American Media Blocked in Europe

The American media companies such as Tronc and Lee Enterprises are now totally dark in European Union countries. Some of those sites include the Los Angeles Times, the New York Daily News, the St. Louis Dispatch, the Chicago Tribune, and the Orlando Sentinel. It appears that various American media have decided to simply block Europe entirely rather than risk that they may publish a story that will inspire GDPR to be invoked on them in retaliation.

  1. Apparently, my blog is currently being blocked from any European access due to the GDPR and the Word Press decision I must make regarding accepting the new “rule” at the bottom of my blog!

It says: “Privacy & Cookies: This site uses cookies. By continuing to use this website, you agree to their use.
To find out more, including how to control cookies, see here: Cookie Policy”

I was wondering why I haven’t gotten ANY spam today! I was also wondering why the 18 visitors (so far) to my blog are only from America.

Hmmm…tough decision. Allow more spam in (at times I would get over 104 spam posts over a few days when not monitoring my blog) which are thankfully caught by Askimet (but which I still must empty); or keep the EU from accessing my blog.

Thanks so much for posting this link to Armstrong Economics. I wouldn’t have known what was going on re: the choice that Word Press put up without that information.
