Florida Senator Endorses President Donald Trump

Posted originally on the CTH on November 2, 2023 | Sundance

Former governor and now senator, Rick Scott, is well aware of the sentiment amid the Florida electorate.  Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is a toxic political commodity who will not even come close to winning his own state.   Senator Rick Scott endorses President Donald Trump.

Tampa, FL – Today, Senator Rick Scott announced his endorsement of President Donald Trump. If Republicans want to beat Joe Biden and rescue America from the mess he’s created, Republicans must nominate the strongest candidate. President Trump has a proven track record of strong leadership. During his presidency, America’s economy was booming, the border was secure, and China was being held accountable. It’s time for Republicans to come together and unite behind President Trump.

Senator Scott published an op-ed in Newsweek this morning on why he is backing President Trump:

“It’s time for the Republican Party to come together, behind one candidate, and declare with one voice that we are united in our efforts to defeat Joe Biden and rescue America.

I know most of the candidates running for president, and I respect their decision to put themselves through this very difficult process. They’ve made their case to voters, laid out their agendas and their plans, and told their stories. Make no mistake: every single one of them would be a better president than Joe Biden. But Republican voters are making their voices heard loud and clear. They want to return to the leadership of Donald Trump.

President Trump will be our nominee because America was safer and more prosperous when he led our nation. Our economy was booming, and we were achieving energy independence. He took on Communist China and stood up to dictators in Latin America. He did more for Israel than any other president in our history, bringing stability and peace in the Middle East through the Abraham Accords, while Joe Biden is undoing all the work his administration accomplished.” (read more)

Chris Christie Confident Mike Pence Exit Means He Could Pick Up Dozens of New Supporters

Posted originally on the CTH on October 29, 2023 | Sundance

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, whose stated mission has been to keep Trump from ascending to the White House again, is confident the field narrowing will bode well for his objectives.

In my estimation, Senator Tim Scott will be the next first-loser candidate to exit the race.

To qualify for the Miami debate, first-loser candidates need to reach at least four per cent in two national polls, or four per cent in one national poll and four per cent in two early primary states. Tim Scott has not reached the 4% national threshold.

The sketchy controlled operatives also need 70,000 individual donors, including 200 donors in 20 states, according to the requirements set by the Republican National Committee (RNC), because we all know money drives the RNC.

The donor standard pushed Pence to exit.

WASHINGTON DC – Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said he expects more people to drop out of the GOP presidential primary following the third debate, after former Vice President Mike Pence announced Saturday that he’s abandoning his White House bid.

“In the end, it just means this race is narrowing, which everyone said that it would,” Christie said during an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, after praising the former vice president for running “a tough race.”

“It will narrow more, I suspect, when we get to the debate stage in Miami,” Christie added.

Christie is set to take the debate stage Nov. 8, alongside three fellow Republican presidential hopefuls — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley — who have all hit the RNC’s polling and donor requirements, according to POLITCO’s analysis. (read more)

There are dozens of Pence supporters now looking for a new hope.  An insufferably intemperate Chris Christie looks to capitalize on the Pence coalition and push his polling to 2.00001% or more.  Driven by desperate billionaire idiots, denial is everywhere….

President Trump Delivers Brief Remarks on New House Speaker Mike Johnson

Posted originally on the CTH on October 25, 2023 | Sundance

During a recess from the ridiculous Lawfare drama in New York City today, President Trump delivered brief remarks on Representative Mike Johnson becoming the new Speaker of the House.  Mike Johnson was on President Trump’s impeachment defense team.  WATCH:

.

Mike Johnson is a big upgrade from Kevin McCarthy.  Johnson has a solid and stable disposition, is very grounded toward finding optimal solutions and was /is a strong ally and defender of President Trump and the MAGA movement.  Johnson arrived with the Trump ’16 wave, and he has earned the space to see if he can deliver great outcomes.

When compared to the alternatives, Speaker Johnson is a big step in the right direction.   Matt Gaetz delivered an exceptional outcome, albeit likely with a little  divine luck for the assist.

HUGE WIN – Mike Johnson Becomes Speaker of the House

Posted originally on the CTH on October 25, 2023 | Sundance

Louisiana Republican Mike Johnson won the vote and has become Speaker of the House of Representatives.  This is a huge shift in momentum for the MAGA base, for common sense pragmatic voters, and for the overall direction of our national body politic.

Speaker Johnson delivered a humble, gracious and fantastic speech after the vote.  WATCH:

WASHINGTON DC – The fourth-term Louisianan sailed to victory with 220 votes, more than the 215 he needed to be elected speaker on the House floor. The final vote on the first ballot was 220-209.

Johnson’s win marked a stunning turnaround after more than three weeks of chaotic limbo in the House following the ouster of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy and the demise of three other failed speaker candidates. He did not lose a single GOP vote from lawmakers who were present; Rep. Derrick Van Orden (R-Wis.) is in Israel and did not attend the balloting.

Before his election as speaker, Johnson served as vice chair of the GOP conference — but was seen by hard-line conservatives as somewhat outside the mainstream party leadership mentality that some of them faulted McCarthy for embodying. He was first elected in 2016 after practicing constitutional law for two decades.

“You know, sometimes new is better,” House Rules Committee Chair Tom Cole (R-Okla.) said Wednesday. “I think he starts off with trust. And he starts off with an understanding that he’s going to have to move quickly and we don’t have time for a lot of fun and games here.” (read more)

Representative Mike Johnson Wins Tuesday Night Secret Ballot for GOP House Speaker

Posted originally on the CTH on October 24, 2023 | Sundance

If Mike Johnson (R-LA) cannot carry the conference, look for the professionally Republican Kevin McCarthy wing to reassemble and attempt reinstallation.

WASHINGTON DC – Rep. Mike Johnson won a closed-door contest on Tuesday night to become his party’s fourth speaker nominee.

Now, the Louisiana lawmaker faces the much tougher task of securing the 217 votes he needs to win on the House floor. Earlier Tuesday, Johnson came in second to Majority Whip Tom Emmer, who then withdrew after former President Donald Trump publicly came out against him.

So, Republicans went back to the drawing board, and made Johnson the latest aspirant to a position the fractured and exhausted conference can’t seem to fill. He beat out a field of four other candidates, including Byron Donalds in the final ballot by a 128 to 29 vote. Some 44 other Republicans didn’t vote for either of the two men.

After winning the nomination, Johnson said he was “very confident” that he could get 217 votes and said “the intention is to go to the floor” for a vote on Wednesday. (more)

Prominent Florida State Lawmaker Changes Support from DeSantis to Trump Following Attack on Israel

Posted originally on the CTH on October 24, 2023 | Sundance

State Representative Randy Fine is the only Jewish lawmaker in the Florida legislature and previously endorsed Ron DeSantis for 2024.  However, following the attack on Israel, Representative Fine now withdraws his endorsement and flips to Donald Trump citing the actionable results from Trump foreign policy.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida’s only Jewish Republican state lawmaker is dropping his endorsement of Gov. Ron DeSantis for president, writing in a scathing column that the Republican governor has not done enough to counter antisemitism in their home state.

State Rep. Randy Fine, previously a DeSantis ally, has pushed top priorities of the governor — including co-sponsoring legislation banning gender-affirming care for minors. He had such a good relationship with DeSantis that the governor at one point was backing him as a candidate for the presidency of Florida Atlantic University.

Fine, however, said that in the aftermath of the Hamas attacks on Israel, he is now shifting his support to former President Donald Trump. He touted Trump’s record in office, including his support for moving the United States embassy to Jerusalem and for brokering a peace deal between Israel and two Arab countries.

“The past two weeks have made me realize our choice as Jews is simple,” Fine wrote Monday in The Washington Times. “We can vote for the governor who says all the right things, or we can vote for the president who actually does them. When it comes to action, Donald Trump has never let us down.” (read more)
