Schiff and Nadler Hiring Lawfare Members for Investigative Staff…

HPSCI Chairman Adam Schiff and Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler are hiring members of the anti-Trump “legal resistance movement”, ie Lawfare, to fill their key investigative staff roles.

Chairman Schiff announced his hiring of former SDNY U.S. Attorney Daniel Goldman today [See Here].  The associated network surrounding Goldman is filled with familiar names and ideological alignment.  The Schiff hiring of Goldman follows on the heels of Chairman Nadler hiring Obama Administration lawyer Norm Eisen and criminal defense attorney Barry Berke [See Here].

A brutally obvious aspect to this is how all of these Trump-hating characters have interests, multiple tiered conflicts, and are vested in the outcome of the congressional investigation of President Trump.  Heck, many of the players being absorbed by the congressional team staff are direct or indirect stakeholders in the investigative outcome.  Thus we see a typical Lawfare control pattern.

The appointment of Robert Mueller was primarily a shield against discovery of Obama White House, DOJ and FBI misconduct of historic proportions.  Mueller’s team was/is comprised of many active participants in the weaponization of government. The Mueller probe was/is a tool to defend themselves from exposure.

Some have speculated the Mueller probe may be winding down or coming to an end this month.  The most reasonable evidence therein seems to be the planned retirement of DAG Rod Rosenstein who would not be leaving the DOJ if his partner, Robert Mueller, was still deep into his investigative process.

However, I would caution anyone who may think a conclusion to Mueller’s probe is equivalent to the end of the investigative duty of those resistance Lawfare allies within his team.

Exactly the opposite is true.

Remember, Robert Mueller didn’t come into this process as an ‘outsider’, and Mueller didn’t select the team.  The corrupt team already inside government (FBI Counsel James Baker, DOJ Deputy Andrew Weissmann etc.) knew Mueller and they brought him in to lead the team.  Mueller didn’t select the team; the team selected their figurehead – Mueller.

The larger alliance of lawyers, insiders, and corrupt DOJ and FBI officials have metastasized tentacles that reach inside and outside of government.  In essence, Mueller’s official and unofficial crew will just move offices and become part of Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler’s staff.

With some additions, the names and intentions stay the same for all of these characters, their location within the larger Lawfare resistance movement is all that changes.

The same career workers, officials and U.S. attorney’s who were within the corrupt Obama DOJ and FBI; some of whom exited to the private sector for a more effective resistance approach; will re-enter into the realm of House investigative staff to continue the same process under a different file name.   However, the activity is exactly the same.

Each of the corrupt metastatic worker bees shifts from weaponizing the Intelligence Community, White House, National Security Council, DOJ and FBI into weaponizing House committees.  The objectives and agenda remains the same.

In addition to the removal of U.S. President Donald Trump each of the crew also have a responsibility to cover for the higher level external stakeholders: President Obama, Susan Rice, Denis McDonough, Ash Carter, James Clapper, John Brennan, Loretta Lynch, Sally Yates, James Comey, Andrew McCabe, James Baker, Robert Mueller, Rod Rosenstein, Dana Boente and the former facilitating White House officials writ large.

New Yorker – Representative Adam Schiff, the chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, has hired a veteran prosecutor with experience fighting Russian organized crime to lead his investigation of the Trump Administration.

Last month, according to a committee source, Daniel Goldman, who served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York from 2007 to 2017, joined the committee’s staff as a senior adviser and the director of investigations.

The hiring of Goldman, who will be joined by two other former federal prosecutors on Schiff’s staff, underlines Schiff’s decision to conduct an aggressive investigation of the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia during the 2016 Presidential campaign. In the rough division of labor among the various committees in the House of Representatives, Schiff’s panel is tackling the most provocative and, so far, most elusive subject related to the President: whether so-called collusion occurred between the Trump campaign and Moscow.

In public comments, Schiff has suggested that Trump’s interest as a private citizen in building a tower in Moscow led him to curry favor with Vladimir Putin, the Russian President. American intelligence agencies long ago concluded that the Russian government made significant efforts, through the hacking of e-mails and use of social media, to help elect Trump over Hillary Clinton. The question of whether the Trump campaign facilitated, assisted, or knew about these efforts has been at the heart of the investigation by the special counsel, Robert Mueller—and will also be central to Schiff’s inquiry.

Goldman seems well suited to lead this effort. As deputy chief of the organized-crime section of the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s office, Goldman supervised the prosecution of more than thirty defendants accused of racketeering, gambling, and money laundering. During his decade in the office, Goldman convicted individuals associated with Russian organized crime of securities fraud and health-care fraud, and convicted leading figures in the Genovese crime family of racketeering and murder.

One of Schiff’s previous committee hires drew a critical comment from the President. Last month, Schiff hired Abigail C. Grace, who served as an Asia-policy staffer on the National Security Council during the early part of the Trump Administration. In response, President Trump tweeted that the Democrats were going “nuts” and that Schiff was “stealing people who work at the White House.” In response, Schiff pointed out that congressional committees often employ individuals with experience in the executive branch. Notice how the rats abandon their corrupt DOJ ship with Captain AG William Barr at the helm; and now jump into the corrupt House Committee ship for safe passage.

In actuality the corrupt usurpers were running amok inside the Executive Branch for over two years; now they transfer to the Legislative Branch to continue.  Setting the stage for a siege of the Executive.

All of this made possible by….

Wait for it…..

Yup, primarily DAG Rod Rosenstei

REPLY: Thank you. I agree. If we stopped and looked at the facts, putting politics aside, we would see that we deserve what we get if we do not act.

CEA Chairman Kevin Hassett Cautiously Optimistic on Lighthizer’s Progress…

U.S. Trade Rep Robert Lighthizer’s work on the U.S-China trade negotiations is easily the most technically challenging and legally complex trade deal in the history of U.S. Commerce. Lighthizer is not focused on selling more U.S. product, he is focused on bigger issues and enforcement therein.

Think about it.  This is a deal between a U.S. open market economy and a communist controlled closed market economy in China.  No nation has a comprehensive trade deal with China on anything except individual business sectors.

Despite China’s entry into the World Trade Organization, no nation has ever achieved anything close to an aggregate FTA (Free Trade Agreement) with China.  This deal would be the first comprehensive deal, and as such Lighthizer is essentially mapping out an agreement that all other nations could follow….  This is big-league.

The protection of intellectual property; cyber security; patent protections and trade secrets; the removal of non-tariff trade barriers; protection for U.S. ownership of companies doing business in China; the confrontation of currency manipulation; and the sector-by-sector enforcement provisions are the primary objectives of Ambassador Robert Lighthizer.

The Chinese trade delegation wanted a relatively light framework for the MOU (Memo of Understanding); basically a six page outline. However, Bob Lighthizer and President Trump demanded heavy contractual terms that can be directly transferred from the initial agreement (MOU) into the final legally binding deal; a very ‘heavy’ MOU.

If there is to be a trade summit between President Trump and Chairman Xi Jinping, this is the contract they would be committing themselves to.

In this video interview below CEA Chairman Kevin Hassett is cautious to stay in his lane, but he hints that Lighthizer and Trump’s contract framework, the agreement in principle, is already “north of 100 pages” and still being worked hard.

President Trump Hosts National Association of Attorneys General – (Video and Transcript)…

Earlier today President Donald Trump hosted an annual gathering for the National Association of Attorneys General.  Video and Transcript)

.

[Transcript] – State Dining Room, 4:30 P.M. EST – THE PRESIDENT: Thank you. (Applause.) Please. Thank you very much. I’m very honored to welcome our State Attorneys General back to the White House.

We were together last year, and I said, “I’m inviting you back.” And a lot things have been done, a lot of progress has been made. And, Vice President, thank you very much for being here. You were here last year and we’re here again, Mike.

Let me begin by saying our hearts go out to everyone affected by the devastating storms in Alabama, Georgia, and the surrounding states, and especially to the families of those who have tragically lost their lives.

I’ve spoken with Governor Ivey, and we’re working closely with officials throughout the region to get our communities back on their feet. Attorney General Marshall and Attorney General Carr, when you get home, please tell the people of the great states of Alabama and Georgia that America has their backs. We have a call in to Brian Kemp, and we let them know and — the Governor and everybody — that we’re with you 100 percent. Thank you very much. One hundred percent, we’ll be there. Thank you.

I want to thank your National Association President, Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry — a friend of mine. We’re also grateful to be joined by our fantastic new Attorney General, Bill Barr. Bill, thank you.

Today, we join together to reaffirm and strengthen the vital partnership among state, local, and federal law enforcement. Only by working together can we ensure security for every community and deliver justice for every citizen.

I want to take a moment to send a message this afternoon, on behalf of everyone in this room, to all law enforcement personnel across America: You are loved, you are cherished and respected by the American people more than you will ever know. So true. More than you will ever know.

When I took office two years ago, one of my highest priorities was to reduce violent crime. In the two years before my inauguration, violent crime was up substantially — very substantially — and murders had increased by more than 20 percent.

For this reason, my administration resurrected Project Safe Neighborhoods — bringing together citizens groups, sheriffs, and police departments to put dangerous offenders behind bars, while supporting crime prevention and reentry programs.

Part of the reason we’re doing well is that people are getting jobs because the economy may be the strongest it’s ever been. I mean, all of your states are doing very well. I think we have the strongest economy, perhaps, ever. The lowest unemployment rate we’ve ever had — you could say “51 years” or you could say “ever.” But groups — if you look at African American, Asian American, Hispanic American — the lowest unemployment rate, historically, ever. So that helps a lot with what you do.

We deployed 200 new violent crime prosecutors. We charged a record number of firearms offenders. And last year, we prosecuted the most violent criminals ever. The most ever in our history, also.

With your help and leadership, violent crime is now going down for the first time in a long time. Murders in America’s largest cities dropped by 7 percent between 2016 and 2017.

Last year, we passed historic legislation to combat the devastating opioid and drug crisis. And I’m dealing with China right now on a very big trade deal, as you probably have read, heard. Some of you are a little bit involved.

But I can tell you, I said to President Xi that we cannot let fentanyl into our country. Almost 100 percent comes from China. It’s devastating. As you know, better than I do, it’s devastating. And he has promised to — and they’re in the process of doing — so when I take him for his word — make it a criminal act at the highest level, which, in China, means the death penalty. That should have a massive impact on fentanyl coming into our country from China.

This legislation expands lifesaving treatment and authorizes funding for local law enforcement to help those badly addicted get the treatment they need.

Our State Attorneys General are launching bold initiatives to fight this epidemic. In Arkansas, Attorney General Leslie Rutledge — thank you. Where is Leslie? Thank you. Thank you, Leslie, very much. Great job you’re doing too. Has taken on the drug companies, launched a groundbreaking education program and trained local law enforcement to investigate and prosecute those responsible for the opioid epidemic. So, Leslie, I want to thank you very much. Everyone is talking about it. Great job.

But to defeat this deadly epidemic, America’s southern border must be urgently and very strongly secured. We fight wars 6,000 miles away, we spend billions and billions of dollars, but we don’t control our own border.

Drug trafficking and human traffickers exploit our porous border to finance their ruthless operations across our hemisphere. One in three migrant women is sexually assaulted on the very dangerous journey north. Criminal cartels terrorize innocent people on both sides of the border. Thousands of our citizens are killed by lethal narcotics — 88,000 people, just with certain types of drugs — most of which come through the southern border. Eighty-eight thousand people die and that’s just a small portion of it. Hardworking people of every background pay the price for a lack of border control and security.

In the last two years, ICE officers made 266,000 arrests of aliens with criminal records, including those charged or convicted of approximately 100,000 assaults — and these are new numbers, hard to believe — 30,000 sex crimes, and 4,000 murders.

Every day, our brave ICE officers are on the front lines protecting our communities. We must always support the heroes of law enforcement, and we all support law enforcement in every way.

Sanctuary cities that release known criminal aliens put all Americans at risk. I urge everyone here today to make sure that your states and cities are fully cooperating with the Department of Homeland Security in their lifesaving mission.

We all share the same righteous goal: to build a future where every American — both immigrant and U.S.-born — can thrive in safety, dignity, harmony, and peace.

Before Christmas, I was proud to sign historic, bipartisan criminal justice reform into law. And I want to thank the National Association of Attorneys General for everything you did to help pass this FIRST STEP Act. And a special thanks to Attorney General Karl Racine. Where’s Karl? Karl? Karl? Karl? Hi, Karl. Great job. Thank you very much. You were very helpful. Everybody said “Karl.” I feel like you’re — like I know you. (Laughter.) That’s pretty good.

STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL RACINE: I feel like I know you as well, Mr. President. (Laughter.)

THE PRESIDENT: Karl is — really was fantastic, from the District of Columbia.

Attorney General Josh Stein. Josh, thank you very much. Thank you, Josh. Josh, Josh. Stand up, Josh. Go ahead. Come on. That’s great. From a great place — from North Carolina.

And Attorney General, my friend Ken Paxton, from Texas. Thanks, Ken. Thanks. Great. Great job.

Together, we’re making our communities safer, our future brighter, and our people more prosperous than ever before. This is what our state and federal partnership is all about: putting the American Dream within reach of all of our citizens. And that’s happening more and more, and we’re very proud of it.

Thank you all for your friendship and your partnership and leadership. Extraordinary leadership, really. Thank you all for the incredible service to your states, your citizens, and your nation. You are very special people and doing a very special and important job. And everybody very much appreciates it, and I want to lead that list. Great job. Thank you very much.

Thank you. Thank you, everybody. (Applause.)

Whoopsie: AOC Chief of Staff Caught Using Sketchy PAC Activity for Dark Money Scheme…

Shocked, S.H.O.C.K.E.D,.. well, not really….. actually ‘predictable‘; I digress.

Mr. Saikat Chakrabarti, the chief-of-staff for Ms. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has been caught using sketchy financial PAC constructs to construct dark money schemes.

Oh dear.

WASHINGTON DC – Two political action committees founded by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s top aide funneled over $1 million in political donations into two of his own private companies, according to a complaint filed with the Federal Election Commission on Monday.

The cash transfers from the PACs — overseen by Saikat Chakrabarti, the freshman socialist Democrat’s chief of staff — run counter to her pledges to increase transparency and reduce the influence of “dark money” in politics.

Chakrabarti’s companies appear to have been set up for the sole purpose of obscuring how the political donations were used. (read more)

To be fair, all of the best corrupt capitalists participate in this PAC scheme.  However, it does lend to a particular bit of irony for the freshman socialist to be advocating for her new system of wealth distribution while utilizing the sketchy financial benefits of an unlawful dark money scheme constructed for personal benefit.

But wait, it gets worse (or better), when you overlay AOC’s statements from a recent committee finance conversation about dark money and the exploitation of PAC’s.  No, seriously… you gotta take a minute to absorb this irony.  WATCH:

Judiciary Chairman Nadler Delivers Impeachment Groundwork Witness List – President Trump Knows The Plan…

House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler has produced his committee witness list to initiate the predictable groundwork for his ‘impeachment’ process.  Pelosi’s trio of organized co-horts Schiff, Cummings and Nadler each have a role in the process.

Chairman Nadler provides some specifics within his planned approach, announcing three investigative prongs: ¹Obstruction of Justice; ²Public Corruption and ³Abuses of power.

It seems Nadler will tackle the “obstruction” aspect; Cummings will specialize on the “public corruption” angle and Schiff will likely tackle the “abuse of power” approach.

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) unveiled an investigation by the House Judiciary Committee into the alleged obstruction of justice, public corruption, and other abuses of power by President Trump, his associates, and members of his Administration.  As a first step, the Committee has served document requests to 81 agencies, entities, and individuals believed to have information relevant to the investigation.

“Over the last several years, President Trump has evaded accountability for his near-daily attacks on our basic legal, ethical, and constitutional rules and norms,” said Chairman Jerrold Nadler.  “Investigating these threats to the rule of law is an obligation of Congress and a core function of the House Judiciary Committee.

We have seen the damage done to our democratic institutions in the two years that the Congress refused to conduct responsible oversight.  Congress must provide a check on abuses of power.  Equally, we must protect and respect the work of Special Counsel Mueller, but we cannot rely on others to do the investigative work for us.  Our work is even more urgent after senior Justice Department officials have suggested that they may conceal the work of the Special Counsel’s investigation from the public.

“We have sent these document requests in order to begin building the public record.  The Special Counsel’s office and the Southern District of New York are aware that we are taking these steps.  We will act quickly to gather this information, assess the evidence, and follow the facts where they lead with full transparency with the American people.  This is a critical time for our nation, and we have a responsibility to investigate these matters and hold hearings for the public to have all the facts.  That is exactly what we intend to do.”

The Committee’s investigation will cover three main areas:

  • Obstruction of Justice, including the possibility of interference by the President and others in a number of criminal investigations and other official proceedings, as well as the alleged cover-up of violations of the law;
  • Public Corruption, including potential violations of the emoluments clauses of the U.S. Constitution, conspiracy to violate federal campaign and financial reporting laws, and other criminal misuses of official positions for personal gain; and
  • Abuses of Power, including attacks on the press, the judiciary, and law enforcement agencies; misuse of the pardon power and other presidential authorities; and attempts to misuse the power of the Office of the Presidency. (link)

Nadler provides his Witness List:

(Link to specifics of listed names)

Byron York finally catches on to the impeachment roadmap {article}, declaring: “Impeachment is On“.  For everyone else… this has been entirely predictable since immediately after the November 2018 when Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer began holding organizational meetings with all interested stakeholders.

Chairman Cummings and Chairman Schiff have another month before their formal hearing schedules are due for review and approval:

(Pelosi Rules)

All of this is carefully designed. None of this is organic. All of the participants have networked contacts acting as intermediaries (like Lawfare) to provide arms-length plausible deniability to the larger political scheme.

These plans and schemes are all professional Democrats spend time thinking and talking about. This is what they do. This is all they do. This is their purpose in life; nothing else matters.

The structural impeachment schedule will ultimately lead to House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler.  Professional political Democrats would not be using “impeachment” in the constitutional sense of the process (high crimes and misdemeanors); but rather weaponizing the process –as a tool itself– to: •target the executive office; •diminish the presidency (“isolate”/”marginalize”, Alinsky rules); •and position themselves for 2020.

Chairman Nadler will begin specifically focused hearings sometime in late April or May 2019.  If they stay committed to the timeline, and so far they are right on cue, the House impeachment vote will be scheduled for sometime in the early/mid fall of this year.

Following their plan, this gives Democrats and the media around six months +/- to build an overwhelming political argument against President Trump; and, with the help of media, create such political controversy that Senate Republicans (Decepticon Caucus) will be showcasing pearl-clutching anxiety into the senate impeachment trial.

Fortunately there are signals beginning to surface that indicate at least some members of congress are aware of the insufferable scheme and beginning to get out in front of it.

The best defense is a good offense.

The republicans might be in the minority position but they have a distinct advantage.  We have the opposition’s playbook in front of us…. we know what they are going to do; we know what the sequence of plays is; and we know generally the timeline they will be using…

That’s valuable information.

So, join with President Trump and use it !
