Fain blamed USMCA and its predecessor, the North American Free Trade Agreement, for the loss of millions of American auto manufacturing jobs over the last several decades.

“Where it didn’t eliminate jobs entirely, it slashed wages and benefits,” said Fain, wearing a “Kill NAFTA” T-shirt on a video call. “There is no future for the U.S. working class that doesn’t address the free-trade disaster.”

[…] While Fain endorsed Kamala Harris for president in 2024, he has been a vocal supporter of Trump’s tariffs on foreign automobiles. He is one of the few prominent voices within the auto industry to embrace higher duties.

[…] Trump has said the levies are needed for national security, and his team has publicly considered ditching the USMCA or splitting it into two separate deals as the governments undertake a review of the agreement this year. (read more)

This is one of those interesting MAGAnomic sub-plots that is worth paying attention to.  President Trump and Jamieson Greer have repeatedly hinted they are going to formally announce the exit of the USMCA (CUSMA in Canada) trade agreement in favor of two bilateral deals.  The position of the UAW aligns with that approach.

If the UAW supports dissolving the USMCA, then suddenly Mark Carney loses his strategic plan to leverage Democrats for retention of it.

Keep in mind, Toyota has already told Canadian trade officials that if they lose the USMCA the Japanese auto giant will close manufacturing in Canada and just produce more in the USA.  Several other auto companies have put Canadian investment on hold due to the same outlook.

All in all, this is good news for those who would prefer to see two bilateral trade agreements, one with Mexico and one with Canada.  There is no reasonable way for Canada to retain their carbon trade/exchange policy and remain compliant with both U.S. and Mexico manufacturing.

Senate and House Republicans Maneuver to Block Trump’s Govt $1.776 Billion Weaponization Compensation Fund

Posted originally on CTH on May 21, 2026 | Sundance

Republicans in both the House and Senate are quickly moving to stop the DOJ/IRS settlement with President Trump that establishes a $1.776 billion victim’s compensation fund for those targeted by corrupt government conduct.

The move in the Senate is particularly Machiavellian considering they recently established a $500,000 system of penalties for government conduct after they found out the Jack Smith investigation had subpoenaed their private phone records.

Buried on page 217 of the 2025 Senate Continuing Resolution Bill [TEXT HERE], Republican Senators inserted legislation to “retroactively” pay themselves $500,000 each for every line of communication, telephone record, email or other electronic communication, subpoenaed by the Jack Smith Special Counsel during the Arctic Frost investigation.  The targeting of Republican senators was too much for the Republican Senators to bear.

Now consider:

WASHINGTON DC – Senate Republicans have canceled plans to begin voting this week on a budget reconciliation package that would provide approximately $70 billion to fund immigration enforcement operations through 2029 amid a furious disagreement within their conference over the Trump administration’s proposal to establish a $1.8 billion compensation fund for MAGA allies.

Senate Republicans emerging from a lengthy meeting with acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said they expect to leave Washington for the Memorial Day recess without voting on the budget reconciliation package that has stalled over disagreements among Republicans over how to put guardrails on the so-called anti-weaponization fund. (more)

A grandmother silently praying outside an abortion clinic encounters the full weight of the Dept of Justice and FBI costing her tens of thousands of dollars to defend herself.  Hundreds of conservatives have been targeted by a politicized and weaponized IRS.  Dozens of Trump officials were targeted, prosecuted and spent millions of dollars during their judicial defense – many going bankrupt.  Thousands of people who peacefully attended the January 6, 2021, protest were targeted by the FBI and had to hire lawyers. Thousands more received ridiculous subpoenas and investigative inquiries that required them to pay lawyers who provided legal responses.

Yet, only when the weaponization targets a Republican Senator personally does the issue warrant compensation.   Think about it.

Additionally, it was only just yesterday when President Trump pointed out to Fox News correspondent Jacqui Heinrich’s that her fiancé, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), was at risk for attention from Trump after voting against Trump all MAGA policy in Congress. Trump warned Ms. Heinrich that typically “doesn’t work out well” for conservative lawmakers.

Fitzpatrick previously voted against Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” last year, making him one of only two GOP lawmakers to do so, along with Rep.Thomas Massie (R-KY). That’s who Trump seemed to be referencing Wednesday morning when he said it doesn’t go “well” for Republicans who oppose him.

Then today:

WASHINGTON DC – A bipartisan House effort is afoot to kill the $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund created by the Justice Department that could pay allies of President Donald Trump, according to three people granted anonymity to discuss the effort ahead of a formal announcement.

Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.) and Tom Suozzi (D-N.Y.) have drafted text and are taking steps to unveil the legislation soon, the people said. (more)

The Republicans just unveiled the legislation {SEE HERE}.

This is why I have often said, “I fully support Donald Trump because the alternative is to support a republican.”

When the Tea Party surfaced in 2010, the grassroots voter base (unvoiced in DC) did not have a figurehead. So, the UniParty apparatus weaponized the DOJ, IRS and regulatory agencies to target, divide and destroy us.

When the Tea Party reassembled in 2016, the grassroots voter base (unvoiced in DC) now had Donald Trump. So, the same UniParty weaponized the DOJ, FBI and Intelligence Community to target, divide and destroy him first (Spygate, Russiagate, Impeachments etc.), until they could get back to targeting us (Arctic Frost).

The difference between the Tea Party targeting in 2010, and MAGA targeting 2016-through today, is the pesky impediment called Donald Trump.

Review the 15-year history and you will see these commonalities, including DC’s use of Main Justice and the FBI.

The McConnell-minded Republicans were happy to see the Tea Party targeted in 2011/2012. The same is true for the targeting of MAGA in later years.

This core reality is why I support President Trump; indeed, I actually cherish his fighting for us, because the alternative is reliance on our Republican abusers.

In my opinion, the strongest, most based and unflinching MAGA-minded America-First supporters, are the people who bear the visible scars from the extreme Tea Party targeting.

Those of us who went through the furnace of frustration are forged with a unique type of resolve that will never stop supporting Donald Trump.

We can see through the UniParty tricks, schemes and Machiavellian constructs, and we trust nothing.

The DC guards weaponized virtue as an attack strategy. They use our love of country against us. However, one glance at the scars and that approach doesn’t work any longer….

….. and they hate us even more because of that.

That outlook brings me to a place of thankfulness.

I think most of us here realize we have a few years with a political leader in our corner; that means advocacy for our specific interests is on a diminishing timeline.

If we, well, really, he, does not get that thing accomplished in the next three years, well, it’s unlikely to happen.  That clock ticking raises the stakes for us and makes policy issues sensitive and urgent.  This is an entirely understandable sentiment.

I fully support Donald Trump, because the alternative is dependency on a Republican.

Don’t forget to pray.

DOJ, FBI and HHS Officials Announce Federal Fraud Charges for 15 Minnesota Individuals Who Stole $90 Million – 3,300 Investigations Ongoing

Posted originally on CTH on May 21, 2026 | Sundance

USAO Colin McDonald, assistant attorney general for the DOJ’s National Fraud Enforcement Division, announced the initial fraud indictments for the first set of fraudsters operating in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  McDonald emphasized this is only the beginning of the arrests in Minnesota as the fraud is beyond a scale that can be appropriately explained.

Together with HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz, U.S Attorney McDonald announces the first 15 individuals indicted with initial investigated theft of $90 million.  The DOJ anticipates hundreds more arrests.  Secretary Kennedy notes the scale of fraud is approximately 10x more than initially evaluated.

“Let me be clear upfront about something: This is not the end of our work in Minnesota,” McDonald said. “This is the beginning of our work in Minnesota. The fraud here in Minnesota is shocking.”  McDonald then pointed to Minnesota’s housing stabilization services program, which was designed to help homeless residents find and keep housing, as one of the starkest examples. The program was initially estimated in 2020 to cost about $2.5 million per year, but ballooned to more than $104 million by 2024, which McDonald attributed entirely to fraud.

What we are seeing in this storyline is the exact reason why Barack Obama and Eric Holder selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to be Kamala Harris’ running mate.   Former AG Eric Holder was responsible for investigating all of the potential nominees to run with Harris, and all of the Minnesota fraud was well known.

Minneapolis was/is the operational epicenter of a Marxist network that sits underneath Barack Obama and extends from Chicago through Minneapolis to Madison Wisconsin.  None of this corrupt activity is a surprise to anyone who has watched how the networks operate.  Union leadership like SEIU are aligned with NGO’s a various Obama community groups and operate within these regions.

Minnesota – “The fraud is enormous,” Colin McDonald, assistant attorney general for the DOJ’s National Fraud Enforcement Division, was asked about former U.S. Attorney Joe Thompson’s estimate that fraud in Minnesota could total $9 billion across more than a dozen programs.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if that number is accurate or even small.

”But today, the collection of [15] cases reach 90 million in intended loss from the from the pockets of the taxpayer.”

McDonald stressed that prosecutors are focused first on individual defendants and specific cases, not a final statewide price tag.

“I don’t have the exact number, because what I do is I look at individual people committing individual crimes,” he continued. “And at the end of all of our work, we’ll tally it all up and we’ll tell you exactly how much was stolen from the American people.

“We’re focused on individual defendants.”

Federal officials said they are expanding the Midwest Health Care Fraud Strike Force into Minnesota and adding a new Medicaid fraud strike force with 15 prosecutors who can be deployed nationwide.

“This is not the end of the beginning,” McDonald concluded at Thursday’s news conference. “This is the beginning.” (source)

Secretary of State Marco Rubio Gives Press Remarks Following Indictment of Raul Castro

Secretary of State Marco Rubio gives remarks to the media from Miami as he prepares to travel to Sweden on a diplomatic mission. Rubio is asked about ongoing negotiations and conflicts with Iran as well as the indictment of Cuban official Raul Castro.

Secretary Rubio also discusses the World Health Organization and the Ebola outbreak in Africa.  As noted by Rubio the #1 priority for the administration is making sure the issue does not come to the United States.  Rubio also noted a change in posture toward NATO following several EU countries refusing to allow U.S. military engagement from bases within their nations.  “The president and I are both disappointed,” with the intransigence of several NATO countries.

Secretary Rubio continues to state the U.S and Cuban officials are still in communication throughout the political conflict between the two countries, the main problem is the Cuban regime doesn’t know how to effectively run a country and is corrupt with all revenue that exists.  Cuba is heading toward being “a failed state” and that issue elevates the urgency due to proximity.

DOJ Indicts U.S Attorney Who Supported Jack Smith Case Against President Trump – Stealing Classified Documents Related to Mar-a-Lago Case

Posted originally on CTH on May 20, 2026 | Sundance |

Last weekend former FBI Director James Comey said there were multiple officials remaining within the DOJ and FBI who were actively working to continue the weaponization of the agencies against President Donald Trump.  When asked about it earlier today, President Trump said Acting AG Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel would root them out and deal with the issue.

Hours later the Dept of Justice released and indictment {SEE HERE} against Managing Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Fort Pierce Branch, Carmen M. Lineberger. Asst USAO Lineberger was caught downloading classified files from the Jack Smith case to her personal email and labeling them as recipes so she could leak them to Lawfare resistance members.

According to FBI Director Kash Patel, “This afternoon, a former managing assistant U.S. Attorney who supported Jack Smith’s politicized investigation of President Trump has been charged with stealing the confidential investigation documents. Carmen Lineberger allegedly emailed the confidential material to her own personal email, disguising them as dessert recipes to conceal them from record searches. Lineberger is charged with four felony counts in the indictment. This FBI will not hesitate to bring to account those who violated the trust of the American public in an investigation that should’ve never been brought to begin with.” {link}

The files Ms. Lineberger is accused of stealing, relate to the Jack Smith case files from the Mar-a-Lago investigation that Judge Aileen Cannon previously sealed.  [Link Below] It appears attorney Carmen Lineberger was in the process of covering her tracks when she was discovered downloading the material and transmitting it outside the U.S. Attorney offices.  {INDICTMENT HERE}

After Special Counsel Jack Smith was dispatched by Judge Aileen Cannon, his team continued to organize materials to frame the hit against an incoming Trump administration.  Judge Cannon calls out this wrongdoing as part of her ruling to keep all the records sealed.  [Ruling pdf Here]

“While it is true that former special counsels have released final reports at the conclusion of their work,” Cannon wrote, “it appears they have done so either after electing not to bring charges at all or after adjudications of guilt by plea or trial. The Court strains to find a situation in which a former special counsel has released a report after initiating criminal charges that did not result in a finding of guilt.”

USMCA Development – Canadian Prime Minister will Announce New Advisory Council for USMCA/CUSMA Negotiations

Posted originally on CTH on May 20, 2026 | Sundance

Somewhere along the path to the inevitable dissolution of the USMCA trilateral trade agreement, reality will set in for Canada.  Until then, denial is the preferred course of action from Prime Minister Mark Carney.  Not since COVID-19 have we witnessed an intellectual disassociation happening over such a large sector of a population.

According to the latest media reports, Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to announce a new Canadian Trade Advisory Council that will strategize the best moves within each sector of the Canadian economy to deal with the United States USMCA renegotiations.  Even at this latest date, the Canadian government is still under the belief they can negotiate themselves into a position where their status within the USMCA (CUSMA) will be retained.

Simultaneous to this announcement, the one best hope the Canadians have relied upon is also evaporating.  However, before discussing that aspect, let’s first look at the advisory council.

CANADA – Prime Minister Mark Carney is expected to unveil a new advisory council focused on Canada-US trade relations as Ottawa attempts to salvage Canadian-US trade amidst Donald Trump’s aggressive tariffs. According to reports, the council will bring together major business leaders, labour representatives and former politicians to advise the federal government ahead of the scheduled review of the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA).

[…] While the entire list of figures present on the council has yet to be announced, the Government of Canada first announced the advisory committee in April 2026, and released a partial list of members. Members reportedly include Conservative leader Erin O’Toole, former Quebec premier Jean Charest, and other representatives from sectors such as energy, manufacturing and forestry. There are also multiple high-level Canadian executives present on the list released by the Prime Minister’s office on April 21. The committee will be chaired by Dominic LeBlanc, who currently serves as minister responsible for Canada-U.S. trade and intergovernmental affairs. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the council’s role will be to provide strategic advice and industry expertise as Canada prepares for negotiations under the umbrella of Donald Trump’s renewed tariff threats.

The creation of the council reflects growing anxiety in Ottawa regarding the future of Canada’s trade relationship with the United States. Since returning to office, Donald Trump has continuously threatened new tariffs on several major industries while pushing for tougher trade concessions from allies. Canadian sectors like steel, aluminum, automotive manufacturing and critical minerals have been most heavily impacted, while US lumber and alcohol sectors have seen massive hits due to retaliatory tariffs and restrictions from Canada. […] His government has increasingly promoted what it calls a “resilience strategy,” focused on strengthening partnerships with Europe and Asia while preparing for difficult negotiations with Washington over continental trade and supply chains. (read more)

An advisory panel to strategize retention of a system that will no longer exist.

I doubt you could define Canadian politics with a better example.

Here’s the background story that makes matters much, much worse for Canada.

The best card the Canadians have on the issue of this agreement comes from the possibility of leftists within the U.S. congress fighting against the Trump administration’s efforts to change or eliminate the USMCA.  Carney, like Trudeau before him, is relying on anti-Trump support within congress.

In 2018 it was then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who wedged Canada back into the trade negotiations by threatening to whip her members against the U.S-Mexico agreement unless President Trump and then U.S. Trade Representative Lighthizer permitted Canada to engage in the trade discussions and the elimination of NAFTA.  Before that Pelosi intervention, Trump and Lighthizer were 80% of the way in eliminating NAFTA and creating a U.S-Mexico bilateral trade deal.  Pelosi saved Trudeau’s position.

In 2026, Prime Minister Mark Carney is hoping for the same level of support from Democrats, except a recent announcement reflects his strategy doesn’t hold any merit.

Twenty U.S. Democrat Senators are asking U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer to structurally get a lot tougher on the trade review and directly close the USMCA loophole that permits Canada to use China as the manufacturing center of their component goods.

Democrats, yes democrats, well understand that U.S. labor unions can see the fundamental flaw that exists as long as Canada cannot factually align with U.S. and Mexico manufacturing systems due to Canadian carbon exchange rules and legislated regulations on climate change.  Democrats are asking Greer to get tough.

VIA NBC – A group of Democratic senators will issue a set of demands to U.S. Trade Representative ahead of a mandatory joint review of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement this summer.

In a letter led by Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., and shared exclusively with CNBC before being sent later Wednesday, 15 Democrats wrote to Greer to “insist that any revised agreement must deliver meaningful and measurable gains for American workers.”

[…] The Democrats are demanding new provisions on the labor front of the agreement, asking that Greer use the review to “lift all boats by ensuring that both Canada and Mexico fully comply with their labor commitments.”

The letter writers targeted seven priorities they would like to see addressed in the review. First was business relocations to Mexico. They said the USMCA has fallen short on keeping businesses in the U.S., pointing to manufacturing wages in Mexico, which they say create a wage gap that is leading to offshoring.

[…] The Democrats also asked Greer to find new ways to enforce bans on goods created with forced labor, which they say all parties have failed to enforce.

[…] Addressing Chinese investment, which also came up as an issue during Trump’s recent trip to Beijing, is also among the Democrats’ demands. […] “It is critical to address this loophole in the review of the Agreement to prevent its use as a backdoor to the North American economy by third-party actors, particularly our adversaries,” they wrote. “Combatting China’s unfair trade practices will take global cooperation, and the review can present a model of how countries can work together to counter this threat.”

Another way the Democrats suggested countering China’s advance into the North American supply chain is by introducing new rules of origin requirements for additional sectors. China’s pervasiveness in components for manufactured goods like autos has recently become an issue in Washington. (read more)

Canada has purposefully and intentionally aligned itself with Chinese industrial manufacturing because Canada’s rules and regulations on climate change and carbon compliance restrict their own industrial manufacturing systems.  Canada needs China to do the dirty jobs and create the component goods that can be assembled into Canadian products.  Democrat in the Senate are asking USTR Greer to address this exact issue.

President Trump and USTR Greer can now leverage this bipartisan issue against the Canadian trade delegation.  Canada’s hope of having the professional political left run cover for them no longer exists. This is a very significant development.

In the December 2024 meeting between Trudeau and Trump, the issue of NATO compliance was part of a larger discussion around trade imbalances, non-tariff barriers, intellectual property conflicts and legislative hurdles that Canada uses as a crutch to retain economic benefit without reciprocity.

Prime Minister Trudeau argued in Mar-a-Lago that Canada could not change all the points of conflict, drop their non-tariff barriers, comply with NATO demands and simultaneously get into total alignment with the USMCA trade compact (CUSMA to Canada), because their climate policies and legislated carbon payment system did not support or match the heavy industrial processing capabilities of both the United States and Mexico.

This factually correct and honest admission by Trudeau, an admission he would never say to his own constituents in Canada, triggered President Trump to respond with the 51st state, notation.  Essentially, Trump saying, if you cannot be a hemispheric partner with equal capabilities; and if you need to retain structural economic dependency; then you, Canada, should just become a 51st state of the USA.

Think about the reality of the Canadian position.  Structurally, without using China, Canada cannot comply with the USMCA without abandoning their net-zero carbon program.  This requires legislative change and a complete 180° reversal in the climate-change mindset of the Canadian people. That is very unlikely to happen.

If Canada cannot factually align with the U.S. and Mexico, then how does Canada expect to retain a trilateral trade agreement?
