United Airlines sent out an announcement that the qualification for their mileage status has been cut by 50%. “Since you’re a member of our MileagePlus program, I’m writing to let you know that we’re reducing status qualifications by 50% for 2021, therefore making it easier to achieve status with MileagePlus. This means that travels you already completed this year, as well as any travel you take later this year, can help you reach a higher status for next year. You’ll still need a minimum of four flight segments on United or United Express®.”

My son says five are on ECMO in his ICU in Bakersfield and my daughter (fourth year surgical resident writes this):
From the residents that I know in NY, it is a very real thing. The icu is full and the ORs are now functioning as ICU. Right now, some of our surgery residents in my program are taking care for COVID pts since the icu staff and residents cannot handle anymore and are already overwhelmed.
I bet people are very skeptical and I can understand why. But when a lot of young people are dying and when orthopedist/ Ophthalmologist are working ERs to help with staff that are now sick, it’s a definite problem. I think people are expecting to see pts dying in the street and long lines to the ED which is not the case. Mostly it’s overwhelmed hospital staff that is also getting sick with minimal equipment and tests.

REPLY: I have a cousin who is a nurse. She has contracted COVID-19 after caring for those patients. Her husband is not in self-quarantine. So far, her symptoms are mild.

ANSWER: I do not know to what extent he was funding operations in India. Greenpeace was cut off for that activity. Gates, through his Gates Philanthropy Partners, is soliciting money to use to promote the COVID-19 global shut down. There is an independent organization that monitors things like the Gates Foundation. As Global Justice Now said in their report:

Insofar as his links to Al Gore, Netflix released a three-part series called “Inside Bill’s Brain: Decoding Bill Gates,” directed by Davis Guggenheim, who is best known for directing the Academy Award-winning Al Gore documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth.” But that is not the mere superficial line. Both Bill Gates and Al Gore funded $80 million toNature’s Fynd to the end goal of replacing meat, because dairy cows create so much CO2. This is the goal of the company to promote animal-free protein.

It is very sad to see but reports of domestic violence are up considerably. The risks are always there but sudden stress of job loss combined with the pressure cooker of being cooped up with an abusive partner are a recipe for disaster. Are more people being beaten than are infected with COVID 19?

ANSWER:Domestic abuse is rising, suicides are rising, you cannot destroy people’s freedoms like this. Schools are close along with daycare centers. We also expect a sharp rise in child abuse. Then you have crime soaring. NYPD said that crime is up 22.5% in February over the previous year. This is totally insane. You confine people you get violence out of sheer frustration. Then the poor are the hardest hit for they were living pay-check to pay-check. It is no surprise that they will turn to loot stores. It is long known that you starve a person and they will turn even the most honest person into robber for food. We have to stop these elitists who only look at the surface and never below to see the consequence of their theories.
Earlier this evening on Fox News, Tucker Carlson outlined a disconnect between dire national health models that predicted mass deaths and a reality not close to predictions.
As Carlson notes there are few professionals explaining why there is such a significant difference. Additionally, if we have shut down our economy based on models that were incorrect, well, when are we going to re-open our economy? Lots of questions… and unfortunately no-one seems to be allowed to ask them.

In the final analysis this crisis is going to come down to a very tribal set of decisions about when to re-engage the operations of U.S. society. Additionally, what changes and rules will be instituted as a result of some areas wanting to re-open, while others demand the continuance of an extended shut-down.
Red states -vs- Blue states. Urban -vs- Rural. Tribalism making the rules for those within specific geographic boundaries. That part of post COVID-19 panic is inherently predictable.
However, the disparity will need to be reconciled; and for that solution the Administrative State will likely demand the application of science as a solution. We can already hear these arguments within the discussions. Totalitarianism always shifts the discussion to science when disconcerting conversations are unavoidable. [See the Fabians]
The solution will be a COVID-19 vaccine; and to re-enter a full society everyone will be expected to get vaccinated to secure all other members of society. However, given the pesky issues with liberty, a mandated vaccine protocol will probably not pass muster.
Therefore those who wish to have unrestricted access to the entire country will be those who accept the vaccine. Those who do not accept the vaccine will have less choices.
Again, the solution returns to this outlook.
If you accept the vaccine, the state will register your compliance. Or not; it will be your choice. However, your access to society will also be based on your decision.

Today it is announced…. Beginning April 10th, and extending until the directive is lifted, covering your face is mandatory in the Los Angeles, California Directorate. Any citizen refusing to comply will be denied services:

Acting Secretary of the Navy Thomas Modly (pictured left) submitted his resignation Tuesday morning; and shortly thereafter Defense Secretary Mark Esper said he accepted the resignation, consulted with President Trump, and nominated Under Secretary of the Army James McPherson to be his replacement.
Secretary Modly resigned after making poorly-timed remarks to the crew of the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt about the judgement of captain Brett Crozier. Modly labeled Crozier as “stupid.” Bad form.
The poor judgement by Captain Brett Crozier did compromise his mission and publicly put our enemies on notice a nuclear powered asset was compromised. He deserved to be removed. However, in response, Secretary Modly also compromised the structure of command authority with public statements exhibiting his own bad judgement. Criticism of command leadership goes up, never down. Doofus. FUBAR.
Command authority is based on a very simple principle: Never compromise your position; and never compromise the position of your leadership. Criticism of decision-making amid leadership ranks can only go up the chain of command, never down.
Commander Brett Crozier and Navy Secretary Modly both violated this simple directive.
