Not that they care or anything, but here it is. Take a chance to learn something.
An “automatic” firearm is one capable of continuous fire (as long as one holds down the trigger). We used to call these “machine guns”… and no, Don Lemon cannot simply walk into a gun shop and buy one.
A “semi-automatic” is a firearm that fires one bullet each time you pull the trigger (most handguns are semi-automatic). Don Lemon can walk into a gun shop and buy one of these, provided he meets certain requirements (dependent upon the State in which the shop is located, and the State in which he resides).
