CONCERNING: Ukraine (aka NATO) Hits Leningrad Region, KINEF Oil Refinery, in Russia with Drone Attack

Posted originally on CTH on March 8, 2025 | Sundance

Consider this an escalation once President Trump is briefed.  Overnight, someone, claimed by media to be Ukraine, launched a targeted series of drone attacks against the KINEF oil refinery in the Leningrad region of Russia.

The refinery is approximately 800 to 1,000 kilometers from where western intelligence operators are assembled to support Ukraine.  This distance means someone within NATO has violated President Trump’s order to withdraw ‘long-range’ targeting system operation, and/or someone within NATO has provided an alternative. [SEE MAP]

When President Trump stopped “intelligence sharing” with Ukraine, what he technically did was stop allowing Ukraine to use exclusive USA targeting systems controlled by U.S Intelligence, the CIA, the National Reconnaissance Office and the U.S. National Geospatial Intelligence Agency.

These terrain mapping systems, the missile and drone targeting systems, are what military forces inside Ukraine need to carry out offensive drone and missile attacks against Russian forces.  However, two drones were launched on the night of Saturday March 8th and were shot down as they approached the KINEF refinery, damaging one external oil tank.

Who launched them, and what targeting system was used?

RBC Ukraine – […] At night, unidentified drones attacked an oil refinery in the Leningrad region of Russia. It is claimed that air defense systems shot down two drones, according to the Telegram account of the region’s governor, Alexander Drozdenko.

On the night of March 8, the KINEF oil refinery in Kirishi, Leningrad region of Russia, was attacked by drones.

“The UAV attack on KINEF in the Kirishi district has been repelled. Air defense forces shot down one drone on approach, and the other was destroyed over the plant’s territory,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to the governor, the debris from the downed drone damaged the external structure of one of the tanks. There were no reported casualties.

It is worth noting that the Kinef oil refinery (Kirishinefteorgsintez) is one of the largest in Russia. (more)

VIA REUTERS – MOSCOW (Reuters) – A tank at Russia’s Kirishi refinery, one of the country’s largest, was damaged by falling debris during a Ukrainian drone attack, the governor of the northwestern Leningrad region said on Saturday.

Surgutneftegaz’s Kirishinefteorgsintez (KINEF) refinery is one of the top two refineries in Russia. It refines about 17.7 million tons per year (355,000 barrels per day) of Russian crude, or 6.4% of the total, according to industry sources.

[…] The refinery produces about 2.3 million tons of gasoline – 5.3% of Russia’s total – 7.6% of its diesel fuel, 16.3% of its fuel oil and 3.4% of the country’s aviation fuel, according to industry sources. (more)

The drones were launched from Ukraine?

The KINEF refinery is quite a long distance from the Western Ukraine region under the control of Zelenskyy and NATO allies.  Beyond the issue of who controlled the drones, how was the drone targeting system used and who provided it?

Previously, CTH shared the following:

♦ WATCH FOR THIS – The U.S. is still sharing the targeting information with the U.K and NATO allies. However, if the NATO/EU/UK/CIA use the targeting system it will be very obvious; attacks against ‘Russian territory’ be visible. That’s all the proof needed.

If any long-range missile/drone operations continue, then someone is violating the Trump order. There is no other way to look at it.

At that point, something rather radical is likely to be announced by President Trump that shreds every facet of the U.S. relationship with NATO, the UK and even the Five-Eyes consortium.

Geopolitically, every player mentioned is well aware of this dynamic. Hence, the apoplexy we are witnessing.

It looks like it’s time to increase the Big Ugly impact hammer!

The EU needs to understand what FAFO means in Trump term-2.

These schemes and trouble-stirring operations by the EU will likely continue as the U.S delegation meets with the Ukrainian delegation in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia next week.

DHS Administering Lie Detector Tests as Two Operational Leakers are Identified for Prosecution

Publishing a short video to her X account, Dept of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem shared that two of the DHS leakers who were giving operational information in advance of immigration enforcement actions have been identified.

Secretary Noem notes the inside threats have been identified and will be prosecuted for putting ICE and Customs and Border officers at risk.

VIA CBS – The Department of Homeland Security is administering polygraph tests to its personnel to determine who may be leaking information to the media about its ongoing immigration raids, an agency spokesperson confirmed to CBS News Saturday.

On Feb. 18, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said DHS would start polygraphing employees in order to crack down on these leaks.

In a video posted to social media Friday, Noem wrote that the department had “identified two leakers of information here at the Department of Homeland Security who have been telling individuals about our operations and putting law enforcement lives in jeopardy. We plan to prosecute these two individuals and hold them accountable for what they’ve done.”

The polygraph tests have been taking place for about three weeks, the DHS spokesperson told CBS News. It’s unclear how many employees have undergone them.

Since January, the White House has been aggressive in its efforts to fulfill President Trump’s campaign vow of cracking down on illegal immigration and enacting mass deportations of undocumented immigrants. (more)

Sketchy Sourcing: Trump considering pulling 35,000 US troops out of Germany as President becoming ‘increasingly frustrated’ with Europe

Posted originally on CTH on March 8, 2025 | Sundance

As much as we may want this to actually happen, the sourcing for the original claim is rather dubious. “A source close to the White House told The Telegraph: “Trump is angry that they [Europe] appear to be pushing for war.””

Obviously, President Trump is not happy with the EU or with Germany specifically.  Additionally, in President Trump’s first term, then U.S. Ambassador to Germany, Ric Grenell, delivered the message to Angela Merkel that President Trump was willing to move troops out of Germany.  However, there’s no direct sourcing that President Trump is reinitiating that approach.

When we think about the arrows in the quiver of Trump to bring the EU to the peace negotiation table, the movement of U.S. troops stationed in the EU is one of those very targeted arrows.  But the sourcing on the claim that it’s a current discussion point is not very affirming. So, proceed with caution.

GB News – US President Donald Trump is deliberating pulling troops out of Germany and relocating them to eastern Europe in another potential snag to Washington’s relationship with Europe.

The speculation comes after the President said that he was finding it more difficult to deal with Ukraine and that it may be easier to deal with Russia as his administration seeks to reach a peace agreement.

Approximately 160,000 active-duty personnel are stationed outside of the United States, a large amount are in Germany.

A source close to the White House told The Telegraph: “Trump is angry that they [Europe] appear to be pushing for war.”

It comes after Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán vetoed a commitment to bolster support for Ukraine which was signed by all other member states. Orbán has maintained a relatively closer relationship with Russia, often opposing EU sanctions on Moscow.

Meanwhile, Trump has also paused military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine to pressure Kyiv to accept a ceasefire deal after an explosive Oval Office meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky a week ago. (read more)

President Trump has to put pressure on the EU to create the space for peace talks because it is the EU now supporting Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his effort to keep the war going.

DHS Cancels TSA Collective Bargaining Agreement

Posted originally on CTH on March 8, 2025 | Sundance

The Dept of Homeland Security, led by Secretary Kristi Noem, has ended the collective bargaining agreement with the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA).

The TSA has approximately 47,000 employees represented by the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE).  The Dept of Homeland Security is ending the union bargaining agreement, paving the way to streamline the TSA and eventually privatize airport screening.

Transportation Safety Officers (TSOs) are not happy with the decision by DHS and leftist politicians are obviously aligning themselves with the union representation.  Anyone who has recently experienced TSA conduct in airports will likely attest to the need for accountability which is severely lacking due to union representation.

MSM – The Department of Homeland Security said Friday it is ending the collective bargaining agreement with the union representing thousands of frontline workers with the Transportation Security Administration, a decision the TSA union called an “unprovoked attack.”

In announcing the decision, DHS criticized the union — which represents worker responsible for screening airline passengers — claiming TSA employs more people working full-time on union issues than those “performing screening functions at 86% of our airports.”

[…] “This action will ensure Americans will have more effective and modernized workforces across the nation’s transportation networks,” Homeland Security said in a statement. “TSA is renewing its commitment to providing a quick and secure travel process for Americans.” (read more)

Hopefully this is the beginning of the end for the lifecycle of the TSA.

While the TSA is forbidden from profiling any protected category of personage, yet a two-year-old requires a “pat down”…  Sorry, the TSA is totally lost, gone and they have fully embraced stupid.

President Trump Warns Russia to Negotiate Quickly or Face Tariffs and Sanctions

Using his Truth Social account, President Donald Trump said he is “strongly considering” issuing large-scale sanctions and tariffs on Russia to get a ceasefire and settlement deal on the table to end the war in Ukraine.

[SOURCE]

With Ukraine in a vulnerable position due to the USA ‘pause’ in Ukraine missiles and drones targeting systems, President Trump appears to be telling Vladimir Putin directly not to exploit the vulnerability or Russia will face enhanced economic pressure points.

President Trump is putting pressure on both sides to reach an interim ceasefire agreement.

President Trump is also well aware that there are no banking, tariff or sanction pressure points that could materially hurt Russia or will impact the decision making of President Putin.   Accept the public messaging for what it is.

Zelenskyy Calls for an Air and Sea Truce as Interim Proposal for Ceasefire Ahead of Talks With U.S Team in Saudi Arabia

Posted originally on CTH on March 7, 2025 | Sundance

Knowing that President Trump has essentially stopped the Ukraine/NATO/IC/EU offensive combat operations for Ukraine that use western supplied drones/missiles with complete reliance on U.S/NATO targeting, it does not come as a surprise to see Ukraine President Zelenskyy call for a “sky and sea truce.”

Zelenskyy’s proposal for Russia to stop the air and sea combat operations, while simultaneously supporting frontline combat operations, is essentially an EU effort to maintain the fight by counteracting the Trump pressure point.

EU spokesperson Volodymyr Zelenskyy doesn’t factually want a ceasefire; they want a situation that retains the status quo and neuters Russia’s strategic advantage.

EU News – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for an air and sea truce on Friday after Russia bombarded Ukraine’s energy infrastructure overnight.

Writing on Telegram, he reiterated that there must be “silence” in the seas and skies over Ukraine. The “first steps toward real peace must include forcing the sole source of this war, Russia, to stop such attacks against life,” the Ukrainian leader said.

Russia targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure overnight in a large-scale missile and drone attack, Ukrainian officials said Friday.

[…] The attack came hours after Zelenskyy announced that talks with the US on ending the three-year war would take place in Saudi Arabia next week. (read more)

President Trump knows there is no external pressure that can weaken the strategic advantages of Russia.  The only substantive action that would impact Putin would be U.S. military to join even deeper with Ukraine, and that’s not about to happen.

The only option to bring both to the table with the same mindset is to force Zelenskyy (essentially the EU) to accept peace, establish the first framework for a ceasefire then proceed to negotiations for a lasting peace settlement.

Forcing Zelenskyy/EU to accept peace is a matter of stopping U.S. support for the EU/Ukraine war effort.  President Putin is already in a position to negotiate; it’s the intransigence of the EU/Zelenskyy tribe that is the current focus.

In addition to extreme economic outcomes as a result of potential tariffs on the EU, the complete withdrawal from NATO is an arrow in the strategic quiver of Trump.

The game of pretending, albeit weakened, is continued by the EU.  Meanwhile, we keep watching.

Happy warrior and National Economic Council Chairman, Kevin Hassett, outlines the preliminary economic indicators during a press availability session with President Trump in the oval office.

Hassett notes the prior administration grew government jobs; the Trump administration is growing private sector jobs.  Within that private sector growth, American workers are gaining position against the background of over a trillion dollars committed so far in domestic manufacturing investment.

MAGAnomics, the wealth of America, is the core binding principle that weaves through all of President Trump’s policies, both foreign and domestic.  President Trump also answers questions from media. The media questions begin at 14:26 of the video below.  WATCH:

President Trump Removes Perkins Coie Security Clearance and FBI Workstations from Within Law Firm

Posted originally on CTH on March 6, 2025 | Sundance

The original information from an FBI whistleblower first surfaced in 2022. Essentially the information was that the DNC contracted law firm of Perkins Coie had an FBI workstation in their DC office since 2012.

The Perkins Coie workstation (collocated by the FBI) has access to the NSA database on all Americans, including political figures.  The Democrats contracted with Perkins Coie for “political research.”

It doesn’t take a lot of thinking to realize what this set up was all about; Perkins Coie could do opposition research on any candidate and feed that information to the DNC for use in their campaigning.

This means both Marc Elias (DNC lawyer) and Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann could exploit the NSA database to conduct searches of all cell phone, computer, email, text message, social media, electronic communication and all private data/communication belonging to Americans; this would include geolocation.

The arrangement was in place since 2012.  Democrats have held access to fully intrusive electronic surveillance of their political opposition, or anyone else – anywhere, for over a decade. The ramifications of this joint collaborative activity are vast.  President Trump just shut it down:

Pay attention to Section 2, paragraph b.

[…] Sec. 2. Security Clearance Review. (a) The Attorney General, the Director of National Intelligence, and all other relevant heads of executive departments and agencies (agencies) shall immediately take steps consistent with applicable law to suspend any active security clearances held by individuals at Perkins Coie, pending a review of whether such clearances are consistent with the national interest.

(b) The Office of Management and Budget shall identify all Government goods, property, material, and services, including Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities, provided for the benefit of Perkins Coie. The heads of all agencies providing such material or services shall, to the extent permitted by law, expeditiously cease such provision. (LINK)

There is a common misconception about why the FBI and intelligence apparatus began investigating the political campaign of Donald Trump.

In this refresher outline I hope to provide some deep source material that will provide context to the revelation of the FBI-Perkins Coie relationship against numerous historic reference points that reconcile with the revelation of their workstation access.

During the timeframe of December 2015 through April 2016 the NSA database was being exploited by contractors within the intelligence community, specifically within the FBI, doing unauthorized searches.

On March 9, 2016, oversight personnel doing a review of FBI system access were alerted to thousands of unauthorized FBI search queries of specific U.S. persons within the NSA database.

NSA Director Mike Rogers was made aware.

Subsequently NSA Director Rogers initiated a full compliance review of the system to identify who was doing the searches; & what searches were being conducted.

On April 18, 2016, following the preliminary audit results, Director Rogers shut down all FBI contractor access to the database after he learned FISA-702 “about”(17) and “to/from”(16) search queries were being done without authorization.

Thus begins the first discovery of a much bigger background story.

When you compile the timeline with the people involved; and the specific wording of the resulting review, which was then delivered to the FISA court; and overlay the activity that was taking place in the 2016 political primary; what we discover is a process where the metadata collected by the NSA was being searched for political opposition research and surveillance.

Tens-of-thousands of unauthorized and unlawful searches were identified by the FISA court as likely extending much further than the compliance review period: “while the government reports it is unable to provide a reliable estimate of the non compliant queries since 2012, there is no apparent reason to believe the November 2015 [to] April 2016 period coincided with an unusually high error rate”.

In short, during the Obama administration access to the NSA database was continually used to conduct surveillance.  This is the critical point that leads to understanding the origin of “Spygate”, as it unfolded in the Spring and Summer of 2016.

It was the discovery of the database exploitation and the removal of access as a surveillance tool that seemed to create the initial problem for the FBI political unit in Washington, DC.  Here’s how we can tell.

In December 2015 there were 17 GOP candidates, all needing opposition research.

However, when Donald Trump won New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina the field was significantly whittled. Trump, Cruz, Rubio, Kasich and Carson remained.

On Super Tuesday, March 2, 2016, Donald Trump won seven states (VT, AR, VA, GA, AL, TN, MA) it was then clear that Trump was the GOP frontrunner with momentum to become the presumptive nominee.

On March 5th, 2016, DonaldTrump won Kentucky and Louisiana; and on March 8th Trump won Michigan, Mississippi and Hawaii.

The next day, March 9, 2016, is when NSA security alerts warned internal oversight personnel that something sketchy was going on.  This timing is not coincidental.

As FISA Judge Rosemary Collyer later wrote in her report, “many of these non-compliant queries involved the use of the same identifiers over different date ranges.”  Put another way: attributes belonging to a specific individual(s) were being targeted and queried, unlawfully.  Given what was later discovered, it seems obvious the primary search targets, over multiple date ranges, were political candidates, specifically Donald Trump.

There were tens-of-thousands of unauthorized search queries; and as Judge Collyer stated in her report, there is no reason to believe the 85% non compliant rate was any different from the abuse of the NSA database going back to 2012, the same year the FBI collocated a workspace within Perkins Coie.

As you will see below the NSA database was how political surveillance was being conducted during Obama’s second term in office.  However, when the system was flagged, and when NSA Director Mike Rogers shut down “FBI contractor” access to the system, the system users needed to develop another way to get access.

Mike Rogers shuts down access on April 18, 2016.  On April 19, 2016, Fusion-GPS founder Glenn Simpson’s wife, Mary Jacoby visits the White House.  Immediately thereafter, the DNC and Clinton campaign contract Fusion GPS… who then hire Christopher Steele.

Knowing it was federal “contractors”, outside government with FBI access to the system doing the unauthorized searches, the question becomes: who were the contractors?

The possibilities are quite vast. Essentially anyone the FBI or intelligence apparatus was using could have participated.  Crowdstrike was a known FBI contractor; they were also contracted by the DNC.  Shawn Henry was the former head of the FBI office in DC and later become part of Crowdstrike’s leadership team, a rather dubious contractor for the government and a politically connected data security and forensic company.

FBI Director James Comey’s special friend Daniel Richman was an unpaid FBI “special employee” with security access to the database.  Nellie Ohr began working for Fusion-GPS on the Trump project in November 2015 and she was a previous open-source CIA contractor; and now that we know the FBI and Perkins Coie were in a collaborative relationship, we can also presume they were FBI contractors with similar clearances and access.

Remember the Sharyl Attkisson computer intrusions?  It’s all part of this same network; Attkisson even named former FBI Supervisory Special Agent Shawn Henry as a defendant in her ongoing lawsuit.

All of the aforementioned names, and so many more, held a political agenda in 2016.

It seems likely if the NSA flags were never triggered then the contracted FBI system users would have continued exploiting the NSA database for political opposition research; which would then be funneled to the Clinton team.  However, once the unauthorized flags were triggered, the system users (including those inside the FBI and sister agency the CIA) would need to find another back-door to continue… Again, the timing becomes transparent.

Immediately after NSA flags were raised March 9, 2016, the same FBI and CIA intelligence agencies began using confidential human sources (CHS’s) to run into the Trump campaign.  By activating intelligence assets like Joseph Mifsud and Stefan Halper the IC (CIA, FBI) and system users had now created an authorized way to continue the same political surveillance operations.

When Donald Trump hired Paul Manafort on March 28, 2016, it was a perfect scenario for those doing the surveillance.   Manafort was a known entity to the FBI and was previously under investigation.  Paul Manafort’s entry into the Trump orbit was perfect for Glenn Simpson to sell his prior research on Manafort as a Trump-Russia collusion script two weeks later.

The shift from “unauthorized exploitation of the NSA database” to legally authorized exploitation of the NSA database was now in place. This was how they continued the political surveillance. This is the confluence of events that originated “spygate”, or what officially blossomed into the FBI investigation known as “Crossfire Hurricane” on July 31.

If the NSA flags were never raised; and if Director Rogers had never initiated the compliance audit; and if the FBI political contractors were never blocked from access to the database; they would never have needed to create a legal back-door, a justification to retain the surveillance.  The political operatives/contractors would have just continued the targeted metadata exploitation.

Once they created the FBI surveillance door, Fusion-GPS was then needed to get the FBI known commodity of Chris Steele activated as a pipeline. Into that pipeline all system users pushed opposition research.  However, one mistake from the database extraction, likely during an “about” query, shows up as a New Yorker named Michael Cohen in Prague.

That misinterpreted data from a FISA-702 “about query” is then piped to Steele and turns up inside the dossier; it was the wrong Michael Cohen. It wasn’t Trump’s lawyer; it was an art dealer from New York City with the same name; the same “identifier”.

Unfortunately, the FBI cannot be reformed.

The FBI needs to be closed, disassembled and a new smaller federal investigative agency opened in its place.

Special Envoy Steve Witkoff Holds a Press Conference Discussing Hamas Hostages and Upcoming Meeting with Ukrainian Officials

Posted originally on CTH on March 6, 2025 | Sundance

President Trump’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff holds a very interesting press availability outside the White House.

The primary topic was the Trump administration position on the release of hostages from Hamas.  However, Mr Witkoff confirms the USA delegation will be traveling to Riyad, Saudi Arabia, for a meeting with Ukraine officials.

Regarding the Russia-Ukraine war – Special envoy Steve Witkoff confirms that planning is underway for a meeting with President Zelenskyy’s team.  Witkoff, will be part of the U.S. delegation alongside Secretary of State Marco Rubio and national security adviser Mike Waltz.

Witkoff also said another visit by Zelenskyy to Washington could still come. “There is a path back, and President Zelenskyy has demonstrated that he is intent on that good faith path back,” he said.
