This November’s election ended up being what is called a wave election since it, like the one in 2010, resulted in major changes to the US Congress and the legislatures and governors of the 50 states. Further, exit polls from the November 4, 2014 election showed that up to 74% of those that voted were voting to stop what the Obama administration was doing to the country. How and why this happened will be debated for decades to come.
The story starts in 2008 in another wave election to change the partisan politics that many perceived as destructive and so the voters elected a young black man President of the United States who had little experience but who promised much hope for a more civil national government. They also gave him a supper majority in the Senate of 60 democrats with only 40 Republicans along with 258 Democrat representatives in the House compared to only 177 Republicans. That meant that the Democratic party under the leadership of Barack H. Obama had TOTAL control of the national government; meaning they could do absolutely anything they wanted and there was no way for the Republicans to stop them.
Ignoring the reason for the mandate (working together) Obama and the Democrats told the Republicans that they were ill-relevant and came up with several pieces of legislation that had no or very little Republican input. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (The Stimulus), The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (Obamacare) and The Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 (Dodd-Frank) were rammed though congress with little to no debate and quickly signed into law. Obamacare in particular which was a takeover of the American Health Care industry was very unpopular with the citizens and so in November 2010 the voters gave the House back to the Republicans by throwing out 65 Democrats and reduced the Democrats hold on the Senates by giving the republicans 7 more seats.
These three Acts along with other policies were the culmination of policies which were started in 1965 by President Lyndon Baines Johnson with his Great Society initiative such as; social welfare, secularization of society, multiculturalism, political correctness (PC), illegal immigration, an out of control EPA and unlimited government spending (Keynesian Economics) and turned a large number of Citizens into a movement called the Tea Party in 2009. This block of conservative citizens see the country being transformed into something that they do not want. Further this movement does not want compromise by the Republicans with the Democratic as many, out of touch, Republicans living in DC are being told by their advisors. If that were true the Democratic would not have been voted out of office.
What the voters did in the past election is give the Republicans all they needed to show that they understood what the voters wanted, not what their consultants said they should do, not what the media is telling them what they should do, nor what the campaign contributors are telling them they should do. In effect this is a test on position from the voters as they do know that Obama is the President for two more years and that the Republicans don’t have a 60 vote position in the Senate so they can’t force legislation to the President. What they can do is bring reasonable bills up for a vote in the Senate which will force the Democrats to vote no. Budget related bills only need a majority not 60 votes so they can be passed and the president would have to veto them. And that’s fine even if changes would then have to be made it would show the voters the intent of the Republican policies.
If the Republicans can show the voters that they have the proper vision for the future the voters will give them one last chance in 2016 to do what they, the voters, want; if they don’t the Republicans will be no better than the Progressive Democrats and the US Constitutional Republic will be lost.
To be able to actually make a change that would reverse things would require some constitutional changes which should be part of the Republican message for the next two years so there is no doubt about their intent. Then if the voters agree with the message they would need to do the following. First give the Republicans control of the House with 290 votes (435 * 2/3) control of the Senate with 67 votes (100 * 2/3) and control of 38 states governors and legislatures (50 * 3/4). This might take winning both the 2016 and 2018 elections to get these numbers. This will give them the ability to make constitutional changes under Article V of the US Constitution. It will also allow laws to be made and passed quickly so the damage can be undone before it’s too late. This process will not be without significant pain but it must be done or the result of not doing so will be worse and it would be the responsibility of the new president to properly explain it and sell it to the citizens.
The following are some of my ideas to put the country back on track! The purposes of these changes are to restore the Bill-of-Rights to restore state control of local matters and to place additional limits on concentrated federal power. I do realize that these are major changes and would be very disruptive; however the current direction of the country is one that will lead to economic collapse which will be much worse.
01) Repeal of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (Obamacare)
02) Repeal of the USA PATRIOT Act of 2001
03) Remove from all government departments’ sustainability programs (in any of their forms) being used to implement UN agenda 21.
04) Removal of Sections 1031 and 1032 from the National Defense Authorization Act
05) Removal of all the Muslim Brotherhood and their related organizations from government policy or advisory roles and remove the road blocks they have inserted in policy in any department or agency. The Brotherhood and their related groups support terrorism groups like Hezbollah, Hamas, Al-Qaida and all their sister organizations.
06) Elimination of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) created in 2002
07) Elimination of the EPA
08) Elimination of the Department of Education
09) Elimination of the Department of Health and Human Services
10) Elimination of the Department of Housing and Urban Development
11) Elimination of the IRS
12) Repeal of the 17th Amendment
13) New Amendment to make the Federal Court system including the Supreme Court an elective office rather than by appointments by the President. This makes it a true separate branch not one tied to the whims of the President and Congress. This will help stop the federal courts from making laws not supported by the citizens. The current federal court system has been hijacked by the progressive wing of the Democrat party. Wording will be added to this amendment to not allow any laws or belief structures from other places or groups in the world to be used in the United States courts both civil and criminal the US Constitution is the only legal source of US laws.
14) New Amendment to define citizenship by changing paragraph one of the 14th amendment which was written to give citizenship to the former slaves of the Democratic south after they lost the Civil War. The Citizenship Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution indicates that “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States.” The Supreme Court of the United States ruled in United States v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649 (1898), that the Fourteenth Amendment guarantees citizenship for nearly all individuals born in the country, regardless of their parents’ citizenship or immigration status. Until recently the misuse of the wording was not significant and so a change was not required. The change would be wording to stop “anchor babies,” “passport babies” and “birth tourism” such as the following example.
The first sentence of the 14th Amendment would be replaced with. Children born to Diplomats, visitors or others not in the United States as legal immigrants will not be considered American citizens but will be citizens of their birth parents. Children born to un-naturalized aliens legally residing in the United States may be granted citizenship upon reaching their majority if they have resided in the country since their birth. Any person that enters the country illegally and is later granted amnesty will not be allowed to vote in local state or national elections, even if they are granted all other privileges of citizenship.
15) New Amendment to mandate that a federal balanced budget is achieved by 2024. There are ways to do this that I will post here in the near future.
