The Arctic Basin is at the peak of the melt season, but is barely melting. The map below shows changes in ice over the last three days. Green shows increased ice, and red shows decreased ice.
Due to cold air and an Arctic cyclone, it is likely that ice extent in the Chukchi Sea will actually increase over the next few days.
Money or Power is ALWAYS what it is about and only a fool would think otherwise!

There is a real irony in the Left’s repeated insinuation that climate realists must be funded, somehow, by the oil industry. In truth, there is plenty of money being distributed to climate scientists, but just about all of it comes from governments, and all government money goes to alarmists who promote government power. From this week’s The Week That Was, from the Science and Environmental Policy Project:
Based US government reports, SEPP calculated that from Fiscal Year (FY) 1993 to FY 2013 total US expenditures on climate change amount to more than $165 Billion. More than $35 Billion is identified as climate science. The White House reported that in FY 2013 the US spent $22.5 Billion on climate change. About $2 Billion went to US Global Change Research Program (USGCRP). The principal function of the USGCRP is to provide to Congress a National Climate Assessment (NCA). The latest report uses global climate models, which are not validated, therefor speculative, to speculate about regional influences from global warming.
Much of the remaining 89% of funding goes to goes to government agencies and industries claiming they are preventing global warming/climate change, even though they do not understand the natural causes of climate change and, likely, far overestimate the influence of CO2. These entities have a vested interest in promoting the fear of global warming/climate change.
It is time for the government to stop funding irrational fear of global warming/climate change based on a concept of climate that is not substantiated by the physical evidence. If we are to progress in our understanding of climate change, the paradigm must be changed from one that earth’s temperatures are largely controlled by atmospheric CO2, to one which recognizes that climate change is normal and predominately natural. Human CO2 emissions have little, if any, influence on temperatures and other climate trends.
One of the worst consequences of the global warming power grab by the U.S. government and others around the world has been the corruption of the scientific process, which has brought the discipline of climate science, and by association science in general, into disrepute.
Apparently there are a few German’s that are sane!
Patrick Moore and John Coleman were awesome, but this guy stole the show.
Does the truth even matter to the progressive left?
No graph is more damning of NASA/NOAA temperature adjustments than this one. This is the rate of change to the NASA US temperature record since 1999.
On average, 1999 gets 0.02C warmer every year, and the 1940s get about 0.005C colder every year. The pre-1960 past continually gets colder with almost each new NASA data release, and the post-1960 past continuously gets warmer.
If the present refuses to get warmer, then the past must become cooler. How could anyone possibly believe these adjustments are legitimate?
Just more prove that the Climate Scientists haven’t a clue.
In 1990, brilliant climate scientists said that global warming would cause the Antarctic ice sheet to gain mass, and cause sea levels to rise one metre. (Balancing equations is apparently not part of the climate science curriculum.)

The NOAA Climate Extremes Index (CEI) is the crown jewel of NOAA climate fraud.
The graph below is an EPA graph derived from CEI, which shows US summers much hotter now than the 1930’s, and shows that only half of the US was hot during the summer of 1936.
This graph is quite remarkable, because another EPA graph in the same document shows that heat waves were much more severe during the 1930s.
Heat waves in the 1930s remain the most severe heat waves in the U.S. historical record (see Figure 1). The spike in Figure 1 reflects extreme, persistent heat waves in the Great Plains region during a period known as the “Dust Bowl.”
The fraudulent EPA graph (top) is based on this garbage NOAA CEI data set, which shows the summer of 2012 as hot as the summer of 1936.

The propagandists running the US government are really pushing their luck with this one. The EPA claims that the past winter wasn’t cold in the US.
The Commerce Department says that contraction of the economy was due to the unusually cold winter, which the EPA says didn’t occur.
The U.S. economy contracted much more than previously thought during the first quarter of this year, revised estimates show. Rather than the 1 percent growth the Commerce Department reported last month, gross domestic product fell by 2.9 percent, the worst performance in five years. Temperatures in the Arctic Basin have been cold again this summer, and there is little melting occurring. The map below shows ice loss from July 10 to July 11 in red.
There are only a few weeks left to the melt season, which is shaping up to be a complete disaster for people who make their living promoting fear about the Arctic.
