Perhaps the most significant infrastructure project in recent Italian history is the proposal to build a bridge connecting Sicily to the mainland. The Strait of Messina Bridge would be the world’s longest single-span suspension bridge, spanning 2.05 miles (3.3 kilometers), connecting Calabria to Sicily. The government is seeking ways to generate the €13.5 billion (around $15.6 billion) in funding, and one new proposal is to count it toward NATO spending.
Italy has proposed that the Strait of Messina be included in its 5% NATO spending target. The Italian government believes that the bridge could be used to facilitate the movement of troops, military vehicles, and aid from Sicily to the mainland in the event of war. Since the bridge has the potential for dual usage, Italy is urging NATO to permit it to count it toward their contribution.
The US ambassador of NATO, Matthew Whitaker, immediately shot down the idea, attributing the notion to “creative accounting.” “It should not include bridges that have no strategic military value,” Whitaker warned, “It’s not schools that somehow, in fantasy land, would be for some military reason.” Instead, the ambassador believes all contributions must be related to “hard defense capabilities” such as military equipment or spending on Ukrainian infrastructure. Basically, spend on the US military industrial complex or directly on Ukraine with no room for margin.
Yet, the stipulation is for nations to spend 1.5% of their 5% obligation on infrastructure projects. The allied troops certainly could have used a bridge from Sicily to the mainland during World War II. The NAS Sigonella is located in Sicily as one of the larger NATO bases. The US also has a Naval Air Station in Sicily as the US was awarded some land in Sicily in 1957.
The Italian government responded as a good colony of the European Union. The Transport and Infrastructure Ministry (MIT) clarified that there is no plan to use NATO resources to fund the project. “The Strait of Messina Bridge is already entirely financed by State resources, and no defense funds are earmarked,” it said. “The possible use of NATO resources is not currently on the agenda, and, above all, it is not an absolute necessity.” However, that was never the issue as Italy was merely requesting the 13.5 billion euros to count toward its spending obligation.
All of these alliances come with strings attached. NATO, similar to the EU, benefits those at the top who dictate how others are to spend their funds in a way that ensures the top contributors benefit more than the others.

The number of unemployed Americans now outnumbers available job openings. Data from July show 7.24 million unemployed Americans compared to 7.18 million job openings, marking the first time that the unemployed have outnumbered the number of available jobs since April 2021.
This is precisely what we see during stagflation and a structural labor shift. Companies are cutting costs due to regulations, taxation, and inflation that have never meaningfully waned since the pandemic. AI automation has replaced countless positions, and when companies do choose to hire, they are often seeking new hires from outside the US, where the cost of labor is cheaper.
The fact that job openings are now falling below the number of unemployed is a warning that we are entering the next phase of the economic decline into 2026. Just as the ECM has forecast, confidence is shifting. Employers are reluctant to expand, workers are squeezed by inflation and the cost of living, and the political response will be more regulation, higher taxes, and demands for wage hikes that only accelerate the cycle downward.
Around 60% of recent college graduates cannot find employment. Entry-level jobs are being replaced by AI or outsourced overseas and the unemployment rate for those aged 20 to 29 is 7.1% compared to the national average of 4.3%. Previously, college graduates had lower unemployment rates than the national average, as those inexperienced employees were the cheap labor that companies were seeking.
Stagflation is the combination of rising prices with a stagnant or declining economy. Here, you have unemployment rising as job openings vanish, while at the same time, food, insurance, shelter, and taxation continue to rise. People are struggling to make ends meet. The central bank and politicians are reluctant to use the word “stagflation,” as everyone wants the public to believe that the economy is growing rather than stagnating.

QUESTION: Hi Martin,
Considering the potential influence of AI, also taking into account the behaviour of the 80 percent that went with the COVID narrative, I was wondering. The AI is being fed by human interaction on the internet, probably somewhere else as well, but very much directed. Now that does not seem to direct to a real advancement, does it? What if the human spirit will be directed to a more animal like behaviour? Like a programmed nature thing that birds show. Go south in winter and go north in spring to get your food. ANSWER: I have been involved in AI, actually, since the late 1960s. I have explained how the TV show Star Trek not only secured funding from Congress for NASA’s Moon mission and named the first Space Shuttle, Enterprise, but also inspired us in the computer industry to dream big. We all knew each other back then. Even the clamshell flip communicators used by the crew of the USS Enterprise are a clear visual and conceptual precursor to the flip phones that dominated the market before the iPhone, and by extension, the iPhone itself.
While Steve never said, “I copied the Communicator,” he did explicitly reference Star Trek when introducing the iPhone. At the 2007 Macworld keynote, while demonstrating the iPhone’s multi-touch interface for the first time, he said, “Boy, have we patented it!” This was a direct and knowing wink to the “pinch-to-zoom” and swipe gestures that looked exactly like the magic interfaces everyone had seen in science fiction for decades, with Star Trek being the prime example. The idea of a sleek, portable, handheld device used for instant communication, information access, and computation is pure Star Trek. The iPhone made that science fiction a reality.
Long before tablets were a practical reality, Star Trek: The Next Generation featured characters using flat, touch-screen devices called PADDs (Personal Access Display Devices). The crew members would carry these thin, slate-like devices to read reports, access data, and input commands. They were used exactly as we use tablets today: for reading, browsing, and as a portable terminal. When Steve introduced the iPad, he framed it as a new category of device between a laptop and a smartphone. For any fan of Star Trek, it was immediately recognizable as the realization of the PADD. The form factor, the touch interface, and its purpose as an information consumption device were all directly inspired by that vision of the future.
The idea of talking to your computer and it talking back to you in a natural, conversational way was a staple of Star Trek. The crew could walk onto the bridge and ask the computer any question and get a verbal answer. In the early 1980s, I was working with Dragon System when this was all hardware. Today it is software. My kids grew up talking to the computer. They were my guinea pigs to teach Socrates how even to have a conversation with them. My daughter thought it was completely normal and would ask her friends, You don’t talk to your father’s computer? She would bring her girlfriends over, and they would be stunned.
This vision of a voice-activated, intelligent assistant is the entire concept behind Siri (which Apple acquired and integrated into the iPhone) and other voice assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant. The goal was to create the Star Trek computer: an intuitive, omnipresent interface that required no keyboard.
The inspiration wasn’t just about specific gadgets. It was also about a philosophy. In Star Trek, technology isn’t clunky. It’s intuitive, elegant, and seamlessly integrated into daily life. It just works. This was a step back, a second, and take a look at Steve’s core design principle for Apple products. The glowing, glass-like, multi-touch displays of the LCARS system in Star Trek: The Next Generation were a radical departure from the blinking command prompts of 1980s computers. They presented a vision of computing that was visual, graphical, and friendly—a vision Apple brought to life first with the Macintosh and later with iOS.
There’s a wonderful, direct link between Steve’s company, NeXT, and Star Trek. In the mid-1990s, the development team for the video game Star Trek: The Next Generation – A Final Unity used NeXT computers as their development platform. They even sent a letter to Steve (on a NeXT computer, of course) asking for permission to use the NeXTstep operating system’s alert sound as the beep for Geordi La Forge’s communicator badge. Steve, of course, instantly agreed.
Steve Jobs’ brilliance lay in his compelling vision of the future, inspired by science fiction, and in applying Apple’s design and engineering prowess to make it a reality. He didn’t invent the concepts of the smartphone, tablet, or voice assistant, but their most popular and idealized depictions directly inspired him in Star Trek. He was far more inspired by Star Trek than most would ever imagine. We all were!
Then Came the Intelligence
Beyond the gadgets, how can we create a computer that truly understands you and conducts legitimate, original research? There were two theories running around. The original path that 99% of those in AI followed, except me, was the core idea that a neural web (or network) could mimic the brain and that complexity, which could lead to consciousness. This theory is primarily credited to Warren McCulloch and Walter Pitts, known as the Foundational Theory: McCulloch and Pitts (1943).
Because I had to do the electrical engineering learning how to create a computer from the ground up, I saw the obvious connection between the McCulloch-Pitts (MCP) neuron, proposed in their seminal 1943 paper, “A Logical Calculus of Ideas Immanent in Nervous Activity,” which was explicitly and directly based on the principles of electrical circuits and Boolean logic.
To be a good trader, you also require visual skills, which enable you to see patterns within patterns. So while the software guys were all enamored with the McCulloch and Pitts theory, I rejected that idea after doing my own testing. IBM is spending over $1 billion and employing over 3000 people to create its Watson, which they believe will be able to cure cancer.
The documentary film Man vs. The Machine was about the famous chess match between Deep Blue and Garry Kasparov. He beat the computer at first. When the final match took place and Deep Blue beat Kasparov, IBM’s shares rose 15% and they would not grant him a rematch.
Real Artificial Intelligence is something that learns and analyzes on its own to create its own conclusion. In all honesty, 99.999% of what people present as AI are simply expert systems that can be distinguished relatively easily because all they are doing is looking up some subject from rule-based systems. The neural nets were supposed to be the great hope.
IBM’s Watson could search the entire internet and gather every piece of information possible. That was the easy part. What IBM lacked was the expertise in conducting research. How do you determine which piece of information is more important than another? They were unable to develop a genuine analysis capability. All of these AI programs are interesting. However, I have tested them to see the results, and if the sources they base their comment on are FAKE NEWS, they cannot analyze whether the information is fake or real.
The presumption was that our minds are just supercomputers, all stems from the 1943 theory of McCulloch and Pitts. They ignored perhaps the critical understanding of what makes one person brilliant at math and another a brilliant artist who can’t count beyond 1,000.
This theory that our minds are simply supercomputers ignores some critical traits and how to distinguish one person from another. There was this idea that if you create a neural net and stuff in all this knowledge, it will learn all by itself. This was just a giant fiction to me, which was up there with the theory that somehow the machine will come to life and decide it wants to rule the world and take over humankind.
My approach was to teach them HOW to analyze, not WHAT to analyze. I incorporated as much of myself as possible into the code, without the human flaws that make life interesting. I taught Socrates how to analyze, rather than relying on the chance of a neural net that cannot be tested. I’ve chosen a completely different path, rejecting the black-box approach of throwing in a heap of information, shaking well, and hoping for the best, like James Bond. WATSON failed because they followed McCulloch and Pitts, when I did not.
What McCulloch and Pitts overlooked is that the brain is far more complex than a simple AND OR CIRCUIT. You may have met your first love in a restaurant, and returning to that place suddenly and involuntarily brought back that memory. Or you hear that song that was playing, and again you involuntarily retrieve that memory, or perhaps it may have been the food.
Our brain does not function as an electrical circuit using Boolean logic. Going down that path creates impressive retrievers, but by no means will they EVER produce actual original analysis. That is simply impossible.
Most know I have two French Bulldogs. They each have their own unique personality, just like humans. As I delved deeper into how we actually think, I discovered that my dogs think in the same functional manner, looking at patterns and remembering from past experiences. I get up with my coffee cup, and they know where I am going. They anticipate my actions.
The general consensus among dog experts and trainers is that the average dog can learn around 165 words, with the most intelligent breeds (like Border Collies and Poodles) capable of learning 250 or more. They understand what I say, but some words I have to spell, so they don’t always know what I am saying. I feel sometimes I have to do that in Washington, DC, as well. As I have pointed out, even a lion can love a human.
I’m sorry, but neither our minds nor those of animals function in this simplistic electrical circuit manner using Boolean logic. This is why Socrates has been able to do actual research and teach me a thing or two. However, it lacks the expertise in the medical field to cure cancer. These AI language-based programs can be impressive if you do not understand the coding and capabilities behind the design. They are remarkable retrieval aids, but do not expect them to forecast World War III and IV.

Following the meeting, which was attended by Zelensky, the Petit Napoleon Macron, pushing to conquer Russia, said that 26 countries – including the UK and France – have pledged to deploy troops in Ukraine as a “reassurance force” in the event of a ceasefire. They know what they are doing. This is the prelude to a false flag to realize their dream to finally conquer Russia, grab the $75 trillion in assets, and refund the European Union, which cannot last much beyond 2028. The two countries that may need an IMF bailout are France and Britain. It’s no surprise that they are cheering war because the alternative is cutting all the aid for the migrants, pensions, and social programs that they know will cause massive civil unrest.
Vladimir Putin is not stupid. If I were him, the economic decay of the EU would be a clear sign of desperation for war. Putin made it clear that in the absence of a real peace deal, which is just honoring the Minsk Agreement that they all swore to and signed, letting the Donbas separate, Russia will have to achieve its goals “by military means.”
Back in July, the NEOCON Kaja Kallas, who has openly called for the breakup of Russia, displayed her incompetence being conflicted by personal hatred of Russians for the days of Stalin. She had a catastrophic meeting with China’s High Commissioner for Foreign Relations, lecturing him on EU values and democracy, despite neither she nor Ursula having been elected. She then demanded that China submit to the rules-based order of the EU and unimaginably demanded that China condemn Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, cease providing support, and use its influence to tell Putin to surrender and stop Russia’s advance westward.
Wang Yi respectfully stated that China was not helping Russia in the conflict with Ukraine. He added that he had no intention of interfering in that conflict. Moreover, he bluntly informed Kallas that China had no intention of standing idly by and watching Russia lose. He stated that China believes that if Russia were defeated, the EU and NATO would turn on China next. It was reported that observers never saw Wang Yi so angry at the arrogance of Kallas.
The United States, the EU, and Britain are all firmly in the hands of the NEOCONS. Trump’s call to these European leaders telling them to stop buying Russian Oil and to put pressure on China is PRECISELY a NEOCON tactic that has NEVER worked, and will never work.

Remember when peer-reviewed scientific studies proved that masking did not protect against the spread or transmission of COVID-19? California lawmakers only recall the immense power granted to them through COVID-19 mandates. On September 1, 2025, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) issued a warning to the public–“Protect yourself and your loved ones by considering masking in indoor public places like airports and planes. Wear a high-quality mask like an N95, KN95 or KF94 to stay protected.”
California gripped onto mask mandates longer than most US states. Governor Gavin Newsom was frequently photographed without a mask, disregarding his own social distancing protocols, but he maintained that Californians could not breathe freely in public without a mask for nearly two years.
Mask mandates have not been reimplemented, but “encouraging” masking is precisely how the mandate began. “I am concerned that people will not abide by [masking] recommendations,” Fauci said during the midst of the pandemic. “We’re not talking about mandates or forcing anybody, but when you have a situation where the volume of cases in society gets to a reasonably high level, the vulnerable, the elderly, those with underlying conditions, are going to be more susceptible, if they do get infected, of getting severe disease leading to hospitalization. We know that. That’s a fact,” Fauci told reporters at CNN.
Fauci later admitted that mask mandates were completely ineffective after being interrogated by Rand Paul:
US District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle determined that the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) violated the law by forcing travelers to wear masks. Furthermore, the CDC overstepped bounds by placing a mandate on personal behavior rather than “cleaning measure,” which is under their authority. It was not until this pandemic that the CDC was granted dictatorship powers over our lives.
After 22 months of preventing free breathing, the CDC admitted that cloth masks were never effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19. The Democrats proposed spending $5 billion to distribute N95 masks to every American as a “welcome to the pandemic” package, but rerouted those funds to climate change initiatives.
Countless studies have concluded that mask mandates caused more harm than good. There was NEVER a reason for the public to walk around with a useless piece of fabric over their faces. It was a humiliation ritual of government muzzling on a near-global scale to see how far the masses would go to obey government authority.

Blindly obeying government during the pandemic became a religion. Vaccination status and masking became a sign of virtue and piousness in the eyes of the government’s flock of obedient sheep. We did not have the ability to share ideas and were censored from learning the truth. The truth has been revealed—COVID mandates were a global social experiment to test our obedience to authority. California lawmakers see their authority slipping as the federal government begins to step in. Their solution is to muzzle the willing and repeat the psyop game of masquerading their longing for control as a public health measure.
Deputy Minister Agila Barzdienė believes that joining the European Union was the economic “reset” the nation needed. On the surface, Lithuania’s GDP has risen since joining the EU in 2004, but this is not the product of some magical European design.
“Economically, it’s an obvious leap. Lithuania’s GDP has almost doubled, foreign direct investment has increased eightfold, exports have increased sixfold. Wages have increased sixfold, and inflation has been kept at 2%,” Barzdienė stated. “For example, in 2004 the average Lithuanian could not afford a good cup of coffee in Milan, but today he does not feel the difference between Vilnius, London or Lisbon, and this is an important indicator. Now the average pre-tax salary is about 2000 euros, after that it is 1300-1400 euros. By 2030 we hope to reach 90% of the EU average salary.”
The growth was largely the result of capital inflows, cheap credit, and foreign investment chasing “new” markets after the fall of the Soviet Union. The EU absorbed these nations, promising prosperity if they would only surrender their sovereignty. Lithuania has benefited in the short run, but it is now just as handcuffed to Brussels’ mandates. Net Zero policies, sanctions, and globalist directives all come with hidden costs. The Baltic states are exposed to energy insecurity after Brussels cut off Russian supplies, and yet their leaders cheer for policies that undermine their own industries. They are also on the frontlines for NATO expansion as the bloc attempts to corner Russia.
Lithuania has drastically increased defense spending in recent years as the nation braces for an alleged Russian invasion. “The government is striving to keep at least 1.3 billion euros from the defense budget (in 2026 it will be 5-6% of GDP) in the national economy. Investments are being made in startups in the defense sector, and the DEVITUS program has been created with a budget of 300 million euros,” the deputy minister commented.

Yet, the nation believes it is closer to war than ever before as a result of its alliance with the EU. Lithuania has implemented a new defense mechanism to prevent a land invasion—dragon teeth. These “dragon teeth” are large triangular concrete blocks that are intended to block the path of war tanks. “We are starting from the tactical level — specific obstacles on the border — and later we will combine the entire engineering plan into one conceptual system,” said Raimundas Vaiksnoras, commander of the Lithuanian army.
Lithuania will hold the rotating presidency of the EU Council in 2027. By 2027, according to the computer models, the world will begin to feel the full impact of war, and discontent will rise into 2028. Moldova was sold the globalist dream of Brussels. The short-term pay off is not expected to last.
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is rallying the people to begin an insurrection, but of course, it is (D)ifferent. “Are you prepared to defend this land that was built by slaves and indigenous people?” the mayor asked, urging the people to “resist” the US National Guard, while of course, adding in divisive racial political rhetoric.
Rather than urging the people to band together toward peace, Brandon Johnson would like the people to fight American troops in favor of dangerous criminals. The federal government does not have the authority to deploy troops to prevent overall crime, however, the federal government can and will deploy troops to expel illegal migrants.
The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 4,775 people in the Chicago Area of Responsibility in the first four months of the year, which expands beyond Illinois to five neighboring states. As reported by ABC, 47% of those arrested has prior criminal convictions, and 35% were wanted for criminal charges. Only 18% of those arrested in that four-month period had no prior ties to criminal activity. The majority of the people deported from the Chicago area are Venezuelan or Mexican nationals who commonly have ties to criminal organizations. Chicago and Illinois in general has become a refuge for criminals as blue policies permit crime and favor the criminal over the common man.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson continually praise the recent 30% drop in crime. Sorry, but the inner city is nearly an active war zone. Chicago had the most homicides in absolute numbers for 13 consecutive years. Yet, arrest rates remain extremely low at 16.2% despite 147,899 reported crimes since January 1, 2025. President Trump noted that Chicago’s murder rate was double that of Islamabad and nearly 15 times that of Delhi. There were 573 homicides in 2024, but blue lawmakers praise the 8% decrease from the 620 homicides in 2023.
What exactly does Johnson and the Democrats propose the people do to “fight” the National Guard? An insurrection is defined as “a violent uprising against an authority or government.” Johnson and Pritzker are stirring the pot and pushing the people to revolt to maintain power. They do not care about the safety of their constituents as their motives are purely political.

Trump-appointed EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin has been attempting to freeze $16 billion in federal funds that the Biden Administration granted to climate change NGOs. Project Veritas revealed that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) deliberately gave away BILLIONS in funds prior to Trump taking office. In a major win for the American public, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit overturned a lower court ruling that would have jeopardized the remaining $16 billion.
Despite evidence directly showing that the EPA offloaded billions in taxpayer funds ahead of Trump’s appointment, a lower court initially ruled in favor of the outgoing administration and claimed that the EPA did not have the right to block funds designated to climate groups. The latest ruling by a federal appeals court determined in a 2-1 vote that the EPA has the authority to prevent these green agencies from stealing from the American public.
People do not realize just how much money the EPA blew through on absolutely nothing. Biden admitted that the Inflation Reduction Act, the most expensive spending package in US history, was about CLIMATE CHANGE at its core and had nothing to do with inflation. Those at the EPA called the act “Biden’s climate law” and were eager to spend the $360 billion set aside for green initiatives. The Inflation Reduction Act was merely a climate change slush fund.
Efron told an undercover journalist that they were preparing to spend the money as quickly as possible right up until inauguration day. “We gave them [nonprofits] the money because… it was an insurance policy against Trump winning. Because they aren’t [a government agency], they’re safer from Republicans taking the money away,” he said. The EPA awarded nonprofits between $50 and $100 million EACH toward the end of Biden’s presidency.
The corruption is insultingly blatant. One agency was awarded a $2 BILLION grant despite only producing $100 in revenue and was tied to corrupt, failed politician Stacey Abrams. Imagine if Donald Trump awarded $2 billion to an organization that earned less than a child’s lemonade stand and had connections to a conservative ally? The absolute corruption of the past administration is unbelievable as they robbed the public blind for climate, migrants, war, and personal gain.
There is a chance that this issue could be sent to the US Supreme Court. The American people should be outraged that the government would openly spend billions to spite a political rival. The former EPA was not hurting Trump with this spending, as the people are who always bear the brunt of these political wars.

China’s military parade was historic in size, spectators, and weaponry. Known as a leader in technology, President Xi used his moment on the world stage to showcase China’s military advancements, which span from land to air and sea.
The Dong Feng 5C is a new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of launching a dozen warheads with a global strike range of over 20,000 kilometers. This is perhaps the most dangerous weapon on display, providing China with the ability to strike any nation in the world with a nuclear explosive.
Hypersonic Missiles (YJ-15, YJ-17, YJ-19, YJ-20, YJ-21 “Carrier Killer”) were also on display. These swiftly maneuverable, high-speed missiles are designed to evade traditional defenses. It is believed that these weapons could evade America’s most advanced aircraft carriers and naval vessels.
The HQ-29 Space Defense System is designed to destroy satellites. This specific weapon is part of China’s broader plan to eventually militarize space.
Extra-large Uncrewed Underwater Vehicles (XLUUVs), especially the AJX002 Sea Drone—an underwater drone designed for reconnaissance missions and spying. The underwater drone can operate fully autonomously and is allegedly not easily detectable by radar systems. AI drones and robot dogs were one of the most highly discussed weapons on display. These “robot wolves” come equipped with cameras and guns. They could assist infantry units in battle, carry equipment, or carry out surveillance missions. Think back to the US Navy SEAL raid that allegedly killed bin Laden. Those trained Belgian Malinois played an essential role in taking down the world’s most wanted terrorist. These robot wolves would have the ability to operate even more efficiently and effectively in herds.
AI is at the forefront of modern warfare. Nuclear weapons no longer require strategic positioning to hit a target and cause mass casualties. Unleashing these weapons, using them against fellow humans, would create an unrecognizable planet and permanently alter humanity. Those cheering for warfare underestimate the sheer destruction that modern technology will unleash.
