Digital IDs Mandatory in Britain by 2029

Mandatory digital IDs are coming to the United Kingdom by2029. Prime Minister Keir Starmer would like the public to believe that verification is a protective measure to curb illegal immigration. Digital IDs are a purely a CONTROL tactic. Once you allow the government to link every citizen to a digital profile, the next step is obvious and of paramount concern—linking that ID to digital currency and banking. You are no longer a free citizen but a ward of the government who can and will use your digital access to the world to track and control you.

The UK revoked free speech long ago. Comments deemed hateful result in jail time. A wrong “like” or post on social media can result in police knocking on the door. The government determines what is “misinformation” and “hateful,” and any transgression will result in punishment. That punishment will be felt immediately with the implementation of digital IDs. If you say something that displeases Big Brother, your access to society will come to a screeching halt. Due process and checks and balances are not necessary as punishment for suspicion is dealt instantaneously on a digital system.

Digital power enables government to eliminate your access to society—the ability to purchase, receive benefits, work, travel–without warning and it will be your responsibility to prove innocence. Millions of people living in Thailand now understand the power the government holds over them after digital IDs were linked to their ability to bank. The Thai government began freezing tens of thousands of bank accounts per week. Over three million accounts were frozen without notice or proper investigation. Shockwaves of panic spread throughout the nation. Businesses no longer wish to accept credit. Confidence in government and now the banks has been destroyed. This event occurred as a protective measure against money laundering, allegedly, but soon, governments will have the ability to deliberately revoke access to the system. We saw this happen during COVID when digital passports were implemented. China removed the people’s ability to travel to prevent a run on the banks during a panic.

The digital ID will expand to every facet of life from health care to social services. The government has not outlined how it will expand to the financial sector, but that is the ultimate goal as there is no greater control. Starmer warned that Brits will be unable to work without a digital ID. This is merely the beginning of how this platform will be utilized, because this is NOT about immigration.

“Digital ID is an enormous opportunity for the UK. It will make it tougher to work illegally in this country, making our borders more secure,” Starmer declared. “And it will also offer ordinary citizens countless benefits, like being able to prove your identity to access key services swiftly – rather than hunting around for an old utility bill.”

Convenience and safety—the promises provided in exchange for freedom. Governments turn authoritarian when they face economic collapse. Britain is drowning in debt like the rest of the developed world. Reform is not possible because politicians are unable to think outside the box and instead believe that the people are to blame for failed policies and budgets. Increased taxation and regulation go hand in hand with an increased authoritarian state. Welcome to the digital age of government—you are now a number in a system controlled by an authoritarian state. Freedom is an illusion.

Seasonal Hires Reach 16-Year Low

Seasonal retail hiring may plummet to the lowest level since 2009. Job placement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas expects retailers to add under 500,000 temporary positions in the final three months of the year, an 8% annual decline, and the smallest gain in 16 years. Retail depends on holiday Q4 sales for a bulk of annual revenue and the hiring trend is a glaring sign of a declining economy.

Certain retailers, like Target, stated that they plan to offer overtime hours to existing employees. Yet another sign of the times as people are eager for additional income and companies are not keen to take on additional employees.

A PwC survey from September 2025 indicates that the average person plans to spend 5% less this holiday season, down from $1,638 in 2024 to $1,552 per person. The survey has not indicated a drop in holiday sales since 2020. PwC’s figure translates to ~$413B–$460B total if scaled to ~266M adult consumers. Gen Z notably plans to spend 23% less this year as the cost of living has caused most young adults to live paycheck to paycheck, whereas boomers with sufficient savings plan to spend 5% more.

The National Retail Federation (NRF), however, predicts US retail sales will rise between 2.7% and 3.7% over 2024, reaching between $5.42 trillion and $5.48 trillion for the year. As for holiday spending, the NRF predicts a rise between 2.5% and 3.5% reaching a total between $979.5 billion and $989 billion.

Hiring trends in retail indicate that companies are less than optimistic about overall foot traffic this holiday season. Americans are spending more on less. Discretionary spending has been on the decline as inflation never meaningly waned.

The Safest EU Nation According to Residents

Croatia

A new report by Eurostat has found that Croatians feel safer than people in any other European Union nation, with only 1.4% of the population reporting anti-social activity. Lithuania and Poland ranked close behind Croatia. In contrast, Greeks feared the most for their safety with over 20% of citizens reporting crime. What is the common denominator?

Citizens in EU nations with stricter immigration policies feel safer than those with open borders or whose nations are situated as a landing point. Croatia cracked down on immigration policies this year, leading to a 70% decline in work permit approvals. Yet, that is not the population in question. Over 26,000 migrants passed through Croatia in 2024, but most continued on to other EU nations. The border with Bosnia is monitored with drones and an active police force. “Only 3.6% of the people who declared their intention to apply for international protection in the Republic of Croatia actually make a formal application,” the Interior Ministry in Zagreb told DW. “We have no information about the countries to which these people went.”

Then you have Greece, unfortunately, a landing spot for migrants arriving by boat. The EU Pact was intended to provide safeguards to migrants to streamline the process. Brussels provided Greece with over 5 billion euros in funding over the past decade to manage migration, but the off is no longer worth the risk. Greece finally took a hardline on migration in 2025 and began implementing harsh penalties including imprisonment and ankle tag monitoring for those awaiting deportation. The EU has accused Greece of violating international law by returning migrants to Turkish waters and operating detention centers. Yet, due to the extreme nature of open border policies, these measures were crucial to regain control over the nation.

The nations who openly welcomed migrants are facing the highest rates of migrant-related crime. Migrants tend to be lone males who do not integrate well into European society. Take Germany, for example, the hub for migrants thanks to Angela Merkel’s policies some ten years ago. Violent crime peaked to a 15-year high in 2023, and migrants were responsible for 40% of all violent crimes. Nationalist sentiments are growing throughout Europe because the people are experiencing the repercussions of open borders.

The Illusion of GDP

UK GDP Y 9 27 25

QUESTION: The Economist said that Britain is not in a recession and everything is fantastic, because Labour is in power. Socrates showed high volatility in UK GDP this year, and it looks like things are shifting in October. Is GDP a valid indicator anymore?

EK

ANSWER: No, GDP can be easily manipulated. The most common way to measure GDP is by adding up all the spending in the economy:

GDP = C + I + G + (X – M)

  • C = Consumption (spending by households)
  • I = Investment (spending by businesses on capital goods)
  • G = Government Spending (on goods and services)
  • (X – M) = Net Exports (Exports minus Imports)
Economist Britain going Broke

Yes, the Economist will NEVER say the slightest thing positive about Trump. They are an extremely biased left-wing propaganda magazine these days. When I used to advertise and would even meet with senior staff back in the ’80s, they were not so extreme left. This is what they wrote:

“Some of the doomsaying is overdone. Britain is not in a recession. Critics say the government crushed the private sector with tax increases in 2024, but the economy grew faster in the first half of 2025 than any other in the G7 group of big rich countries. Retail sales have been solid; unemployment remains low; and the service sector is strong. Britain’s structural strengths—its best universities, the City of London and the English language—are enduring. In many ways, including its birth rate and artificial-intelligence research, Britain can look to continental Europe and count its blessings.”

I have written before that we thoroughly examined all the economic statistics back in the 1980s and 1990s. What we discovered was shocking. One of the staff came to me and said that she had found an anomaly in the GDP, that they were counting all government employees TWICE in the GDP. They count total personal income and then total government spending, but do not subtract government spending on employees. I called the head of BEA and asked if they had to be backing this out somewhere. I was told he would get back to me. After weeks had passed, I called again, and he said, ‘No comment.’ I believe that has been corrected.

Nonetheless, if 50% of the private sector laid off its workers and the government hires them, the GDP will not decline. So between March 2024 and March 2025, there was an increase of about 6,800 people on a headcount basis (about 1.3%). Starmmer came to power in July 2024. As of March 31st, 2025, the UK Civil Service headcount was 549,660, with full-time equivalent (FTE) at about 516,150.

The more people Starmer hires, the greater the GDP growth. That is an illusion since taxes rise, and it is reducing actual productivity for government employees. DO NOT add to the nation’s wealth any more than hiring a live-in maid increases your household income.
