Too many African Americans or Blacks or persons of color have been given a pass on bad behavior by society and their parents. Being old enough to have lived through the 50s, 60s and 70s I can tell you that the change in society was very very real and not for the good. My wife’s mom at 97 can still tell stories about living in a mixed neighborhood in Cleveland with blacks and there were no problems until blacks from the South started to move north to get away form the Clan (which were all Democrats by the way). Things were not perfect but you didn’t need to have bars on your windows.

But the worse was what President Johnson did in 1965 with his Great Society imitative (which at the time seemed good) but which destroyed the black family structure for so many. With no “real” family back boys turned into bad men except some that were smart or those that went in the service and got some discipline. I was a boy that got in some trouble and I was appropriately physically disciplined by my dad and rightly so. But dispite the efforts of my family it wasn’t until the army that I learned that being a man was not being a thug like MB. Young boys need discipline and that means a whipping on occasion!

If the majority of the Blacks ever want to become part of the American culture their ministers better put the fear of God back into the boys and the fathers better take ownership of their offspring. But Listen to Michael Nutter – Mayor of Philadelphia Church Speech Sunday August 7, 2011 not me he has it right. Make sure to listen to the end its one of the best parts!

Closing note — To many whites have also fallen into this no discipline trap (sorry ladies and moms black and white boys need hard discipline period the end) So this speech of Major Nutter applies to them as well.
