.@GavinNewsom, stop the reckless threats and demonization of our law enforcement. America deserves better than this.
No amount of political fundraising or posturing to extremists and activists will make America better for our children. That is who we are fighting for: the next… pic.twitter.com/YLWleB7q9U
Democratic-run states and cities have waged war on ICE agents over migration policies. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported a 413% increase in violent physical assaults on ICE officers back in June, but that number has more than doubled to 1,000% due to the ongoing political rhetoric that these agents are kidnapping innocent people. California’s Governor Gavin Newsom implemented the first legislation in the nation prohibiting ICE agents from wearing facial masks.
“What are you afraid of?” Newsom mocked ICE officers as supporters cheered. These men and women have been doxxed online. Home addresses, names of family members, and in some instances, where their children attend school, are circulating on the internet. Certain Republic-led states like Tennessee and Florida have introduced legislation to ban doxxing practices. Florida routinely conducts check-ins and patrols to ensure the safety of ICE agents and their families.
Mobs of angry protestors commonly surround ICE raids, and violence ensues. Pictures of agents circulate online forums where deranged individuals seek out their personal information to stalk and harass federal agents. Democrats have encouraged the aggression. “Every single ICE agent who’s engaged in this aggressive overreach and are trying to hide their identities from the American people will be unsuccessful in doing that,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said.
The “No Secret Police Act” implemented by Newsom is intended to act as a counter to “lawless immigration raids.” Newsom claims there are anti-doxxing laws in place in California. “If you’re going to go down that path, do judges then start getting masked? Do elected officials start masking themselves? Does anyone that’s on the receiving end of modern day bullying as it relates to online activity?” Elected officials such as Newsom are surrounded by security at all times. ICE agents are offered no such protections and must physically protect themselves for assaults that seem inevitable in these blue-run areas that favor criminal behavior.
Newsom forgets that federal law will always supersede state law. The Supremacy Clause (Article VI) states that the US Constitution is the “supreme law of the land” that takes precedence over any and all state laws or constitutions.
His statements are purely political posturing and theater. No police officer would dare to arrest a federal law enforcement agent and risk public humiliation or potential criminal charges.

Fauci admits that masks don’t work for the public at large but still absurdly claims masks work on an individual basis. More subterfuge. pic.twitter.com/UcjOa8flkr
Remember when peer-reviewed scientific studies proved that masking did not protect against the spread or transmission of COVID-19? California lawmakers only recall the immense power granted to them through COVID-19 mandates. On September 1, 2025, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) issued a warning to the public–“Protect yourself and your loved ones by considering masking in indoor public places like airports and planes. Wear a high-quality mask like an N95, KN95 or KF94 to stay protected.”
California gripped onto mask mandates longer than most US states. Governor Gavin Newsom was frequently photographed without a mask, disregarding his own social distancing protocols, but he maintained that Californians could not breathe freely in public without a mask for nearly two years.
Mask mandates have not been reimplemented, but “encouraging” masking is precisely how the mandate began. “I am concerned that people will not abide by [masking] recommendations,” Fauci said during the midst of the pandemic. “We’re not talking about mandates or forcing anybody, but when you have a situation where the volume of cases in society gets to a reasonably high level, the vulnerable, the elderly, those with underlying conditions, are going to be more susceptible, if they do get infected, of getting severe disease leading to hospitalization. We know that. That’s a fact,” Fauci told reporters at CNN.
Fauci later admitted that mask mandates were completely ineffective after being interrogated by Rand Paul:
US District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle determined that the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) violated the law by forcing travelers to wear masks. Furthermore, the CDC overstepped bounds by placing a mandate on personal behavior rather than “cleaning measure,” which is under their authority. It was not until this pandemic that the CDC was granted dictatorship powers over our lives.
After 22 months of preventing free breathing, the CDC admitted that cloth masks were never effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19. The Democrats proposed spending $5 billion to distribute N95 masks to every American as a “welcome to the pandemic” package, but rerouted those funds to climate change initiatives.
Countless studies have concluded that mask mandates caused more harm than good. There was NEVER a reason for the public to walk around with a useless piece of fabric over their faces. It was a humiliation ritual of government muzzling on a near-global scale to see how far the masses would go to obey government authority.
“Wearing masks in the community probably makes little or no difference to the outcome of influenza‐like illness/COVID‐19-like illness compared to not wearing masks. … Wearing masks in the community probably makes little or no difference to the outcome of laboratory‐confirmed influenza/SARS‐CoV‐2 compared to not wearing masks.”
Blindly obeying government during the pandemic became a religion. Vaccination status and masking became a sign of virtue and piousness in the eyes of the government’s flock of obedient sheep. We did not have the ability to share ideas and were censored from learning the truth. The truth has been revealed—COVID mandates were a global social experiment to test our obedience to authority. California lawmakers see their authority slipping as the federal government begins to step in. Their solution is to muzzle the willing and repeat the psyop game of masquerading their longing for control as a public health measure.

California has been repelling capital through overregulation. The energy sector high-tailed out of the state in recent years under Governor Gavin Newsom’s net-zero policies. Now, even retailers feel forced to evacuate as California becomes increasingly anti-business.
Bed Bath & Beyond announced that it must close all retail stores within the state of California. “This decision isn’t about politics—it’s about reality,” company head Marcus Lemonis said in a social media post. “California has created one of the most overregulated, expensive, and risky environments for businesses in America. It’s a system that makes it harder to employ people, harder to keep doors open, and harder to deliver value to customers.”
Newsom’s office commented that Bed Bath & Beyond was already a dead business, failing to take any responsibility. To begin, California’s minimum wage continues to rise year after year at a pace unsustainable for businesses. Automation is replacing the human workforce, and some studies have shown that minimum wage workers in California are simply receiving fewer working hours as employers aim to cut costs.
Newsom believes he can continue spending and rescue the state from the debt through taxation. Fleeing businesses can’t pay taxes, and California forces both businesses and residents to pay some of the highest taxes in the nation. All corporations operating in the state must pay a flat corporate income tax rate of 8.84% on net income. Banks and financial institutions pay a bit more at 10.84%. There is an annual franchise tax of $800 for businesses as well. But wait—corporations are still beholden to the 21% federal corporate income tax, which means businesses are paying roughly 29.84% on corporate income taxes alone.
Payroll taxes in California are higher than the national average, largely due to social programs like State Disability Insurance (SDI) and the Employment Training Tax (ETT), which must be paid in addition to Unemployment Insurance (UI). There is a personal income tax withholding of up to 14.63% that employers must withhold from employees as well.
The state was forced to overturn its policy regarding shoplifting and burglary after criminals used the minimum $950 amount for petty theft to avoid felony charges. Countless businesses shuttered their brick-and-mortar locations as a direct result of light-on-crime policies.
Capital flees excessive regulation and it’s almost a no-brainer for corporations to move beyond state lines where operating costs are drastically lower.

Politicians, NGOs, and shady nonprofits have been profiting on California’s homeless crisis for years. Taxpayers continue to pour money into the situation, without their consent, but the unhoused population continues to rise. I’ve spoken out about this blatant ongoing corruption numerous times. Once again, California Democrats have found a way to steal tens of millions from taxpayers under the guise of fixing the homeless epidemic.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors in Torrance has plans to purchase a $30 million building with 122 units under Governor Gavin Newsom’s Homekey+ plan. The first glaring discrepancy is pricing—city leaders appraised the building to be worth between $9.2 million and $10.2 million. Why are politicians demanding an additional $20 million?
The Torrance City Council unanimously voted against the project back in May 2025, stating that it would be a threat to public safety. The selected location is also near the main commercial hub of the city, which would detract customers, and would also be located near a middle school. The city of Torrance proposed two alternative locations for the homeless center, and yet, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors denied both options despite them being city-owned.
“Our responsibility as a city is to listen to our residents and act in a way that reflects our community’s values,” said Torrance Mayor George K. Chen. “The results of this independent appraisal reinforce the concerns many in our city have already raised.”
The extent of corruption goes deeper. The 2025 LAHSA Point-in-Time Count compiled by the county, as reported by RedState, found that there are only 50 homeless people regularly living in Torrance. Worse, there are 171 existing in place for those 50 individuals. There is a tiny home village in Torrance with space for 40 people, but only 9 people chose to leave the streets to live there and the pilot program was considered a failure.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is acting recklessly and wasting public funds for their own gain. There would be no need for these organizations if the homeless crisis were actually solved.

The city of Los Angeles declared a state of fiscal emergency amid a $1 billion deficit. The council approved of the emergency declaration unanimously in a 14-0 vote. This comes after Mayor Karen Bass approved a $14 billion budget for the fiscal year that began on July 1. The city is a prime example of what happens when socialist policies are allowed to run rampant at the expense of the people.
Bass approved of raising the budget from $12.9 billion in FY2024-25 to $14 billion in 2025-26 despite the looming $1 billion deficit. Unsurprisingly, overspending is the main culprit for the deficit, and yet, lawmakers have every intention of spending more. Over 600 public sector workers will be let go as a result of fiscal mismanagement, and although small government is usually applaudable, the city plans to fire 248 LAPD employees, 44 sanitation workers, and 41 firefighters. LA is experiencing a significant uptick in crime, but plans to defund the police to appease the mobs.
California Governor Gavin Newsom boasts of California’s robust economy but fails to acknowledge that it’s a state basically living “paycheck-to-paycheck,” with the payee being the taxpayer. Read the state’s plan to cover its budget deficits – endless taxes. Spending growth from 2025-26 to 2028-29 is 5.8%, above the average of 3.5%. Growth over the same period is just above 4%, “lower than its historical average, largely due to policy choices that end during the forecast window. Taken together, we view it as unlikely that revenue growth will be fast enough to catch up to ongoing spending.” Even residents who choose or are forced to leave the state will incur taxes to cover government thievery. Los Angeles is one of countless examples of how the public sector will virtue signal to rob Peter, not to pay Paul, but to pay themselves, as they are not hiding the corruption.
Liability costs totaled $546 million in the past years, as there have been numerous lawsuits, mainly involving the Los Angeles Police Department, which is forbidden by law to enforce order. The city refused to budget for these growing legal battles. Not only does the city plan to fire officers, but they also reduced hiring by 50% last year, recruiting 240 new officers instead of the 480 needed to patrol the city.
I’ve reported numerous times how California uses the homeless epidemic to fund NGOs that merely steal from the taxpayers. Mayor Bass stated she plans to cut 10% of funding to the “Inside Safe” program. The city has spent millions on combating homelessness, and the numbers continue to rise.
Crime is more expensive than funding the LAPD. Criminals have cost the city of Los Angeles an estimated $7.6 billion annually. Gang violence alone costs the city around $1 billion per year, according to the Vera Institute of Justice, which is half of the annual budget of the LAPD. The California Department of Justice has acknowledged that property crime has risen in recent years and accounts for 60–70% of total losses. Yet, violent demonstrations are permitted to occur whenever Washington enacts a policy that displeases the Democrats.
Blue policies such as the net-zero climate initiative have caused businesses to flee Los Angeles and California as a whole. From 2020 to the present day, over 164 companies have left California. In the last year, 12 major companies like SpaceX, Chevron, X, and KFC have fled CA for TX. Los Angeles shed 106 corporate headquarters between 2018 and 2024, the second-highest number of losses in US metros behind San Francisco/San Jose.
Taxpayers are fleeing the state en masse. State and local taxes are among the highest in the nation and disproportionately harm the middle and upper classes to fund the growing public sector. Energy costs have skyrocketed, with major refiners abandoning California. Gas is expected to rise 75% by 2026, and residents are already paying the highest price for gas in the nation. The cost of living is exorbitant. Those who can have already fled as the government must continue to leech of the taxpayers to fund their failures.
There should be checks and balances against these elected officials who recklessly spend with no end in sight. Downsizing the police force is a political move that will only cause crime and the costs associated with crime to rise. Los Angeles is becoming a failed city as a direct result of socialist policies that have historically NEVER worked.
