The problem with these viruses is that they mutate and the more times they multiply the more likely a change will occur. So even if it wasn’t transmitted by direct contact or airborne yesterday that doesn’t mean can’t be tomorrow or that it isn’t today!

White House: No Travel Ban from Africa Needed Despite Ebola Scare in Dallas

The key words in this insane statement are “Showing Symptoms” given that an infected person might not show the symptoms of his/her infection for 21 days the policies in place are not capable of stopping the spread by their very definition. The very policies that the CDC touts allowed Duncan in the US so that proves they don’t work.

The federal government is not considering a travel ban to the United States from Africa, thanks to a “sophisticated multi layer screening system” at airports in Africa, according to the White House.

“If we can screen through the transportation system to ensure that individuals that are exhibiting symptoms don’t have access to a transportation system, then you can keep the transportation system secure,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest explained to reporters aboard Air Force One.

A travel ban would make it more difficult for professionals to reach Africa to help end the Ebola epidemic, he explained.

“The strong preference here is to keep the transportation system open, but safe,” he said, reminding reporters that passengers traveling through African airports were visually scanned, asked to fill out questionnaires, and had their temperature taken.

Earnest added that in response to the Ebola case in Dallas, federal government officials had “recirculated guidance”…

WH says it has Ebola virus under control – By Sarah Ferris – 10/03/14 05:52 PM EDT

The WH claims they have this under control. During the past 6 years I can’t think of anything they have actually had under control with one exception the national press i.e. ABC, NBA, CBS, CNN, and MSNBC. The disaster in Dallas has yet to play out because the symptoms of having Ebola can take up to 3 weeks to show up. That means that the direct infections from Duncan will all be active by the end of October. Since that will only be two weeks till the election Obama will not want this issue out there as it could effect the outcome so there will be an effort to suppress the news on this issue. My rough estimate based on the available information would be 30 to 60 new cases by the end of the month, and they will not all be in Dallas. Lets hope the media will put politics aside on this issue and get the reporting right — this could be very very bad!

Top White House officials on Friday worked to reassure the American public that the national response to Ebola is under control.

Leaders of the country’s health, defense and military branches stressed that they are taking the right steps to contain the spread of the deadly virus, which was first diagnosed in the U.S. on Tuesday.

“We know how to do this, and we will do it again,” Lisa Monaco, assistant to the president for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, said at a press briefing.

“It’s very important to remind the American people that U.S. has the most capable healthcare system and the most capable doctors in the world, bar none,” Monaco said.

The press conference appeared to be aimed at calming a public worried about a possible outbreak in the United States of the disease, which has killed more than 3,000 people in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.
