DeSantis Wins – Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines Drops COVID Vaccination Requirement

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on June 5, 2021 | Sundance | 77 Comments

The battle over COVID vaccination passports in Florida came down to a reversal by Caribbean Cruise Lines yesterday.  After Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed legislation that fined companies $5,000 per incident for requiring COVID vaccination identification Royal Caribbean backed down from the fight.

MIAMI – Royal Caribbean International will no longer require any of its cruise passengers to be vaccinated for COVID-19 as it had previously planned to.

In a press release Friday announcing cruises for sale on eight of its ships from U.S. ports this summer, starting with Freedom of the Seas from PortMiami on July 2, the company said it will recommend passengers get the COVID-19 vaccine, but not require it. The announcement is a reversal from previous statements and vaccine protocols the company submitted to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last month that said it would require all passengers at least 18 years old and older to be vaccinated.

[…] The about-face is an apparent submission to Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has insisted that there will be no exception made for cruise companies to a newly passed Florida law that fines companies $5,000 each time they ask a patron to provide proof of vaccination. (read more)

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Signs Fairness in Women’s Sports Act, Banning Transgender Males from Competing Against Female Athletes

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on June 1, 2021 | Sundance | 106 Comments

The Florida legislature passed SB1028 a bill to protect women’s competitive sports from the infiltration of male transgender athletes.  The law states that women and girls must play on the sport teams of the “biological sex” on their birth certificate. Therefore, a transgender girl whose birth certificate denotes her “biological sex” as male, cannot play on a girls’ sports team.

Governor’s Office – “The bill specifies that an athletic team or sport that is designated for females, women, or girls may not be open to students of the male sex, based on the student’s biological sex listed on the student’s official birth certificate at the time of birth. The bill applies the requirements to interscholastic, intercollegiate, intramural, or club athletic teams or sports that are sponsored by a public secondary school, high school, public college, or university institution. The bill provides civil remedies for those who suffer harm by violations of the section of law.” (link)

Despite threats from the NCAA to ban Florida from hosting NCAA championship events, today Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed the bill into law saying: “Some of these organizations say they’re not going to hold events if you do this, just let me say very clearly, in Florida, we’re going to do what’s right, we will stand up to corporations, they are not going to dictate the policies in this state. We will stand up to groups like the NCAA, who think that they should be able to dictate the policies in different states.”

SB 1028 Top Line Summary:

  • Maintains opportunities for female athletes to demonstrate their strength, skills, and athletic abilities and to provide them with opportunities to obtain recognition and accolades, college scholarships, and numerous other long-term benefits that result from participating and competing in athletic endeavors.
  • Strengthens educational opportunities for military families by allowing state universities to expand high-quality developmental laboratory schools to serve communities around military installations.
  • Paves innovative pathways for students to access industry certification and workforce education by allowing Florida College System and State University System institutions to sponsor charter schools to meet regional workforce demands.
  • Empowers students to pursue high-wage STEM professions by expanding access to the Florida Private Student Assistance Program grant award to include full-time certificate-seeking students at an aviation maintenance school.
  • Requires each public school to provide parents with information on the role swimming lessons and water safety education plays in saving lives, including free and reduced cost options for swimming lessons and safety courses.  (LINK)

Thousands of President Trump supporters took to the water for another MAGA boat parade in Jupiter Inlet, Florida (video below).  Apparently President Trump heard of the parade and gave the following statement: “Wow! I hear they have thousands and thousands of boats parading in Jupiter, despite the fact that they tried to cancel us. Everyone is having an incredible time. On this day, we especially appreciate everyone who served and fought for our great Country. I love you all! ”

A Memorial Day Message From President Trump

The people’s president, Donald J Trump, delivers a message this memorial day:

PRESIDENT TRUMP – “On this Memorial Day, we remember the fallen heroes who took their last breaths in defense of our Nation, our families, our citizens, and our sacred freedoms. The depth of their devotion, the steel of their resolve, and the purity of their patriotism has no equal in human history. On distant battlefields, in far-off oceans, and high in the skies above, they faced down our enemies and gave their lives so that America would prevail. They made the supreme sacrifice so that our people can live in safety and our Nation can thrive in peace. It is because of their gallantry that we can together, as one people, continue our pursuit of America’s glorious destiny.

We owe all that we are, and everything we ever hope to be, to these unrivaled heroes. Their memory and their legacy is immortal. Our loyalty to them and to their families is eternal and everlasting.

America’s warriors are the single greatest force for justice, peace, liberty, and security among all the nations ever to exist on earth. God bless our fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Coast Guardsmen, Airmen, and Marines. We honor them today, forever, and always.” (LINK)

We Remember, We Honor, We Celebrate

Today we honor and give thanks for all Americans who died while serving and protecting Americans, wherever far away and however brutal that task became. We celebrate the lives and sacrifice of our fallen.

I hope that we Americans are indeed offering up our prayers for those who have served and their families. I hope we remember to thank God today that we have such patriots who gave up their lives because they believed that America is our home, our land, the heart of who and what we are as not only a nation among others, but a key part of our very identity.

I like to post this video each year. It’s a fitting tribute to what we have to celebrate and observe today.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,

and let perpetual light shine upon them.

May the souls of the faithful departed,

through the mercy of God,

rest in peace.

Amen.

Appreciation and respect for our military service-members are at the cornerstone of the Treehouse.  Every day for over ten years we begin our daily prayers with our fallen national heroes in mind.   Through the years we have also lost veteran members who are part of the Treehouse family.  We have cried together, held time together and sometimes just quietly sat beside each-other to eliminate the loneliness…. No words needed.

However, we would also like the opportunity to share our appreciation this special weekend; and we want our veteran Treepers to know just how much they are valued and cherished.

Before we enter a day of solemn thoughtfulness and reflection, I would like to ask all military Treepers to stand and be recognized so that we may say “Thank You” this Memorial Day.  If you, or a member of your family past or present, is a member of the veteran community, or if you have lost someone close who was a veteran, please share a brief hello.

To the extent you are comfortable, please stand and be recognized in the comments section so that we may honor you and your family.

God Bless.

We love you…

DeSantis VS Lockdowns

Over the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdowns that followed have ravaged much of what Americans hold dear. And virtually every aspect of life has been at the mercy of our government leaders, as they navigated uncharted territory.

A governor’s single decision could mean the death of a loved one, the decimation of your life’s work, or being deprived of a final goodbye. The cost of a poor policy decision has never been more devastating.

In the face of all this, one governor has stood out.

Representative Elise Stefanik Elected by House GOP Conference 134-46 to Replace Liz Cheney as Conference Chairwoman

There are some voices who are concerned about Elise Stefanik taking over as House GOP Conference Chairwoman.  Perhaps those concerns are founded, and each person obviously has a right to their opinion based on their perspective.  That said, perhaps the best course of action is to both enthusiastically support and simultaneously hold accountable; then watch to see if she holds true to the MAGA agenda.

President Trump had previously endorsed Elise Stefanik for the position and with that endorsement Mrs. Stefanik now carries the responsibility to advance and support the ‘America First’ agenda.   Today in her first remarks since being elected by a conference vote of 134-46 Representative Stefanik talked to the media.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Holds a Townhall Event at the Villages

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on May 13, 2021 | Sundance | 27 Comments

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is a rising star in the republican party mostly for his MAGA alignment and steadfast approach toward common sense governance. DeSantis has been a great leader for the state of Florida and has nationwide recognition for his leadership style and fearless approach toward confronting the bias in media.

At 42-years-old with three kids DeSantis really does work tirelessly on behalf of his state. He is well known for traveling almost every day to meet people in every area of the state while conducting official state business. Grounded in pragmatic conservative principles the Florida governor has a firm commitment to individual reliance, freedom and liberty; this outlook has been clear in his approach toward the COVID crisis.

Yesterday Governor DeSantis held a townhall event at The Villages, and went into more details about both his personal perspectives and his outlook on current political issues that concern the voting electorate. The townhall event hosted by Newsmax is a great opportunity to get to know DeSantis.

President Trump Congratulates Windham, New Hampshire, For Their Fortitude in Organizing 2020 Ballot Audit

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on May 6, 2021 | Sundance | 48 Comments

A long way from Maricopa Arizona, a similar ballot recount battle has been underway.  In the latest local developments the election board was taken to task by a committed group of residents in Windham, New Hampshire.   The citizens fought hard for an audit team they could trust.  The result was a third auditor with strong credentials has been successfully appointed by the previously reluctant board.

President Trump congratulates the commitment of the citizens of Windham for demanding an audit after sketchy ballot returns -reported by electronic counters- just did not add up to what the election night vote showed:

PRESIDENT TRUMP – “Congratulations to the great Patriots of Windham, New Hampshire for their incredible fight to seek out the truth on the massive Election Fraud which took place in New Hampshire and the 2020 Presidential Election. The spirit for transparency and justice is being displayed all over the Country by media outlets which do not represent Fake News.

People are watching in droves as these Patriots work tirelessly to reveal the real facts of the most tainted and corrupt Election in American history. Congratulations Windham—look forward to seeing the results.”

Here’s the details:

NEW HAMPSHIRE – A statistics professor has been named as the third and final member of a panel facing a May 27 deadline to audit the November 2020 state representative election in Windham.

“We will do our work in such a way that nobody will have to trust any of us,” Philip Stark of the University of California, Berkeley, said Wednesday. “They can look at what was done, rather than who did it.”

A hand recount about three weeks after election night determined that the four Windham Republicans running for House seats each received about 300 more votes than were reported from automatic AccuVote counting machines. Gov. Chris Sununu last month signed the legislation that mandates the forensic audit.

[…] The audit team will work in the New Hampshire National Guard’s Edward Cross Training Center in Pembroke, the state’s attorney general and secretary of state announced Wednesday.

There will be limited space in the facility for observers and the media, but the proceedings will be livestreamed online at doj.nh.gov. (read more)
