Is it a coincidence that during the COVID-19 controversies the largest loss in credibility fell upon the nursing and schoolteacher professions, while the jury in the Lindsay Clancey case were majority female nurses and teachers?

Speaking to NBC in Boston, three of the female jurors speak out about the deliberations behind closed doors.  The main issue expressed by each of the women in the interview was how the holdout juror, “had the hardest time getting off the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children.”  WATCH:

BOSTON – Three jurors from the Lindsay Clancy murder trial, the closely watched Massachusetts filicide case that ended in a dramatic mistrial last week, have come forward to discuss what happened with NBC10 Boston’s Sue O’Connell.

The jury’s foreperson, who wrote the note indicating concerns about a juror expressing reasonable doubt but not agreeing to a verdict, is among the jurors who spoke to NBC10 Boston on Tuesday.

In the exclusive interview, which lasted over an hour, the jurors talked about the defense and the prosecution and the lengthy deliberations, as well as confirming what observers had inferred from the foreperson’s note, that there was a holdout juror, who left them frustrated — they said he wouldn’t listen to the rest of the panel. (read more)

President Trump Triggers Reciprocal Block Against Canadian Procurement and Govt Contract Bids

As noted by President Trump, U.S. businesses and contractors are blocked from bidding on most Canadian federal and provincial contracts for goods and services.  However, the U.S. does not restrict Canadian companies from bidding on U.S. state and federal contracts.

Effective today, that one-way benefit ends.

Keep in mind, as this Truth Social post was made, USTR Jamieson Greer is in a meeting with Canadian USMCA negotiator, Dominick LeBlanc.

(Via Truth Social) – “Everyone knows that Canada doesn’t let our Great Dairy Farmers sell into the Canadian Market, and that the only reason Canada makes Autos is because of previous disastrous Trade Agreements while other Presidents were in Office. Canada has been ripping us off for years, but what many do not realize is that the Canadian Government, including Canadian Provinces, have banned American Small Businesses and Companies from selling into their Government Procurement Markets. 

This is the case even though Canada gets broad access into the massive American Government Procurement Market, including those of our States. That is not reciprocity, it is a Canadian Trade Scam. From now on, NO RECIPROCITY – NO ACCESS! I am hereby directing the GSA, working with the USTR, to take all necessary steps to REMOVE Canadian-origin products from GSA’s Multiple Award Schedules unless Canada restores full and fair reciprocity for American Farmers and Companies. This is also a good opportunity to point out that several media reports on a Deloitte analysis of the Canadian economy, centered around what would happen if the USMCA was terminated, are fundamentally false.  The Deloitte analysis has a baseline assumption that is structurally flawed.

You can read the Deloitte Report HERE.  In the forward you will notice they ‘assume’ all trade between the U.S. and Canada continues, they assume Canada will retain “most favored nation” status, and they assume without the USMCA Canada will face a global 10% baseline tariff.  Each of these assumptions is structurally false.

There is a lot of wish-casting in those assumptions, the biggest one is that Deloitte ignores the Chinese components in Canadian goods.

Without the USMCA to protect their transshipping operation, Canada will not be able to assemble component parts from China into finished goods bound for the United States.  There would be no content agreement with the U.S, nor would there be a defined ‘rules of origin’ to use as a guide.

A singular Chinese component not available in the USA (as an outcome of the U.S-China agreement) would be enough to disqualify the entire product line from Canada.

Within their economy Canada doesn’t independently manufacture all their component parts, specifically the heavy industrial components. Instead, Canada ships the raw materials to China then imports the finished component goods.  Canada is more of an assembly plant than a manufacturing plant.

Canada exports raw materials, then imports component goods.  THAT is their economic model.  They chose that route when they decided that climate change was their gospel, carbon emissions were terrible and industrial manufacturing was dirty work that kills the planet.  Now they have a “clean energy” carbon trading system, but electricity alone cannot smelt and pour.

Deloitte misses that BIG PICTURE entirely, in their estimate of losing 163,000 jobs/yr, and losing $402 billion in economic activity over ten years.

Basically, Deloitte pretends some form of a general Free Trade Agreement with the USA will exist, while continuing to believe a bunch of Canadian processes, rules, bans, provincial regulations, tariffs and non-tariff barriers against the USA remain in place.  The status quo without the USMCA.  I can assure you those massive assumptions are flawed.

Canadian media and govt officials are pushing the Deloitte-ca analysis to maintain their political agenda.

The more likely scenario of a USMCA termination (without a FTA to replace it) would be somewhere around a 30 to 50% drop in all export-driven GDP, totaling well over a trillion dollars in the first 5 years.  70% of all Canadian exports would be impacted, and the job losses are not just in the direct manufacturing or assembly process.  All of the ancillary economic activity that is derived from wage spending suddenly stops.

China would need to spend 10x more to subsidize Canada than Europe is spending to subsidize Ukraine.

Canada and Europe to Formalize Strategic Partnership on Sept 16th, with Canada Becoming a de facto European Protectorate

British commonwealth system are removed. A sovereign USA, China, India, Russia and Saudi Arabia acting independently, albeit with each nation organizing their interests by forming bilateral trade and economic attachments with each other nation.

In essence President Trump is emphasizing ‘Nationalism’ over ‘Globalism’, where the influences of the old, mostly British or colonial systems are removed. In order to combat this strategic reset the U.K commonwealth countries Australia, New Zealand, the British Caribbean states and Canada are organizing themselves into a cluster with the European nations as “middle powers.”

According to the expressed defensive plan outlined by Prime Minister Mark Carney, the totality of the “middle powers” assembly would then be large enough to block the influences of the USA, China, Russia, India or Saudi Arabia.

This new alignment will be interesting against the geopolitical backdrop of the economically aligned G7 or G20 construct. However, there is a big upside. Given the nature of the expressed intent for collective defense and security, there is an immediate opportunity created by the assembly for the United States to exit NATO.

If Canada, Europe and the British Commonwealth nations organize as outlined, they should be entirely capable of defending themselves if needed from China, Russia, India or even the USA. But, then again, this is Europe and Canada we are talking about – both regional populations filled with prose and grand progressive pontifications, yet historically short on actual substance or fortitude. These are, after all, the surrender nations.

A reasonable person would agree that Southeast Asia could kick Europe’s ass in a war, and I seriously doubt the U.K is going to be able to stop the Falkland Islands from going back to Argentina without American help. [Not happening] The Vikings are a serious bunch, but together the Nord’s and the Eastern Europeans are not exactly thrilled with the imported rape-gangs.

Methinks as opposed to trying to take on the Russian and U.S submarine fleets, the Commonwealth and Euros are more likely to break out in a rather colorful civil war first. I admit fully that perspective runs against the grand prose of the Brusselians and British.

BLOOMBERG (non paywall) – The European Union and Canada are working toward a new, all-encompassing relationship that will range from trade to security, as the transatlantic partners seek to build a new alliance to offset the global power politics dominated by the US and China.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, the top executive of the EU, is expected to announce the plans at her state of the union address in Strasbourg, France, September 16, according to people familiar with the preparations. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will attend the speech then address European lawmakers the following day.

Carney’s government has made a deeper EU partnership a top priority and is actively looking at everything short of actual membership, said a Canadian official who spoke on the condition of anonymity. The discussions are particularly focused on “strategic capabilities,” such as cooperation on defense, space exploration and scientific research.

It’s not clear whether new legal tools would be needed to formalise this partnership, but those discussions are ongoing and Carney’s government will be consulting with Canadian provinces and industries, the official said.

In a remarkable speech at the World Economic Forum earlier this year, Carney warned that the “rules-based international order” was effectively dead and called on so-called middle powers to create a new global architecture to oppose pressure tactics and intimidation by the world’s great powers.

He didn’t mention US President Donald Trump by name but called on new alliances to be the last line of defense against countries that impose their economic and military might at will.

A spokesperson from Carney’s office declined to comment for this story. A spokesperson from the commission didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. The contents of von der Leyen’s speech next week are still being drafted and could change before then. (more)

President Trump is likely to invite Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin, and I suspect the European delegation will want to bring Zelenskyy.

Russian Federation Readout Following President Trump and President Putin Phone Call

President Donald Trump and Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin held a one-hour phone call today, discussing the latest round of negotiations between U.S. Emissaries Steve Witkoff, Jared Kusher and their Russian counterparts.

Obviously, for us at CTH it makes no sense to read manipulative U.S. media reports of the Russian perspective on the phone call, when we can just read the Russian readout for ourselves.  You deserve better.  So, here it is:

[PRESS RELEASE] – Aide to the President Yury Ushakov: President Vladimir Putin had another telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump. In their customary respectful and business-like manner, the leaders exchanged opinions on the trips made by US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow and Kiev on September 5–6.

The telephone conversation lasted exactly one hour. It was constructive and quite frank. As you understand, the conversation itself is confidential, so I am not at liberty to share with you many important details and nuances.

The outcome of the visit by said US representatives was assessed as positive. The work through this channel and some others will continue.

Clearly, the conversation centered on Ukrainian settlement. Donald Trump directly communicated the desirability of bringing the conflict to an end as soon as possible, as it would immediately open up prospects – impressive and far-reaching ones at that – for the ​full restoration of relations between the U.S. and Russia. In his view, this would have a particular impact on trade and economic ties, promising huge ‌benefits for ⁠both nations. Donald Trump is keen to see a breakthrough achieved during his presidency.

President Putin supported this approach in the context of potentially building a constructive partnership between the two great powers and praised the mediation efforts by the US and Donald Trump personally with respect to finding solutions to the Ukrainian conflict. An objective and extensive analysis of the current developments in the special military operation was provided, along with our vision of the overall progress on the battlefield and achieving the goals and objectives of the special military operation. Speaking of which, actual tangible actions that the Americans could take to expedite the cessation of the hostilities were outlined.

In view of the speculations regarding Russia’s alleged hostile intentions against European states, it was stressed that no aggressive plans against Europe have ever entered our minds. The circulated myths about the Russian threat serve as a pretext for Europeans to ramp up their support for Ukraine and their own military expenses.

Notably, during the telephone conversation, the leaders agreed to continue the work on resolving humanitarian issues, including detainee and prisoner exchanges. Our President noted the efforts made by US First Lady Melania regarding the return of both Russian and Ukrainian children to their families.

Overall, colleagues, I will reiterate that the conversation proceeded in an upbeat tone. The presidents agreed to stay in touch and speak to each other by phone if the need arose.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio Briefs the Media Pool Traveling to Latin America

Earlier today Secretary Rubio briefed the media pool from Homestead Air Reserve Base [😁] as he prepared for a trip to Latin America.  For the specific purpose and intents of the trip, Secretary Rubio directed the media attention to the Western Hemisphere approach outlined in the 2026 National Security Strategy [See Page, 15].

[Transcript] – SECRETARY RUBIO:  So this is an important trip, obviously.  We’re going to go visit three countries strongly aligned with the United States.  We have a lot of common interests with them, both taking on regional transnational criminal terrorism and also economic engagements.  We’re hoping to wrap up good, solid trade deals with all three of these countries in the foreseeable future.  And of course, a lot of strong cultural links.

So I think it’s part of a trend that you’re seeing in the Western Hemisphere of alignment with the U.S. and U.S. interests.  If you read our National Security Strategy – I’m sure all of you have read it very carefully page by page – it outlines one of our priorities is strengthening our presence in the Western Hemisphere.  And I think this trip and these meetings, as much as anything else, is continuing to further that goal as part of that strategy.

QUESTION:  Secretary Rubio, why not travel to Venezuela on this trip?  As you mentioned, this is all about the Western Hemisphere.

SECRETARY RUBIO:  Well, we’ll get there eventually, as I said, but you can’t go everywhere.  This is a condensed week, obviously, with Labor Day yesterday and then 9/11 on – on Friday that we’ll be commemorating the 25th anniversary.  So we just simply couldn’t add another, and these are countries we needed to get to that I hadn’t gotten to yet.

So in the case of Colombia, they just had a free and democratic election.  They elected someone I know very well, very aligned with the U.S., and we want to – we have a longstanding relationship.  In the case of Peru, after some political turmoil, they too have had a recent election, and President Fujimori is someone we look forward to engaging with.  And then in Ecuador, obviously, their election was last year but they face – they’re one of our closest security partners in the region, and I think there’s more we can do with them – economics as well.

QUESTION:  Secretary Rubio, what would your message be to Latin Americans who might look at the Venezuela oil deal and think that the U.S. Government’s interested in extracting resources or just sending troops?

SECRETARY RUBIO:  Well, I —

QUESTION:  What’s your message?

SECRETARY RUBIO:  Well, what I would say to anyone who is concerned that the U.S. is doing something negative towards the Western Hemisphere as regards to energy is those oil fields, once dominated by China and Russia and Iran, by the way; Iran also had some concessions – and they’re no longer there.  So I think they’re much better off partnering with the United States.  They will benefit greatly from it.  These fields were in many cases nonproductive; in essence, the Chinese and Russian companies held these fields but never turned them into anything.  These fields are going to be productive and they’re going to generate royalties and revenues for the Venezuelan people – eventually through a democratically elected government, hopefully sooner rather than later – and directly benefit the people of Venezuela, as opposed to going into the pocket of some corrupt government official or in the hands of American and Venezuelan adversaries, really.

QUESTION:  Mr. Secretary, do you have anything to say about the British decision on the imports from Israel – or from settlements in —

SECRETARY RUBIO:  Well, they alerted us to it.  We don’t have any announcements.  Obviously, these are decisions that they make.  And we and the President has expressed this in the past:  We don’t want to see anything destabilizing going on right now in the West Bank with so much going on in the region.  We think it has implications as well on our ability to make progress with regards to Gaza and the 20-point plan and Board of Peace that we’re very committed to.  Obviously, we’re not going to do what the UK did.  We saw their announcement today, but I don’t have any comment on it right now.

QUESTION:  But Ambassador Huckabee said that you’ve – that the Brits will suffer because of that with the U.S., that he suggested that the U.S. —

SECRETARY RUBIO:  Well, I would say that the President has not commented on this.  As I said, neither have I at this point.  We were made aware that they were going to make this decision.  We heard their arguments as to why.  But look, we share the goal of stability.  We don’t want to see some uptick in violence or an uptick in conflict or tensions in the West Bank at a very tenuous time in the region.  There’s always tenuous times.  But beyond that, I don’t think – as of this moment, we don’t have any further comment on the UK decision that I think was announced just a few hours ago.

QUESTION:  Overnight the Houthis launched a substantial attack on Saudi Arabia.  What are your thoughts on that when the U.S. has put pressure on the Houthis to kind of stay out of this fight?

SECRETARY RUBIO:  Yeah, look, again, the Houthis in many ways are agents and proxies of the Iranians.  I think behind some of this is clearly the Iranian hand.  The U.S. has a very strong defensive military relationship with Saudi Arabia, and we’re watching those events very closely.  It’s been going on for some time.  I think there’s been some ground operations as well where many forces are taking on the Houthis and pushing back against some of the ground advances that they attempted to make.  And we’re monitoring that, as I said, very, very closely.  And – but I would defer as far as on the defense side to the Department of War.  I don’t think there’ll be any announcements on that today.

Ukraine Prosecutor General Resigns Following Criminal Corruption Probe Involving His Office

f the U.S. Attorney General.  Keep in mind the Prosecutor General is the office responsible for prosecuting all the Ukraine government officials engaged in corruption, fraud and bribery.

Last week the Ukraine anti-corruption agencies, ​NABU and SAPO, said they had discovered a criminally corrupt operation running from the Prosecutor General’s office.

Today, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko resigned.  Go figure.

VIA REUTERS – Sept 8 (Reuters) – Ukraine’s prosecutor general said on Monday he had offered his resignation citing political reasons, in the latest sign of ​disunity in the senior ranks of the Ukrainian ruling ‌elite.

“This is a political decision, and I have made it consciously. I do not want the position of Prosecutor General to be used as ​an instrument of political confrontation,” Ruslan Kravchenko said in ​a statement on Telegram late on Monday, without elaborating.

Kravchenko ⁠thanked President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Ukraine’s parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, ​and asked them to accept his resignation.

Ukraine’s anti-graft agencies, the ​NABU and SAPO, said last week they had uncovered a criminal organisation dealing with fraudulent call centres which was allegedly arranged by an official within ​the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Kravchenko has denied he was involved in ​the alleged scheme. “My position regarding the accusations remains unchanged,” he said in ‌his ⁠Telegram post. (read more)

A few weeks ago, Ukraine Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko resigned.  She too was under a corruption investigation.

A few weeks before that Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov resigned, citing internal struggles over “procurement priorities.”  Meaning fights with military leadership about their payment and indulgency schemes.

President Trump Targets Canada Subsidized Bombardier Manufacturing

Bombardier airplane manufacturing sells approximately 55% of its products inside the United States. The company is based in Montreal and manufacturers the airliners mainly in Ottawa; however, component parts are made in the USA and also Mexico.

The company has a history of being heavily dependent on Canadian government subsidies and bailouts.

Bombardier employs approximately 5,000 U.S. workers and 12,000 Canadian workers but is also heavily dependent on sales to the USA to maintain over half their business.  On the eve of Canada’s retaliatory tariffs against the U.S, President Trump is now recommending a boycott of the airliner.  The U.S. airline builder Gulfstream has been blocked from sales in Canada by regulatory slow walking, a non-tariff barrier.

There is a reciprocity justification for Bombardier sales restrictions in the USA considering the non-tariff barriers that U.S. company Gulfstream faces against their Canadian competition.  It will be interesting to see if the Dept of Commerce or USTR enact a regulatory barrier.

The U.S. economy is 32 Trillion.

Put another way, the U.S. economy is thirty-two thousand billions, and Mark Carney has tariffed 50 of them.

Susan Kokinda Reviews U.S. Emissary Missions to Russia and Ukraine

Susan Kokinda from Promethean Action PAC picks up on the nuance within the comments from Kirill Dmitriev upon the U.S. delegation meeting in Moscow.

Promethean Action – “The Kremlin released rare footage of a high-level meeting between Vladimir Putin and Trump envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, followed by their first trip to Kyiv this term and a comparatively restrained response from Volodymyr Zelenskyy, signaling revived U.S. diplomacy on Ukraine. The script argues Putin views the American team as a more trusted broker than European leaders and notes a recent sequence of engagements, including CIA Director Ratcliffe’s public Moscow visit and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s G20 outreach to Russia’s finance minister.

With Kirill Dmitriev present, Moscow described detailed discussions of major U.S.-Russia economic projects, alongside claims that Bessent is choking off offshore and banking channels funding Ukraine via Europe, the UK, and Canada. It then pivots to Argentina’s renewed Malvinas/Falklands push as Trump publicly and reportedly reconsiders automatic U.S. support for British sovereignty, recalling internal U.S. divisions during the 1982 war.”

Happy Labor Day

Labor Day hits a little different this year, as there are elements outside our assembly seeking to fracture the coalition of pragmatic conservatives. The noise is louder, the distractions more intense and the stakes of resetting the economic balance sheet in favor of Main Street are higher. For all of those reasons and more, it seems more difficult to keep moving forward with economic nationalism as the roadmap.

However, we remind ourselves that everything of great purpose comes from within, and from a loving God. As Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn famously said:

“The simple step of a courageous individual is not to take part in the lie. One word of truth outweighs the world.”

It’s Labor Day in America.  We pause and celebrate work, productivity, problem solving, and the value of our workforce. A nation built on ingenuity – so long as we tend the flickering flame of liberty. So, to all of you who do not take part in the grand lies and manipulations that surround us, THANK YOU!

No other nation on earth was conceived to allow people to manifest their own destiny while keeping government out of their lives. The vision, the premise and the purpose, was to allow you the freedom to determine your place in life; and even, at any time, change that determination and strike off in an entirely new direction.

Our American labor and aspirations would not be pre-determined by caste, tier, creed or social status; but rather by our personal vision for our own future. The right of self-determination. This is a uniquely American attribute.

Labor Day is a moment when we reflect on the value of work, the great benefit of endeavors achieved, the pride in accomplishment -regardless of scale- amid this thing we call life. But ultimately, all of these considerations have absolutely nothing to do with the money we assemble in the process.  We ain’t taking any of it with us folks.

When you hold open the door, you make a difference.  When you choose to stand against fraud and deceit, you make a difference.  When you pray with purpose you make a difference.  When you hold no tolerance for chaos, you make a difference. When you show up, even when you are not sure what comes next, you make a difference. When you achieve in silence because silence is not a mistake, you make a difference.

It is who you are that makes a difference. That is the currency of our life.

Regardless of your chosen occupation or effort, you do it well.  You live your standard.  You have paid the price for your peace. Be proud of yourself. Allow the method of your labor to express the value of who you are and celebrate the accomplishment.

You matter!

President Trump Lengthy Interview With U.K GB News

Against the popular uprisings currently taking place in Great Britain, this interview takes on additional context. Last week, just before the civil protests broke out on the shores of the U.K, President Trump sat down for an interview with GB News about issues and current events that hit both sides of the Atlantic.

President Trump answers questions about topics that pertain to both the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland as well as the interconnectivity of the relationship to the United States.  The interview is pragmatic, focused and deliberate as President Trump presents his perspectives on the challenges that face both nations.

Obviously one of the key policy issues facing the U.K is the topic of migration, and President Trump puts the issue into a factual framework of government accepting the problem. These are choices being made by political leadership against the interests of their citizens. The interviewer, Bev Turner, is fraught with political correctness and somewhat stunned by President Trump’s lack of pretense.  WATCH:
