Comrade rebels, the Ministry of Truth is here to guide you in your correct thoughts.   Google, the world’s largest internet search engine and owner of the YouTube platform, has announced their intent to demonetize any content providers who challenge scientific consensus on climate change and global warming.

According to CBS, any person who advances a “prohibited claim” will have ads on their their content removed.

CBS – “Google and YouTube will soon prohibit advertisements on content that “contradicts well-established scientific consensus around the existence and causes of climate change,” Google announced Thursday. The decision will prevent the creators of such content from earning ad revenue from Google.

The advertisement ban, which will be implemented next month, targets “content referring to climate change as a hoax or a scam, claims denying that long-term trends show the global climate is warming, and claims denying that greenhouse gas emissions or human activity contribute to climate change,” Google said. The platforms will also ban ads that promote that type of content.”

[…] Google said it will “look carefully” at whether a piece of content is making a prohibited claim or simply discussing it, and said many climate-related topics —like debates on climate policies, the different impacts of climate change and new research — will still be acceptable. (more)

  1. The fossil fuel industry has weaponized social media in order to continue making trillions of dollar even though increased emissions of their product is warming the planet and creating lethal extreme weather events. They and anyone pushing climate change denial are complicit in mass murder on a daily basis. Exxon Mobile has been shown to be long aware of the hazards of their product. They are using Google and Twitter to create doubt so that they won’t be shut down.
