There is Still Hope Resistance is NOT Futile!

Stamer Reelection

With US and UK missiles now being used against targets in Russia and Russia sending ICBMs against Ukraine, we are teetering on WW3. It is the closest we have been since the 1962 and 1973 crises. I seriously question whi sanctioned these missiles since Biden did not publicly come out and make the announcement for something this major. Teddy Altas famously says that “what someone does at the end is what they planned to do all along.”

Biden in Military Helmet

What I would add to that is that you will always be remembered for your last deed—not your first. Biden’s entire life will be remembered for this single decision, just as George Bush Jr. will be remembered for Iraq.

The good news is that the British Parliament is at least going to debate calling for an election. Russia just flew drones over their three nuclear facilities, and they had no idea they were coming. This has been set in motion by Starmer’s support for a lame-duck president’s efforts to start World War III or at least by the NEOCONs in his name.

The Drone Wars

WAR DRONE

QUESTION: Mr. Armstrong, you previously said the US would find it difficult to actually defend Taiwan. I would greatly appreciate if you could elaborate on that scenario.
HJ

ANSWER: If you look at all of the fighter jets that the US could deploy from the F15, F16, F22, and F35s, they have a serious drawback when we look at Taiwan. They generally have a range of 500 to 600 miles with a meaningful payload of weapons. The ONLY US air base that could be used to defend Taiwan is Kadena in Japan’s Okinawa prefecture. That is 450 miles from Taiwan. If China were to invade, an all out war one would expect that the Chinese would rain down missiles on Kadena most likely rendering that base in operable. If the fighters took off, they may not have a base to return to in a serious confrontation.

Yes, the USAF could deploy aerial tankers to extend a fighter’s range by hundreds of miles. However, such tankers are slow and very vulnerable under such conditions. This is why the requirements for the Next Generation stealth fighter has been to extend its range. The USAF at least temporarily paused the this project raising questions about the ability to defend Taiwan. They claimed it was the cost was too high. The Ukraine War has highlighted the rising importance of using unmanned drones perhaps using AI-assisted rather than fighter jets.

The traditional tactics from WWII and the Korean War are giving way to drone technology. These drones could extend the flight path to even 900 miles. Instead of billions of dollars for jets, they can use drones costing tens of millions, still way over prices to keep the Military Industrial Complex from going on welfare. Drones could then operate from small island airstrips in The Philippines. Now you see why the Philippines has been a concern for China.

What you are more likely to see is the new stealth generation fighters may be support craft for the drones as the support ships for aircraft carriers. They could in theory control the drones as sort of a mother-ship. All of this is being driven by the expectation that war is coming with China.

A Rebel with a Cause – Matt Gaetz Delivers Righteous Remarks to Florida GOP Assembly, Things are Getting “A Little Grizzly”…

This is, well, too full of smiles to adequately describe.   Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz delivered a resoundingly honest speech to the Republican attendees at the Florida Freedom Summit on Saturday.   It is well worth the time to watch, as prompted.

Look, I’m still on the fence with this guy, but his brutal confrontation of the GOPe is some of the funniest and best components of the BIG UGLY so far.   The guy has been put through the wringer, hit from every angle, ridiculed by both the left and right, and yet he’s standing there snarking brutal one-liners in their faces while sipping their tears.

It’s so much fun to watch him go full wolverine, and yet so brutal in its abject honesty; quite frankly, it makes him very easy to like. WATCH:

I mean, seriously.  Think about it.  He took down the Speaker of the House….

He’s a rebel with a cause. Give em’ hell kid!

Louisiana Republican Jeff Landry Wins Governor Race, Returns State to Republican Control

Posted originally on the CTH on October 15, 2023 | Sundance

Interestingly, and perhaps likely because of President Trump’s endorsement of Jeff Landry, the Republican Governor’s Association (RGA) did not support Landry in the Louisiana governor’s race.  Just another small but interesting datapoint that will be missed in this story.

As we have previously mentioned, the RGA, just like the RNC, is a captured institution now under the full control of the multinational donors.

Despite the lack of RGA support, Louisiana Republican Jeff Landry has won the governor’s race with more than 50% of the vote and will become the next governor.

(Politico) – […] Landry, the state attorney general, emerged from a crowded, all-party field to win the seat with 52 percent of the vote when The Associated Press called the race with 95 of the estimated vote counted. He will succeed term-limited Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards.

Landry emerged from a field that included a number of notable Republicans, including state Treasurer John Schroder and Stephen Waguespack, a former executive at the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry and one-time aide to former GOP Gov. Bobby Jindal. There was one big-name Democrat in the race: Shawn Wilson, who previously served in Edwards’ administration as transportation secretary and had 25 percent of the vote when the AP called the race.

Landry was able to quickly coalesce GOP support in the race. He was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, the state Republican Party and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, among others.

By receiving more than 50 percent of the vote, Landry, who is also a former member of Congress, avoids a November runoff. Most expected Landry and Wilson to advance to that contest, making Landry’s outright win on Saturday an even bigger surprise — and potentially an early marker of Republican voters’ enthusiasm heading into 2024.

The state is red — Trump carried it by almost 19 points in 2020 — but Landry will become only the 4th Republican governor since the end of Reconstruction. Edwards, the outgoing Democratic governor, is one of the last of a dying breed of Southern Democrats. He is a rare anti-abortion Democrat still in a prominent elected office. (more)
