The topic of discussion is their new sea surface temperature dataset, ERSST.v4.  Based on a breakpoint analysis recently promoted by RealClimate, NOAA appears to have reduced the early 20^th Century warming rate to agree with the climate models used by the IPCC.

Before data tampering by NCDC, US temperatures show essentially zero correlation with atmospheric CO2. Climate sensitivity of zero.

The headline from Lung Disease News says U.S. Environmental Agency Grants $4.5 Million to Improve Indoor Air Quality, Reduce Lung Diseases Like Asthma. 

It’s part of a three year program “with the main purpose of preventing future deaths due to lung cancer through the reduction of exposure to radon and mitigating the current risks that lead to asthma attacks and visits to the hospital through the improvement of infrastructures. In addition, the grants also seek to address other poor health consequences by improving the quality of indoor air and promoting best practices and policies.”

Sounds like lofty and worthy goals, but by the time the money gets passed around to the various groups, it’s advertising money spread thinly.  The grant is likely not to do much more than support groups that support the EPA.

As I said a while back (The limits of Climate Hysteria) we’ve now reached the stage in these “climate wars” whereby the climate itself is the main combatant forcing the ranks of the delusional public academia, to be dragged kicking and screaming to the reality of our ever varying climate, as the climate itself now imposes discipline where the idiots in the so called “institutions” of so-called “science” failed.

In other words, when we only had a few years of data and a lot of climate variables, it was far far too easy to “investigate” the most worrying trends and then to further cherry pick the data. Then to write up this…
