Analysis of Global Temperature Trends, November, 2016, what’s really going on with the Climate?

The analysis and plots shown here are based on the following two data series. First NASA-GISS estimates of a global temperature shown as an anomaly (converted to degrees Celsius) as shown in their table Land Ocean Temperature Index (LOTI) and shown in the following Chart as the red plot labeled NASA. This plot is shown as a twelve month moving average to minimize the large monthly swings and better show trends; the scale for the temperatures is on the left. Second NOAA-ESRL Carbon Dioxide (CO2) values in Parts Per Million (PPM) which are shown in the following Chart as a black plot labeled NOAA. This plot is shown exactly as the data from NOAA is presented and there is no need for a moving average the scale for CO2 is shown on the right. There were no meaningful changes in the plots shown this month from last month reports.

NASA published data as stated in the first paragraph is shown as an anomaly, but what is a temperature anomaly?  An anomaly is a deviation from some base value normally an average that is fixed. There were two problems with the system that NASA picked which were number one there is no “actual” global temperature and two since climate is a variable there cannot be a real base to measure from. NASA known for its science and engineering expertise back in the day thought it could get around these issues and created a system to do so. First they developed a computer model which took readings from all over the planet and made significant adjustments to them called homogenization and came up with the estimated global temperature. Second they picked the period 1950 to 1980 (30 years) and averaged the values and came up with 14.00 degrees Celsius and make that their base.  Then they took the calculated temperature and subtracted the base from it which gave them the anomaly. The problem is that both the base and the anomaly are arbitrary.

page-1

Now that we have a base to work with we are going to add to the previous Chart three things. The first is a trend line of the growth in CO2 since that is the entire basis for climate change according to the government through NASA and NOAA. That plot is superimposed over the black plot of the actual NOAA CO2 values as the cyan line labeled as the CO2 Model and one can see there is a very good fit to the actual NOAA values so there should be no dispute about its validity.  This plot allows us to make projections as to future global temperatures according to the level of CO2. The second added item is James E. Hansen’s Scenario B data, which is the very core of the IPCC Global Climate models (GCM’s) and which was based on a CO2 sensitivity value of 3.0O Celsius per doubling of CO2. This plot is shown here in lavender and is part of a presentation that Hansen showed to congress in 1988 when the UN was about to set up the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and this plot is labeled as Hansen Scenario B which Hansen stated was the most likely to happen based on his theories’.  The third item is the current plot of the most likely temperature of the planet based on the growth of CO2 published by the IPCC. This plot is shown in Red and is labeled as IPCC AR5 A2 as that is the table where the data was found. This plot is a GCM computer projection of the planets temperature based to the complex relationships developed on the levels of CO2 by the IPCC through NASS and NOAA.

It can be seen in this Chart that the lavender plot and the Hansen plot are very close from 1965 to around 2000 after that, from 2000 to 2014, there is a very large and growing deviation reaching close to .5 degrees Celsius in 2014, which is not an insubstantial number.  Also of note is that there doesn’t seem to be a good correlation between the growth in CO2 and the increase in the planets temperature. The CO2 is going up in a log function and the Temperature was going down in a log function until recently where it reversed and is now going up in a log function. That major change in direction that occurred between 2013 and 2014 is the subject of this paper.

page-2

The next Chart is developed from the raw data from NASS and NOAA as shown in the first Chart.  This plot was made first by adding ten years blocks of temperature and CO2 as indicated in the Chart and diving by 120 to give an average for each.  Then the average Temperature was divided by the average CO2 to give degrees of temperature increase per PPM of CO2. After that was plotted it appeared that there were two different curves the first was from block 1965-1974 through block 2004-2014 shown as Black Dots and the second was from block 1995-2004 through block 2005-2016 shown as Black Dashes. When trend lines were added they were both almost perfect fits to the raw data and so you cannot see the data points very well on the Chart.  These blocks were picked to represent the entire period of time where we had both NASA temperature data and NOAA Co2 levels.

On the following Chart are two sets of color coded information. The first is Cyan plot and the Cyan box with the equation in it along with the R2 value 0f 1.0 are for the first series from block 1965-1974 through block 2004-2014. The other is the Red plot and the Red box with the equation in it along with the R2 value of 1.0 which are for the first series from block 1965-1974 through block 2004-2016. We can speculate on how this change has happened but it cannot be said that the plot change is not real; however additions data over the next few years will be required to actually prove that something has changed.

In summary the Cyan data set indicates a diminishing effect of CO2 on global temperature for about 54 years and the Red data set represents an increasing effect of CO2 on global temperature for the past 2 years. Since both data sets have an R2 value of 1.00 the trend lines cannot be in question.

page-3

Before we get into a possible explanation to the drastic change from the Cyan data to the Red data that occurred in 20014 we need to consider other factors than CO2 on Climate change.  The fault that occurred in the work that was done in the 1980’s was in assuming that there was an optimum or constant global temperature and therefore any change that was being observed was from the increasing amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.  There may have been correlation but it was never proved that there was causation (high R2 value) between CO2 and global temperatures. With that assumption, which limited options, we moved from true science into the realm of political science.  True science has an open mind and finds relationships that work in matching observations with predictions.  Political science changes history and/or facts to match the desires of the politicians. Since the politicians control the money political science is what we get; which means that what we get may not be technically correct.

A decade ago when I started looking at “climate” change the first thing I did was look at geological temperature changes since it is well known that the climate is not a constant; I learned that 52 years ago in my undergrad geology and climatology courses in 1964. The next paragraph explains currently observed patterns in climate related to this subject.

Ignoring the last Ice Age which ended some 11,000 years ago when a good portion of the Northern hemisphere was under miles of ice the following observations give a starting point to any serious study on the subject. First, there is a clear up and down movement in global temperatures with a 1,000 some year cycle going back at least 3,000 to 4,000 years; probably because of the apsidal precession of the earth’s orbit of about 20,000 years for a complete cycle. However about every 10,000 years the seasons are reversed making the winter colder and the summer warmer in the northern hemisphere. 10,000 years from now the seasons will be reversed. Secondly, there are also 60 to 70 year cycles in the Pacific and the Atlantic oceans that are well documented. These are known as the Atlantic MultiDecadal Oscillations (AMO) in the Atlantic and as La Nina and El Nino in the Pacific. Thirdly, we also know that there are greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide that can affect global temperatures. Lastly the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) estimated that carbon dioxide had a doubling rate of 3.0O Celsius plus or minus 1.5O Celsius in 1979 when there were only two studies available and one for sure and maybe both were not per reviewed.

The result of looking objectively at the three possible sources of global temperature changes was a series of equations based on these observations that when added together produced a sinusoidal curve that seemed to follow NASA published temperatures very closely.  Since this curve was based on observed temperature patterns it was called a Pattern Climate Model (PCM) which has been described in previous papers and posts on my blog and since it is generated by “equations” many assume it is some form of least squares curve fitting, which it is not. It does seem to be related to ocean currents.

As can be seen in the following Chart the PCM there is a 69.1 year cycle that moves the trend line up and then down a total of 0.29O Celsius and we are now in the downward portion of that trend (-.01491O C per year) which will continue until around ~2035.  This short cycle is clearly observed in the raw NASA data in the LOTI table going back to 1880. Then there is a long trend, 1036.7 years with an up and down of 1.65O Celsius (.00396O C per year) also observed in the NASA data. Lastly, there is CO2 adding about .0079O Celsius per year so currently they all basically wash out at -.0039O C per year, which matches the current holding pattern we are experiencing. After about 2035 the short cycle will have bottomed and turn up and all three will be on the upswing again.  Note: the values shown here are only representative as the actual model uses many more places than what are shown here.

When using the 12 month running average for global temperatures up until 2014 the PCM model was within +/- .01 degrees of what NASA was publishing in their LOTI table since the early 1960’s as shown in the next Chart. Further the back projection of the PCM plot matched historical records and global temperatures going back past the time of Christ. It should also be consider that geologically CO2 levels have reached levels many times that of the current 400 ppm without destroying the planet so the current hysteria over the current small numbers can only be explained by political science not real science.

page-5

The nest step in this analysis is to put all of the known data and projections into one Chart which will contain: NASA’s table LOTI global temperature estimates, NOAA’s actual CO2 values, the CO2 model projections, the PCM model global temperature plot, Hansen’s Scenario B 1988 global temperature plot, and lastly the IPCC AR5 A2 global temperature plot. With that done we can look at the results and try to make some sense of what is going on with the various arms of the federal government that are promoting that carbon based fuels be eliminated since they are responsible for the global temperature level  going up.  As previously started when the government pours money into the sciences the sciences respond with technical papers the support the governments views, this is what I call political science verses real science as was done prior to the 1980’s; money talks and BS walks as everyone on the street knows.  This Chart views a good overview of the current situation showing all the facts and all the projections.

This Chart contains no manipulation of the data and the only change that was made was to convert the NASA anomalies back to degrees Celsius to make it more readable to lay people.  This is only a change in units and has no bearing on the look.  A subject not broached here is that of the NASA homogenization process itself and the base period from 1950 to 1980. The portion in the black circle contains the NASA base period of 14.00 degrees Celsius and the reason it’s brought up here is that the Homogenization process causes the global temperatures to move around since the entire data base all the way back to 1880 is recalculated each month.  But since the base has to stay at 14.00 degrees Celsius the program must be set to not allow changes in that period of time. I’m sure the programmers have fun with that. Prior work here has shown how this creates a teeter totter effect with the data plots, some of which have recently been significant.

page-6

The next Chart will be a look at the period from 2010 to 2020 so we can see the detail of the past few years where a change in CO2 of only a few ppm has caused a major change in the global temperature way beyond anything previously shown in any published NASA data. There are two black ovals on the Chart one at the top of the Chart which is a black oval around the CO2 levels for 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and part of 2016 and it’s very obvious that there has been very little change, maybe 7 ppm or about 1.9%. Then at the bottom of the Chart is another black oval around the NASA global temperature levels for 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and part of 2016 and its very obvious that there has been a very large change, almost .45 degrees Celsius or about 3.1%. There has never been such a large increase in temperature from such a small increase in CO2.

By contrast the previous comparable period of the last part of 2010 through 2013 shows about the same increase for CO2 at 1.1% but no increase for global temperature but actually small decrease. Worse it appears that this current strange upward trend will continue as the values shown here are based on a 12 month moving average and the current values being published by NASA have been very high for the past 7 months and therefore I would expect the NASA plot to be well over 15.00 Celsius within a few months and certainly before the end of 2016.  Also in looking at the raw data for September 2015 and October 2015 there was a jump of almost .300 Celsius that is a very large number for a couple of months and as we have shown here in previous charts not reasonable at all and therefore a perfect example of political science.

page-7

In summary, the IPCC models were designed before a true picture of the world’s climate was understood. During the 1980’s and 1990’s CO2 levels were going up and the world temperature was also going up so there appeared to be correlation and causation. The mistake that was made was looking at only a ~20 year period when the real variations in climate all move in much longer cycles of decades and centuries.  Those other cycles can be observed in the NASA data but they were ignored for some reason.  By ignoring those trends and focusing only on CO2 the models will be unable to correctly plot global temperatures until they are fixed.

Lastly, the next chart shows what a plot of the PCM model, in yellow, would look like from the year 1400 to the year 2900. This plot matches reasonably well with recorded history and fits the current NASA-GISS table LOTI data, in red, very closely, despite homogenization.  I understand that this model is not based on physics but it is also not true curve fitting. It’s based on observed reoccurring patterns in the climate. These patterns can be modeled and when they are, you get a plot that works better than any of the IPCC’s GCM’s. If the conditions that create these patterns do not change and CO2 continues to increase to 800 ppm or even 1000 ppm than this model will work well into the foreseeable future.  150 years from now global temperatures will peak at around 15.750 to 16.000 C and then will be on the downside of the long cycle for the next ~500 years.

The overall effect of CO2 reaching levels of 1000 ppm or even higher will be about 1.50 C which is about the same as that of the long cycle.  The Green plot on the Chart shows the observed pattern with no change in CO2 from the pre-industrial era of ~280 ppm. CO2 cannot affect global temperatures more than 1.500 C +/- no matter what the ppm level of CO2is. The reason being that the CO2 sensitivity value is not 3.00 per doubling of CO2 but under 1.00 C per doubling of CO2 as shown in more current scientific work.

page-8

The purpose of this post is to make people aware of the errors inherent in the IPCC models so that they can be corrected.

The Obama administration’s “need” for a binding UN climate treaty with mandated CO2 reductions in Europe and America was achieved as predicted at the COP12 conference in Paris in December 2015. To support this endeavor NASA was forced to show ever increasing global temperatures that will make less and less sense based on observations and satellite data which will all be dismissed or ignored.  Within a few years the manipulation will be obvious even to those without knowledge in the subject, but by then it will be to late the damage to the reputation of science will have been done.

Sir Karl Raimund Popper (28 July 1902 – 17 September 1994) was an Austrian and British philosopher and a professor at the London School of Economics. He is considered one of the most influential philosophers for science of the 20th century, and he also wrote extensively on social and political philosophy. The following quotes of his apply to this subject.

If we are uncritical we shall always find what we want: we shall look for, and find, confirmations, and we shall look away from, and not see, whatever might be dangerous to our pet theories.

Whenever a theory appears to you as the only possible one, take this as a sign that you have neither understood the theory nor the problem which it was intended to solve.

… (S)cience is one of the very few human activities — perhaps the only one — in which errors are systematically criticized and fairly often, in time, corrected.

Technocracy the new Progressive Utopia

Part One

Barack H. Obama ran a Presidential campaign in 2008 based on Hope and Change which his supporters both White and Black assumed would be a new peaceful world without conflict and that there would be good jobs for everyone: and Obama got the Nobel peace prize just for the promise of that perfect world. Thomas More in his 1516 book on a perfect society called that kind of perfect society Utopia, which was also the name of the book, and that word has stuck ever since.  Eight years later we have no “real” jobs, society is in total disarray and we are on the brink of war with Russia; how could this be?  I would suggest that the result we actually have today is exactly what Obama and his supporters wanted to happen after he was elected President in 2008.  Remember he never did tell us what he was going to do, he only promised that he would fundamentally change the country.

Obama has been accused of being Muslin based on his early background and many of his actions while president and that could be true. However, more importantly he is also a Marxist/Communist, at heart, whom in their modern form are the global elites who are smart, educated and very, very wealthy and prefer to be called progressives. In Technocracy Rising a book published in 2015 and written by Patrick M. Wood who explains in great detail how the new world order (NWO) has formed from the ashes of three previously failed concepts which are: Communism, Socialism and Fascism. One could also add Islamism to this as well since all four isms require a very powerful central federal government to manage each of their visions of Utopia. Angelo M. Codevilla wrote an excellent book on those that want to rule us titled the Ruling Class which was publishing in 2010.

Although the vision of a Utopia is powerful, it is an illusion no different than a belief in a Heaven although at least Heaven can only be obtained after death by those that lead a good and moral life; while Utopia can be obtained in the here and now if only we would believe in our leaders who are our betters by their demonstrated superior abilities. Unfortunately this concept of Utopia is not possible since mankind is human and therefore by definition not perfect and worse we are very easily corrupted. Niccolo Machiavelli wrote probably one of the best works on those that desire power in The Prince published in 1513. Therefore to strive for Utopia is a fool’s game or worse a game played by only by those that want to rule but not be elected; the European Union (EU) was their first experiment in the NWO of technology based rule. The ruling body of the EU in Brussels is composed entirely of appointed people (best and the brightest) and not a single person that governs the EU is elected by the people. Perhaps this is the return to an aristocracy (monarchy) as discussed in the four stages of government in book VIII of the Republic written by Plato around 380 BC; so perhaps not much has changed in the past 2,400 years of human history.

Obama and his planned successor Hillary were the handpicked minions of the world cartel of the rich and powerful, i.e. George Soros and Bill Gates both documented members of the Technocracy. It was their task to complete the process of eliminating the U.S. Constitution and replacing it with a governing body similar to that installed in the EU. This was required because they needed total control of everything to make their vision of Utopia work and those that desired this had been at this task in earnest since the end of WW II through organizations such as the Trilateral Commission, the Council on Foreign Relations and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and their workhorse the Intergovernmental Panel Climate Change (IPCC) which were all established along with many other agencies in the last half of the twentieth century. Hillary, the closer, was picked to complete the transformation of the European and North American counties into the NWO started by Obama the good guy.

The transformation to a NWO might have worked if the cartel members were as smart as they thought they were but since their motives were more for personal gain then a true Utopia (they knew that Utopia was not possible) the personal motives drove the transformation too quickly and their transformation started to break down after 2009. This transformation process was actually predicted in the book The Fourth Turning published in 1997 by William Strauss and Neil Howe as the result of the Boomer generation, those born between 1946 and 1964, comprising about 76 million babies who started the process of retiring 60 some years later around 2006. This generation caused a great deal of conflict as they progressed through their lives and according to Strauss and Howe the views of the Boomers would totally change America, however what was left unsaid in the book was whether that change would be good or bad. What happened just as the Boomers started to enter college in the mid 60’s was to shape them forever and their legacy will be what happens as they become the elder statesmen/women of America and what path they put the rest of us on.

Before we can continue, this discussion we need more background specifically on Karl Marx and his work in trying to develop a better political system; unfortunately for hundreds of millions who have since died trying to implement his theories he forgot one thing, human nature. Marx was obviously a very intelligent person and saw injustice in Europe as the industrial revolution transformed society in the Nineteenth Century. His theory was that all value came from “labor” was valid but was also incomplete; this was not his fault as no one back then saw the technology revolution that was to come in the twentieth century. Marx wrote almost 3,000 pages explaining his theories in Capital Vol. I, Vol. II and Vol. III but he left out the most important part which is how his system would be governed, the actual form of the government system required to support Marx’s concept was never developed by him.

Those that followed Marx focused on the means to achieve Marx’s workers’ paradise, Utopia but were never able to establish a government that wasn’t a dictatorship to manage that Utopia and so every attempt at doing this has in the end failed. Focusing here, on America, the Boomers were strongly influenced by the progressive movement (those that believed in Communist principles) in the first half of the twentieth century and one in particular was Saul D. Alinsky who wrote Rules For Radicals published in 1971 which became the bible for the progressive movement after World War II. Alinsky developed the concept of Community Organizing of which Barry Sorrento later after he left Indonesia to become Barack H. Obama followed in Chicago on his path to the US Presidency

Another important concept was developed by two progressives Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven both at Columbia University which Obama was to attend prior to Harvard. The ideas of these two progressives was to become known as the Cloward-Piven Strategy first published in a May 1966 article in the liberal magazine The Nation titled “The Weight of the Poor:” In essence the strategy was to use the laws of society to bring society down so it could be remade using progressive principles. The idea was used very successfully in the early 70’s which almost bankrupted New York City in 1975 by getting everyone entitled to “welfare” to enroll in the available programs.

The last element to be used to try and fundamentally transform America was the takeover of the Environmental movement by the progressives after the U.S.S.R. (Soviet Union) was dissolved on December 26, 1991. Prior to the 90’s there was a legitimate cause to protect the environment from “real” pollution; however, in the early 90’s the progressives took over and changed the movement into protecting us from “imaginary” pollution using the Cloward-Piven Strategy to create a strawman war against Carbon Dioxide the very key to all life on the planet.

World Climate is a variable and always has been as anyone that studied the subject prior to the late 70’s early 80’s understood; further Carbon Dioxide which has now been ruled a pollutant by the U.S. Supreme Court first in 2007 and then again in 2009 is however an absolute requirement for life to exist on the planet and more is beneficial to life rather than less, further the current Carbon Dioxide levels in the Holocene geological epoch, which is what we are in now, are well below geological averages.

Part Two

On November 22, 1963 our President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas Texas by those I now believe were the people that were to become the New World Order (NWO) movement 20 some years later. The movement was actually formally started by President George H. W. Bush who signed UN Agenda 21 in 1992 for the United States and referred to it as the One World Government OWG. Then in 1993 President William J. Clinton signed Executive Order #12852 to create the President’s Council on Sustainable Development and with that order the progressive transformation of America was started.

Of course back then we couldn’t know any of that and it seemed the assassination was either from the mob or the Communists’ as we were led to believe by the media. But now looking back at that period what happened in 1963 when Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ), Kennedy’s VP, became President after Kennedy was assassinated was a series of events that would have dire consequences for the United States. These events started with the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution in 1964 which immediately escalated the low level conflict in Vietnam to a full scale war and which eventually caused the deaths of almost 60,000 American soldiers and gave us over 300,000 wounded to somewhat care for and forget, I was one of them. It also split the country into warring factions for generations.

Decades later when I read David Habersham’s The Best and the Brightest published in 1972 I first realized that intelligence alone was insufficient to make a good ruler and in fact could be an actual hindrance. The sad thing was we got nothing for this war except a lot of disillusioned citizens; so was this escalation in Vietnam only a distraction for what was to come next in 1965? When LBJ rammed through the U.S. Congress 87 pieces of legislation that were to totally change the makeup of the country, and not all for the good, as all the problems that we have now stemmed from what happened in 1964 and 1965.  The LBJ agenda designed to change America for the better contained four related but different objectives.

  • The first was called the “Great Society” with legislation upholding civil rights, public broadcasting, Medicare, Medicaid, aid to education, the arts, urban and rural development, and public services.
  • The second was the “War on Poverty” which contained Civil rights bills that banned racial discrimination in public facilities, interstate commerce, the workplace, and housing.
  • The third was the “Voting Rights Act” which banned certain requirements in southern states used to disenfranchise African Americans.
  • Lastly was the “Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965” where the country’s immigration system was reformed and all racial origin quotas were removed (replaced by national origin quotas).

All of these programs had some or maybe even a lot of merit but there were also consequences, some of them major, which were all ignored. The bottom line was this was way too much to do absorb at one time and so it went very bad over the next 50 years. The question that comes to mind now is how all could this major work could be put together in only a few months while LBJ was simultaneously assuming the office of the president and then having to run for election an additional few months later. Eighty Seven major pieces of legislation conceived written and passed in 1965. That is something that had never been done before or after.

Looking back we can see what the plan was, a total remake of our society, but back then it wasn’t obvious or we would have stopped it.  The devil that was in these programs was the fracturing of the single American culture into multiple sub cultures and as any student of history and political thought understands that is never good and is often fatal for those countries that try doing that. Montesquieu explains in his 1748 book The Spirit of the Laws the problems with multiple cultures or sentiments as they were then called within a single government. Further he implied that to change the form of the government the culture would need to be changed first. The progressives knew this and have done a very good job which maybe irreversible of changing American culture so they could get their NWO.

This was done primarily through two means that became prevalent in the early 90’s which were Political Correctness (PC) and Multiculturalism; although other destructive factors were also in play. The result was we eliminated the differences between good and bad so that no one would be hurt; there were no differences between people, sexes or cultures so no one was better than any other one. And at the same time we were told that we were not American’s we were White Americans, Black Americans, and Hispanic Americans etc. etc. which was very strange since this was the exact opposite of the teaching that we are all the same.

As bad as all this cultural change was it was not all that was being done to us as economists and politicians who thought they knew how everything worked (the best and the brightest) came up with what was obviously a Ponzi scheme that we could have an economy where everyone was college educated and blue collar work was almost eliminated and this could be done by shipping the dirty nasty blue collar work off to other places in the world for others to do the dirty work while we enjoyed the all benefits.  Besides being a totally insane concept how they ever thought this would work just shows just how twisted the thinking was of those in power, like George Soros who’s self-proclaimed best moment in his life was turning his fellow Jews into the German Nazi’s who were over running Europe during the early stages of WW II. This twisted man made billions by shorting counties currencies and causing them economic distress for his personal gain. He is now one of the driving forces in the NWO to include heavily financing the Democrat party and other groups including many Republicans’.

The economists and politicians’ that concocted this scheme based the logic on the early stages of the industrial revolution where we transitioned from agriculture to production which created the middle class. After WW II and the Korean conflict technology was taking off and what was envisioned was a “service” based economy where, in essence, everyone was to be employed as white collar college educated. There is no way this was ever possible and I even wrote my economics theses in collage on this subject in 1965 which was that as technology advanced there would be a dislocation in the work force as fewer and fewer people would be able to do the complex tasks. Therefore, work needed to be provided in proportion to those able to do it or fewer and fewer people would be supporting more and more people, that didn’t or couldn’t work, which is the Ponzi scheme they created. It all sounded good as the U.S. Government financed the shift of manufacturing to Japan, China and India by selling them U.S. Government securities creating a trading system by which they send us cheap goods and we send them the jobs (means) to make them. I’m sure you the reader can see how well that worked.

United we stand, divided we fall used to be what we were about in America and the country grew by assimilating a diverse range of people that came here to be free, work and raise their families, without any federal assistance. And prior to the changes instituted by LBJ in 1965 we were much more one culture than multiple cultures and the result was that we were the shining light on the hill or maybe more the ones that went to the moon and back in 1969 a feat still not equaled 47 years later. But while we basked in our accomplishments we didn’t understand that our very roots, what it meant to be an American, were being chopped up and destroyed on the altar of equality of outcome and income redistribution which are the very heart of progressivism.

The result of this insanity was that by 2015, fifty years after being started by LBJ, every institution that had been built and rebuilt over 5,000 years of progress by mankind had been totally destroyed and the country was collapsing both culturally i.e. marriage and family and economically i.e. fewer good jobs mounting debt and the loss of much of our national sovereignty. Watch this U-Tube video from Bill Whittle for what the progressive politicians’ did to the city of Detroit, Google THE MOST SHAMEFUL INJUSTICE as an example of what I’m saying here.

Part Three

In the book the Fourth Turning the greed of the Boomers, they were first called the “me generation”, was likely to cause a second American civil war as they bankrupted the country with their plush retirement programs. Government employees at all levels along with teachers and some Police and Fire in certain states retire with pensions worth more per year than they were making before their retirement. Of course this is not all of them but it is a big enough group that it is a serious national problem today, and not limited to America as the EU has the same problem and it’s even more serious there than here.

The next two generations that follow the Boomers, Generation X and the Millennials’ were left far behind as the Boomers ran rough shod over the economy and society taking everything they could for themselves. Wall Street which financed the Boomers that broke up the manufacturing base and shipped the ‘good’ jobs to Asia did that for personal gain, the large contingent of boomers that used drugs established the drug lords in Mexico to supply them, the boomers running today’s business want cheap labor so they want open borders. But the worst of them went into politics and both Democrats and Republicans (the best and the brightest), conspired to create either an Oligarchy or possibly even a Monarchy in which they could rule the rest of us. The Boomers that went in this direction like the Clintons and the Bushes knew that they had to change the culture. The work of President Johnson in 1965 gave them everything that they needed and as the Boomers graduated from college many of them went into teaching and so by the 90’s they had coopted a large portion of the education system and were helped by the newly created Department of Education in doing so with federal funds that were available only if federal rules were followed.

In the U.S. Constitution the federal government was specifically banded from direct involvement in the states by the Tenth Amendment; but the federal government could tax the people so that increased taxes could then be used to bribe the states to follow rules they could not dictate directly with the peoples own money. There are only a few colleges left, i.e. Hillsdale that have resisted this process which means only the wealthy can go there. What happens now is that whenever a state balks at a federal regulation the federal government tells them they will stop highway funds or education funds or any of the other funds the feds supply. The power of the purse!

Those that betrayed us reside mostly in Washington, the 100 Senators, the 435 Representatives, the President, the Vice President and the 9 Judges of the Supreme Court and they decided they wanted to be rulers, not elected officials, beholding to we the citizens.  These traitors don’t work for us they work for and get their power from those with the real power of huge wealth and money, the special interests. Those super elites are like Bill Gates that are multi-billionaires and to be in the top ten you need to have more than $40 billion while the other 1,816 with only a mere billion to $39 billion mostly don’t even count. These are the NWO people that want to rule us.

Donald Trump understood what was happening to our country and knew that we were at a turning point in history as predicted by Strauss and Howe in their book The Fourth Turning and he saw that if Hillary got elected the result would be very bad and so he decided to stop the change or at minimum control the change. Trump knew this because he could see what was happening in the 2010, 2012 and 2014 elections as there was an obvious movement building for change as the public no longer trusted the politicians. This was not just in American movement it was all of Western Civilization as the BREXIT election in England showed and so trump declared his candidacy and joined the movement. Those of us that had formed the movement first as the Tea Party immediately adopted him as the leader of the movement as we could see that he understood us.

Trump ran a campaign targeted at the movement Tea Party plus  and used the media to reach us despite the all-out effort to stop him by the Democrats, many Republicans, the national media and the Federal Government and since he had won the citizens he was not beatable. Is trump perfect, of course not, he is human, but as I see it none of the others even see the problem and further are not capable of making changes even if they wanted to.  The reason they are not capable is that to make any major change requires legislation be passed in the US Congress and since neither the Republicans nor the Democrats have the votes to do this it will require a super negotiator which means Trump who is the best in the country.  So I voted for him as did enough others that he is going to be the next president since he is the only one that actually seeks to put all of the broken pieces of America together again and has the necessary skill set to do it for us.

China “Shocked” By Navarro Appointment, As Trump Team Proposes 10% Import Tariff

Tyler Durden's picture

As the FT first reported yesetrday, in a dramatic development for Sino-US relations, Trump picked Peter Navarro, a Harvard-trained economist and one-time daytrader, to head the National Trade Council, an organization within the White House to oversee industrial policy and promote manufacturing. Navarro, a hardcore China hawk, is the author of books such as “Death by China” and “Crouching Tiger: What China’s Militarism Means for the World” has for years warned that the US is engaged in an economic war with China and should adopt a more aggressive stance, a message that the president-elect sold to voters across the US during his campaign.

In the aftermath of Navarro’s appointment, many were curious to see what China’s reaction would be, and according to the FT, Beijin’s response has been nothing short of “shocked.” To wit:

The appointment of Peter Navarro, a campaign adviser, to a formal White House post shocked Chinese officials and scholars who had hoped that Mr Trump would tone down his anti-Beijing rhetoric after assuming office.

“Chinese officials had hoped that, as a businessman, Trump would be open to negotiating deals,” said Zhu Ning, a finance professor at Tsinghua University in Beijing. “But they have been surprised by his decision to appoint such a hawk to a key post.”

Shortly after the announcement of Navarro’s appointment, the US Office of the Trade Representative yesterday put added more fuel to trade tensions with Chine when it put Alibaba, China’s biggest e-commerce platform, back on its “notorious markets” blacklist of companies accused of being involved in peddling fake goods.

Cui Fan at the China Society of WTO Studies, a think-tank affiliated with China’s commerce ministry, warned that Beijing would respond to any unilateral action by the incoming Trump administration. “China is preparing itself for US trade actions,” he said. “China will respond with counteractions of its own.”

China has found itself on the receiving end of diplomatic chaos for much of the past three weeks, starting with Trump accepting a congratulatory phone call from Taiwan president Tsai Ing-wen in early December, which defied almost four decades of precedent. It only escalated from there, and culminated with the confiscation of a US marine drone last week, which however, China promptly returned to the US earlier this week.

Trump’s recent rhetoric has given China cause for concern: since the call with Ms Tsai, he has publicly criticized China’s currency policies and island fortifications in the South China Sea. He has questioned Washington’s commitment to the One China policy, and also angered Beijing when he suggested that the confiscated navy drone was “stolen” by a Chinese ship.

Wang told the People’s Daily: “We will lead the way amid a shake-up in global governance and take hold of the situation amid international chaos. We will protect our interests amid intense and complex games.”

Meanwhile, He Weiwen, deputy director of the Center for China and Globalisation, told the FT that Beijing could retaliate against US exports and restrict market access for US companies.

* * *

In short, China is angry, and may get its wish to retaliate soon, because as CNN reports (take it with a “real fake news” grain of salt) Trump’s transition team is discussing a proposal to impose tariffs as high as 10% on imports. A senior Trump transition official said Thursday the team is mulling up to a 10% tariff aimed at spurring US manufacturing, which could be implemented via executive action or as part of a sweeping tax reform package they would push through Congress.

According to CNN, Reince Priebus floated a 5% tariff on imports in meetings with key Washington players last week. But the senior transition official who spoke to CNN Thursday on the condition of anonymity said the higher figure is now in play.

Such a move would, if confirmed, would likely send the US hurtling into a trade war with other countries, especially China which is already “shocked” by recent Trump action, while sending the cost of consumer goods in the US even higher. “And it’s causing alarm among business interests and the pro-trade Republican establishment.”

The senior transition official quoted by CNN also said the transition team is beginning to find “common ground” with House Speaker Paul Ryan and Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady, pointing in particular to the border adjustment tax measure included in House Republicans’ “Better Way” tax reform proposal, which would disincentivize imports through tax policy. The border tax, as explained here two days ago, would also lead to trade wars with key trading partners as it is the functional equivalent of a USD devaluation and is represents yet another tax on foreign exports.

Curbing free trade was a central element of Trump’s campaign. He promised to rip up the North American Free Trade Agreement with Mexico and Canada. He also vowed to take a tougher line against other international trading partners, almost always speaking harshly of China but often including traditional US allies such as Japan in his complaint that American workers get the short end of the stick under current trade practices.

And now, if CNN is correct, Trump may be about to follow through with it. The question on everyone’s lips, then, is with China having repeatedly warned it will retaliate if and when the US launched the first salvo in what will clearly be an escalating trade war, just how will China escalate.  One potential way is through its holdings of $1.1 trillion in US Treasuries and various other US assets.

As we reported earlier today, a SAFE official told reporters at a briefing that while China will make “tactical adjustments” on its US debt holdings, Beijing’s long-term investment view on US debt has not changed, and that U.S. Treasuries are China’s long-term strategic investment targets. That, too, may also change quickly.

Trump Names Kellyanne Conway Counselor To The President

Tyler Durden's picture

President-elect Donald Trump announced on Thursday morning that Kellyanne Conway, his former campaign manager who stepped in halfway through the presidential campaign to boost Trump’s victory chances, will serve as counselor to the president when he takes office denying speculation that Conway would have no role in the incoming administration.

According to the statement released by Trump’s transition team, Conway will continue her role as a close adviser to the president-elect, working with senior leadership to “effectively message and execute the Administration’s legislative priorities and actions.”

“Kellyanne Conway has been a trusted advisor and strategist who played a crucial role in my victory. She is a tireless and tenacious advocate of my agenda and has amazing insights on how to effectively communicate our message. I am pleased that she will be part of my senior team in the West Wing,” Trump said.

“A Trump presidency will bring real change to Washington and to Americans across this great nation. I am humbled and honored to play a role in helping transform the movement he has led into a real agenda of action and results,” Conway added.

As the Hill adds, Conway previously turned down a position as the president-elect’s press secretary, and was rumored to be taking an external position working for the Trump administration. “My family is going to move to Washington D.C. and I will either stay outside and run the political super structure or I will go into the West Wing and take a position right next to the president where I feel like I can serve him in the way I advise him off-camera, which is most of the advice and counsel I give,” she said on Tuesday, hinting at a her new role as a counselor.

Conway was the first female campaign manager of either major party to win a presidential general election.

College Student Earns 4.0 GPA, Then Drops Out: “You Are Being Scammed!”

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Lance Schuttler via TheMindUnleashed.com,

Billy Williams just finished his first college semester and did so with the all-impressive 4.0 GPA. Instead of celebrating his accomplishments with friends and family, he decided to drop out of college entirely.

willson

Billy made a facebook post that is now going viral in which he explains his reasoning for dropping out:

“Now that I’ve finished my first semester I think it’s safe to say… FUCK COLLEGE. Now before all you of you go batshit crazy… I have a few points to make.

1. Yes I have dropped out after finishing my first semester (with a 4.0 GPA). And it’s one of the best choices I’ve ever made. Not because I am averse to learning, but actually the exact opposite.

2. YOU ARE BEING SCAMMED. You may not see it today or tomorrow, but you will see it some day. Heck you may have already seen it if you’ve been through college. You are being put thousands into debt to learn things you will never even use. Wasting 4 years of your life to be stuck at a paycheck that grows slower than the rate of inflation. Paying $200 for a $6 textbook. Being taught by teacher’s who have never done what they’re teaching. Average income has increased 5x over the last 40 years while cost of college has increased 18x. You’re spending thousands of dollars to learn information you won’t ever even use just to get a piece of paper. I once even had an engineer tell me “I learned more in my first 30 days working than in my 5 years of college.” What does that tell you about this system? There are about a million more ways you’re being scammed into this.. just watch the video i’m gonna comment if you want to see more.

3. Colleges are REQUIRING people to spend money taking gen. ed. courses to learn about the quadratic formula (and other shit they will never use) when they could be giving classes on MARRIAGE and HOW TO DO YOUR TAXES.

4. Gosh there are so many more reasons I could add, but just comment if you disagree or have reasons to add. I’d love to add to the discussion. TAG a friend in college, Tag your parents, share this if you agree, disagree. Let’s just talk about it. Heck post a picture of yourself flipping off something you think is unjust in our society.”

Billy is right too that the price of college continues to soar.

Ray Franke, a professor of Education at the University of Massachusetts, Boston said:

“If you look at the long-term trend of college tuition, it has been rising almost six percent above the rate of inflation. That’s brought immense pressure from the media and general public, asking whether college is still worth it.

In 2015, Harvard’s annual tuition and fees (not including room and board) would cost a person $45,278, which is more than 17 times the 1971-72 cost. If annual increases of tuition had simply tracked the inflation rate since 1971, 2016’s tuition would be just $15,189.

According to CNBC, college enrollment peaked in 2011, and has been decreasing ever since. This is no doubt in part to a family’s ability to pay the tuition, room and board and other related expenses. For example, in order to pay for a year of college at Harvard today would take the median household income nearly one year of paychecks. Back in 1971, it would have taken about 13 weeks of paychecks per the household median income.

Today the student debt is over $1.26 trillion dollars with over 44 million Americans in debt from student loans. 2016’s graduates on average are over $36,000 dollars in debt, which is up 6% from just one year ago.

What can be done to alleviate this situation? Why do banks get bailed out (2008 Lehman crisis) for cheating the world, while students must continue to pay a debt? Why is a private institution (The Federal Reserve) in charge of this nation’s money and finances? How will students continue to be able to go to college when the price continues to skyrocket as the federal minimum wage stays stuck at $7.25 an hour? At some point soon, the masses won’t take it anymore from the banking cartel. The education system is in for some major changes very soon.

Hiding Behind the Curtain – Best of Both Worlds

behind-curtain-hiding

QUESTION: Marty; I was watching Fox News and on the same show they had Steve Forbes and Steven Moore. I remembered you were friends with Steve Moore when he was at the Cato Institute. There was talk the two of you were going to do something together. Both are in with Trump along with Nigel Farage. My Question is, obviously you also know all the people advising Trump. Are you going to be an adviser as well?

HG

skeletons_in-closetANSWER: Yes, I know Steve Moore. Yes, we used to communicate regularly. No, I will not be an adviser to Trump. I would be glad to answer questions behind the curtain and offer access to our computer system forecast if they are serious. But I would never take a position in front of the curtain. I have advised far too many governments around the world and major multinational companies. They would turn that into some sort of treason in a Senate confirmation hearing or say that I advised Japanese and German auto manufacturers and turn that into treason.

Just not interested. Behind the curtain works better. I do what I do because trying to move even a pebble inside government takes on a huge effort. It is far easier to move mountains from the outside than from the inside.

KOMMONSENTSJANE – SOBERING STATISTICS – EDUCATIONAL MONEY BEING TOTALLY WASTED

This from an Oregon Resident…Sobering

This is so sobering and a classic example of just how our hard earned money being used to hopefully educate our children is being totally wasted. Our High schools have failed to teach our children civics and history and when they reach college they are being influenced by equally uneducated minds, products of the 60’s & 70’s who have never really experienced any true hardships and have the mind-set that the government or society “owes” them just because they exist. This MUST change or this country is in DEEP TROUBLE!

*************************

The following was received from an Oregon Resident who has concerns for our country.

While I was getting a coffee, I overheard 7 young people (22-26 years
old, 5 males, 2 female) who have been protesting in downtown Portland
the last two nights.

I told them I was doing research and…
