Rejected Ron DeSantis Positions His Voice Following Trump Conviction

Most Republican voters are not familiar with the Machiavellian ways of the multinational corporations who control most of the professionally Republican politicians as puppets.  A large percentage of political observers think the “corporate Republican” meme is overused, in part because they need to retain their own sense of stability.

The illusion of the two-party system is comfortable to the psyche, and the beneficiaries of the cognitive dissonance work earnestly to keep up pretenses.  However, there is a great awakening happening as people realize the UniParty is very real.

Democrats want power, Republicans want money.  Democrats use money to get power, Republicans use power to get money.  The ideology of the Democrats drives their donor activity, while the donor activity of the Republicans drives their ideology.  This is the structural difference between both wings of the UniParty apparatus.

In the aftermath of the Trump verdict, the corporations who control the professionally Republican approach have two vested candidates they would position as beneficiaries – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.

You might remember that during the initial shock of the Mar-a-Lago FBI raid, Ron DeSantis sent one tweet from his personal account and then went silent for 5 days, hiding from all media.  At the conclusion of the 5-days, DeSantis emerged and began his August national branding tour, which then morphed into his 2022 “book tour.”  Everything was carefully scripted, planned, scheduled and controlled.

The professionally Republican groups that support Ron DeSantis, in addition to his online influencer group (formerly Ted Cruz Crew), do not like it when you point out the visible fingerprints of the Sea Island strategists around DeSantis; but I don’t care.  CTH points out their activity specifically because it is very predictable and part of the long history inside the modern Republican Party.

Following the Trump verdict in New York, team DeSantis position their narrative; only this time, they use the official account of the Florida governor, because he suspended his 2024 campaign for the Republican presidential nomination. [The control group have him in waiting mode.]

There is a tribe of rabid professional Republicans – generally online influencers who receive pay, benefits and indulgences from the multinationals and billionaire class – who absolutely hate it when you point out the corporate agenda behind the DeSantis operation.  These are the same people, groups and organizations, who attacked us two years ago for pointing out the DeSantis plan for ’24.

The argument is akin to saying that anyone who supports Trump now should be excused for all their previous Machiavellian moves, hate-filled opposition and duplicity.  These are skillful professional GOPe abusers who make the same passive aggressive arguments as toxic leftists.  They swarm those who put sunlight on the Republican schemes and call us names for informing people about their Trojan Horse deceptions.

This highly structured commentary from Ron DeSantis (now using his FL.gov Twitter account) is part of their professional political manipulation. These are the same GOPe entities who will be willfully blind to rules and regulations that ban “convicted felons” from federal (or Republican) campaigns.  See them for who they are and notice the positioning of Ron and Nikki in advance of the RNC convention.

In the past several decades, the motive of a Republican or Democrat politician, advancing their influence by running for political office, has absolutely nothing to do with representing the interests of the American people.  Nothing.  Their interests are to engage within the business of politics, while presenting themselves as qualified actors to retain the premise of political service.  This is why they will spend $10 million to win an office that only pays $400k/yr.

The business of buying, selling and controlling policy, is the core operation of people within the US political system.  As an outcome, the business has two wings – the RNC and the DNC.  Two private corporations inside the political industry who are in place to retain the overall business model.  The RNC and DNC are both funded by the same interests, banks, corporations, Wall St interests, and even foreign interests who purchase outcomes.

The RNC and DNC are two operational wings inside the industry of politics.  The are in the same business, but they have slightly different business models.

The Republicans (RNC) want money, the Democrats (DNC) want power.  The Republicans use power to get money, the Democrats use money to get power.  The donor activity of the Republicans drives their agenda.  The agenda of the Democrats drives their donor activity.  It is a subtle nuance, but once you really understand it, everything falls into place.

The Republican politicians are ambivalent to the outcomes of the Democrats.  The Republican group only cares about the money.  Threaten the power of the Democrats, and you get a toxic and violent response.  Threaten the money of the Republicans, and you get exactly the same level of response.  It is critical to understand that both the DNC and RNC are private corporations with no affiliation to government.

The MAGA base of support cannot trust this Republican corporate group and we must not be blind or unguarded about the Machiavellian schemes they construct.  Donald Trump is not a problem for the Republican Party; Donald Trump is our response to the problem within the Republican Party.

Making America Great Again is an outcome of national economic policy.  At its core, MAGA is a national economic dynamic within a political movement that is represented by President Donald J. Trump.

It is critical to understand, the MAGA economic policy is essentially a national policy completely, and uniquely, under the control of the office of the President.  The impact to the lives of Americans is a direct outcome from national economic policy.  If a president wants to lead an independently wealthy country, he/she applies a very specific economic outlook to all other policy areas including energy, regulation and foreign policy.

It is also true that opposition to President Donald Trump is uniquely connected to the America First economic agenda.

Multimillion-dollar lobbyist firms like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Business Roundtable, along with dozens of economically established SuperPAC’s funded by Wall Street and multinational corporations, are vehemently opposed to the America First economic agenda.

All of the national politicians and political candidates taking money from these aforementioned groups necessarily bind themselves to a position that stands against the America First economic agenda.

In essence, if you take money from the multinationals, you cannot deliver on MAGA economic outcomes for banking, trade, finance etc.  And that’s exactly where we run into the problem.

Because MAGA national economic priorities conflict with the multinational corporations, hedge funds and the Wall Street donor class, all of the politicians who accept the influence checks from these self-interested groups cannot run on, or deliver, a MAGA national economic agenda.

At a local, county and state level, you have direct impact on the political policy agenda in your community.  Who you elect to the city council, school board, state house and Senate, as well as governor’s office, has an impact on those local and state priorities.  However, national economic policy, national energy and trade policy, and national foreign policy are not under your control.

As a result, the same skillset, or policy outlook, that makes a governor a successful state politician doesn’t carry into a federal office, [see the example of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker].  Yes, there are some executive and administration skills that carry over; however, on the bigger issue of steering the national policy agenda, almost every candidate for office comes with the baggage of having accepted donor contributions from a class of people who are paying for economic policy influence.

MAGA cannot be purchased.  It is a political outlook that seeks only to enhance the best interests of the American people, regardless of consequence for the multinationals or foreign beneficiaries of globalist U.S. economic policy.  Unfortunately, as a result, all of the beneficiaries are aligned to make sure the MAGA economic policy outlook is extinguished.  There are literally trillions at stake.  This reality underpins the opposition to Donald Trump.

When you understand why the national economic outlook of the President is so important, you can also understand why every political candidate is told not to discuss it by the handlers and campaign managers who are essentially selling their candidate to a millionaire and billionaire donor class who do not want an America First economic policy agenda.

There is no easy solution for this problem, and ironically this core economic issue is where you find supporters of both Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump in alignment.

Where the Sanders and Trump camps split is on the solution.  Team Sanders wants the government to play the role of economic referee (regulation), while Team Trump wants the government to change the rules of the economic game (countervailing duties, tariffs etc).

Before Donald Trump entered politics, there was no home for people voting on the issue of a national economic agenda.

Both Democrat and Republican candidates had essentially the same worldview on national economic policy because they are all getting money from the same multinational corporate trough.  However, President Trump changed that dynamic by presenting an alternative national economic policy called America First.

For decades, Middle America was begging the McConnells, Ryans, Boehners, Romneys, McCains, Bushes, et al, to make America First economic policies their priority.  All of our shouts for help fell upon deaf political ears plugged by corporate donations and influence.  Our communities were literally collapsing around us (see rust belt), and yet no national politician would do anything of consequence.

By the time Donald Trump arrived, decades of frustration exploded in an eruption of massive applause, because he was articulating the central economic issue that was being ignored by the professional political class.  The America First agenda is the restoration agenda.  From Trump’s national economic policy, the middle class erosion stopped. Economic security, specifically U.S. employment stability and wage rates, goes hand in glove with border security and immigration controls.

MAGAnomics is the core of the great MAGA Republican coalition, a working class coalition that cuts through all other distinctions and divisions.  It is not Republican because of political affiliation; it is “MAGA Republican” only because the Republican Party was the political vehicle selected by Donald Trump to install the policy.

This reality creates a problem for the DC professional political class and the corporate media. Because MAGAnomics is the fundamentally binding principle, there is no way to fracture the Trump supporter coalition.

I am a “MAGA Republican” by default of my wanting a national economic agenda that looks out for the economic interests of Americans first.

Donald Trump is the irreplaceable Great MAGA King, because Donald Trump is the only one who holds that same outlook.  Unfortunately, the Republican corporation does not carry that priority. Thus, the Big Ugly battle for control of the Republican Party remains in place and we must be very guarded about those who present themselves with MAGA masks.

President Trump and Ron DeSantis Met for Several Hours Sunday Morning in Florida

Many Ted Cruz Ron DeSantis supporters for 2024 will climb their high horses and pontificate about how magnanimous it is for both President Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to put away the swords and be political allies again.  NOT ME!

I’m sick and tired of these backstabbing Decepticons and the insufferable idiots who don’t see through their moves and motives.  The same insufferable Never Trump Cruz Crew from 2016 was behind the insufferable Never Trump DeSantis operation for 2024; only this time, to make matters exponentially worse, they merged the DeSantis team with the insufferable Bush supporters.

No, nothing -not a scintilla of a thing- about this scheming conniving brand of “republicanism” that stand beside the fraud known as Ron DeSantis is worth aligning with.  There are two types of Ron DeSantis supporters, (1) the people who are lying, conniving closet leftists operating under the uniparty guise; and (2) those who are too stupid to know about it.  I want nothing to do with either entity, and the MAGA coalition gains nothing from their association.

Apparently, Ron DeSantis and President Trump met together in Florida for “several hours” Sunday morning at the request of Ron DeSantis.  Gee, this is a big surprise (/sarc).   [Washington Post Article – Politico Article]

The one constant chapter in the DeceptiCon playbook consists of the pages that follow “if you lose.”  That chapter, written by Lee Atwater, comes immediately after the outline of the Alex Castellanos rule: snuggle up close and shiv him in the ribs.  In the margins of those pages you will find my notes, “never, ever trust a never Trumper”…

DeSantis brings nothing to the MAGA table and positioning himself for 2028 only makes his snake underbelly show even more right now.  Sure, Casey and Ron both realize the “Top Gov” did the big stupid, but one thing is certain to happen from me, I will never allow people to forget this vain effort at recovery.

DeSantis needs to disappear, and Trump needs to Make Shame Great Again.

VIA POLITICO – Gov. Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump seem ready to put their feud from the Republican presidential primary aside — for real this time.

The two Florida Republicans met in Miami Sunday morning to talk about how they could work together during the general election, according to half a dozen people familiar with the meeting who were granted anonymity to speak freely.

The meeting was first reported by the Washington Post.

The get-together was arranged by Florida real-estate broker Steve Witkoff, several people confirmed to POLITICO. A Trump campaign official said it was a “good meeting set at the request of Gov. DeSantis.”

Three DeSantis donors texted POLITICO to say that they thought the move for the two men to make peace was “smart.” (read more)

WASHINGTON POST – […] There is an incentive for DeSantis to form a closer relationship, as well. People close to DeSantis have said it is untenable for him to continue to have a strained relationship with Trump, particularly as he eyes his political future. He is widely viewed among Republican donors and consultants as weakened after a shellacking by Trump in the primary. (more)

REPORT: DeSantis Campaign Looking for a Fat Lady

Help Wanted

WHO: Fat Lady
WHERE: South Carolina
WHEN: Soon
WHAT: Sing

According to numerous meatball sources, somebody sneezed.  DeSantis has cancelled Sunday media appearances. It looks like the end is nigh, Armageddon is at hand, it’s over, the drain is circled, a fat lady is needed…

Via DAILY MAIL – […] DeSantis has also in recent days dwelt publicly on the sentiment among Trump supporters he met on the campaign trail, and their pledge to vote for him in the next cycle.

Speaking on Tuesday in South Carolina, DeSantis said that Trump voters in Iowa had told him they would support him in four years.

‘They were coming up to me saying, “We want you in 2028, we love you, man,” he said.

He told a similar story on NBC News.

‘I had people come up to me saying, “I love you, man. I’m going to do Trump this time and you next time,”‘ he said.

‘That’s not what I wanted to hear, but being there we did make an impression and it’s important.’ (read more)

(Via New York Times) – After a humbling loss in Iowa, Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida is starting to signal that he is building an off-ramp from the race for the Republican presidential nomination, a seeming acknowledgment of his dim prospects of defeating Donald J. Trump given his low poll numbers in New Hampshire and South Carolina.

So far this week, Mr. DeSantis has cast his eyes forward to 2028 with anecdotes about Trump supporters saying they would vote for him next time around if he runs again in four years. He has conceded that Mr. Trump’s thumping victory in Iowa on Monday made for a “good showing in terms of him winning the nomination.” And he has openly admitted that he believes he made a strategic mistake by icing out the traditional media earlier in the campaign.

It all amounted to a kind of frankness that Mr. DeSantis has not always shown in his public comments about the nominating contest — and a marked change in tone for a candidate who spent most of last year brashly promising he would win Iowa, which he lost by 30 points.

On Thursday, the conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt asked Mr. DeSantis if his campaign would survive through the end of March. The Florida governor replied that things were not necessarily going to plan. (read more)

DeSantis Team Downsizing, Focus on South Carolina

Posted originally on the CTH on January 18, 2024 | Sundance

There comes a time in every failing presidential campaign when the political consultants reorganize to take advantage of the smaller bucket of cash.  Team DeSantis is not trying to win in New Hampshire, they have decided to put all remaining resources into South Carolina.

Additionally, with DeSantis failing in the objective to win Iowa, it looks like the Christina Pushaw group of online influencers, herself included, have been dropped as a priority from the campaign strategy.

(Via New York Times) – […] As Mr. DeSantis’s team licked its wounds on Wednesday, his super PAC, Never Back Down, trimmed operations in several places, including Nevada. Other staff members were also laid off, including almost the entire online “war room” team, a person with knowledge of the matter said. Those who were cut had their email accounts immediately suspended. It was unclear how many people in all lost their jobs.

Mr. DeSantis also began moving a majority of his campaign staff — a separate group — to South Carolina to prepare for its Feb. 24 primary, according to a senior campaign official, who insisted on anonymity. And rather than campaign exclusively in New Hampshire this week, the final stretch before the primary election on Jan. 23, Mr. DeSantis will stump in South Carolina over the weekend, hoping that his conservative message will better align with primary voters.

His campaign on Wednesday framed the decision as a chance to deal a knockout blow to Ms. Haley.

“When Nikki Haley fails to win her home state, she’ll be finished and this will be a two-person race,” Andrew Romeo, a campaign spokesman, said in a statement. “We’re wasting no time in taking the fight directly to Haley on her home turf.”

But the move showed that Mr. DeSantis was all but giving up on competing in New Hampshire, where his poll numbers have been abysmal, trailing in the single digits far behind Mr. Trump and Ms. Haley. (read more)

The previous record for spending on a political campaign without benefit belonged to Jeb Bush.  I suspect when DeSantis fails in New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina, he will take the title from Jeb.

Ron DeSantis Campaign Very Upset – Accuse Media of “Election Interference” for Calling Race for President Trump

Posted originally on the CTH on January 15, 2024 | Sundance

Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley are locked in a tight race for the coveted first-loser title.  However, the DeSantis campaign is very upset with the media for declaring President Trump the Iowa winner.

[Story Here]

Big sad.

Tonight, all the Ron DeSantis conscripts, and paid influencers start to realize there’s not going to be any income potential for them in a few weeks.  It’s a cold look in the mirror when “learning to code” applies to your collapsed career.

The Ron DeSantis Closing Message to Iowa is a Perfect Encapsulation of Ron DeSantis

Posted originally on the CTH on January 15, 2024 | Sundance

I doubt this guy is going to come in second place, maybe third; yet there’s a possibility he could even drop to a devastating fourth.  The short answer about why is in this closing message.  The Florida governor shows who he is.

Giving his closing message to Iowa voters, Ron DeSantis attacks Donald Trump by saying, “if you kiss the ring, he’ll say you’re wonderful.  You can be the strongest, most dynamic successful Republican and conservative in America, but if you don’t kiss that ring, then he’ll try to trash you.”  This comes after Ron DeSantis was desperate in 2018 and likely to lose the Florida governor race to a drug fueled porn addict, so his team begged Donald Trump for assistance.

American voters are not stupid.  The labeling and attacking do not work when it is full of fraud, sanctimony and hypocrisy.  That said, this is also why DeSantis has very few friends and even fewer endorsements amid those in the Florida delegation who know him best. WATCH:

.

You know what the strange thing is…. I doubt strongly that Ron DeSantis has any idea just how much damage he has done to himself with this campaign.  The echo-chamber around DeSantis is so necessarily isolating, only after he drops out will he personally begin to absorb just how small, pathetic and insignificant he has become.

DeSantis Responds to Ramaswamy Challenge to Pull Out of Colorado – Saying: No Way, Those Delegates Are Now Mine

Posted originally on the CTH on December 20, 2023 | Sundance

Folks, before getting to the substance of what you are about to see and hear, let me point out something very serious.

When you listen to the gleeful whispers of demons on your shoulder, something physically begins to manifest.  Look at Ron DeSantis carefully.  I mean, really look at him.  Do you see it?  Notice the absence of light, joy and happiness around him.  The Florida Governor is traveling in a very dark psychological place, and it shows.

In this interview (prompted), Ron DeSantis is asked about the challenge by Vivek Ramaswamy for all candidates to pull out of the Colorado primary after the state supreme court decided to use black-robed political power in an effort to remove President Donald Trump from the ballot.  DeSantis, dancing with demons, says he is not withdrawing from Colorado, because those precious delegates will now be his.  WATCH:

Tucker Carlson Calls DeSantis Influencers: “the nastiest, stupidest, and the most zero-sum people I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Posted originally on the CTH on December 18, 2023 | Sundance

Oh snap, this is buckets of funny.  The DeSantis influencers are having major ‘splodey heads right now.  The meltdowns are too funny.  What makes this even more hilarious is that DeSantis online influencers considered Tucker Carlson to be a major player in their tribe.

Speaking at the Turning Point USA event to Tim Pool {Direct Rumble Link}, Tucker Carlson gave his opinion on the Ron DeSantis online influence campaign; saying, “the people who represent him online are the nastiest, the stupidest, and the most zero-sum people I’ve ever seen in my life.”  WATCH:

It’s funny, because it’s true.

Christina Pushaw put all of her attention into recruiting online “influencers” in 2022, and they turned out to be the most rude, obnoxious, nasty people on all social media.  It’s just too funny, because we watched it unfold in real time.

FEC Complaint Filed Against DeSantis Campaign and Super PAC for Illegal Coordination

Posted originally on the CTH on December 18, 2023 | Sundance

Given Federal Election Commission (FEC) campaign finance laws and limits therein, any outside super PAC is forbidden from coordinating with the official campaign of the candidate.  Over the years the use of super PACs to fund campaigns has become increasingly obvious as the lines were blurred.  The DeSantis campaign and Never Back Down Super PAC took ‘obvious’ to an entirely new level within the 2024 election effort.  Now, a complaint has been filed [SEE COMPLAINT HERE]

The coordination between the Never Back Down group and the DeSantis campaign has been brutally obvious.  NBD even pays for almost all the campaign expenses and were not trying to hide the coordination when the Florida Governor was touring Iowa riding on the Never Back Down bus.

Additionally, DeSantis campaign managers even held donor fundraising events with the leadership of Never Back Down at the same venue, delivering speeches to the same audience, and generally being obvious with their enmeshed operation.  However, it’s still illegal by FEC rules, and the complaint filed is most likely to lead to significant action by the FEC.

Prior to 2023 the most brutally obvious coordination was between Carly Fiorina and the super PAC “Carly for America” in 2015/2016.  Factually, almost all of the Fiorina campaign expenses were paid by the CfA Super PAC.  Interestingly, in June 2015 it was Ted Cruz’s “Keep The Promise” Super PAC that funded the $500,000 seed money for Carly Fiorina before Donald Trump even announced his candidacy [Doc HERE].

That Cruz to Fiorina seed money was one of the visible “tripwires” in our “splitter strategy” outlining how the professional Republican apparatus constructs the illusion of choice.  Cruz was campaigning in 2015/16 for the same intents as DeSantis in 2023/24, that’s why the participants are identical.

Ted Cruz was funded in the ’16 race to create the path for Jeb Bush.  However, despite our efforts to show how obvious it was, still too few people were willing to accept that both the RNC and DNC corporations control the political systems and end up selecting the candidates.   Most GOP voters believed the Republican primary election was authentic and/or natural – it never was.

Fast forward to ’23/’24, and there has been a great awakening.  Now, with the continued visibility of Donald Trump in politics, more people see how the two private corporations collude with billionaires and multinational corporations to select the acceptable Republican candidate.  The cloud behind the “illusion of choice” has lifted, and thanks in no small part to the Never Trump movement, people can see how the GOPe control operation works.

I would make the argument the DeSantis 2024 operation was planned out long ago, around the time when DeSantis and Paul Ryan left congress (2018).  That’s just how the professionally Republican operations work.  They are always positioning their efforts long before anyone is paying attention.  It is not coincidental to me that this was the exact same time when Nikki Haley left the Trump administration.

Fortunately for us, and unfortunately for the deaf/blind professional Republican apparatus who ignore us, the playbook used by the RNC club, billionaire donors, multinationals and DC control officers is failing.  There has been a great awakening, and MAGA base voters moved faster and with more intensity than their Bernie Sanders counterparts on the other wing of the UniParty.

The MAGA base had the fortunate insight from the GOPe effort to destroy the Tea Party movement.  All those abusive memories came back into play in 2016, and they still remain to this day.   Presidential candidate Donald Trump represents the second party in the political dynamic, and the broad American working class have figured it all out.

Donald Trump represents We The People, and that’s ultimately why the professional DC system is trying to eliminate him.

They will fail, just like their DeSantis operation failed.

Jeff Roe Resigns from Ron DeSantis Super PAC After Staff Leaks Massive Turmoil Amid Campaign Collapse

Posted originally on the CTH on December 16, 2023 | Sundance

Following a scathing insider report of the turmoil within the campaign and SuperPAC for presidential candidate Ron DeSantis, chief strategist Jeff Roe resigns.

It is stunning to contemplate the starting point of $269,000,000.00 [and more since] has essentially done nothing except destroy the public image and brand of Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis.   No presidential campaign has ever amassed such a proactive funding war chest and blown it to smithereens before the first votes have even taken place.

Never Back Down Super PAC Chief Strategist, Jeff Roe, delivered the following statement via Twitter:

The Washington Post presented a scathing report [SEE HERE] outlining details provided by 22 people in the DeSantis campaign and Super PAC.   Within hours of that report being posted, Jeff Roe quit.

WaPo – […] With just weeks to go before the Iowa caucuses, the experiment is now in tatters. The super PAC that funded almost all of the DeSantis advertising and field programs and much of the candidate’s travel and events has been sidelined by the people that created it.

[…]  Five senior officials have left Never Back Down since late November. Three officials with Roe’s firm were fired, and the board chairman and the founding chief executive both resigned, amid internal concerns about legal compliance. A verbal conflict from inside the group’s Atlanta offices became public, as did DeSantis’s own misgivings about the outside group’s leadership. The governor and his campaign staff have been frustrated by reporting on the drama around Never Back Down and critical of the group’s ad strategy, with DeSantis’s second campaign manager, James Uthmeier, publicly instructing donors to give elsewhere for TV ads.

Rather than a new playbook for presidential campaigns, the broader DeSantis project has exposed the dangers of depending on emerging loopholes in campaign finance law that allow candidates to turn over traditional election efforts to groups that can take donations of any size from corporations or individuals.

“The super PAC model of winning a presidential primary, I think, is staggering, if not on the ropes,” said one DeSantis donor. “And if you’re going to have a successful presidential primary campaign you need to be able to raise hard dollars.”

[…] On Saturday, a top official at Never Back Down elaborated on the firings in a statement that for the first time publicly suggested their rationale. “Following mismanagement and conduct issues, including numerous unauthorized leaks containing false information, senior officials were terminated,” said Never Back Down chairman Scott Wagner. “We don’t have time to indulge false narratives from those with ulterior motives.”

The Post asked employees for a response. A lawyer for the employees then contacted Wagner claiming his assertions were categorically false and he revised his statement, replacing the first sentence with: “Following some opinions regarding mismanagement and conduct issues, including some who believed there appeared to be numerous unauthorized leaks containing false information, NBD and some senior officials parted ways. ”

A representative for the three former employees declined to comment Saturday.

Three people familiar with the super PAC’s decision-making described reasons for suspecting the three fired officials of wrongdoing, but the organization did not provide clear evidence implicating them. Two other people familiar with the inner workings of the group said they are not aware of proof.

[…]  Still, some in DeSantis’s orbit are holding out hope for a comeback. During his first campaign for governor, DeSantis won despite shaking up his team late in the race.

“Clearly, we are underperforming. Clearly we haven’t lived up to the billing. But I do think this adaptive behavior is going to produce better results in the end,” said Dan Eberhart, a DeSantis donor. “Clearly, Haley has some momentum nationally. Clearly, Trump is lapping the field. But I think he’s got an underdog’s chance at pulling off a humongous upset.” (read more)

The DeSantis loyalists promise to keep swinging for the fences.  However, everything around their effort was/is built upon fraud, manipulation, deceit and astroturf.  This outcome should not come as a surprise to those who have followed along.

Almost everyone in the operation and in the promotion thereof, are retreads from the failed Ted Cruz campaign of 2016.  Someone in professional GOPe circles had the idea to enmesh the Never Trump group with the Bush team and try to build a brand image for Ron DeSantis that could co-opt the MAGA base.

It was a stupid strategy from the outset, made even worse by their tone-deaf missing of reality.  Tens-of-millions of core base voters have their eyes wide open now.  They are not going to destroy the movement, and the collapse of Ron DeSantis just shows how strategically smart the base voter has become.

At a certain point, the pretending hits the sunlight of reality.
