The Kremlin is announcing that President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have agreed to meet in person and have agreed to the venue.  The meeting will take place “in coming days,” which indicates soon.

LONDON — The Kremlin on Thursday said Russia President Vladimir Putin agreed to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump, though a specific date or location has yet to be announced.

Putin adviser Yuri Ushakov said that a “meeting between Putin and Trump (will take place) in the coming days,” adding that “work on the summit has now begun,” the Kremlin says.

Ushakov said that White House special envoy Steve Witkoff had raised the idea of a trilateral meeting between Putin, Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy but that the upcoming meeting would only be between Trump and Putin, the Kremlin said.

“The venue of the meeting between the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, has been agreed, and the Kremlin will inform about it later,” Ushakov said.

Though no specific location was disclosed, Ushakov suggested that Russia was “many friends who are ready to help us organize such events.”

“One of them is the President of the United Arab Emirates. I think we will decide, but it would be one of the most suitable, quite suitable places,” Ushakov said.

No date or location has been confirmed by either Russia or the United States. (read more)

HERE is the direct question response from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Question: Given the recent news about your upcoming meeting with President Trump, who initiated it?

President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Both sides expressed interest. At this point, who reached out first is no longer relevant.

Question: Could you clarify please? Your Aide Yury Ushakov mentioned that the meeting will likely happen next week. Do you have any details on the location – even just a hint?

Vladimir Putin: We have many friends willing to help organize such events. One of them is the President of the United Arab Emirates. The exact venue is still being decided, but the UAE would be one of the suitable options.

Question: What about Zelensky? Will you be meeting with him?

Vladimir Putin: I have said repeatedly that I have no objection to meeting with him in principle – it is possible. But certain conditions must be in place first. Unfortunately, we are still far from that point.

President Trump Releases Statement on Putin/Witkoff Meeting

Posted originally on CTH on August 6, 2025 | Sundance

Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff held another meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier today. This is the fifth meeting between Steve Witkoff and Vladimir Putin.

Witkoff has spent more time with Putin than any government official in recent history.

“My Special Envoy, Steve Witkoff, just had a highly productive meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Great progress was made! Afterwards, I updated some of our European Allies. Everyone agrees this War must come to a close, and we will work towards that in the days and weeks to come. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” ~ President Trump

Assistant to the President of Russia, Yuri Ushakov, on negotiations with Witkoff:

The US President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff was received by our president today. A very useful and constructive conversation took place. If we name the topics, first of all, of course, it is the Ukrainian crisis. And the second topic is the prospects for possible development of strategic cooperation between the US and Russia.

On our side, in particular on the Ukrainian issue, some signals were conveyed. Corresponding signals were received from President Trump as well.

The situation now is that our president has full information, that is, our signals and signals from President Trump. And Trump has not yet been informed about the results of this meeting. Therefore, I would refrain from more detailed comments. Let’s see when Witkoff can report to Trump about today’s conversation. After that, obviously, I will be able to supplement my comments more substantially.

James Comer Issues House Subpoenas for Epstein Files and Witnesses

Posted originally on CTH on August 5, 2025 | Sundance

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has issued a series of subpoenas for records and testimony from former government officials that pertain to Jeffrey Epstein.

The House Oversight Committee is usually the place where investigations go to die.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton: October 9; Former President Bill Clinton: October 14; Former U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland: October 2; Former FBI Director James Comey: October 7; Former U.S. Attorney General William Barr: August 18; Former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales: August 26; Former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions: August 28; Former FBI Director Robert Mueller: September 2; Former U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch: September 9; and Former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder: September 30.

WASHINGTON DC – The House Oversight Committee on Tuesday issued subpoenas for Department of Justice records on the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, as well as for interviews with a slate of former government officials in connection to the case.

Oversight Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) announced that he was summoning nearly a dozen former officials to appear for depositions on the Epstein investigation — a list that includes former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Comer was required to send the subpoenas after a Democratic-led subcommittee vote in July.

The move is the latest in a broader battle over the Epstein files, which took the Trump administration by storm last month as anger boiled over from within MAGA circles about the administration’s handling of the case. (read more)

President Donald Trump called in to CNBC for a discussion of current events and factors impacting the economy.

It is a lengthy interview and there’s a very interesting part at 23:07 when Andrew Ross Sorkin asks President Trump to justify his claim that banks discriminate against conservatives, because Sorkin is meeting with the head of Bank of America later today.  What happens next in the interview leaves Sorkin speechless.

President Trump outlines his personal experience where JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America debanked Donald Trump.  Sorkin quietly disappears and the conversation quickly switches topics.  WATCH (prompted):
