The Trade Battlefield Has Been Prepped – Now We Fight…

Within the dynamic of the U.S -vs- China trade confrontation, CTH has long noted the Wall Street (globalist) multinationals would always go bananas.  There are trillions at stake and President Trump is confronting three decades of financial influence from Wall Street’s multinational corporate lobbyists.

To the angst of Wall Street, POTUS Trump tweets the dynamic.

President Trump will not back down from his position; the U.S. holds all of the leverage and the issue must be addressed.  President Trump has waited three decades for this moment.  Main Street U.S.A has waited for this moment.  This President and his team are entirely prepared for this battle…. Now we fight!

We are finally confronting the geopolitical Red Dragon, China!

President Trump has been brutally consistent for more than three decades on his intent and purpose with the Chinese.  President Trump is the first U.S. President to understand how the red dragon hides nefarious motives behind the panda mask.

Additionally, while carrying out the objectives of the confrontation, Secretary Mnuchin, Secretary Ross, Ambassador Lighthizer and adviser Peter Navarro are well aware of Beijing’s duplicitous panda mask; POTUS Trump will never let them forget about it.

The Eagle and the Arrow – An Aesop’s Fable

…An Eagle was soaring through the air. Suddenly it heard the whizz of an Arrow, and felt the dart pierce its breast. Slowly it fluttered down to earth. Its lifeblood pouring out. Looking at the Arrow with which it had been shot, the Eagle realized that the deadly shaft had been feathered with one of its own plumes.

Moral: We often give our enemies the means for our own destruction.

Some call it ‘Globalism vs Nationalism’, at other times it is best described as “Wall Street -vs- Main Street”; however, the overarching bigger picture is a battle over economics and the international financial power structures that oppose President Trump.

CTH has often said ‘everything is about the economics’, because it is. Ask the ‘why’ question five times to any issue and you will find the root issue is money.  Power, greed and control, it is all about the money and the economics.

Opposition to President Trump’s singularly unique and transformational reset of the global trade system boils down to a battle against the financial ‘Big Club’.

Multinationals, billionaires and lobbyists within the DC UniParty system spend hundreds-of-millions in opposition to President Trump’s MAGA agenda. That agenda, that economic agenda, is the existential threat to the Big Club’s grip on power.

In the ‘globalist’ multinational, Wall Street dynamic, the Big Club DNC donor base and the Big Club RNC donor base also have mutual self interests. Within this dynamic, President Trump is their unified opposition.

Everything is about the economics.

The Big Club opposition to President Trump is based on financial best-interest. That opposition is not bound to a political party ideology. It is an ideology based on economics. In essence, this is a structural economic battle that is being waged politically.

Decades of financial and monetary policy were intentionally structured to the benefit of the BIG CLUB and the multinational Wall Street alliance represented by U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Tom Donohue. This is not a Republican -vs- Democrat issue; this is a larger confrontation between those who hold financial power and a singular person, President Donald Trump, who is determined to remove that grip.

President Trump is fracturing the multinational corporate ‘controlled market’, and his trade policies are beginning to reconstitute supply and demand pricing in a nationalist market.

Yes, President Trump, the man and his policy team, is an existential threat to the elitist hierarchy of things well beyond the borders of the DC Swamp. In the era of explaining the complex it’s a planetary economic reset almost too massive and consequential to encapsulate in words.

There are massive international corporate and financial interests who are inherently at risk from President Trump’s “America-First” economic and trade platform. Believe it or not, President Trump is up against an entire world economic establishment.

He will win.

We chose him.

CNN Hires FBI Architect of ‘Soft Coup’, Identified Leaker and IG Defined Liar, as Contributor…

After railing against Fox News for hiring former Trump White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, CNN announced a corporate decision to hire former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe as a contributor.  McCabe becomes the tenth FBI and/or CIA official hired by CNN.

McCabe was fired from the FBI for lying to investigators. [IG report on McCabe]

McCabe was also identified as the primary architect of the corrupt DOJ/FBI effort to impeach/remove President Trump.  No doubt CNN and McCabe will use this platform as a way to defend the corrupt Obama DOJ and FBI officials from any damaging releases within the pending Inspector General report on FISA abuse.

President Trump Warns U.S. Multinationals to Exit China…

Well, they cannot later claim they were not warned.  In a series of stunning tweets today, President Trump directly tells U.S. companies manufacturing goods in China, they need to make rapid plans for exit.

Peter Navarro Discusses China Tariffs, Fed Action, and Wall Street Response…

Earlier today China’s commerce ministry said it will impose additional tariffs on thousands of U.S. products, including agricultural products, crude oil, small aircraft and cars. Tariffs on some products would take effect on Sept. 1 and others on Dec. 15.

The Wall Street multinationals are exposed to significant losses because of their investments in China.  White House trade and manufacturing policy advisor Peter Navarro appeared on Fox Business with Maria Bartiromo to discuss the dynamic.

The Shift in Small Donations to Trump

There is a major shift taking place within the Republican party that has some people on the Hill taking notice. Traditionally, the Republicans have had the image that they are the party of the rich and corporations, despite the fact that the bankers would not donate to Trump in 2016 and it all went to Hillary.

The donation patterns have completely changed and flipped upside-down with President Trump. Analysis of campaign finance data which has been released shows that over 60% of all the money raised has come directly from small donors of $200 or less, according to Federal Election Commission figures.

This demonstrates that despite all his tweets and the media bashing, there is a rising trend of voters who support Trump simply because he is not one of the career jockeys. The Democrats appear ready to put Joe Biden out front, although he has been gathering only 24% of the votes so far in the polls on debates.

Bernie and Warren are just too far out there for middle America, regardless of being Democrat or Republican. Thus far, it still appears that Trump will win the 2020 election which may be a very good thing since we are facing the Monetary Crisis Cycle in 2021/2022 where we will most likely be in a position where negotiations on the restructuring of the system will be a critical issue. The last thing we need is a career politician from either party to reset the world monetary system. Look at what career politicians have done in setting up the Eurozone — the elimination of Democracy.

God Bless The Diplomatic Restraint of Secretary Pompeo – Joint Presser With Sanctimonious Freeland…

God bless Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for having the diplomatic restraint to stand next to the absolute worst diplomat on the planet and retaining his cool.  Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland stands atop her proverbial high-horse and pontificates a diatribe that only a smug leftist can deliver.

If you are familiar with world events,… and you don’t want a blood pressure cuff to explode,… then don’t watch this joint press conference. [Transcript likely later today]  If you’ve ever watched two diplomats pretend to have any commonality, while simultaneously jabbing each-other in the eye, this is an audio-visual exhibition:

.

To say the Trump administration and Trudeau administration are ideologically oil and water would be the understatement of the year. The U.S. and Canadian, political, cultural, geopolitical and economic outlooks are entirely divergent.

That reality is one of the reasons why an open U.S. Ambassador to Canada position is unlikely to be filled.  Seriously, who wants to talk to these smug and condescending jerks?

The Canadian ambassador to the U.S. also recently resigned. There is just no point to it. Everything is pretend now; and neither country is very good at pretending. Under Trudeau Canadian political policy, and the downstream issues therein, just sucks.

Both nations pretending to the international community it’s just a trial separation; but the whole neighborhood knows it’s a divorce.

♦Within the press conference Minister Freeland starts by using the worn-out and tired talking points about how the U.S. and Canadian military have worked together, fought together and died together… blah, blah, blah.  It’s the same narrative positioning used by Trudeau/Freeland every time they clutch their parasitic pearls and demand equivocal status -in all things- from the U.S.

Minister Freeland literally stands atop her podium and spouts about the importance of NORAD and the U.S-Canadian military alliance within NATO… While simultaneously Canada doesn’t even live up to their NATO funding obligations:

Canada hides behind the skirt of the U.S. to inflate its self-importance, and yet it won’t even live up to its financial obligations.  Hubris thy name is !

Also keep in mind, Canada is in the G7 for no apparent reason other than the historic connection to the U.S. has allowed them presence on the world stage.

Why isn’t Brazil in the G7?

The Canadian economy is far below all other G7 members; they only exist in the G7 group because of their relationship to the U.S.

Fortunately and rightly, Secretary Pompeo jabbed Freeland and Trudeau over their lack of  NATO funding during part of his presser remarks.

Additionally, remember the big stink Trudeau and Freeland made about the Section 232 steel/aluminum tariffs President Trump put on Canada?  Well, Freeland was pontificating about that again today, only to her surprise a Canadian journalist caught her off-guard.

In the Q&A portion of the presser Minister Freeland was specifically asked about why Canada continues to allow Chinese Steel to be dumped into Canada, and how the Canadian Steelworkers were impacted by this never-stopped (despite promises) process.  The issue surrounds the Canadian LNG pipeline and export hub (port).   Trudeau and Freeland are allowing super-cheap (dumped) Chinese Steel for the project.

You think she would answer the question about her hypocrisy?  Oh, hell no… she spins a yarn about how LNG is so much better to save the planet; and never addresses the issue of the Canadian government allowing China to dump steel in Canada, which was the entire purpose of President Trump putting 232 tariffs on them in the first place.

Hopefully Canadians can get rid of this insufferable duo in their October elections.

It would be so much easier to like Canadians again if they could just get rid of these condescending leftist nuts that have taken over their government.

I digress.

Kudo’s to Secretary Pompeo for his restraint…. It was quite obvious during several moments that Pompeo was actively using that thumb tack he put in his shoe before the presser. (guessing)

U.S. Jobless Claims Drop “Unexpectedly”, a Sign of Continued Labor Market Strength…

According to the U.S. Department of Labor [data here] companies hiring American workers are not complying with the media “recession” narrative.   Yes, another day, and yet another data point reflecting the “unexpected” & continued strength of Main Street.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The number of Americans filing applications for unemployment benefits fell sharply last week, suggesting the labor market was holding firm despite a manufacturing slowdown and concerns the economy is on a path toward recession.

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits dropped 12,000 to a seasonally adjusted 209,000 for the week ended Aug. 17, the Labor Department said on Thursday.

The decline was sharper than expected. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast claims would drop to 216,000 in the latest week.

[…]  The four-week average for new unemployment benefits claims was lower than the corresponding week in July, a positive signal for employment during the month.

There are few signs a bitter trade war between the United States and China was spilling over to the national labor market, although growth in manufacturing jobs has slowed this year. (read more)

Most democrats, like most Wall Street media pundits, know absolutely nothing about how a free and independent U.S. Main Street economy works.

Seriously.  I’m not kidding.

CTH has been saying since Trump’s announcement in 2015 there’s almost two generations of people who have no concept of an independent U.S. economy; and all of the subsequent ramifications therein.

Now we are seeing an odd benefit to their lack of knowledge.  If the politicians don’t know how Main Street works, specifically during the reversal period where policy operates in the space between Wall Street and Main Street, then they can’t find a tool to ruin it.

The Fed is disconnected.

PS. With the continued devaluation, subsidy maneuvers and continued efforts at transnational shipping from China, it might be a good recommendation for President Trump to raise the initial steel tariffs from 25% to 35-40% range.

DOE Issues Statement on Energy Star Thermostat Report….

The needle on the CTH winnamometer momentarily pegs ‘too much‘…

[Backstory Here] After quite widespread discussion on the Energy Star Thermostat Report, and the ridiculous recommendations to set thermostat to 82° when sleeping, the U.S. Department of Energy (Secretary Rick Perry) issued the following statement:

…”It is the position of DOE that Americans should set their thermostats to whatever temperature they choose.”..  (link)

White House Press Pool Doesn’t Like Chopper Pressers – ‘He’s Melting Us, Halp’…

We are approaching the never-before-reached strata of “too much winning”.

Today President Trump held the third press conference over thirty minutes in the past four days.  Sunday a chopper presser on the tarmac in New Jersey (36 minutes).  Tuesday a presser in the Oval Office (32 minutes).  Today a South Lawn chopper presser (35 minutes).  No questions filtered; direct responses from President Trump; all questions answered…. and the media can’t take it.

(Jenn Jacobs Tweet Link)

I’m absolutely not snarking at Jenn Jacobs, she’s actually one of the few that keeps her reporting generally between the lines… But the overall tone of press pool response to this level of POTUS availability is hilarious.  ‘Halp, he’s melting us‘.

TheLastRefuge@TheLastRefuge2

😂 Media peeps complaining: ‘he talks to long’,… ‘he answers too many questions’… ‘it’s hot here’…. ‘he’s melting us’… Halp!
