As a former army officer with some knowledge of what actually happened in the Bergdahl desertion I can tell you the the situation is very clear and it was desertion. If appropriate measure are not taken it will have a very negative effect of the combat readiness of those that actually are the Boots on the Ground. My fear is that the present General and Flag Grade officers are compromised and are no longer capable of properly doing their jobs. Duty honor Country does not allow one to do what one knows to be wrong — just to save their job.

I don’t understand why the Obama Administration would delay the release of the report. It’s not as if we don’t already KNOW he deserted, his fellow soldiers have revealed what happened. And the deal Obama made to release those terrorist from Gitmo has already outraged everybody. The animals have escaped, it’s too late to close that barn door.

A delay can only mean that there will be either little or no punishment. That kind of ruling will not go well with some voters (that are not knowledgeable of the true situation) that might vote for democratic candidates; so since there are going to be close elections for Representatives and Senators they will wait till after the election.
