White House: No Travel Ban from Africa Needed Despite Ebola Scare in Dallas


The key words in this insane statement are “Showing Symptoms” given that an infected person might not show the symptoms of his/her infection for 21 days the policies in place are not capable of stopping the spread by their very definition. The very policies that the CDC touts allowed Duncan in the US so that proves they don’t work.

The federal government is not considering a travel ban to the United States from Africa, thanks to a “sophisticated multi layer screening system” at airports in Africa, according to the White House.

“If we can screen through the transportation system to ensure that individuals that are exhibiting symptoms don’t have access to a transportation system, then you can keep the transportation system secure,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest explained to reporters aboard Air Force One.

A travel ban would make it more difficult for professionals to reach Africa to help end the Ebola epidemic, he explained.

“The strong preference here is to keep the transportation system open, but safe,” he said, reminding reporters that passengers traveling through African airports were visually scanned, asked to fill out questionnaires, and had their temperature taken.

Earnest added that in response to the Ebola case in Dallas, federal government officials had “recirculated guidance”…
