Arizona Judge Orders Kari Lake to Pay $33,000 in Witness Fees but No Legal Sanctions

Arizona Judge Peter Thompson has ruled that Mrs. Kari Lake must pay witness costs associated with her civil election lawsuit against Maricopa County officials.  However, the judge denied hundreds-of-thousands in defense lawyer fees for Marc Elias and did not issue financial sanctions against Lake.

PHOENIX — A judge has ordered Kari Lake, the Republican who lost the Arizona governor’s race, to pay $33,000 in fees for witnesses who helped defend election officials against Lake’s failed challenge of her defeat to Democrat Katie Hobbs, but rejected a request for hundreds of thousands of dollars in fees for the attorneys who defended the officials.

In an order Tuesday, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson declined to impose sanctions against Lake and her lawyers, saying Lake’s failure to prove her case doesn’t “equate to a finding that her claims were, or were not, groundless and presented in bad faith.”

Thompson, who was appointed by former Republican Gov. Jan Brewer, pointed to a statistical analysis by a pollster who had testified on behalf of Lake. The witness, who conducts public-opinion polls and is not an election worker, claimed technical problems at polling places on Election Day had disenfranchised enough voters that it would have changed the outcome of the race in Lake’s favor. Supreme Court Blocks Biden Administration Effort to Lift Title 42 Alien Expulsions, One Month After Biden Administration Extended National COVID Emergency

The U.S. Supreme Court has blocked the Biden administration from lifting Title 42, which allowed Customs and Border Patrol to expel cross border migrants due to the COVID-19 emergency. [Background of Case Here]

In a 5-4 decision with Justice Gorsuch joining the liberal members, the Supreme Court ruled that Title-42 should remain in effect.  It wasn’t really a surprising decision if you think about the Biden administration hypocrisy.

On one hand the Biden administration extended the national COVID-19 emergency through April of 2023.

On the other hand, the same Biden administration was saying there was no COVID-19 emergency as the foundation for their effort to remove Title 42.

The Supreme Court seemed to recognize the inherent contradiction and applied a non-pretending logic.  If the national health emergency exists, then Title 42 still applies.  It’s really just a simple affirmation of Biden policy.  [Ruling Here]

WASHINGTON – In a blow to the Biden administration’s ability to set the nation’s immigration policy, the Supreme Court on Tuesday said the government could not halt the expulsion of migrants for public health reasons under the controversial Title 42 program.

That program, which has been in place since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, must continue while courts assess a lawsuit filed by Republican officials in 19 states who say that unwinding the Title 42 policy would unleash a national “catastrophe.”

The emergency intervention from the high court came days after the Trump-era program was set to expire. The justices announced they will hear arguments about the program next year, but limited their review to whether the conservative states may intervene in the litigation. Oral arguments are expected in February. In the meantime, expulsions will continue.

Associate Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan would have denied the emergency request from the states and allowed the administration to lift the Title 42 policy. Associate Justices Neil Gorsuch and Ketanji Brown Jackson dissented from the court’s ruling Tuesday.

While the decision was a legal loss for President Joe Biden, the political implications were less clear: The administration’s effort to lift Title 42 has drawn sharp criticism from Republicans and uncertainty from some Democrats who fear border communities were not prepared for an influx of migrants. The Supreme Court’s decision appeared to defuse that situation for now, even as it left thousands of migrants in limbo. (read more)

Perhaps you will recall when Edward Snowden exposed the truth that the government was spying on American citizens, they called him a traitor and want to imprison him for life or even execute him for revealing that the government no longer complies with the Constitution.

Absolutely NOTHING came out of that and the government claimed it was Snowden who was risking national security. Now with everything coming out from Twitter, the same thing is taking place at YouTube, Google, Microsoft, you name it. That little backdoor that Microsoft uses with these endless updates to see what you are searching supposedly for target advertising, you can bet your life that also includes the very same scheme.

And these are the people pushing us into World War and they are desperate to misrepresent absolutely everything. Zelensky is destroying his own country and he will live comfortably with a golden deal with the USA when the final collapse unfolds in Ukraine. These people have no regard for human rights no less our constitutional rights. They think they will rule the world, but our computer shows they will destroy everything and they will not retain power. But naturally, they do not want to hear that.

ANSWER: I do not believe that Trump will be the Republican nominee. That will probably be Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. I have said that some old friends in DC contacted me and they asked me if I would talk to Trump against his running in 2024 and if I would advise DeSantis. My response was no. I said if I got back into the political game, I would tell DeSantis not to run for they would eat him for lunch in DC.

I know they have done an extraordinary character assassination of Trump. The onslaught of legal cases against him and the nonsense of the January 6th investigation was all predesigned to prevent him from running ever again. Why?  Because he is an outsider and he now understands that he was played. The SWAMP is on both sides, so you will find many Republicans like things as corrupt as they are.

There is no getting out of this crisis. ALL those in Washington are no different than a horse in the central park walking the streets with blinders on so they only see what is in front of their face.

As I have said, NOBODY has tried to defeat my model more than me. I have learned that there is NO politician who gives a damn about the long-term. They are ONLY interested in the next story or election. I was cheered on Capitol Hill when I visited in 2011 as this is the guy with the model they have been trying to suppress. Yet, nobody will take any action for the long-term.

They will try to push war during the summer of 2024 to influence the election. If Trump runs, I think it will be as an independent. He is hated by career politicians on both sides.

Katie Hobbs and Arizona Officials Now Seek Fines and $25,000+ in Judicial Sanctions as Punishment Against Kari Lake

Kari Lake dared to bring a lawsuit against Arizona officials for manipulating the outcome of the 2022 gubernatorial election.  Last Saturday, despite affirming the numerous issues in the election, a Maricopa judge ruled Ms. Lake failed to prove malicious intent for the failed electronic voting systems and broken chain of custody issues.

Without an admission of intent, and without evidence to prove to a demonstrable certainty the errors, mistakes and broken election procedures were intended to influence the election outcome, Judge Peter Thompson ruled against the challenge and asked the defense team to provide him with a list of sanctions against the Lake campaign.

Today, the team of Katie Hobbs asked the court for $25,050 in fines against Kari Lake and other penalties and fines the court may deem necessary to punish the plaintiff for challenging a duly certified election result.  [Today Court Filing Here]

(Via NBC) – […] Hobbs and the county asked for sanctions against Lake and her legal team after an Arizona judge denied Lake’s bid to reverse the results of the November election in a two-day trial. Lake, a prominent election denier and Trump ally, was allowed to go to trial last week with two of her 10 claims, which alleged misconduct with ballot printers and problems with ballot chain of custody.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson denied Lake’s challenge after the trial in a 10-page ruling Saturday. He said the court did not find clear and convincing evidence of misconduct that would have changed the election results. Thompson also noted that the defendants had stated their intention to seek sanctions against Lake and ordered them to file a motion for sanctions by Monday morning.

Attorneys for Hobbs, who has been Arizona’s secretary of state for four years, joined the county in its filing Monday seeking $25,050 from Lake, which includes attorney fees for Hobbs and the state’s most populous county. The county took aim at Lake’s remarks before the election indicating she would not accept the results unless she won, as well as her “groundless” and “frivolous” lawsuit after the election was certified.  (read more)

I’m a little surprised Mrs. Hobbs did not request 1,000 hrs of indentured servitude against Mrs. Lake, whereby the plaintiff would be forced to cook, clean and do other domestic chores for the wounded Mrs. Hobbs.   Then again, I probably shouldn’t give them any ideas.  FUBAR

Will Putin Step Down in 2023?

We have a very serious problem. Former Chancellor Merkel has openly stated that there was NEVER any intention to carry out the Minsk Agreement and that not only condemned the people of the Donbas to war, loss of their religion, and the tyranny of Kiev, but they were using them for bait to deliberately force Putin to invade to start a war with Russia. Congressman  Adam Kinzinger just came out and said that NATO could destroy Russia in three days. The real danger here is that Merkel, and also the former president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, have both publicly stated that they played Putin for a fool. In 2023, we are entering a very critical time period where Putin may step down during January, or April/May 2023 and then the Neocons will take the reigns of power and they will not be so soft.

What is so dangerous is that this not only demonstrates to China that the West cannot be trusted in making any agreements whatsoever, but that the Russian neocons have been put on notice that the intention of NATO is to wipe Russia off the face of the earth. They DELIBERATELY blew up the Nordstream pipeline showing that this is a long-term objective to crush the Russian economy. Our world leaders WANT WAR and they are the aggressor – not Russia. They deliberately had the Vice President at the Munich Conference state that Ukraine should join NATO. Then on February 23rd, 2022, one day before Putin made his move, Zelensky came out and said Ukraine wanted to rearm itself with nuclear weapons.

Anyone who cannot see what is taking place here is blind. The West NEEDS war to terminate the monetary system as it stands today. They are looking for a war with Russia and China so they can call Bretton Woods II and craft their digital currency managed by the IMF and install their one-world government administered by the United Nations. We will completely lose all freedom and any right to vote whatsoever. Keep in mind that in ALL parliamentary systems, the people never vote for who shall be the head of state. That is unique to the United States. They want to eliminate that ability, Our computer has been warning that we will soon end the right of Americans to vote for a President.

In June 2022, former president  Petro Poroshenko said in an interview with several Western media outlets, including Deutsche Welle, publicly admitted that there had never been any question of implementing the Minsk agreements and that they had only been intended to give Ukraine time. He said:

“We got what we wanted. We did not believe Putin, just as we do not believe him now. Our task was, first of all, to remove the threat, or at least to delay the war. We gave ourselves eight years to restore economic growth and build up the strength of the armed forces. That was the first task – and it was accomplished […]. Despite the fact that the war lasted eight years – as far as a large-scale military operation is concerned, I think the Minsk agreements have fulfilled their role.”

Interestingly, the former German Chancellor Angela Merkel said exactly the same thing, on December 7th, 2022, curiously, the very anniversary of Pearl Harbor – Sunday, December 7, 1941. The real question here is that it certainly appears that they negotiated in bad faith and played Putin for a fool. That is highly dangerous now In her interview with the Zeit

Merkel stated very clearly: “I considered the 2008 discussion on the membership of Ukraine and Georgia in NATO to be a mistake. These countries did not have the necessary conditions for it, and the consequences of such a decision had not been fully considered, both in terms of Russia’s actions against Georgia and Ukraine and for NATO and its rules of assistance. And the 2014 Minsk agreements were an attempt to give Ukraine time.”
