Government Can Be Useful Sometimes!

A mafia guy from Jersey was in prison, and his father told him he was getting too old to till the soil to grow Jersey tomatoes. The next time he was on the phone with his father from prison, he told him not to dig in the garden because he might not like what is beneath the surface. There might be a body (or two) there. The FBI showed up the next day and dug the whole garden up, found nothing, and left.

The following day he spoke to his father from prison, and asked if they did a good job on tilling the soil for him. His father said, Thanks for the help. You were always a very thoughtful son.”

Walter Jones – An Important Politician Who Was One of the Good-Guys

I wanted to write an obituary for a friend who I would go down to Capitol Hill to see – Walter Jones. He was a Republican but someone who would vote based upon what he believed was right and not simply because of party politics. Walter died and it was really a great loss. He would cross the aisle and often worked with Democrats, and as a result, he won their respect. The same could not be said of some of the Republicans like Boehner.

Walter had served in the North Carolina General Assembly for 10 years as a Democrat. He was one of the Southern Democrats who switched to the Republican Party when he ran for Congress in 1994. As the Democrats turned left-wing and were actually manipulating minorities to gain power after the Democratic Party was originally founded by Andrew Jackson who was a slave owner, there was a movement against the Democrats internally that became really during the post-1968 period. Jones was one of many southern Democrats to make that switch, which was not easy. Jones’s father had been a longtime Democratic congressman. That switch demonstrated that Jones followed his conscience rather than party politics blindly.

The real battle Jones fought against the Republicans came when he supported Ron Paul and the rising tied of fiscal conservatives. I would even attend meetings there in his office on such matters and deeply appreciated the understanding that existed about the direction of the country.

Boehner JohnJohn Boehner had been outrageous and retaliated against anyone who supported a fiscally conservative policy. Boehner purged all economic conservatives from the House Finance Committee which included Jones. Boehner went as far as to raise money for GOP candidates to run against anyone he wanted to remove. Boehner conspired to in 2014 to instigate the former Bush administration official Taylor Griffin to run against Jones in the GOP primary and backed him heavy financially from Washington Republicans. Boehner directed a million dollars of super PAC money to pour into the district that tried to paint Walter Jones as a liberal lying about his record. Boehner became a ruthless dictator and demanded any Republican vote as he directed. It was business as usual for Boehner and why he was driven out by the Republicans for Boehner ended up causing the Republican Party to split. All the efforts of Boehner to defeat Jones failed. but it left a very bad taste in my mouth for Boehner.

Jones voted against Obamacare and the bailouts of the big banks, Wall Street and Detroit. He voted against cap and trade, and TARP, the trillion-dollar stimulus package. Boehner was furious with Jones. Jones voted against every increase in the debt ceiling in 10 years and refused to vote for any U.S. budget not in balance.

Walter Jones came to believe that voting to send Americans to fight and die in Iraq was the worst mistake of his career. Jones now spends hours each weekend writing personal letters to every family that lost a son or daughter in a war he wrongly supported. And he has resolved to oppose every idiotic war into which the country is being manipulated. Jones had at first supported the Iraq War in 2003, but was deeply bothered at the human cost of life. He was also one of President Donald Trump’s most outspoken critics within the GOP, but this was not because of party politics. Jones followed his beliefs in right and wrong. He had been deeply offended by the Iraq War. He admitted that he has supported the 2002 congressional resolution that gave President George W. Bush the authority to wage the war in Iraq following 911. As Jones told the Associated Press in 2017, he opened his eyes and his heart in 2003, attending the funeral of a marine in his district.

“I will never forget my mistake, because people died because of my mistake… I bought into believing that President Bush didn’t really want to go to war. That’s how naive I was at the time … I could have voted no, and I didn’t.”

kristol-billThe War Party front, the “Emergency Committee for Israel,” is chaired by Bill Kristol, who has become the cheerleader for war that has cost 4,500 American lives. Bill has funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars into attack ads to get rid of Jones because he would not support the war effort. Kristol wrote the War Over IraqSaddam’s Tyranny And America’s Mission with his co-author Lawrence F. Kaplan, which was published on February 1st, 2003, one month and change BEFORE the invasion. Note the timing. This was written to support Cheney. It takes time to publish this book.

Kristol’s book states that the rationale behind the preemptive strategy against Saddam Hussein is simply that he is a dictator who threatens both his own people and the world. That is sufficient to justify the United States invading another country before he does further harm. Kristol offered no evidence to support his case and he simply stated that “we do know that Saddam is a terrorist.”Kristol went as far as to criticize both the first Bush administration and the Clinton administration for allowing the Iraq threat to grow.

Based upon INSIDE White House sources, when someone first joined the staff in the White House under the new Bush Jr. Administration in 2001, at the very first meeting the focus was not on the prospects of a recession into 2002, but on invading Iraq from day one!!!!!!

Ricketts JoeThen there was the Ending Spending Action Fund, a super PAC led by billionaire Joe Ricketts and backed by the Macau-Vegas casino mogul Sheldon Adelson, dumped scores of thousands dollars into the 3rd District to deceive voters into believing that Walter Jones was a liberal. Again, one must question why Ricketts is against fiscal conservatism.

The behind the curtain antics of the Republican Party stands as evidence how Party Politics is doomed. These types of people are so establishment that they cannot see that they are seriously out of touch with America. They are placing the future at risk no different from the Democrats. What all of this proves is one stake thing – Republics always transform into oligarchies.

Walter Jones was a person I greatly respected. We have lost another person who stood his ground against the evil forces of darkness that are hell-bent on intolerance of any opposition.

We are All Connected & for an End Game Purpose

COMMENT:  Dear Mr. Armstrong,
I’m reading your blog for 10 years, every single day, first thing in the morning. It changed me and my views on events in pretty much everything.
I want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU for your titanic work, that you made available to people around the world, changing them for the better.
I don’t know how you are able to wear so many hats plus write for us every single day. You are one of those few geniuses, like A. Einstein, who expand the horizons for many.
Happy New Year 2019, dear Martin! I wish you and your team all the best in the new year and on for always!
Yours Truly,
VL (Russia)

REPLY: I know, I seem to be addicted to work. Thank you very much for your comment. From my side, I am very glad we have so many readers in Russia. There were 37 countries represented at the WEC event in Orlando this year. It was Margaret Thatcher who remarked to me that I reminded her of Winston Churchill. She said we both had a passion for history and we were the best at what we took interest in. Maggie told me she entered politics before 1948. She was a member of the Conservative activist “Vermin Club,” and she ran for Parliament in 1950, 1951, 1954, and finally won her first seat in 1959. She knew Churchill and served in Parliament with him as an MP for five years until Winston left Parliament in 1964. She understood cycles and even spoke at our conference back in 1996.

My philosophy is we learn something from every person we meet, be it good or bad. Our clients have always been special. They are themselves all geniuses because a genius is NOT someone who knows everything. Rather, a genius is someone who looks outside the box and is not afraid to explore. By definition, a genius MUST be someone who challenges the status quo with logic. A member of the staff at Princeton University told me I reminded him of Einstein because I was curious and would always look for the answer regardless of the field. Indeed, Einstein maintained that imagination was the key. I put together the monetary history of the Roman Empire to see simply how it fell. Was it a sudden crash (Waterfall) or was it like a 747 coming in for a gradual landing.

Therefore, if you are reading this blog, you MUST be in this same category. You MUST be thinking outside the box like Einstein and Churchill and seeking answers. Only such thinkers discover anything. Because of Maggie, I took the time to read up on Churchill. Those raising children should pay attention to the signs of a free thinker.

“Clearly there was something odd here. Winston, Davidson had conceded, was the ablest boy in his form. He was, in fact, remarkable. His grasp of history was outstanding. Yet he was considered a hopeless pupil. It occurred to no one that the fault might lie, not in the boy, but in the school. Samuel Butler defined genius as “a supreme capacity for getting its possessors into trouble of all kinds,” and it is ironic that geniuses are likeliest to be misunderstood in classrooms. Studies at the University of Chicago and the University of Minnesota have found that teachers smile on children with high IQs and frown upon those with creative minds. Intelligent but uncreative students accept conformity, never rebel, and complete their assignments with dispatch and to perfection. The creative child, on the other hand, is manipulative, imaginative, and intuitive. He is likely to harass the teacher. He is regarded as wild, naughty, silly, undependable, lacking in seriousness or even promise. His behavior is distracting; he doesn’t seem to be trying; he gives unique answers to banal questions, touching off laughter among the other children. E. Paul Tor-rance of Minnesota found that 70 percent of pupils rated high in creativ¬ity were rejected by teachers picking a special class for the intellectually gifted. The Goertzels concluded that a Stanford study of genius, under which teachers selected bright children, would have excluded Churchill, Edison, Picasso, and Mark Twain.

None of this was known to Welldon and his staff, but as term succeeded term an awareness grew among them that Winston was a baffling boy. He couldn’t, or wouldn’t, learn the ablative absolute – a minor feat of memory – but he could recite twelve hundred lines of Macaulay.”

The Last Lion, id/p158-159; by William Manchester

So I thank one and all. We now have readers in more than 100 countries. We are all connected and perhaps we can contribute when the time comes. We are all in this mess together albeit not by our own actions or choice. But just remember, you can lead a horse to water but you cannot force him to drink. We, unfortunately, are in that position. We cannot change the outcome. Nobody will listen. We must remain patient and firm. When the time comes for the crash and burn, then and only then will we have a fleeting moment to turn the course of history in the right direction.

We must grasp one thing. The rational components of human knowledge stand in opposition to all propositions that are arrived at by purely unbiased logical means derived from empirical research, and, in truth, they are completely void of all reality. The talking heads believe they must assign some rational explanation to every move in the markets. They only perpetuate myths and are just void of any reality or logic in the absence of empirical research in favor of presumption. They lack any understanding of the bell curve effect and it is like wine. A glass of red wine is good for the heart. A bottle of red wine is bad for the liver. Anything can kill you if taken to extremes – cold as well as heat. Just remember the bell curve – all things possess a cycle.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019

Janus – Goodbye to 2018 & Hello 2019

Well, we are about to celebrate the feast of Janus for who January is named after and his festival took place on January 9, the Agonium. Some try to argue January was named after Juno. But when the calendar was changed, it is more likely that January is named after Janus and June is named after Juno. Janus is usually depicted as having two faces since he looks to the future and to the past. Janus was the god of all beginnings. He was invoked as the first of any gods in regular liturgies among the Romans and he dates back to even the founding of Rome. The beginning of the day, month, and year, both calendrical and agricultural, were sacred to him.

Therefore, when we say goodbye to 2018 and look to the future of 2019, remember one thing. This is a very, very, very old tradition.

Happy New Year

Martin Luther & New Revelations About the Bible

Many people argue about various theories of the Bible. There is one major issue that is rarely ever discussed. The original Bible was written primarily in Hebrew with some portions in Aramaic. It was first translated into Greek, which even in Roman times many believed was the superior language. The Bible was then translated into Latin but it appears there was no full version until that undertaken by Saint Jerome (347 – 420). There have been passages translated into Latin prior to St Jerome that appear to include up to 27 different versions of slightly different translations. These are generally known as Vetus Latina.

The Biblia Vulgate, “Common Bible” Earlier translations were made mainly obsolete by St. Jerome‘s Vulgate version of the Bible. Jerome knew Hebrew and revised and unified the Latin Bibles of the time to bring them into conformity with the Hebrew as he understood it.

Martin Luther’s real accomplishment in this field was translating the Bible from Latin to German. This was a major step ending the Dark Age, for now, people would be able to actually read the Bible itself. Recent research has shown that an obscure monk in Austria actually had translated the Bible to German almost 200 years before Luther.
