Thoughtful Monologue, Tucker Carlson Discusses the Potential Impact of a Free Speech Twitter

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on October 29, 2022 | Sundance

Tucker Carlson used his opening monologue Friday evening to outline his perspective on the Elon Musk takeover of the social media platform Twitter.   Generally, Carlson does a good job framing the big picture of national events; however, Carlson outdid himself on this contextualized delivery.

While the underlying premise of Carlson’s position is structured on a yet-to-be-seen possibility of free speech, the context for the importance of the moment is very well presented.  I hope that Tucker Carlson is correct in regard to the altruistic intent of Mr. Musk.  Well worth watching:

Carlson’s monologue reminded me of Oleg’s brilliant take on this moment in history (picture below):

President Trump Will Not Return to Twitter, While Elon Musk Says Content Decisions Will Be Made By “Moderation Council”

Earlier today President Trump noted he would not be returning to the Twitter social media platform; he likes Truth Social better:

Additionally, with a great deal of interest in what will happen to the Twitter platform, Mr. Elon Musk has announced a diverse moderation council will be created to make content rules and guidelines.  Following up with a reply, “we have not yet made any changes to Twitter’s content moderation policies.”

There is a great deal of interest in the outcome of the purchase of Twitter.  However, it is worth tempering any expectations and taking a wait and see approach.

Is Musk independent?  Does anyone really know?

From what my own research indicates, and assuming Mr Musk is entirely independent minded, I think it may take any “independent” Musk team quite a while to find out exactly what the internal networks of Twitter are all about.

My guess is, there are background connections in the Twitter code [compatibility datasets to align with other (shadow?) networks] that will take a long time to unravel.

I stand by my original inclination:  Twitter is to the U.S. Govt, what TikTok is to China.

President Trump Announces Midterm Election Rallies in Key States Including Florida, as Democrats Abandon the Sunshine State

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on October 27, 2022 | sundance

President Donald J Trump has announced four key election week rallies, with more possible, as the race to the midterm election comes down the stretch.

The announced stops include Sioux City, Iowa (Thursday 11/3); Latrobe, Pennsylvania (Saturday 11/5); Miami, Florida (Sunday 11/6); and Dayton, Ohio on Monday November 07.  See Below:

The Sunday evening event in Miami, Florida, is happening as Democrat donors and party officials have all but given up on the state.  According to Politico:

[…] “Most worrisome for Democrats, national organizations and donors have all but abandoned their candidates — setting off fears that Florida is no longer viewed as competitive. That would have dire implications for the next presidential election.”

[…] “Translation: It’s over. And it’s going to be ugly.”

It’s not the only bad sign for Democrats in Miami-Dade County, where nearly 60 percent of voters are Hispanic. An internal poll released earlier this month by Democrat Annette Taddeo had her beating her Republican opponent, Rep. María Elvira Salazar, by just 1 point in Miami-Dade County’s 27th Congressional District — but with DeSantis up on Crist by 6 points in that district. DeSantis lost the district in 2018 by nearly 8 points. (read more)

President Trump organizing a Sunday rally in Miami-Dade for Marco Rubio, where Trump’s support level far exceeds current Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, is a smart move.  Rubio will benefit from the high Latino loyalty to President Trump, gain additional exposure in a high-density population, and put the nail in the coffin for Democrats in their former stronghold.

Despite the anxiety it brings to the Republican Club, the unique nature of Miami-Dade shows how the MAGA message attracts a deep and wide coalition of working-class voters.  In a general sense, the electorate shift in Miami-Dade is indicative of a new Trump brand of the republican party, focused on economic outcomes and America-First.

In a separate article, the GOPe club members aligned with more acceptable form republican, specifically Governor Ron DeSantis, are angered that President Trump would extend his influence and rally support for Marco Rubio without requesting prior approval and unity with the Florida governor.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Former President Donald Trump is coming to Miami just two days before Election Day. But one Republican won’t be there — Gov. Ron DeSantis. Not yet anyway.

Trump on Wednesday said he’ll hold a rally with Sen. Marco Rubio on Nov. 6. DeSantis was left off the announcement and an adviser to the former president said the Florida governor is not attending.

The apparent snub angered some people within DeSantis’ orbit, who complained that the Florida governor’s team was not informed of the rally prior to Trump announcing it. The timing of the Trump and Rubio event means any campaign event DeSantis holds that day won’t get as much attention during the all-important final stretch of the 2022 midterms.

“You’ve got the Sunday before Election Day totally hijacked by Trump parachuting in on Trump Force One taking up the whole day,” said a longtime Republican consultant who is close to the governor. “No Republican could go to a DeSantis event that day. None. And DeSantis won’t be here? This is big.”

Another person who is influential in DeSantis’ world said it was “an elbow to Ron’s throat” and blamed Trump advisers. (read more)

The Florida rally announcement comes on the heels of Ron DeSantis endorsing anti-MAGA Colorado candidate Joe O’Dea, a republican who promised to campaign against President Trump and any MAGA candidate who supports him.

The complaining DeSantis 2024 organizers are a mixture of allied republican establishment figures, corporate party donors and former Ted Cruz base supporters (Never Trumpers) who have united in common cause to stop the MAGA working-class coalition from taking full control of the republican party.

When DeSantis went into the bunker on the day of the FBI Mar-a-Lago raid, remained silent for 5 days, and then exited bunker with a new establishment brand image crew and communications team, it was obvious what happened.  We accept things as they are, not as we would wish them to be.

Governor Ron DeSantis is 94% funded by Wall Street hedge fund managers, billionaires and multinational corporations,… to the tune of over $200,000,000….. with a national campaign launch, book launch and national television advertising strategy….  The national campaign is brutally obvious.

Ron DeSantis in 2024 is Jeb Bush + Ted Cruz in 2016.

  • Five Days in Bunker following Mar-a-Lago Raid 8/9/22
  • No expressed support for Donald Trump following Mar-a-Lago raid 8/9/22.
  • New brand image consulting team 8/14/22
  • New communications team 8/14/22
  • National advertising campaign
  • 94% billionaire and corporate funding
  • Raised $200+ million for a state governor race?
  • Cancels Lee Zeldin fundraiser after meeting with New York real estate donor who supports Hochul
  • Endorsed by Club For Growth (C4G)
  • Voted to support TPP trade agreement and Obama Fast Track trade authorization
  • Supports all Ukraine funding and U.S. government spending in Ukraine
  • Endorsed Florida Red Flag Laws, most firearm confiscation of any state
  • Silent over the 100 Florida citizen J6 detainees (largest number in nation)
  • Asked legislature to criminalize boycotts of Israeli companies, including pharmaceutical companies
  • No support for E-verify system or employment law against illegal alien hires
  • Endorsed by Paul Ryan
  • Endorsed by Jeb Bush
  • Refused to answer question about filling his full term as governor if reelected.

.

Ron DeSantis is a generally good governor, and he has full support from a GOP controlled state legislature; but only time will tell if he is dishonest in his national intents.  Every Floridian should vote for Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, granting him the benefit of the doubt that he will be around as governor for the next four years.   However, if/when DeSantis wins reelection, he would destroy his own career by announcing a 2024 presidential bid six months later.

Had Ron DeSantis stated his intention to fully serve his entire term as the Republican governor of Florida, I doubt President Trump would be sending shots across GOPe bow.

Local Arizona Media Poll, Candidate Kari Lake Pulling Away as Democrat Katie Hobbs Refuses to Debate

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on October 26, 2022 | Sundance

The primary reason Katie Hobbs is refusing to debate has to be connected to her complete lack of qualifications and her transparent lack of articulate intelligence.  Having watched a few interviews with Hobbs, it’s obvious more visibility would only hurt her.

Conversely, the more voters see Mrs. Kari Lake the more they like her.  Mrs Lake is a very impressive and articulate candidate on policy and substance. Additionally, she believes her message and speaks directly to the concerns of Arizona voters.

A recent poll released today by Fox10 shows Mrs. Lake pulling ahead:

ARIZONA – […] With less than 2 weeks to go before the November election, Republican Kari Lake leads Democrat Katie Hobbs by 11 percentage points. Only about 2% of voters are undecided. Pollster Matt Towery believes that Hobbs’ reluctance to debate Lake may be a reason why the gap has widened in recent weeks. According to InsiderAdvantage, Lake is polling higher among older adults and Hispanics. (more)

I have a hunch the VP position is going to come down to Marjorie Taylor Greene or Kari Lake.

Governor Ron DeSantis Easily Won His Debate, Yet Flubbed The Most Predictable Question

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on October 25, 2022 | Sundance

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the lying liar who lies, Charlie Crist, held their one and only debate last night.  Of all the gubernatorial debates so far, this one was probably the best.  Thankfully, DeSantis won the debate on substance because Crist just sucks. However, DeSantis flubbed the most predictable question that was asked.

Every Floridian should vote for DeSantis, because Crist is just an unbearable alternative. That said, the insufferable Charlie Crist asked Governor DeSantis to commit to a four-year term in office and promise the Florida voters he would not abandon his state to run for the GOP nomination in 2024; effectively making DeSantis only a six-month reelected governor because national campaigning will start in June 2023.

It is true, the question should have come from the moderator, because it’s a transparently obvious and predictable question.  However, regardless of who actually asked it, the non-response from Governor DeSantis was telling.  WATCH (just first minute):

.

A few things about that non-response are remarkable.

First, even a middle school debate coach would have known that question was likely in the debate.  The fact that DeSantis did not have a well-rehearsed and prepared canned answer to the question is a reflection of stunningly poor debate prep.

Second, the evasive and non-truthful answer he did give, totally avoiding the question, shows the incredible weakness within a candidate that is a specific outcome of a lack of honesty.  That response is also reflective of why Donald Trump wins every debate.  Trump wields truth as an effective weapon.

HONESTY – Ron DeSantis could have said, “Charlie, because of my successful leadership in the state of Florida, there are a lot of people who want me to run for the GOP nomination in 2024. There are also a lot of people offering money as an incentive for me to make that decision because the current state of our nation under Joe Biden is in such a mess.  Whether I will or not is an open question that voters should consider; but I can assure everyone my work on behalf of Florida -a state I love- will never change.”

That type of an answer would be honest and respected.  Florida voters deserve to know where Governor DeSantis stands on a 2024 presidential campaign.  After all, it will consume most of the focus and time of the governor for 18 months before November 2024.

That type of an answer should also have been canned in a response awaiting the question.  The absence of that type of an honest answer tells us something about the campaign authenticity aspect to Ron DeSantis.

The truth has no agenda, while the absence of truth always does.

This authenticity aspect is why Donald Trump won every one of the dozen debates in 2015 and 2016.  He just speaks the truth regardless of comfort, expectation or disposition.

Q: “You have called women fat pigs etc.?”  –  A: “Only Rosie O’Donnell”…

Q: “You called Mexicans rapists etc.?” – A: “Well, someone’s doing the raping”…

Q: “You only support people who like you?” – A: “It’s true. I only like the people who like me”…

Q: “You have been talking to Kim Jong-un?”  – A: “True. Shouldn’t we talk to everyone and try to avoid conflict?  We also got along great”…

There’s no pretense in Trump’s responses.  There is an authenticity in the humanness of the honesty.  Trump wins debates because he answers the questions honestly as he sees them. He’s not uncomfortable being honest about his intent, reasons or even his own self-image.

Ron DeSantis on the other hand avoids his own discomfort in answering a question that should have been easily predicted.  There is something very unnerving about it.

Every Floridian should vote for Ron DeSantis, granting him the benefit of the doubt that he will be around as governor for the next four years.   However, if/when DeSantis wins reelection, he would destroy his own career by announcing a 2024 run six months later.

MAGA Inc Super PAC Spends $9 Million For Support of Senate MAGA Candidates

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on October 24, 2022 | Sundance

Newsmax is no longer a good MAGA outlet. However, that said, Alina Habba, Esq, attorney to Donald Trump and spokesperson for the MAGA, Inc. Super PAC provides information on the recent $9 million midterm election spend to support senate candidates.

I find it a little funny how the RNC insiders gripe and complain that Donald Trump and the MAGA vote base do not spend more money on RNC approved candidates. Actually, I cannot remember a time before when an individual politician was required to fund the party slate, simultaneous to the party insiders supporting candidates who attack the individual candidate and MAGA base voters.  Then again, it’s all part of the internal MAGA fight for control over the RNC apparatus.  WATCH:
