As an inventor I dream up things, literally at night or even when I’m sleeping. The COVID-19 panic that is rampaging across the world today is on everyone mind and there is talk that there are fewer virus outbreaks in the summer. Therefore, warm weather kills the virus. So what popped into my mind last night was that there is something else going on in the summer that a lot of people take advantage of and that is sunlight. Sunlight also has ultra-violet light, UV, in it some of which gives us a suntan.

There are three types of UV — UV-A, UV-B and UV-C of the three UV-C does kill bacterial and viruses. I think it is the UV-C that helps cuts down on viruses like the flue in the summer not the warm air. What summer warmth does is bring people outside more than in the winter. If true and it likely is, we need to get the people outside in the sun not locked up.

We need to get this to Trump so we can get the people out of their homes and out and about — summer is coming.

Now this is easily tested in a lab and if I had a lab I could to it in a weekend. I could also patent two devices but that would take time and it is more important to save lives!

One, a treatment using this principle — as with a thin fiber optic cable we could use to pump UV-C directly into the lungs of serious COVIS-19 victims and kill the virus in Situ. 

Two, we could also easily make a portable system like a mask the hospital workers could wear. A simple power tool battery a small dc fan a UV-C lamp and a face mask connected to the device via a small hose. There are industrial masks available for this kind of use — only for breathing air that are easily converted.

Also there are high end air filter systems combining HEPA and UV-C out there and maybe they should be purchased for hospital use.
