Facing FCC Investigation CBS Finally Responds to Accusations of News Manipulation

The FCC is investigating CBS for blatant manipulation of news. [SEE COMPLAINT HERE] CBS really has no defense.

CBS has been caught producing, via editorial manipulation, two entirely different responses to the same question.

Everyone has been asking CBS to just simply release the full transcript.  CBS has refused.  The assumption is now about the manipulative content of the broadcast being so extreme that to release a transcript would be even worse than what is already known.  The FCC complaint is simple and accurate, which is likely why CBS has never attempted to defend itself, until today.

CBS – Former President Donald Trump is accusing 60 Minutes of deceitful editing of our Oct. 7 interview with Vice President Kamala Harris. That is false.

60 Minutes gave an excerpt of our interview to Face the Nation that used a longer section of her answer than that on 60 Minutes. Same question. Same answer. But a different portion of the response. When we edit any interview, whether a politician, an athlete, or movie star, we strive to be clear, accurate and on point. The portion of her answer on 60 Minutes was more succinct, which allows time for other subjects in a wide ranging 21-minute-long segment. (Statement Link)

It is likely CBS will, eventually, release the full transcript. However, not until after the election. It is remarkable how CBS is willing to destroy any semblance of brand image that may have been left; but that position is merely just a reflection of our 2024 political situation.

Consciousness – Can A Computer Come Alive?

Federico Faggin is a physicist and inventor of the microprocessor & touch screen. He, too, explains how he attempted to create a neural net back in the 1980s and came to the realization that no matter what the movies portray, there is no such thing as Artificial Intelligence that would be Consciousness. As I have said, I created Socrates in the late 1970s and used my children as test subjects to interact with it and have a conversation. My daughter would bring her friends over and tell them her computer talked to her. I caused a bit of a stir among other parents, who asked me what I was doing.

I wrote a program to interact with my children and taught Socrates how to be a politician. You could have a conversation with it but if it did not understand, it would just change the subject. I mimicked Consciousness, but I could not create it. It would just record answers like ChatGPT. What is the name of your dog? When my daughter would return to the computer, it would simply ask how is your dog by name. From the outside, you thought it was alive. One day, she came home, and I had it apart, and she started crying, thinking I killed it.

Federico discusses that he came to the same conclusion. It is absolutely impossible to create an AI system that will suddenly come alive and achieve Consciousness.

No matter what we do, no robot will ever come alive – It is not going to happen!

Michael Moore Shows Why The USA Cannot Survive as One Nation

I never had an opinion of Michael Moore one way or the other. But I fear that his writing to President Biden claiming he has absolute immunity because of the ruling with respect to Trump sadly illustrates just how ignorant many Democrats are and how hateful they have become. The Immunity Ruling with respect to Trump is no different than immunity for everyone in Congress enjoys. You cannot even sue the government without its permission. The only person totally above the law is prosecutors. Moore actually wrote to Biden:

“You have full immunity! No kidding! No joke! That’s not hyperbole! You can get away with anything! And what if anything means everything to the people?” Moore wrote to the president.

This only shows his total ignorance. The ruling was clear that an official act is immune from the attempt of criminal prosecution or even civil litigation. That does not mean that a president can do whatever he wants when it is unconstitutional. You can still sue a prosecutor for violating the Constitution with a Bivens Action, but he cannot be criminally prosecuted.

Moore has merely shown how divided the country is. Their personal hatred of Trump has so undermined the United States that it will not be able to stand. The Democrats have engaged in raw hatred, and you then cannot shake hands with the devil or follow anything that he says. A president is not immune from declaring everyone must kill their firstborn. Sorry, that would be unconstitutional. Get real! Moore and the other Democrats who seem to be foaming at the mouth to prosecute Trump do not care what the law might be; it’s Trump, after all.
