Western Financial System to Mexico: Nice Peso You Got There, it’d be a Shame if Something Happened to It

As we’ve been saying for seven months, keep watching how the globalists respond to Mexico. AMLO doesn’t want to join the economic suicide pact known as Build Back Better, or the North American version “Green New Deal.” This puts him in a precarious place.

This sentence from a recent financial analysis article in Reuters is telling, “concerns about a U.S. recession and a trade spat Mexico is embroiled in with the United States and Canada over Lopez Obrador’s energy policy, which critics call nationalist, muddy the outlook for the peso.” A “nationalist energy policy”?

What exactly is a “nationalist energy policy,” and why would international financial people be having fits about it?

In the past year the Mexican peso has outperformed the U.S. dollar, in part because Mexico is not following the economic roadmap, a World Economic Forum inspired united inflationary malaise as an outcome of unified energy policy. [Side Note: The Brazilian currency was also outperforming the western bloc and dollar; but that situation has been rectified now, Bolsonaro removed, and the central bank will start contracting the economy.]

The global financial control mechanisms now start to look at the Mexican non-compliance:

(Reuters) – Mexico’s peso, which is ending 2022 with one of its strongest performances in a decade, could have its gains wiped out in 2023 after an expected end to the Bank of Mexico’s rate hikes cycle and a possible recession in top trade partner the United States.

The peso last month clawed its way back to pre-pandemic levels and has appreciated over 5% versus the U.S. dollar in 2022, making it one of the best-performing global currencies alongside Brazil’s real.

But the peso’s impressive run may be ending as markets expect the large capital flows to Mexico in recent months, attracted by the Bank of Mexico’s restrictive monetary policy stance, could soon start to slow.

[…] Banxico, as the central bank is known, has been increasing its benchmark interest rate since June 2021 to stem inflation, and hiked it to a record 10.5% at its last policy meeting.

In the coming months, Banxico is expected to end its rate hiking cycle and likely decouple from the U.S. Federal Reserve, which is seen continuing to increase rates. That would narrow the rate differential and could spark an outflow of capital.

Concerns about a U.S. recession and a trade spat Mexico is embroiled in with the United States and Canada over Lopez Obrador’s energy policy, which critics call nationalist, muddy the outlook for the peso.

“The perception of risk could rise due to the consultations in the framework of the USMCA (trade deal), which could lead to the imposition of measures against Mexico,” said Banco Base.

Traders at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, considered a bellwether of market sentiment, have started to bet the peso will begin depreciating. (read more)

There is no upper limit to the amount of pressure the Western Alliance will put upon Mexico.

Watch Closely – Mexico Releases Agenda for North American Leadership Summit, January 10th Mexico City

In the background of international geopolitics and all things economically attached, the larger climate change agenda, the Build Back Better program, has been unfolding.

Energy driven inflation has destabilized most western economies as the various governments (politicians) and central banks (bureaucrats) work together on behalf of the corporations (World Economic Forum). All of these interests can only advance if they work together. If any individual nation breaks from the group energy agenda, their economy will thrive beyond the limits created by the BBB operation and the association of western nations.

It is with this context at the forefront where we have said to watch Mexico closely. In North America, Mexico has the least to gain from economics behind the climate change agenda. Conversely, if Mexico were to go rogue, they would gain the most. This dynamic puts Mexico in a more powerful position than most realize.

During a July 2022, meeting at the White House, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez-Obrador (AMLO) appeared to indicate -for the first time- his understanding of his new position as the ‘Green New Deal’ (climate change) energy agenda was being deployed by the U.S. and Canada. AMLO read from a prepared script in the oval office during a public bilateral meeting with Joe Biden. AMLO’s remarks were quite remarkable in their independence.

“In our country, we shall continue producing oil throughout the energy transition. With the U.S. investors, we are going to be establishing gas-liquefying plants, fertilizer plants, AMLO said, striking a chord that is not in alignment with Joe Biden and Justin Trudeau. AMLO continued, “and we’re going to accomplish this with the support of thermal electric plants and also through transmission lines to produce energy in the domestic market, as well as for exports, to neighboring states in the American union, as for instance, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California.” It’s not just what he said, it’s how AMLO said it.

Keep in mind, the month before that July visit to the White House, AMLO boycotted Joe Biden’s Latin-America Summit. AMLO joined the leaders of Bolivia, Guatemala, Honduras and the tiny Caribbean state of St. Vincent in refusing to attend the Biden summit because Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua were blocked from attending by the Biden administration.

Socially and ideologically AMLO is a soft-socialist (immigration). However, he is also a strong economic nationalist who has previously expressed a dislike for the influence of multinational corporations in Mexico. As an outcome of his worldview, AMLO is not in alignment with the World Economic Forum. This is why we have said to watch Mexico in 2023; the dynamic will be very interesting.

Joe Biden and Justin Trudeau are in alignment with a North American approach toward energy, AMLO is the outlier. The people behind Biden and Trudeau also appear to want a North American Union established, essentially a nationless and borderless North America. On that aspect AMLO may be in agreement. However, watch for the key word “equity” in these discussions. Mexico is the poorest house on the block and if Canada and the United States want to create a unified North America, AMLO will want the Mexican people to be the biggest economic beneficiaries.

MEXICO – At today’s morning press conference headed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Foreign Secretary Marcelo Ebrard presented the agenda for the tenth North American Leaders’ Summit (NALS) and its related meetings. The Summit will be held on January 10 in Mexico City.

The Foreign Secretary said that bilateral meetings will be held during the Summit. “The bilateral meeting between Mexico and the United States will include […] a wide range of actions focused on bilateral trade and investment, and on speeding up the border infrastructure projects.”

“Bilateral cooperation issues will be addressed, such as migration […] labor mobility, trade, security, education, culture, combating climate change… Labor mobility has already been added to the dialogue, the narrative, and the concept of the relationship between Mexico and United States. This did not exist [previously]; this is very recent […] Both the agreement we reached with Secretary Kerry, which was announced in Egypt […] on clean energy, […] and the Sonora Plan will be presented. The goal is for this dialogue to strengthen the integration of regional supply chains and the transition towards electromobility and clean energy.”

The Secretary said that, in the National Palace, the Summit tentatively includes “a private segment between the three leaders, that is, a conversation between the three of them, and then we will have an extended meeting with the delegations of each of the three countries.”

He mentioned the six main topics that will be addressed at the summit: diversity, equity and inclusion; the environment; competitiveness with the rest of the world; migration and development; health; and shared security.

“The three nations will seek to continue the process of regional integration, based on the principles of respect, sovereignty and good faith cooperation for mutual benefit; that is the goal,” he said.

The Foreign Secretary also announced that there will be a bilateral meeting between Mexico and Canada between President López Obrador and Prime Minister Trudeau. “They are going to talk about both governments’ strategy for indigenous peoples and historically marginalized communities. This is a topic that both Minister Trudeau and President López Obrador have promoted. There is a lot of international interest in this, in what has been done with the Yaquis and with other indigenous peoples of Mexico.”

The Foreign Secretary said that, at the Summit, “One of Mexico’s most important priorities relates to the actions that must be taken in 2023-2024 to reduce the poverty and inequality that are growing in the Americas […] this is the most important priority from the Mexican perspective.”

“We are going to propose a Partnership for the Prosperity of the Peoples of the Americas […], this is what President López Obrador discussed with former Senator Dodd on his recent visit, and the Canadians have also been consulted,” he said, adding, “The main goal (of the partnership) will be to fight poverty and achieve a more equal distribution of resources in the Americas based on strengthening the trade relations and relations of all kinds on the continent […] so that North America remains a leading economic power at a global level, which would make it possible to establish new ties with the rest of the continent, based on mutual respect,” he concluded. President Lopez-Obrador has all the power in this dynamic right now.

AMLO is using the western energy transition to keep himself in a position of economic strength. In order to pull AMLO into the western climate change energy program, Biden and Trudeau will have to bribe him with major economic incentives; essentially, promises and economic outcomes to close the wealth gap.

If Mexico goes rogue, their economy can skyrocket. However, if Mexico goes rogue, the people behind Biden will destroy AMLO (Brazil exists as a reminder to him).

The U.S. and Canada are going to push every possible political pressure point in order to force Mexico to change energy policy. The stakes are high. It is going to be remarkable to watch what happens as this battle takes place.

Watch Closely – U.S. Intel Begins Positioning Mexican President AMLO as Enemy of North America

It’s subtle like a brick through a window when you have the bigger picture in mind.

Joe Biden and Canada’s Justin Trudeau are in ideological alignment, willing to destroy the entire North American economy as they construct the new climate change energy systems for the U.S and Canada. However, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez-Obrador (AMLO) has already indicated -including direct statements to Joe Biden at the White House– that he is not willing to put the Mexican economy into collapse and try to engineer an economic future on solar panels and windmills.

That puts Mexican President AMLO in the crosshairs of a unified climate change agenda as outlined by the World Economic Forum and western leadership under the guise of the Build Back Better agenda. In essence, AMLO goes from socialist hero of the unionized left to becoming a target. CTH has been saying we need to watch carefully how this plays out because a great deal of the western economic agenda hangs in the balance.

Now that AMLO has taken a pragmatic position on energy development {Go Deep} his lack of alignment means the apparatus of the United States government, the proverbial Eye of Sauron, will target him. Not coincidentally, the public relations firm for the deepest part of the interventionist intelligence apparatus, the Washington Post, now outlines AMLO as the specific person responsible for the explosion in fentanyl use.

(Washington Post) – […] A new Mexican leader rejected the $3 billion anti-narcotics agreement that had spanned three U.S. presidencies, known as the Mérida Initiative. Andrés Manuel López Obrador, a veteran leftist who took office in December 2018, argued that the drug war strategy had sent homicides spiraling in Mexico while failing to curb U.S. demand.

The sniffer flights stopped. Águila was sidelined and his battle-hardened commandos were reassigned. López Obrador rebuffed U.S. offers for new drug-detection technology. Mexico shut down a pivotal base where the special forces had worked with U.S. agents. It even took away the parking spot for the DEA’s plane at an airport outside Mexico City. (read more)

The Washington Post defining ALMO as “a veteran leftist” as if that is against their interests is rather funny. The article walks through AMLO, a devout Mexican nationalist, trying to remove the influence of the U.S. government, and by extension contributing to the explosion of cross-border drug trafficking.

To accept the ‘AMLO is the cause of U.S. drug deaths’ narrative is to ignore the Biden administration effort to weaken the Southern U.S. border, but that’s a mere detail when you are constructing a narrative that has deeper intentions than appear on the surface. The bigger picture is shaping a narrative intended to create AMLO as an enemy of the American people.

Nice country you got there AMLO, it’d be a shame if something happened to it… Now, about that oil, coal and natural gas use…

Without a doubt this narrative building will escalate, step by step until pressure mounts and AMLO acquiesces to join the economic model demanded by the WEF as executed by the United States through Biden energy policy. There are trillions at stake and multinational corporate laundry operations to maintain.

Just keep watching… look for how the Biden administration specifically messages toward and around Mexico.

I’m fairly confident we are going to hear a lot more about Mexico very soon.

As noted two months ago….

The ideologues in the Biden administration will not accept Mexico continuing to exploit cheap natural energy products like oil, coal and gas. As the USA and Canada punish citizens with inflation and massive economic consequences from Green New Deal energy policy, they cannot allow Mexico to be a source of stable low-priced goods and services. Amid other economic outcomes, the next-door neighbor contrast would be too politically damaging.

We can expect the Biden administration to work with Wall Street corporations on a level of economic targeting of Mexico similar to the western alliance sanctions against Russia. It will be extremely interesting to see just how strong AMLO can be in the face of serious threats from the USA and Canada.

I’m not talking about little threats, or ordinary economic pressure points; watch closely how the U.S threats are established. The ideologues around Joe Biden will seek to destroy AMLO if he does not go along with the energy change effort.

Watch this closely. The leftist hypocrisies are going to be off the charts as they target the Mexicans for punishment. (source)

Massive Unrest in Mexico

As our models indicated, November would be a time of great civil unrest throughout the world. The latest incident occurred in Mexico where at least 200,000 people took to the streets to protest President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador’s (AMLO) proposal to reform the electoral body and Congress. The photo above was taken at Mexico City and shows only a fraction of the protestors.

The National Electoral Institute (INE) that organizes Mexico’s elections is in jeopardy. AMLO accused the INE of fraud back in 2006 and 2012 during his failed elections. He would now like to reduce Congress from 500 to 300 people and slash the Senate from 128 to 96. People are accusing Lopez Obrador of attempting to turn Mexico into a socialistic state like Cuba or Venezuela.

This is the same president who is backed by Mexico’s dangerous cartels. He visited “El Chapo’s” mother for her birthday and publicly greeted her. A politician would not enter Sinaloa territory without protection.

The opposition party would need to support AMLO’s measure for it to pass into law. People were warned that this man would never relinquish power after he was elected in 2018. Yet, the Western media praised him as the Mexican Bernie Sanders who was a simple man of the people. The proud Mexican people do not want to lose their freedom. They are standing up for their country and demanding reform.
