I have a strong feeling that this is exactly what will happen, but I pray that it will not happen. But I have told all my friends that if this happens I will never vote republican again, and I am not alone in this feeling!

West Africa’s Ebola Death Toll Continues to Climb: WHO

The Ebola death toll in the three West African countries most impacted by the virus has climbed to at least 7,373 of 19,031 known infections, the World Health Organization revealed in data released Saturday.
Western Sierra Leone is the “hotspot” of the ongoing outbreak, according to the WHO, which notes that this country has the highest infection rate, followed by Liberia and then Guinea.
However, Liberia accounts for far more Ebola deaths, leading some to question the accuracy of the WHO’s statistics on infection rates.
Nonetheless, the data shows an increase in overall cases, which are up by 500 since WHO data was last released on December 17.
The numbers were released following news Friday that Sierra Leone’s top-ranking doctor had succumbed to Ebola, making him the 11th of the country’s 120 doctors to die from the disease, according to the Guardian.
Meanwhile, humanitarian aid workers have criticized the global community for its failure to respond adequately as West African governments and grassroots initiatives such as the Citizens Alliance to Stop Ebola in Liberia struggle to stem the ongoing emergency.
“The international response to the Ebola crisis in West Africa has been slow and uneven leaving local people, national governments and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to do most of the practical, hands-on work,” the NGO Doctors Without Borders//Médecins Sans Frontières declared earlier this month.
The lackluster global response comes despite the fact that Western-driven economic policies played a key role in gutting West African public health systems.
“People are still dying horrible deaths in an outbreak that has already killed thousands,” said Dr. Joanne Liu, MSF international president. “We can’t let our guard down and allow this to become double failure, a response that was slow to begin with and is ill-adapted in the end.”

Why Don’t We Study Gun Violence the Way We Study Car Accidents?
In the lasted CDC report which is for 2011 2,615.458 people died in the United States; of those all but 190,038 were for medical reasons. Of the 190,038 86,415 were from non vehicle accidents, 39,518 were from suicide, 38,023 were from transportation (mostly cars), 11,068 were from homicides (guns), 5,170 were homicides by other means, leaving 7,854 from various other reasons. Of the other category only 492 deaths were for legal reasons means by the police. Of that amount 133 were black and 337 were white, 22 were other.
Of non medical deaths 20.8% were suicide 18.6% from Motor vehicle 5.8% were homicides so we can see that guns are not a major factor and even if there were no guns the number of deaths would not change much and in fact could go up since criminals would now that there were no armed citizens and they would still have guns!
Ah, yes, a conversation sparked by Vivek Murthy being confirmed. Now, suddenly, gun violence is a health care issue instead of a crime issue or a people issue. Because everyone knows guns make people do bad things. If there were no guns, there would suddenly be no crime or unnatural causes of death. Utopia, I tell you! And, of course, there haven’t been any studies about gun violence. They don’t count if they don’t support the “progressive” extremist point of view. There have been lots of studies, they can be found via a Google search if they haven’t been talked about here.

More on lying for justice
This is absolute true and is the core of all our problems today. Personally I feel we are past the point of no return (to sanity) modern technology makes the lies easier to promote but I can hope that I am wrong!
In the science world lying for justice or lying for a liberal agenda or a government agenda is enshrined as proper conduct, since ends justify means, and also advantageous, since the government has the research funds, the lefty NGOs are flush with limousine liberal cash.

Howard Safir: Anti-Police Rhetoric Unlike Anything I’ve Seen in 45 Years

Michael Brown and Eric Garner died resisting arrest. Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu died doing their job. It is a very important distinction. Michael Brown and Eric Garner were committing crimes. Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were protecting all the citizens of New York City.
The national dialogue on proper and effective policing has been totally distorted. Activists purporting to represent the majority of the black community have been bolstered by a 24 hour news cycle that gives them unwarranted credibility. I do not believe for one minute that Al Sharpton represents the feelings of most hardworking, law abiding black American families. I know through dozens of community meetings during my time as NYC Police Commissioner that what the black community wants most is what we all want—a safe environment in which to live their lives.
There are 18,000 police departments in the United States. They interact millions of times with the public, and make hundreds of thousands of arrests. Very few result in a suspect’s death or injury. We do not have police forces out of control as the media and the Sharptons of the world would have us believe. Does that mean that there are not serious incidents of police abuse or misjudgment? Of course there are. When they take place we should investigate them thoroughly and prosecute and punish those who committed the wrong doing. We should not burn down buildings and murder police officers.
When Ismaaiyl Abdulah Brinsley brutally executed Officers Ramos and Liu he did so in an atmosphere of permissiveness and anti-police rhetoric unlike any that I have seen in 45 years in law enforcement. The rhetoric this time is not from the usual suspects, but from the Mayor of New York City, the Attorney General of the United States, and even the President. It emboldens criminals and sends a message that every encounter a black person has with a police officer is one to be feared. Nothing could be further from the truth. We will never know what was in the mind of Brinsley when he shot officers Ramos and Liu. However we do know that he has seen nothing but police bashing from some of the highest officials in the land.
We should all be concerned about the reaction our police officers will have. I have seen times when police bashing has resulted in officers doing the minimum necessary to complete their tours and go home safely to their families.
Those were the times when murders in New York were over 2,000, cars had “No Radio” signs in surrender to rampant auto theft, and gangs controlled the streets. I know this can happen again in spite of the sacrifice of hundreds of police officers who have given their lives while reducing violent crime across this country to historic lows.
I have given the eulogy at the funerals of too many police officers, most killed in the line of duty defending our citizens during the commission of a crime. When our officers go in harm’s way they need to know that they have the support of their leaders at all levels of government. The President should declare a national day of Support for Police. He should send a clear message to all criminals that he appreciates the willingness of officers like Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu to sacrifice their lives, and that their lives have meaning. Perhaps their families should be present at the next State of the Union.
