Earlier today President Donald Trump noted the recent circular reporting by news media about the status of HHS Secretary Alex Azar are fake news.
.
The tweet comes a day after Politico and the Wall Street Journal first made the claim. Then CNN reported on the reporting of the fake news; and the Washington Post reported on the reporting of the reporting of the fake news. Thus the circular reporting of reporters reporting on the reporting of reporters travels exponentially into the ether of nothingness.

The word “absurd” doesn’t even begin to describe this ridiculous demand by New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio as he publicly says he wants the federal government to replace all of the missing revenue from the COVID-19 economic shut-down. This is bonkers.
If the federal government was to even consider taking such action it would essentially be promoting all states and cities to remain shut-down forever; because, in the mind of those who live from the government trough, there would be no need to reopen. The mental disconnect here is incredible. I think the needle on my ‘nope-meter‘ just broke off.
While private citizens, private companies and private workers are forced –by government– to remain locked in their homes; unable to earn a living and on the cusp of financial despair, or face arrest; the NYC Mayor wants the government system and workers to be isolated from any economic impact via a federal bailout. WATCH:
Senator Tom Cotton appears on Fox News with Maria Bartiromo to discuss how China handled the Wuhan Virus and their intentional manipulation of information in order to achieve their geopolitical goals.
After China intentionally seeded the world with their virus they continued to collect all of the global PPE so they could use it later as geopolitical leverage and a profit opportunity. Senator Cotton is calling for a complete structural change in our relationship with China to include: removal of critical manufacturing from China and the suspension of all Chinese visas.
SECRETARY POMPEO – Indeed, last year, a Chinese Government-backed think tank in Beijing produced a report that assessed all 50 of America’s governors on their attitudes towards China. They labeled each of you “friendly,” “hardline,” or “ambiguous.”
I’ll let you decide where you think you belong. Someone in China already has. Many of you, indeed, in that report are referenced by name.
So here’s the lesson: The lesson is that competition with China is not just a federal issue. It’s why I wanted to be here today, Governor Hogan. It’s happening in your states with consequences for our foreign policy, for the citizens that reside in your states, and indeed, for each of you.
Axios had an article earlier this year and included the Chinese Communist Party Report [Cloud pdf Here] It will be interesting to see how and when each of these governors responds to the re-opening of their economy post COVID-19 peak. Will there be a correlation to their CCP assigned alignment?
Fox News host Chris Wallace is to Fox News as George Stephanopoulos is to ABC. Both members of the allied uniparty system function for the same purpose. Once you see the strings on the marionette is impossible to go back to a time when you did not see them. Wallace’s job is to manipulate his audience while giving the impression of questioning.
In today’s interview with Secretary Mnuchin the insufferable Wallace is cheering for as much economic damage as possible and questioning anyone who might dare have a more fact-based approach. At one point Wallace even calls the CBO “independent experts”.

The biggest of all the bigger financial issues around the economic shut-down will ultimately come down to a battle this spring/summer over a massive bailout for state governments to replace their missing revenue. States like California, New Jersey, Illinois, Connecticut & New York have been struggling with financial issues for years.
“You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.” ~ Rahm Emanuel
Long before the Wuhan Virus those states were near financial collapse. The only thing keeping them afloat was as expanding economy, and new revenue as a result of President Trump’s economic policies (making bigger pies).
The economic shut-down in those specific states makes their preexisting financial trouble exponentially worse.
Not only will CA, NJ, IL, CT and New York demand a bailout, a very massive bailout to cover their revenue shortfall, but they will almost certainly use the wuhan virus as an excuse to cover and bail-out preexisting budget deficits. Governor Andrew Cuomo hinted toward his intention weeks ago. He sees this as an opportunity to get federal money.
So when Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell throws a bucket of ice water in the face of blue state governors who were anticipating to “make money” by forcing the country to subsidize their overindulgent spending habits, obviously Cuomo is apoplectic.
For several decades, and particularly since 2008, the issue of unfunded liabilities has been a growing problem for the Blue State governors. One reason Obamacare was created was to address this issue on the union and healthcare side. However, the underlying over-spending by state legislators/governors was never addressed.
The solution of allowing states to declare bankruptcy has been a part of that discussion for years. However, every Blue state governor knows if they declare bankruptcy they will never sell another bond again…. which means no investment… which means they will implode.
If the laws changed allowing states to declare bankruptcy, internally the blue states would collapse… there would be a massive exodus… people would flee the rust and collapse…. housing values would plummet overnight in Blue states…. business would leave… unemployment would skyrocket…. it would be statewide chaos.
The ultimate result would be smaller populations within the Blue state misery zones.
Think about the worst impacts and outcomes within the city of Detroit, Michigan, due to these issues on a municipal level… now overlay that visible outcome across an entire state; or group of states.
So we can look forward to an epic battle over federal bailouts of the state revenue shortfall. New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Connecticut and California will be demanding hundreds of billions, perhaps trillions.
This will be one of the issues that frames the election.
It took President Donald Trump three years to build the world’s best economy with an unemployment rate of only 3.5%, rising wages, strong consumer confidence and a robust stock market. Sadly, it only took three weeks for that healthy economy to be destroyed and the longer the economy is closed for business, the harder it will be for our nation to recover.
The economic statistics are truly staggering. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projects that the economy will shrink by 40% this quarter and that the unemployment rate will rise to 16% this year, before declining in the fourth quarter of this year and next year. For comparison, the nation’s all-time high unemployment rate reached 24.9% at the height of the Great Depression in 1933.
Our country cannot afford to wait any longer, as we have no viable choice. Economic collapse is not an option that most Americans will tolerate
Since the shutdown began in mid-March, the nation has lost 26.5 million jobs. In Louisiana, there has been an astounding 5,677% increase in unemployment claims from last year. It has suffered the second highest percentage increase in unemployment, behind only Florida. These states and others that rely on retail sales, hospitality and tourism are suffering the worst. Other states like Vermont and Connecticut that have a greater number of high paying “white collar” jobs are doing much better.
Some health experts are arguing that the country cannot open the economy until there are almost no new COVID-19 cases. Such an argument is patently ridiculous. As noted by U.S. Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) such a strategy will lead to the collapse of the economy. According to Kennedy, “I wish we could do that, but we will have burned down the village to save it.”
Economic realities are why some states are moving forward with a limited opening, despite opposition from President Trump. The most aggressive action was taken in Georgia by Republican Governor Brian Kemp. He signed an executive order allowing a variety of businesses to open, including theaters, restaurants and gyms. These businesses must maintain social distancing guidelines and restrictions. The order did not extend to nightclubs or bars.
Other states such as Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, Alaska, Montana and Colorado are relaxing restrictions and allowing some businesses to reopen. This trend will surely accelerate in the days and weeks ahead. Our country cannot afford to wait any longer, as we have no viable choice. Economic collapse is not an option that most Americans will tolerate.
This health driven economic experiment has already been too costly
This health driven economic experiment has already been too costly. It is undoubtedly one of the reasons why we have never closed our economy before, even during the flu pandemics of 1918, 1957, 1968 or 2009.
It is never a good strategy to throw people out of work, give them government checks and then try to restart the economy on a limited basis months later. There is no historical precedent showing that such a strategy has succeeded, certainly not on a short-term basis.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been four stimulus packages already approved by Congress and signed into law by President Trump. These packages have cost over $2.8 trillion, boosting a federal debt that has already increased by $5 trillion during the Trump administration. The CBO report predicts the overall federal debt will approach $25 trillion this year with a budget deficit of $2.1 trillion next year. These debts are not sustainable as the federal government cannot print enough money to solve our self-imposed economic problems.
If we do not reopen the economy, we will face an economic Armageddon worse than the Great Depression
In the view of U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), these actions bring the United States “closer and closer to a point of no return, a point at which the world loses confidence in the dollar. A point at which our debt becomes an existential threat to our security.” He said, “No amount of money, not all the money in China, will save us from ourselves. Our only hope of rescuing this great country is to reopen the economy.”
Of course, Senator Paul is correct. If we do not reopen the economy, we will face an economic Armageddon worse than the Great Depression. Even an establishment Republican like Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell understands this reality. He warned his fellow Americans that “unless we get our economy up and running again there is not any way, we can spend enough to continue to prop up the country.”
President Trump claimed that the new relief package he signed on Friday will be “great for small businesses.” The reality is that a government loan is not “great,” but it is necessary assistance to allow many of these small businesses to remain open. True relief will not come until the economy is fully reopened and Americans can return to some semblance of normalcy.
The Democrat’s insane eternal war against President Trump places our Republic in mortal peril. This inexplicable siege can only be understood by studying original leftist ideology, explaining why myriads of influential public liberals fought Trump like Satan incarnate immediately upon election. And why serious, highly placed persons lied, schemed, risked reputations, careers and even prison to remove him. Because Trump threatened liberal political religion. But, if religion is considered a relic of the past, how does this archaic instinct wreak such havoc today?
History holds the mysteries to fanaticism
Most frightening, the realization Democrats may destroy the US economy to stop Trump. Why else would demented Dems block bailout passage for weeks as the crisis raged? In the midst of pandemic pandemonium, why more hate and revenge? Simply, Trump represents extirpation, root and branch, of all their hopes and dreams. For leftists, a godless posse, there is no greater fight. Enemies of holy bureaucracy must be demonized and destroyed, even if the host society is reduced to rubble. The same craziness devoured both the USSR and Communist China, while still active today in China.
A poorly oiled machine, our unhinged political class, corrupt academia and elite media work hand-in-glove to discredit President Trump. Yet, their attempted coup was a devastating mistake, launching too early, before Trump was even in office. Therefore, no one could claim Trump failed as president. Instead, the “Russia Investigation” was a savage assault directed against the American Republic.
Question: Would the progressive ship of fools really destroy the entire US economy, by virus shutdown, to remove just one man? Yes. Crazy? Remember liberalism is injected into bone marrow of young students, explaining its emotional appeal and adherence beyond fact or reason, just like religion. Also, socialist forefathers overpowered both USSR and China to impoverish a billion while murdering 100 million innocents, creating not utopia, but hell on earth.
History holds the mysteries to fanaticism. Early 19th century atheist ideologies arose alongside novel political religions, offering no inherent rights. These new beliefs rejected, whole-cloth, traditional Bible religions. Implacable refusal of God’s sacred writ jettisoned the Ten Commandments. Every human decision became transaction-based “Pragmatism,” judged only by result. Therefore, lying became simply another tool. For, how can one ‘lie’ if there is no Truth? Fyodor Dostoevsky summarizes the result: If God does not exist, then everything is permitted.
The real danger is liberal’s casual indifference to despotism, lawlessness and violence
Diabolical leftist logic is the subject of Dostoevsky’s masterpiece, The Demons. These “demons” are violent beliefs invading Tsarist Russia, turning ordinary folk into ferocious fanatics. In this world, no religious truth exists, so into the void pours all passion for a new world, via rabid revolution. It’s a study of Christian society undermined by illiterate insanity of blind zealots remaking the world in their own image, achieving only death and ashes. These same rabid convictions live today in US liberals, much like an ancient plague found in a retrograde group. Leftist recruits constantly expose themselves by sabotaging this administration and unhinged attacks upon Trump..
Originally, leftism arose in Paris via spiritual revolt, supplanting Christianity. First was Parisian Auguste Comte’s ‘Religion of Mankind’ and ‘Positivism’ – a ‘scientific’ society. Then post French-Revolution writers birthed the “French Commune.” Marxism offered an intoxicating brew of absolute scientific ‘Truth’, bitter anti-Christianity, and militant atheistic missionaries seeking apocalyptic war for the soul of the world. Strangely, Marxism resembles a dispirited church where politics took the place of creed, liturgy and ministers. Don’t forget, Saul Alinksy learned community-organizing from militant Chicago priests.
Liberal’s casual indifference to despotism, lawlessness and violence
Understand Pelosi’s crazy posture becomes easy realizing politics is her highest authority. Liberals long to force ‘truth’ on others, even while co-opting religion, even hilariously stating, “I pray for my opponents.” Or, know when leftist governors casually assume draconian powers to mindlessly nitpick constituent activities, like buying seeds to garden, or going to church, they expose true despotic beliefs. Thus, self-defense comes by assuming all leftists are secret fanatics.
The real danger is liberal’s casual indifference to despotism, lawlessness and violence. This mindless nihilism offers absence of order, authority, and law. Further, within Marxism reigns the cult of holy revolution teaching it mystically always brings a new, higher order. Despite her high position, Nancy Pelosi and her minions slum in the gutters, continually opening new “investigations” meant to harass, if not defeat President Trump.
Dear Reader, understand these times are the battle of our lives. Desperate socialists, many highly placed, frantically seek to steal our Republic. Let’s steel ourselves during this crisis and prepare to battle in public forums, ballot box, and with organizing and funding. We must resist crafty opportunists scheming to rob our independence and liberty to transform us into slaves of the deified state.
Recorded on April 23, 2020 Victor Davis Hanson is both a classical scholar at the Hoover Institution and a farmer in the San Joaquin Valley of California. He’s also a defender of the President, (his book The Case For Trump spent weeks on the best seller lists in 2019), and a close observer of the scientific and medical communities. These disparate interests and fields of study give him very unique perspectives and insights on the current COVID-19 crisis. We discuss the current situation with him in great detail, including the difficulties encountered by farmers, by research scientists and doctors, why some areas of the country are affected more than others, his theories about when the virus actually appeared in the U.S. and finally, what plagues of the ancient world can teach us about how to best manage and get past the situation the entire world finds itself in.
Recorded on March 27, 2020 Dr. Jay Bhattacharya is a professor of medicine at Stanford University. He is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a senior fellow at both the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research and the Stanford Freeman Spogli Institute. His March 24, 2020, article in the Wall Street Journal questions the premise that “coronavirus would kill millions without shelter-in-place orders and quarantines.” In the article he suggests that “there’s little evidence to confirm that premise—and projections of the death toll could plausibly be orders of magnitude too high.” In this edition of Uncommon Knowledge with Peter Robinson we asked Dr. Bhattacharya to defend that statement and describe to us how he arrived at this conclusion. We get into the details of his research, which used data collected from hotspots around the world and his background as a doctor, a medical researcher, and an economist. It’s not popular right now to question conventional wisdom on sheltering in place, but Dr. Bhattacharya makes a strong case for challenging it, based in economics and science.
