For the midterm election day we have a pretty good idea what the overall media approach will be [See Here]. Knowing the gaslighting will likely be even worse than 2016, it becomes more important to tune out the media’s narrative and stick to substance. That’s where the value of YOUR ground reports come in.
Based on scale, CTH has readers in every state, every city, and likely almost every precinct in the country.
So, YOU are now the media.
We will present ground report threads for you to share your insight and voting experience in your community on this midterm election. Past experience tells us the best approach is to use a noon thread (12pm – 3pm ET / 9am – 12pm PT); and a mid-day thread (3pm – 6pm ET / 12pm – 3pm PT), for you to share individual ground reports. From these reports we can get a good picture of what’s going on coast-to-coast.
Then starting at 7:00pm ET we will begin reviewing election results in two hour increments. NOTE: I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to ignore “exit polling” pushed by media. Exit polling is a complete con, used to fabricate and shape talking points for media pundits. Ignore exit polling, especially in the mid-west and west coast. As we saw in 2016, exit polling is disconnected from actual voting results.
Radio personality Rush Limbaugh appeared on stage just ahead of President Trump at the final MAGA campaign rally of midterm season 2018. Mr. Limbaugh is from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where the rally was held.
Based on an overlay of how the media narrated the November 2016 presidential election; and accepting an exponential doubling-down for their midterm election effort; we can forecast how the media will push a midterm narrative to bolster their overall efforts.
Starting around mid-day tomorrow the corporate media (majority left-wing) will draw attention to pre-selected races they are confident will turn from Republican to Democrat control. The goal of this media effort will be to aid a surging ‘Democrat wave’; and, as a consequence, attempt to influence the mid-west and western state turnout.
Example: As soon as polls close on the east coast; those selected race outcomes will be used to push and deepen the disenfranchisement narrative. Republican redistricted seats like Dave Brat (Virginia CD-07), with Democrat governors (Ralph Northam), are targets for use in advancing the narrative. Should Brat lose to his Democrat challenger Abigail Spanberger, the media will use the example to push the ‘Democrat Wave’ headline, forecasting doom for the GOP House majority. This is how the media operates.
Close races all along the east coast states will be used as examples to push a media story-line intended to suppress mid-west/western state republican voters from going to the polls; even though there are several hours of voting still available.
Additionally, close eastern time-zone senate/governor races will also be used for these purposes. The goal will be to diminish turnout in states where polls are still open.
Any election outcome that does not that align with this narrative will be down-played. If there are strong republican election wins in the eastern time-zone (House, Senate or Governor) those races will not be called, and the results intentionally held back. This is how a specific narrative is framed.
These insufferable efforts were visible in the 2016 presidential election (Trump v. Clinton), and can be predicted to be deployed again in the midterm, this time with stronger intensity. Media “exit polling” is always used to advance a narrative; lift their allied candidates and diminish any victory by their political opposition. Remember, most media are glorified corporate lobbyists for ideological intents and purposes.
As the evening progresses, and more state polls close, any race that supports the Democrat ideology will be emphasized. Any race or victory that does not advance the agenda will be downplayed and/or ignored completely.
To avoid falling into the trap, everyone should ignore all ‘exit polling’ and continue to vote regardless of the inbound barrage of structured disinformation from media.
If you live toward the western U.S., or in a time-zone that is hours behind eastern time, it is critical you continue to turn out to vote regardless of what you hear pushed through the media. There are dozens of key races that will come down to a few hundred votes. Make sure your voice is counted.
For the final MAGA rally of the midterm election President Trump heads to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, for a rally at the Show Me Center. In addition to President Trump, special guests Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and Lee Greenwood will be in attendance.
The anticipated start time is 9:00pm CT / 10:00pm ET, with likely pre-rally speeches and events highlighting the importance of tomorrow’s midterm election.
President Trump travels to Cleveland Ohio for the first of three MAGA rallies today in his last push to campaign for candidates ahead of the midterm election day. Following Ohio, the president travels to Indiana, then Missouri. Anticipated start time for the Cleveland rally is 3:00pm ET, with pre-rally speakers and events ongoing.
For the second MAGA rally of the day President Donald Trump heads to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The President is supporting Republican candidate Mike Braun in his bid to unseat democrat incumbent Senator Joe Donnelly.
The President is scheduled to speak at 6:30pm ET with pre-rally speakers and events ongoing. With multiple rallies in a day some of the livestreaming tends to get glitchy.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin hold a joint press conference to discuss U.S. policy toward Iran and the reinstitution of economic sanctions.
.
[Transcript] MODERATOR: Good morning, everyone, and welcome to the Foreign Press Center. We are pleased to have with us this morning Secretary Pompeo and Secretary Mnuchin. They’ll both have some opening remarks and then hopefully we’ll have time for one or two questions afterwards.
Secretary Pompeo, please.
SECRETARY POMPEO: Hey, Robert. Thank you. Good morning, everyone. It’s great to be here at the Foreign Press Center. It’s great to see you all. In May of this year, after President Trump withdrew from the nuclear deal, the Trump administration announced a new strategy to fundamentally alter the behavior of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s leadership. At the center of this effort – and there are multiple lines of effort – but at the center of it is an unprecedented campaign of economic pressure. Our objective is to starve the Iranian regime of the revenue it uses to fund violent and destabilizing activities throughout the Middle East, and indeed around the world.
Our ultimate goal is to convince the regime to abandon its current revolutionary course. Just look at what happened last week. Denmark announced it had uncovered an Iranian regime assassination plot on its own soil. The Iranian regime has a choice. It can either do a 180-degree turn from its outlaw course of action and act like a normal country, or it can see its economy crumble.
We hope a new agreement with Iran is possible, but until Iran makes changes in the 12 ways that I listed in May, we will be relentless in exerting pressure on the regime. As a reflection of that resolve, today we’re reimposing all sanctions that were previously lifted under the nuclear deal. This includes sanctions on energy, banking, shipping, and shipbuilding industries.
Since the Trump administration came into office, we’ve done 19 rounds of sanctions targeting 168 Iranian entities. Today’s sanctions will accelerate the rapid decline of international economic activity in Iran since the implementation of our strategy in May. Since that time, since back in May, over 100 companies have withdrawn from Iran or canceled plans to do business there. It should be noted that if a company evades our sanctions regime and secretly continues sanctionable commerce in the Islamic Republic, the United States will levy severe, swift penalties on it, including potential sanctions. I promise you that doing business with Iran in defiance of our sanctions will ultimately be a much more painful business decision than pulling out of Iran and it – being connected to Iran entirely.
More than 20 importing nations have zeroed out their imports of crude oil already, taking more than one million barrels of crude per day off the market. The regime today, since May, has lost over $2.5 billion in oil revenue. We have decided to issue temporary allotments to a handful of countries responsible to specific circumstances and to ensure a well-supplied oil market. The U.S. will be granting these exemptions to China, India, Italy, Greece, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Turkey. Each of those countries has already demonstrated significant reductions of the purchase of Iranian crude over the past six months, and indeed two of those eight have already completely ended imports of Iranian crude and will not resume as long as the sanctions regime remains in place. We continue negotiations to get all of the nations to zero.
Additionally today, 100 percent of the revenue Iran receives from the sale of oil will be held in foreign accounts. Iran can only use this money for humanitarian trade or bilateral – in bilateral nonsanctioned goods.
Speaking of Iran’s nuclear program, we have decided to grant narrow and temporary waivers that permit the continuation of three nonproliferation projects currently underway. Allowing these activities to continue for the time being will improve ongoing oversight of Iran’s civil nuclear program and make these facilities less susceptible to illicit and illegal nuclear uses. Rest assured Iran will never come close to getting a nuclear weapon on President Trump’s watch.
I will now turn it over to Secretary Mnuchin.
SECRETARY MNUCHIN: Thank you. Today the United States is executing on the final actions to withdraw on the Obama administration’s fatally flawed Iran deal. This morning, we will fully impose sanctions on the Iranian regime. This is part of a maximum unprecedented economic pressure campaign the United States is waging against the world’s largest state sponsor of terror. Today we sanctioned more than 700 individuals, entities, aircraft, and vessels as part of Treasury’s largest ever single day action targeting Iran. Over 300 of those sanctions are new targets. In addition, we are relisting hundreds of individuals and entities that were previously sanctioned, granted sanctions relief under the JCPOA.
These powerful sanctions directly target Iran’s banking, energy, and shipping sectors. The Iranian regime has funneled billions of dollars for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps force through the banking sector. Today’s designation includes 50 Iranian banks and their foreign and domestic subsidiaries in conduction with Iran’s regime support for international terrorism, proliferation of mass destruction, or their means of delivery and human rights abuses.
Our actions include the identification of more than 400 targets, including over 200 persons and vessels in Iran’s shipping and energy sector; Iran Air, the national airline of Iran, and more than 65 aircraft; the placement of nearly 250 persons in associated block properties on the Specially Designated Nationals list; the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.
Over the last five months, Treasury has implemented some of the most impactful sanctions ever seen. Combined with the previous actions, more than 900 Iran-related targets have been sanctioned under this administration in less than two years, marking the highest-ever level of U.S. economic pressure on Iran. We are making it abundantly clear to the Iranian regime that they will face mounting financial isolation until they fundamentally change their destabilizing behavior.
Iran’s leaders must cease support for terrorism and end destructive regional activities immediately. They must stop ballistic missiles and abandon their nuclear ambitions if they seek a path to sanctions relief. We are watching the Iranian regime with laser focus. If they try to evade our sanctions, we will take action to disrupt their activity time and time again.
The maximum pressure exerted by the United States is only going to mount from here. Companies around the world need to know we will be strictly enforcing our sanctions. Thank you.
MODERATOR: That – we’ll have time for a few questions. Let’s go to Sky News, Cordelia Lynch.
QUESTION: Hello, this is a question for Secretary Pompeo. The President invoked Game of Thrones when he was discussing sanctions. Do you think that was appropriate?
SECRETARY POMPEO: This administration has been consistent from, frankly, President Trump’s campaign to the first day he was inaugurated about our intention. We understand that the Islamic Republic of Iran presents a threat to the United States of America, and we are determined to stop it. And much has been made about this Game of Thrones. Qasem Soleimani responded, and I haven’t seen any of you comment on that. This is a man who has American blood on his hands. He’s killed American soldiers, and that’s not funny. And the actions that the Islamic Republic of Iran are taking are not about little silly things that people get wrapped up here in Washington, D.C., but about very serious matters that impact all of Europe, all the Middle East and the world, and our young men and women who are in harm’s way today.
MODERATOR: Thank you, sir. Next question is going to be Asahi Shimbun, Yuko Lanham. Yuko?
All right. We’re going to move on to EFE, Beatriz Pascual Macias.
QUESTION: Hi, thank you very much. Thank you very much. I was wondering, what could you say to the European countries that were expecting to be in this list of countries that are not going to suffer the sanctions? And what kind of relation have you have with them, what are the conversations regarding this topic? Thank you.
SECRETARY POMPEO: You want to talk about on the financial side, Steven?
SECRETARY MNUCHIN: Well, I don’t think we’ve ever said that it relates to the European countries, that they’ll be exempt. I think quite the contrary. We’ve said that we expect them to honor the sanctions. Having said that, there are certain transactions that they can continue to do, whether they’re humanitarian transactions or specific trade in the restricted accounts. And again, let me just emphasize, as I said last week, we will make sure that humanitarian transactions are really going for those purposes. So this is not about hurting the people of Iran, but we will not let money be diverted to humanitarian purposes and then put for terrorist activities.
SECRETARY POMPEO: And then just to follow up, with respect to the relationship, we’ve been very candid and clear with all of the European countries. There are more than three, we should note. Many of them are fully supportive of what it is that we are undertaking. They have taken a different approach with respect to the JCPOA, but it is also something that the whole world should know. European businesses have already made their decisions. They’ve decided not to do business with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and so we’re very confident that the sanctions regime that we’re putting in place will be effective.
MODERATOR: Al Jazeera English, James Bays.
QUESTION: James Bays from Al Jazeera English. You talk about the destabilizing behavior of Iran in the region. How does that differ from the behavior of Saudi Arabia?
SECRETARY POMPEO: So let me just go through the list: Underwriting Lebanese Hizballah, that presents a threat to the United States of America and Israel; underwriting the Houthis in Yemen, causing an enormous conflict to take place there in that country; the efforts in Iraq to undermine the Iraqi Government, funding Shia militias that are not in the best interests of the Iraqi people; their efforts in Syria; the list goes on. The difference in behavior between those two countries is remarkable. Since we’ve taken office, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been very supportive of our efforts on counterterrorism. They’ve assisted us. I know Secretary Mnuchin has worked with them on a couple of projects as well. It is completely clear the Islamic Republican of Iran is the destabilizing force in the Middle East today.
Do you want to add to that?
SECRETARY MNUCHIN: No, I think it’s well said.
MODERATOR: Last question. Let’s go to TASS, Dmitry Kirsanov.
QUESTION: Thank you. Gentlemen, thanks a lot for coming over to brief us. For Secretary Pompeo. Sir, you mentioned that three waivers have been issued for the civilian nuclear energy project. Could you clarify what those are? And Bushehr nuclear power plant, will it be the one under the waiver? Thank you.
SECRETARY POMPEO: Thank you. That’s a great question. It’s a pretty complicated area, that nonproliferation issue. There are three. Bushehr is one of the three. But if I may, we will get out a full fact sheet on that here in the next hour or so that you’ll all be able to see. What we’ve authorized is very narrow, very limited, very time limited as well, but important nonetheless that these nonproliferation projects are not things that are taking place without some ability to see what’s going on, and we’ll give you the full details of the scope of those waivers.
MODERATOR: We have time for – this is the last one. Let’s go right to the front, right here, please.
QUESTION: Thank you. Roj Zalla with RUDAW TV in Iraqi Kurdistan. Mr. Secretary, Iran has very powerful hands in Iraq. Are you not concerned that with these sanctions Iran might increase the pressure on some of your allies in Iraq? And in that case, what can you do to reassure those allies?
SECRETARY POMPEO: So it’s a very reasonable question. Here’s the facts. Since the United States entered the JCPOA in 2015, Iran has turned up the heat on those very entities to which you’re referring. So we have a history, we have data set, we have a historical basis upon which to say that we know that the JCPOA didn’t impede Iran one bit from putting pressure on Kurdistan, pressure in Baghdad, pressure throughout the region. We are very hopeful that the set of efforts we’re undertaking – we’ve focused here on the financial and economic, but the full range of efforts we’re taking to push back against the Islamic Republic of Iran will have the intended effect of reducing Iran’s capacity to be destabilizing and present risk to the Middle East, to Europe, and the world.
MODERATOR: With that, that concludes this morning’s briefing. Thank you very much to Secretaries Pompeo and Mnuchin.
Sen. Chuck Grassley has asked the FBI to investigate another person he says made false claims against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Previously, an investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh by multiple women found that there were no witnesses that could provide any evidence to substantiate any of their claims. They even questioned three witnesses Christine Blasey Ford claimed were present in the house when Kavanaugh allegedly threw her on a bed and sexually assaulted her sometime in the 1980s. Nobody could collaborate with Ford’s accusations.
Grassley had also requested that the FBI investigate accuser Julie Swetnick and her attorney, Michael Avenatti, who also represents porn star Stormy Daniels in her allegations against President Trump. Swetnick’s credibility was questioned after an ex-boyfriend came forward and said “she exaggerated everything” and had even threatened to kill his unborn child. Once again, no evidence could be found to support her claims. Swetnick also had made inconsistent statements in various television interviews and then simply refused to speak with committee investigators. Senator Grassley wrote to the FBI laying it out quite clearly:
“Indeed, the evidence appears to support the position that Julie Swetnick and Mr. Avenatti criminally conspired to make materially false statements to the Committee and obstruct the Committee’s investigation.”
It is stunning that the Democrats were willing to put these forward just to create a political firestorm. They put forward allegation involving incidents in three states. Nobody could find any evidence to support any of the allegations. Grassley has also requested that the FBI investigate Judy Munro-Leighton, who anonymously claimed Kavanaugh slapped her and forced her to perform oral sex on him. She had written a letter claiming to be in California but made a mistake using an email they were able to trace and found she lied about that and was a fervent Democrat living in Kentucky. She had contacted the committee claiming she wrote an anonymous letter accusing the judge of sexual misconduct. When investigators went after her, she suddenly recanted the authorship and admitted that she never even knew Kavanaugh. She excused herself claiming it was just a “ploy” to “get attention” and had never met Justice Kavanaugh. She had stated that Kavanaugh and a friend raped her.
This is now the fourth request made by Grassley to the FBI to investigate those involved in the controversial Kavanaugh proceedings which were not just watched intensely in the United States, but it dominated the news in Canada as well. He is demanding that they investigate Julie Swetnick, who accused Kavanaugh of drunken behavior and sexual assault, and her lawyer Michael Avenatti who has publicly stated he was looking to run for president in 2020.
Grassley is demanding charges in reality which are serious and carry 5 years in prison per count for making false allegations which not just diverted resources causing millions of dollars of expenditures, but they led to an international embarrassment of the nation. Yet this has exposed the raw hatred that also exists in some aspects of the gender war than a portion of people seem to be involved in. Mix in politics, and we end up with a real mess and this entire incident, if NOT prosecuted, will become the new standard and nobody will ever seek any post if there we have lost all sense of civility. There were just far too many people who believed the women only because they were women regardless of what they said. That is a very dangerous position in politics.
As we go into the elections tomorrow, this campaign has revealed the great political divide that once it has been exploited, there is no putting it back. A Democratic win in the House guarantees that this political divide will only get wider and deeper. They cannot actually pass anything without both the White House and the Senate, so what this would do would simply become more outrageous partisanship. That means NOTHING will actually take place that would be good for the nation for the real agenda will be to appear obstructive to win the presidency in 2020.
The Kavanaugh hearings have been a disgrace. Munro-Leighton, one of the false accusers, admitted she wrote the email after seeing the “Jane Doe” letter in news reports. She said she claimed to be Jane Doe so the letter would gain attention, “I was angry and I sent it out,” the woman told investigators. This reflects the problem. People willing to say whatever it takes to just defeat the other side. How has it come down to this?
The Democrats are warning that the midterm elections undermine the future of our democracy unless President Trump’s “authoritarian” instincts are curtailed. The only means of any authoritarian actions has always been the privilege to issue executive orders by a president. It was Franklin D. Roosevelt who confiscated gold with an executive order back in 1933. It was John F. Kennedy who removed silver from the coins with an executive order. Both were Democrats. Indeed, of the recent presidents, it was Bill Clinton who issued the highest number of non-Democratic authoritarian orders than any president in history.
George HW Bush 166
Bill Clinton 364
George W. Bush 291
Barack Obama 276
Then we have the Republicans who argue that the nation’s sovereignty is at risk if Democrats prevail. Both sides are focused on domestic power because the economy is doing well and there are no explosive international issues that are pressing. This has become an election of fear mongering. Either way, this is just part of the shift from Public to Private and in the mix of this is nothing but political corruption. This will be the backdrop of what is to come into 2032. We will simply see this Great Political Divide continue to get worse and it is no longer about what is good for the nation – it is just a barroom fight between two people drunk with power. Even if the Republicans were to keep the House, we will simply see blood in the streets and the great divide will become the equivalent of a nuclear blast.
We live in a world of false hopes. The United States is by NO MEANS a democracy. The perpetual corruption of the American political system is by design. The United States was founded as a republic, NOT a democracy. As Alexander Hamilton and James Madison made clear in the Federalist Papers, that the very essence of the nation was to be a “republic” for the deliberate purpose of denying the people any direct right to actually rule. I have warned that the structure of the European Union adopted the same idea but went even further where nobody in the European Commission ever stands for any election. Hamilton and Madison did not trust the people. Just read the Federalist Papers #63 written by Madison. He emphasized:
In the most pure democracies of Greece, many of the executive functions were performed, not by the people themselves, but by officers elected by the people, and REPRESENTING the people in their EXECUTIVE capacity.
Prior to the reform of Solon, Athens was governed by nine Archons, annually ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE AT LARGE. The degree of power delegated to them seems to be left in great obscurity. Subsequent to that period, we find an assembly, first of four, and afterwards of six hundred members, annually ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE; and PARTIALLY representing them in their LEGISLATIVE capacity, since they were not only associated with the people in the function of making laws, but had the exclusive right of originating legislative propositions to the people. The senate of Carthage, also, whatever might be its power, or the duration of its appointment, appears to have been ELECTIVE by the suffrages of the people. Similar instances might be traced in most, if not all the popular governments of antiquity.
Lastly, in Sparta we meet with the Ephori, and in Rome with the Tribunes; two bodies, small indeed in numbers, but annually ELECTED BY THE WHOLE BODY OF THE PEOPLE, and considered as the REPRESENTATIVES of the people, almost in their PLENIPOTENTIARY capacity. The Cosmi of Crete were also annually ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE, and have been considered by some authors as an institution analogous to those of Sparta and Rome, with this difference only, that in the election of that representative body the right of suffrage was communicated to a part only of the people.
From these facts, to which many others might be added, it is clear that the principle of representation was neither unknown to the ancients nor wholly overlooked in their political constitutions. The true distinction between these and the American governments, lies IN THE TOTAL EXCLUSION OF THE PEOPLE, IN THEIR COLLECTIVE CAPACITY, from any share in the LATTER, and not in the TOTAL EXCLUSION OF THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE PEOPLE from the administration of the FORMER. The distinction, however, thus qualified, must be admitted to leave a most advantageous superiority in favor of the United States. But to insure to this advantage its full effect, we must be careful not to separate it from the other advantage, of an extensive territory. For it cannot be believed, that any form of representative government could have succeeded within the narrow limits occupied by the democracies of Greece.
Hamilton and Madison deliberately designed the political system that those in power would take popular views of the people and they would be translated into public policy through the election of representatives “whose wisdom may,” in Madison’s words, “best discern the true interest of their country.” That indeed radically curtailed the idea of We the People and deliberately made it that the people could only influence the government at best indirectly. This was no accident. So we have political parties deliberately exploiting hatred to prevent the people from ever figuring out that they are looked down upon and seen as fools from behind the curtain.
Let us hope that this hatred that is brewing does not manifest as it did the final days of the Roman Republic when both sides hated each other as they do today. That is when there emerged the Cataline Conspiracy which was a rumored plot against those who were elected and were to enter office on January 1st, 65BC. Supposedly, Catiline, incensed because he was not allowed to stand for the consulship, conspired with Gnaeus Calpurnius Piso and the former consuls-designate to slaughter many of the Senators and the new Consuls the day they assumed office and appoint themselves.
There is a great deal of nervousness and trepidation on the eve of our midterm election; indeed, I too resemble that remark. However, it is worthwhile to remind ourselves of the strategy behind the pre-programmed, institutional, opposition.
On the day after the 2016 election, beyond the sense of victory, there was an important aspect that needed to be highlighted. [Written Here]
The media, writ large, are not engaged within the body politic as some detached neutral observer; exactly the opposite is true.
Institutionally the media are as cunning and Machiavellian as any modern assembly.
Modern media polling; or early voter analysis, and the outlined opinions of selected stats in a myriad of unidirectional narratives; are exactly akin to lobbyist groups. Loosely defined “lobbying” is: “the act of attempting to influence the actions, policies, or decisions of others.” Doesn’t that definition also eerily describe modern media?
Lobbyists are professionals at presenting information shaped for their special interests, and intended to influence your opinion of their issue. Indeed, with volumes of citations and specific examples to evidence the analogy, there is no difference between what the corporate media sells as their ‘electoral truth’ and any lobbying group trying to sway your opinion or decision.
Corporate media and corporate lobbyists both have a strategy; both have an intention to influence; both have a long-term and short-term strategy to support their intention to influence.
It can be overwhelming to be bombarded by the structured influence messages intended to generate an outcome that is antithetical to your personal viewpoint. Conversely, if your views are represented by the lobbyists, their efforts represent an affirmation. However, it is important to note the goals of the media lobbying efforts are not in-and-of-themselves a reflection of reality. Their efforts are an intention to create reality through an outcome delivered by their influence.
In the final days before this midterm, just as we saw in the final 48 hours prior to the 2016 general election, the level of directed influence lobbying by media is astounding. But again, as the outcome of the 2016 election showed, this influence effort is not reality.
There are hundreds of billions of dollars at stake in these ‘big picture’ lobbying efforts.
One media/lobbying strategy is to keep people with particular views from voting; to suppress the voting:
Another media/lobbying strategy includes their effort to motivate people with an aligned view to increase voting.
The important part to remember is that all media presentations are trying to do one of these two things: (1) lower opposition voting; and (2) increase supportive voting.
When saying “all media presentations”, I do mean everything (every structured espousal) is part of an agenda-driven from the top of the corporate media empire, remember that.
