BRENT HAMACHEK – […] For those of us who still believe in and embrace the ideas of our founding, for those who believe that the individual and their liberty are of paramount importance and prime value, for those of us who believe that free market capitalism is the most moral and just system for organizing economic activity, we need to have an epiphany. We need to awaken to the reality that we are not a majority. We are not a vocal minority with the same rights as the majority. We are now dissidents. For those who might argue that there more of us, or at least as many of us, who believe in individual liberty and free market capitalism than there are opponents to same, I would suggest that you should not confuse a simple head count with total political atomic mass. The positions within society that our opponents hold and the institutions and machinery they control gives them leverage beyond simple membership numbers.
As to our being cast in the role of dissidents, we have no choice. How we conduct ourselves in that role will be the difference between having a chance over the long term to ultimately prevail or having to spend a century or more under the totalitarian’s thumb. We need to understand the role we are in, the most effective course of action we can take, and above all, we must understand and accept our limitations. Strategically, I hope President Trump does run again – even if he doesn’t want to – for two reasons: (1) Because President Trump will plow the field and destroy the GOPe nominee, likely Nikki Haley; and (2) because even if 45 does not really want the nomination, his participation, and subsequent endorsement, will determine the winner.
That approach would essentially be President Trump running again just to crush the beltway and then select the nominee within the field that will be the future of MAGA.

ANSWER: They have attacked Trump from every possible angle. They have gone after his tax returns. If someone commits murder, do you treat the lawyer as a murderer? In politics, they attack Trump, the messenger, and never address the anti-establishment movement nor the swamp. They are trying to stop the trial for murder by attacking the lawyer.
Unfortunately, this is how politics works. They could care less about the people who voted for Trump or why. They just need to take Trump down and from their perspective, they have silenced the movement. That is precisely anti-democracy – kill the messenger and avoid the message.
If we have someone else to stand up they would have to then attack them personally. People have often asked why I declined to take the Chief Economic Adviser position in the White House. They would have torn my background apart and asked how could I advise foreign automakers against America turning that into some treasonous activity. They will always attack the person, not the qualifications or the issue at hand. Just look at the last Supreme Court nomination. You had Diane Feinstein rejecting her because she was Catholic and assumed she would vote against abortion.
Washington is always about to kill the messenger. I have no hope in politics as it has become just so dishonest. Unfortunately, like the Roman Republic, the corruption is just so pervasive, there is no saving it.
That was Gauis Julius Caesar’s mistake. He granted clemency to his opponents trying to rebuild the Republic but they assassinated him the first chance they got. We are at the same point. Trump crossed the Rubicon. This is his political assassination. That leaves someone else to rally the troops.
