ODNI John Ratcliffe made an interesting, frightening & stunningly open direct statement yesterday when he described intelligence evidence that China is putting on a full-court press against governors and local officials to retain their influence campaign in 2020.
Essentially what DNI Ratcliffe described boils down to Beijing threatening economic blackmail against U.S. officials who were comfortable being reliant on local Chinese investment and purchases of U.S. companies, assents and interests.
With that stark statement in mind; and keeping the full national security ramifications in the forefront; it is worth remembering a foreboding speech given by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in February.
This is specifically important now against the backdrop of how some U.S. politicians appear to be reacting to the COVID-19 challenges, perhaps even weaponizing the virus to achieve political objectives; and with a perspective toward the way media outlets, some businesses and many politicians appear to be influenced by China. The background context for this speech takes on an entirely new dimension.
Pompeo’s remarks were made to the National Governors Association (NGA) Feb 8, 2020; and there’s an interesting segment where Pompeo reveals his awareness of a list of U.S. governors compiled by China’s communist party; and their alignment with China’s interests. A transcript of the key excerpt from his speech is provided. WATCH:

[Transcript at 01:45] […] “Last year, I received an invitation to an event that promised to be, quote, “an occasion for exclusive deal-making.” It said, quote, “the opportunities for mutually beneficial economic development between China and our individual states [are] tremendous,” end of quote.”
“Deal-making sounds like it might have come from President Trump, but the invitation was actually from a former governor.
I was being invited to the U.S.-China Governors’ Collaboration Summit.
It was an event co-hosted by the National Governors Association and something called the Chinese People’s Association For Friendship and Foreign Countries. Sounds pretty harmless.
What the invitation did not say is that the group – the group I just mentioned – is the public face of the Chinese Communist Party’s official foreign influence agency, the United Front Work Department.
Now, I was lucky. I was familiar with that organization from my time as the director of the Central Intelligence Agency.
But it got me thinking.
How many of you made the link between that group and Chinese Communist Party officials?
What if you made a new friend while you were at that event?
What if your new friend asked you for introductions to other politically connected and powerful people?
What if your new friend offered to invest big money in your state, perhaps in your pension, in industries sensitive to our national security?
These aren’t hypotheticals. These scenarios are all too true, and they impact American foreign policy significantly.
Indeed, last year, a Chinese Government-backed think tank in Beijing produced a report that assessed all 50 of America’s governors on their attitudes towards China. They labeled each of you “friendly,” “hardline,” or “ambiguous.”
I’ll let you decide where you think you belong. Someone in China already has. Many of you, indeed, in that report are referenced by name.
So here’s the lesson: The lesson is that competition with China is not just a federal issue. It’s why I wanted to be here today, Governor Hogan. It’s happening in your states with consequences for our foreign policy, for the citizens that reside in your states, and indeed, for each of you.
And, in fact, whether you are viewed by the CCP as friendly or hardline, know that it’s working you, know that it’s working the team around you.

At the time of the speech it certainly seemed like Secretary Pompeo and President Trump understood a list of China-friendly governors…. and this was at the very beginning of the COVID influence over the U.S. economy and 2020 election.

When we originally shared the information CTH specifically noted the importance of watching how and when each of these governors responded to their economy when contrast against the COVID-19 narrative.

Antifa leaders state that use violence when fighting for their ideals. Now we have a dilemma. Donald Trump asked Joe Biden be tested for illicit substances before their first debate. Yet many already wonder if he took ‘pep pills’ before his recent speech. While Joe wasn’t sharp, he didn’t make his typical inane mistakes, confusing dates, people, or subjects. Instead, he was steady but out of sync, like an old Ma Bell ringer, dated 40 years, barely functional.

Much like a Category 5 Storm Surge, Joe Biden’s 2020 Presidential Race is an Un-Survivable event. Even if elected, he will end up reciting: “If I’m Chosen, I will not run; If Elected, I will not serve.” Meanwhile, Democrats try to finesse a way where Biden avoids the 3 debates by declaring outrage for some new Trump sin, and therefore sits out in protest.

But somehow Joe avoided that fate. But How?

300 people. There have been allegations that Biden’s speech was prerecorded and masterfully edited. The Democrats insist it was live. There were some journalists who claim to have been present. ABC’s Johnny Verhovek, BuzzFeed’s Ruby Cramer, the Washington Post’s Annie Linskey, the New York Times’ Katie Glueck, the Wall Street Journal’s Ken Thomas, the Daily Beast’s Hanna Trudo, CNN’s Sarah Mucha, the Atlantic’s Edward-Isaac Dovere and CBS’s Bo Erickson.
What is far worse is the sheer hatred that is being unleashed and Pelosi is maintaining this same posture that anyone who voted for Trump is unworthy of their consideration. Biden claims he will bring the country together. They are fanning the very flames that is tearing it apart. But this is what Socrates has been forecasting. The United States is self-destructing and this is typically resolved only in a civil war.
Nancy Pelosi claims that Trump is not worth of debates. He accuses him of having no respect for the Democratic process, but this election is anything but normal, and to refuse to have debates only increases the concerns that Biden is not competent to even debate. Hillary is advising Biden if he loses, do not concede, and turn this into sheer chaos.
While Biden claims Trump is not protecting Americans from a virus with a death rate of 0.000535% (175,000 out of 328 million), not a single democrat has denounced the violence taking place and the sheer hatred pouring out against the opposition. Here mobs are attacking Senator Rand Paul. The LEFT always turns to violence and will NEVER accept any opposition. They demand it is 100% their way and reject the very principles of freedom
Gun sales are off the charts. A friend’s home in Connecticut in a suburb was violated. Their son was home in the basement. He called his parents because he heard people upstairs. The parents called a neighbor rather than the police who went over with his gun and the two people wearing hoodies ran out the back door of the house. They were not in the city.
There is no question that people’s houses with Trump signs or people wearing his hats are starting to be attacked. This is illustrating that there is no going back. Usually, after an election, the loser just moves on. This time, there will be violence for nobody will accept the outcome.

Wisconsin is one of the states in the union with regional pockets of extreme activists and a propensity toward political violence. One has to only reference the violent resistance units that initially confronted Governor Scott Walker to remember what lies below the surface.
That said, the looting, arson and lawlessness in Kenosha did not come as a surprise to those who have a historic reference point. Additionally, the intransigence of Democrat Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, an archaic tool of the politically corrupt, and his unwillingness to restore law and order, is simply an outcome of his politics reflecting the preferred disposition of those who pull his strings.
After an increase in violence last night, which included shootings within the mayhem, the Governor has recognized an extreme downside in allowing lawlessness to continue. After Evers called the White House President Trump is now sending in federal law enforcement:
Governor Evers has also, finally, authorized the Wisconsin national guard to the area where violence, arson and looting is occurring. Unfortunately, this action is too late for those who have lost their lives and seen their businesses destroyed. Notably, national democrats are silent on the consequences from their promotion of anarchy.
MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers today authorized 500 members of the Wisconsin National Guard to support local law enforcement in Kenosha County this evening. The governor is continuing to work with other states in facilitating additional National Guard and state patrol support.
On Monday, at the request of local officials, the governor announced he authorized the Wisconsin National Guard to help protect critical infrastructure and assist in maintaining public safety and the ability of individuals to peacefully protest in Kenosha County. On Tuesday, in addition to declaring a state of emergency, Gov. Evers authorized increasing Wisconsin National Guard support for Kenosha County to 250 members.
Pursuant to Section 321.39(1)(a) of the Wisconsin Statutes, the governor ordered into state active duty members of the Wisconsin National Guard deemed necessary to support to local law enforcement and first responders in Kenosha. Any Guard members called to active duty may only be used to provide support to local law enforcement and to protect critical infrastructure and cultural institutions necessary for the well-being of the community, and to provide support to first responders such as the Kenosha Fire Department.The Wisconsin National Guard may not be used to impede the ability of people to peacefully protest or impede the ability of the media to report on this situation. As previously mentioned, certain pockets within Wisconsin bear a striking similarity to other areas in the nation where political violence is supported by the ideologues in control. Other areas similar to Kenosha and Madison include: Portland, Oregon; Seattle, Washington; Baltimore, Maryland; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Atlanta, GA; Charlottesville, VA; St. Louis, Missouri; Chicago, Illinois; Minneapolis, Minnesota and Austin, Texas.
There is a direct correlation between the number of local and state democrat politicians in office and the outcome of political violence accepted by those same politicians.

As if by magic, Tom Hanks turned a corner, hair full of confetti and COVID-19, proudly holding aloft Prince Tuesday as Joe Biden’s mouth popped open like an over-packed trunk.
