On the Addiction to Cell Phones

Post By Paul Eidelberg

It has been reported that 66 percent of Americans are addicted to their cell phones, which suggests they are bonded to these electronic devices.

This report struck me as most disturbing. It suggests not only a pervasive sense of insecurity, but also of “individualistic loneliness.”

“Individualistic loneliness” is inevitable in a mass, technological society. This loneliness is magnified by the breakdown of the family on the one hand, and by the eclipse of God on the other.

Small wonder that same-sex marriage has was sanctified by the U.S. Supreme Court. Since the Progressive Era, the Court has been an engine of anti-traditionalism, of a normless freedom, of a leveling egalitarianism, hence of skepticism and atheism – all of which magnifies insecurity and individualistic loneliness.

Nietzsche saw this in the last quarter of the 19th century, at the pinnacle of atomistic individualism.  Never, he said, was the world so lacking in love.

Love begins in the family, and there is no greater enemy of the family than the ever-encroaching State and its consortium of experts, the university.

The ascendancy of the state – of statism – begins in the 19th century. It applies to the socialist or welfare state as well as to the fascist state. And what was Nazism if not National Socialism?

Statism is the goal of the Obama administration. Witness his pro-Marxist orientation.

Marxism has much in common with Islam. Both reject the sovereign national state. Both are expansionist; both reject international borders; both are based on the primacy of force or coercion in contradistinction to the primacy of reason and moral suasion. And both can only be overcome by violence.

The cell phone makes countless people feel active when in fact it renders them passive. It is the ultimate democratic instrument, hence utterly destructive of deference, without which there is no bold and creative leadership

Today’s Moral Crisis: Genuine versus Decadent Liberalism

Post by Prof. Paul Eidelberg

We all know that moral decay is permeating what is now called “post-Christian” Europe. Our best informed commentators know that this decay has been propagated for many decades by European universities steeped in the doctrine of moral relativism, which denies the existence of any moral norms or standards for judging what is good or bad, right or wrong. This moral relativism is now rampant in the United States, where anti-American academics are corrupting our youth and are creating a moral vacuum diametrically opposed to genuine American liberalism.

Genuine or classical liberalism made America the greatest nation on earth. This liberalism is rooted in America’s foundational document, the Declaration of Independence, the document that derives morality not from the changing wills and interests of minorities and majorities but from the eternal “Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God.”

That was normative liberalism, not normless or post-modern liberalism.  Normative liberalism differs profoundly from the normless or pseudo liberalism that has long been brainwashing Americans, including Americans who have become our opinion makers and decision makers. Normless liberalism is devoid of rational and ethical constraints. Indeed, this pseudo-liberalism is a mental disorder. It the enormous increase of Americans suffering from anxiety, alienation, and related mental maladies, as discussed in my essay “The Malaise of Modern Psychology” (Journal of Psychology, Vol. 126, No. 2, March 1992), and more recently in An American Political Scientist in Israel (2010).

I call this normless liberalism “Demophrenia,” because it is most prevalent in decayed liberal democracies, including Israel, which displays a high incidence of political schizophrenia. The negative symptoms of this schizophrenia is prominent among Israeli Prime Ministers, indicated as follows:

(1) Escapism [note that their policy of “territory or peace” is in fact a refusal to take Islam’s bellicose ideology seriously;

(2) Apathy [note their milquetoast attitude toward Arab butchery;

(3) Depersonalization [note their avoidance personal accountability];

(4)  Stereotypic Behavior [note their fixation on the failed and fatal policy of “land for peace”];

(5) Lack of self-esteem [note how these PMs grovel before world opinion];

(6) Irrational emphasis on the efficacy of reason or persuasion against an Islamic ideology rooted in the primacy of force and coercion.

Having already enlarged on the mental disorder of liberalism-cum-demophrenia, let me reiterate some remarks in my book, American Exceptionalism (Israel-America Renaissance Institute 2012). What I am about to say should be pondered by Israeli leaders who, like their American counterparts, need to revive their ancient faith in the Bible of Israel, whose moral standards constitute the foundation of American greatness, nay, of American Exceptionalism.

Americans need to be reminded that liberal education in colonial America, which was profoundly influenced by the Bible of Israel, extolled human greatness and condemned human wickedness. It seems to have been forgotten that when ethical and intellectual monotheism reigned in America, freedom was not living as you like, and religion was not a mental straitjacket, which is why Alexis Tocqueville was struck by America’s harmonious combination of political and religious freedom.

This happy state of affairs produced liberal gentlemen who could be friends despite their differences. They could be friends because what gentlemen have in common is more significant than their differences. And what was more significant to eighteenth-century Americans than the ethical and intellectual monotheism of the Bible of Israel?

It was this monotheism that nurtured the civility manifested in the debates of the Constitutional Convention. We see such civility in the Declaration of Independence, which speaks of “a decent respect to the opinions of mankind.” Evident here is the language of gentlemen and of classical liberalism.

The religious tolerance exemplified by America’s monotheistic society did not extend tolerance to intolerance – certainly not one that threatens public order or the laws of the Constitution [like Islam’s Sharia].

Nor did America’s religious tolerance preclude criticism of any religion or pseudo-religious creed. Jefferson spoke of “false religions.” Far more significant, ponder the case of People v. Ruggles (8 Johns, R. 290 N.Y. 1811), in which New York’s Chief Justice Chancellor James Kent, the great commentator on American law, delivered the opinion of the Court:

The offence charged is that the defendant did wickedly, maliciously, and blasphemously utter, in the presence and hearing of divers good and Christian people, these … scandalous, malicious, wicked and blasphemous words, to wit, “Jesus Christ was a bastard, and his mother must be a whore;” and the single question is, whether this be a public offence by the law of the land.…Such words, uttered with such a disposition, were an offence at common law. [Cases cited, wherein] the court were careful to say, that they did not intend to include disputes between learned men upon particular controverter points….

Such offences have always been considered independent of any religious establishment or the rights of the church. They are treated as affecting the essential interests of civil society… We stand equally in need, now as formerly, of all the moral discipline, and of those principles of virtue, which help to bind society together. The people of this state, in common with the people of this country, profess the general doctrines of Christianity, as the rule of their faith and practice; and to scandalize the author of these doctrines is not only, in a religious point of view, extremely impious, but, even in respect to the obligations due to society, is a gross violation of decency and good order….

The free, equal, and undisturbed, enjoyment of religious opinion, whatever it may be, and free and decent discussions on any religious subject, is granted and secured; but to revile, with malicious and blasphemous contempt, the religion professed by almost the whole community, is an abuse of that right. Nor are we bound, by any expressions in the Constitution, as some have strangely supposed, either not to punish at all, or to punish indiscriminately the like attacks upon the religion of Mahomet or of the grand Lama; and for this plain reason, that the case assumes that we are a Christian people, and the morality of the country is deeply engrafted upon Christianity, and not upon the doctrines or worship of those impostors.… (emphasis added).

Though the constitution has discarded religious establishments, it does not forbid judicial cognizance of those offences against religion and morality which have no reference to any such establishment, or to any particular form of government, but are punishable because they strike at the root of moral obligation, and weaken the security of the social ties.

A unanimous court agreed with Chancellor Kent’s ruling. Moreover, Kent’s position was later affirmed by the United States Supreme Court in the case of Vidal v. Girard’s Executors, 43 U.S. 2 How. 127 (1844). Justice Joseph Story, esteemed as a “father of American Jurisprudence” and appointed to the Supreme Court by James Madison, delivered the court’s unanimous opinion. He said, in part: “Christianity … is not to be maliciously and openly reviled and blasphemed against, to the annoyance of believers or the injury of the public.” Nor is this all. Justice Story’s position on the First Amendment virtually extols Christianity. In his celebrated Commentary on Constitution of the United States (1840), he writes:

We are not to attribute this prohibition of a national religious establishment [in the First Amendment] to an indifference to religion in general, and especially to Christianity (which none could hold in more reverence than the framers of the Constitution)…. Probably, at the time of the adoption of the Constitution, and of the [first] Amendment to it now under consideration, the general, if not the universal, sentiment in America was, that Christianity ought to receive encouragement from the State so far as was not incompatible with the private rights of conscience and the freedom of religious worship. Any attempt to level all religions, and to make it a matter of state policy to hold all in utter indifference, would have created universal disapprobation, if not universal indignation.

To substantiate the arguments of Chancellor Kent and Justice Story, let us mention Fisher Ames (1758-1808), a Harvard graduate. Mr. Ames, who was elected president of Harvard in 1804 but declined the position because of ill-health, is regarded as one of America’s “forgotten founding fathers.” Ames was an outspoken supporter of the Bible’s central role in all of education.

As a first-session congressman he said, “Should not the Bible regain the place it once held as a schoolbook? Its morals are pure, its examples are captivating and noble.”  It was Fisher Ames who suggested the wording of the First Amendment, which was adopted by the House of Representatives: “Congress shall make no law establishing religion, or to prevent the free exercise thereof, or to infringe the rights of conscience.” In its final form the first amendment to the United States Constitution reads, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

Before proceeding, consider only the religious clause of the First Amendment: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” We see here that Congress – hence the national government – is prohibited from establishing a national religion. It is not prohibited from enacting laws affecting religion, so long as those laws do not prevent the “free exercise thereof.”

To the contrary, it is the constitutional duty of Congress to protect the free exercise of religion. Nothing in the First Amendment refers to “separation of church and state.” Neither the word “separation” nor the word “church” nor the word “state” appears in the First Amendment. The Founding Fathers, including Jefferson, fully understood that the purpose of the First Amendment was to protect rather than prevent public religious expression, as is clearly evident in the 200-year chronology of religious affirmations enumerated [and elsewhere documented].

That chronology makes nonsense of the “separation of church and state” dogma intoned by secularists. It was one of many instances of judicial despotism to prohibit a student from reading his Bible during his free time or even to open the Bible in school. (Gerki v. Platzer, 1989). As outrageous, it is now unconstitutional for a classroom library to contain books that deal with Christianity, or for a teacher to be seen with a personal copy of the Bible at school. (Roberts v. Madigan 1990).

In Jefferson’s famous letter to the Danbury Baptists of January 1, 1802, in which he thanked them for their “kind prayers” upon his election to the presidency, assured them that the free exercise of their religion was an inalienable right, there was a “wall of separation between church and state” that would prevent the (new) government from interfering with or hindering the free exercise of their religious activities. It was not until the mid-twentieth century that Jefferson’s “wall of separation” phrase was tendentiously extracted from his letter – by no means a dictum of any court – to strike down as unconstitutional any public act or endorsement of any written or spoken word, or even silent meditation, that could be construed to have religious—but especially Christian—significance!

What is more, the term “religion” has been so debased that it includes not only atheism and satanic cults, but any personal belief or lifestyle. This makes a mockery of the words and deeds of the statesmen who exalted Christianity since the days of George Washington and who traced the blessings of America to that religion.

Unless this degradation is arrested, America will become, like Europe, a post-Christian country. What is more, the resulting spiritual vacuum will be filled by nihilism and the totalitarianism of Islam propagated by a thousand mosques across the land. This would be the deadly consequences of replacing normative or classical liberalism with normless or contemporary relativism—the reigning mental disorder of our time.

The New World Order movement is cloaked in many sub organizations i.e. UN Agenda 21, Common Core which together encompass every aspect of a persons life from birth to death. With the technology available to us today Orwell’s 1984 would be a paradise of freedom. And it will not be much longer when the freedom of the web is gone!

Islamic teaching doesn’t allow a Muslim to Support any form of Government except the Will of Allah as taught by Mohammad

So the Question is Can a good Muslim be a good American? –
Whether or not you like Dr. Ben Carson, this information is what the media ought to be reading to see that he, Dr. Carson, was right in his remarks about a Muslim being president.
Read and Consider what is written.
Food for thought.
This is interesting.  From an individual who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years.
Can a good Muslim be a good American?
This question was forwarded to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia
for 20 years. The following is his reply:
Theologically – no.
Because his allegiance is to Allah, The moon god of Arabia.
Religiously – no.
Because no other religion is accepted by His Allah except Islam.
(Quran,2:256)(Koran)
Scripturally – no.
Because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Quran.
Geographically – no.
Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day.
Socially – no.
Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.
Politically – no.
Because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, the great Satan.
Domestically – no.
Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him. (Quran 4:34 )
Intellectually – no.
Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.
Philosophically – no.
Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression.
Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist.
Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.
Spiritually – no.
Because when we declare ‘one nation under God,’
The Christian’s God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as Heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in the Quran’s 99 excellent names.
Therefore, after much study and deliberation…
Perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both ‘good’ Muslims and ‘good’ Americans.Call it what you wish it’s still the truth. You had better believe it.
The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future. The religious war is bigger than we know or understand!
Footnote: The Muslims have said they will destroy us from within.
SO FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.
THIS SHOULD ROLL ALL OVER THE U.S.

Bubble Bubble Where is the Bubble

Bubble Bubble Where is the Bubble

DJIND-W 9-23-2015

It is fascinating that when I warn of anything using the word “CRASH” newspapers immediate report it as I am forecasting a crash in the stock market. This demonstrates that there is no consideration that government can also crash and burn – the perfect example of 100% confidence. Yes, if this week simply closes on the Dow below 16280, then we can be looking at that slingshot move I have warned about where in one year, we have a crash and a swing to the upside to new highs. These type of events are the ultimate mind game, but that is how they destroy the majority. As for those who write asking which investment will be safe – the answer is NONE.

SV1919-YWhile those who distort the events of the Great Depression to sell gold or whatever, keep in mind that commodities peaked in 1919 and bottomed WITH stocks in 1932. Real Estate peaked in 1927 followed by bonds when the Fed cut rates to try to help Europe, then everything reversed and stocks soared in 1929 and then crashed and burned into 1932 bottoming with commodities.

There was NO SINGLE INVESTMENT left standing – ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. So why the charlatans are trying to sell you newsletter with promises of if you just bought this letter you will make 20,000%, keep in mind this is a period of survival we are entering – not wild speculation. If you do not understand the nature of the beast, the beast will have you for lunch.

DJFOR-W 9-23-2015

So what we have to grasp here is that this is a well organized collapse. Each sector will collapse and in turn set in motion the next. If we get this week-end closing below 16280, then we may be headed for a retest of the August low going into October.

This will be the most difficult period ahead to actually forecast so pay attention. We are entering a period of chaos that BEGINS with 2015.75, it does not end there with some crash. THIS IS BEGINNING not the END.

WorldEconomy

Remember, if the stocks decline into 2015.75, that should push more and more capital into government bonds completing the BUBBLE. This is by no means a BUBBLE in stocks, commodities, or the dollar. This is a peak in GOVERNMENT. This is not even a Kondratieff Wave based upon commodities. This is the 309.6 year cycle in government and unfortunately, the other side of 2015.75 is not looking very pretty. This not about just the collapse of Europe. This is the collapse of Western forms of government that aids the shift in the financial capital of world to China by 2032. These shifts in global economic trends are measured in hundreds of years and unfortunately, we have a front row seat. It’s Just Time.

The Future Rests in the Hands of the Youth

Past-Now-Future

QUESTION: Hi mr. Armstrong,

I’m aware of your blog for almost a year and try to daily follow your posts. I’m from the Netherlands and also over here government and other officials try to make the people believe that we’re recovering from the economic crisis. There is no mention given about a coming debt crisis.
I as 23 year old student worrying about my future. Classmates and friends experience hard times to find jobs and start a family. In these times it is almost impossible to find a job paying a non slavery salary. Let alone the recent requirements to get a mortgage.
My question to you: how to deal with these developments in these turbulent times? What can i, as student with minimal savings, do to ‘survive’ the coming sovereign debt crisis and to life a fulfilling live?
Just go on with your posts! You’re opening a lot of eyes worldwide.
Best regards,
PV

ANSWER: I have met with students in Paris and throughout Europe. The politicians cannot understand that they are destroying your future. All they can see is their need to retain power, but the high levels of taxes are so burdensome that they are preventing the creation of new jobs. The zero to negative interest rates has resulted in the elderly still working because they cannot afford to retire.

We are reaching the end of this noose around our neck that was placed there by Marx. It is interesting how in the USA they call me a “conservative”, yet in France, they call me a “liberal” because I am against authoritative socialism. The labels change, but the message remains the same.

Why did Marxism collapse? Because government cannot create anything new for that requires the freedom to act and imagine which is exclusively an individual trait. Government creates nothing. They are the great destroyer. Companies grow and become bureaucratic. In the process, they terminate the creative genius upon which all companies are found. A creative person is a NON-CONFORMIST. Consequently, they do not suffer regulation and bureaucratic systems. So in come the lawyers and the accountants who then eject the creativity from the board, exactly as Apple got rid of Steve Jobs. Once the creative person is gone, the company begins its slow death. At first, they buy startups and pay huge money to gain creativity. In the end, bureaucracy kills the corporation for the very same reason government destroys the economy and shrinks it, no matter what they pretend.

The is just one aspect that Marx could not see for there is no difference between a corrupt bureaucratic CEO running a company and a corrupt bureaucratic politician. Hence, socialism cannot survive for it lowers the living standard of the whole.

It is nice that we have social programs, but that came at a huge cost. Families were once tight groups for your children were your retirement since they took care of their parents in old age. Today, children no longer save to take care of their parents — that’s government’s job. Consequently, Eastern Europe and Asia (excluding Japan) are far better situated to cope with the future for they do not rely upon government. The distrust of government in former communist areas is many times as much of what you will find in Europe or North America, and indeed the majority rather than a minority. This will greatly insulate those regions from the worst decline compared to Europe and North America.

What you need to do is take back government. You cannot create a solution with the same line of thinking that created the current mess. The future belongs to the youth. Understand the devil you are dancing with. It is time to become politically active and challenge the establishment for that is the only way to save the future.

Many people do not appreciate what Thomas Jefferson defined as part of the entire No Taxation Without Representation issue. True, this began by the fact that taxes were not a right of the king and could only be authorized with the CONSENT of the people, which was given by their REPRESENTATIVES in Parliament.  The “representation” was originally by the people for these representatives were NOT career politicians. We have lost ALL representation for politicians have become the career bureaucrats and thus exempt themselves from most of the laws they inflict upon the rest of us. So once again the system has evolved into career politicians whereby we have lost all real representation transforming us into the property of the state to be herded like cattle and taxed to sustain the bureaucrats. This was PRECISELY what led to the fall of Rome. As the bureaucrats (army) were not paid, they would nominal a new emperor and anyone who opposed saw their cities sacked and their inhabitants killed. This would be like Chicago invading New York because the employees of Illinois were broke.

While we may not yet be at that stage in the game since money is intangible for now, thanks to Marx, we are targeting the rich. Of course There was Maximinus I (235-238AD) whose reign lasted about 3.14 years. He simply declared ALL wealth within the Roman Empire belonged to the state (him) and paid rewards for anyone who gave information about someone hiding wealth precisely as governments do today – Germany & France paying bribes to Swiss Bankers to destroy their own country, US International Revenue Service paying rewards for reporting anyone not paying their taxes to such informants all precisely as Maximinis I operated.

Today, Jefferson-Sigwe once again have taxation without representation for those in office never represent the people but only government interest. But Jefferson added another dimension. Jefferson saw a national debt as two evils. First there was the fiscal problem of debt and interest. However, there was also a philosophical problem that everyone seems to overlook and this is the origin of the crisis faced by the Youth.
Jefferson explained in a lettered dated September 6th, 1789 he wrote to James Madison stating that “the earth belongs ,,, to the living” and therefore “the dead have neither powers nor rights over it” whereby one’s parents had no authority to impose decisions upon their children and posterity who had no part in making them and that “every constitution,” “every law,” and every public debt should expire within a generation of its enactment. “If it be enforced longer,” he argued, “it is an act of force, and of right.” (PTJm 15:392, 396)

Therefore, I fully agree with Jefferson. You are burdened and your future has been predetermined for you are being taxed without any choice in the matter. You have been stripped of all your rights and your future has been stolen by socialists who wanted to live well by robbing you of your freedom and capacity to determine your own future. For this, you must become politically active. Taxation is evil, and we no longer need taxation since money is no longer a commodity. Money is purely representational dependent upon faith and confidence. Government should not be allowed to borrow, for money should be created for its expense limited to a percent of GDP that cannot be increased except in time of war if ATTACKED – not like a 100 years war to justify taxation.

40 Shocking Quotes from Barack Obama on Islam and Christianity

Its very hard to believe that Obama is not a Shea Muslim, worst case; or a supporter of the Islamic belief that Islam is superior to Christian beliefs,  best case. Neither case is good and the results of his presidency are a disaster as Islam has prospered and Christianity has been neutered.

The following is a Re-Post from the Conservative Tribune

Obama’s quotes on Islam:

1. “The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam”

2. “The sweetest sound I know is the Muslim call to prayer”

3. “We will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over the centuries to shape the world — including in my own country.”

4. “As a student of history, I also know civilization’s debt to Islam.”

5. “Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance.”

6. “Islam has always been part of America”

7. “we will encourage more Americans to study in Muslim communities”

8. “These rituals remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islam’s role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings.”

9. “America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles of justice and progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.”

10. “I made it clear that America is not – and will never be – at war with Islam.”

11. “Islam is not part of the problem in combating violent extremism – it is an important part of promoting peace.”

12. “So I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed”

13. “In ancient times and in our times, Muslim communities have been at the forefront of innovation and education.”

14. “Throughout history, Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality.”

15. “Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality”

16. “The Holy Koran tells us, ‘O mankind! We have created you male and a female; and we have made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another.’”

17. “I look forward to hosting an Iftar dinner celebrating Ramadan here at the White House later this week, and wish you a blessed month.”

18. “We’ve seen those results in generations of Muslim immigrants – farmers and factory workers, helping to lay the railroads and build our cities, the Muslim innovators who helped build some of our highest skyscrapers and who helped unlock the secrets of our universe.”

19. “That experience guides my conviction that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn’t. And I consider it part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.”

20. “I also know that Islam has always been a part of America’s story.”

Now, let’s compare those quotes to what he has said about Christianity:

1. “Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation”

2. “We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation.”

3. “Which passages of scripture should guide our public policy? Should we go with Leviticus, which suggests slavery is OK and that eating shellfish is an abomination? Or we could go with Deuteronomy, which suggests stoning your child if he strays from the faith?”

4. “Even those who claim the Bible’s inerrancy make distinctions between Scriptural edicts, sensing that some passages – the Ten Commandments, say, or a belief in Christ’s divinity – are central to Christian faith, while others are more culturally specific and may be modified to accommodate modern life.”

5. “The American people intuitively understand this, which is why the majority of Catholics practice birth control and some of those opposed to gay marriage nevertheless are opposed to a Constitutional amendment to ban it. Religious leadership need not accept such wisdom in counseling their flocks, but they should recognize this wisdom in their politics.”

6. From Obama’s book, The Audacity of Hope: “I am not willing to have the state deny American citizens a civil union that confers equivalent rights on such basic matters as hospital visitation or health insurance coverage simply because the people they love are of the same sex—nor am I willing to accept a reading of the Bible that considers an obscure line in Romans to be more defining of Christianity than the Sermon on the Mount.”

7. Obama’s response when asked what his definition of sin is: “Being out of alignment with my values.”

8. “If all it took was someone proclaiming I believe Jesus Christ and that he died for my sins, and that was all there was to it, people wouldn’t have to keep coming to church, would they.”

9. “This is something that I’m sure I’d have serious debates with my fellow Christians about. I think that the difficult thing about any religion, including Christianity, is that at some level there is a call to evangelize and prostelytize. There’s the belief, certainly in some quarters, that people haven’t embraced Jesus Christ as their personal savior that they’re going to hell.”

10. “I find it hard to believe that my God would consign four-fifths of the world to hell. I can’t imagine that my God would allow some little Hindu kid in India who never interacts with the Christian faith to somehow burn for all eternity. That’s just not part of my religious makeup.”

11. “I don’t presume to have knowledge of what happens after I die. But I feel very strongly that whether the reward is in the here and now or in the hereafter, the aligning myself to my faith and my values is a good thing.”

12. “I’ve said this before, and I know this raises questions in the minds of some evangelicals. I do not believe that my mother, who never formally embraced Christianity as far as I know … I do not believe she went to hell.”

13. “Those opposed to abortion cannot simply invoke God’s will–they have to explain why abortion violates some principle that is accessible to people of all faiths.”

14. On his support for civil unions for gay couples: “If people find that controversial then I would just refer them to the Sermon on the Mount.”

15. “You got into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

16. “In our household, the Bible, the Koran and the Bhagavad Gita sat on the shelf alongside books of Greek and Norse and African mythology”

17. “On Easter or Christmas Day, my mother might drag me to church, just as she dragged me to the Buddhist temple, the Chinese New Year celebration, the Shinto shrine, and ancient Hawaiian burial sites.”

18. “We have Jews, Muslims, Hindus, atheists, agnostics, Buddhists, and their own path to grace is one that we have to revere and respect as much as our own”

19. “All of us have a responsibility to work for the day when the mothers of Israelis and Palestinians can see their children grow up without fear; when the Holy Land of the three great faiths is the place of peace that God intended it to be; when Jerusalem is a secure and lasting home for Jews and Christians and Muslims, and a place for all of the children of Abraham to mingle peacefully together as in the story of Isra— (applause) — as in the story of Isra, when Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed, peace be upon them, joined in prayer. (Applause.)”

20. “I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people.”

I do not agree with this part of the post and I think the author talks himslef out of the proposition that Obama is not Muslim, as he continues. Further he has surrounded himself with Muslims not Christians, or any other faith, especially in critical government positions.

Occam Razor, “If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck”

We don’t think that Obama is a closet Muslim. He simply espouses theological universalism, or the idea that all religions have truth in them and somehow all end up in the same place when it comes to eternity.

The problem is that truth, by its very nature, is exclusive. All religions make exclusive claims – that’s not something that’s unique to Christianity. As Tim Keller put it, “All claims are exclusive. The Gospel is an exclusive truth but it’s the most inclusive exclusive truth in the world.”

Obama’s idea of pluralism is an interesting one. He praises Islam for being so “tolerant” and criticizes Christianity for not being accommodating enough to Muslims. He also says that we must not “slander the prophet of Islam.” Yet there is no mention of violent, oppressive shariah law, nor is there any mention of the slaughter of Christians in the Middle East at the hands of Muslims.

Obama lauds Islam’s great history yet goes after conservative Christians who want to practice their faith in the public square. Whether it’s Hobby Lobby or Catholic organizations and charities being discriminated against by Obamacare, Obama has shown little tolerance for those groups when it comes to their free exercise of religion. This isn’t true pluralism, it’s pluralism on his terms, and it’s disgusting and hypocritical.

Can We Avert the End of America?

By Prof. Paul Eidelberg  April 2014

“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.”

  – George Bernard Shaw

Part I. In his book Who Are We? (Simon & Schuster, 2004), the eminent Harvard professor of political science Samuel Huntington writes:

Muslims, particularly Arab Muslims, seem slow to assimilate compared to other post-1965 groups….  A study of Los Angeles Muslims found ambivalent attitudes toward America: “a significant number of Muslims, particularly immigrant Muslims, do not have close ties or loyalty to the United States.” When asked whether they had “closer ties or loyalty to Islamic countries (perhaps your country of birth) or the United States,” 45 percent of the immigrants said Islamic countries, 10 percent the United States, and 32 percent about the same.  Among American-born Muslims, 19 percent chose Islamic countries, 38 percent the United States, and 32 percent about the same. Fifty-seven percent said that “if given the choice, [they] would leave the United States to live in an Islamic country.

Part II. Attacking Iran

Suppose the United States attacked Iran to stop its development of nuclear weapons. Could the police and the National Guard quell Muslim riots in any major city of the United States – riots instigated by imams?

Part III. The Post-Americans

In “The Liberal Newcomers,” Phyllis Schlafly (February 3, 2014), writes:

People come to America because it is a remarkable oasis of freedom, prosperity, and opportunity. Conservatives recognize that the principal reason for our unique abundance is our constitutional restraint on the power of government….

Maintaining this system requires the public to support limited government. In a new report, Eagle Forum details how immigration is fundamentally changing the electorate to one that is much more supportive of big government.

By itself, the annual flow of 1.1 million legal immigrants under the current system will create more than 5 million new potential voters by 2024 and more than 8 million by 2028. Congressional Budget Office projections indicate that under the Senate Gang of Eight’s S.744 bill, the total additional potential voters would rise to nearly 10 million by 2024 and 18 million by 2028.

The influx of these new voters would reduce or eliminate Republicans’ ability to offer an alternative to big government, to increased government spending, to higher taxes, and to favorite liberal policies such as Obamacare and gun control.

There is nothing controversial about the report’s conclusion that both Hispanics and Asians, who account for about three-fourth of today’s immigrants, generally agree with the Democrats’ big-government agenda. It is for this reason that they vote two-to-one for Democrats. The 2008 National Annenberg Election Survey found that 62 percent of immigrants prefer a single, government-run health-care system. The 2010 Cooperative Congressional Election Study found that 69 percent of immigrants support Obamacare. Pew also found that 53 percent of Hispanics have a negative view of capitalism, the highest of any group surveyed. This is even higher than the 47 percent among self-identified supporters of Occupy Wall Street.

The Pew Research Center has also found that 75 percent of Hispanics prefer a “bigger government providing more services,” and only 19 percent prefer a smaller government. Pew also reported that 55 percent of Asians prefer “bigger government providing more services,” and only 36 percent prefer a smaller government. So it’s no surprise that in 2012, 71 percent of Hispanics and 73 percent of Asians voted for Obama.

Even Republican emphasis on patriotism and national sovereignty is likely to alienate many immigrants. A Harris poll found that 81 percent of native-born Americans believe our schools should teach students to be proud of being American, compared with only 50 percent of immigrants who had become naturalized U.S. citizens. Only 37 percent of naturalized citizens (compared with 67 percent of native-born citizens) think our Constitution is a higher legal authority than international law.

While it seems that much of the Republican-party leadership has not actually looked at the policy preferences of immigrants, everyone else who has looked at the polls comes to the conclusion that significant majorities of immigrants and their children are big-government liberals. The New York Times’ Washington bureau chief admitted last year that “the two fastest-growing ethnic groups – Latinos and Asian-Americans – are decidedly liberal.” As University of Alabama political scientist George Hawley observes, “Immigrants are well to the left of the American public on a number of key issues.” He also makes clear that “liberalizing immigration will liberalize the U.S.” Heather MacDonald of the Manhattan Institute points out that it “is not immigration policy that creates the strong bond between Hispanics and the Democratic party, but the core Democratic principles of a more generous safety net, strong government intervention in the economy, and progressive taxation.” Immigration in general – not race – is the issue.

The limited data for other immigrants – including Europeans and Muslims – indicate that they, too, generally hold views well to the left of the average American voter. In fact, as discussed in our new report, for reasons largely outside the control of conservatives, immigrants and their children gravitate to left-wing parties in almost all Western countries. The problem for conservatives is not race or ethnicity but immigration as such.

In the Politics, Aristotle warns that one cause of revolution – meaning change in the basic character of a regime – is “heterogeneity of stock.”  America’s founding fathers were aware of this, and wanted to put meaningful restraints on eligibility for citizenship in America.

Is there a way to avert the end of America? Perhaps, but it would require bold, architectonic statesmanship.

DO YOU BELIEVE IN “GOD?”

Do you Believe in God?

God-Exists

I was asked an interesting question if I believed in God. I think most people believe in some form of higher being and the exact form will differ around the world. Whatever the religion, there is a common theme – do unto others as you would have them do to you. From even back to Ancient Egypt, they believe in everyone would be accountable for their actions upon death. It is never what someone’s words may proclaim, the proof is only in their actions.

My response to this question was rather blunt. I do not believe those in power could possibly believe in any form of God for if they did, they would not try to play God, manipulate society and lie to us about absolutely every possible aspect of the economy and life. Socialism/Marxism outright violates the Ten Commandments for you are not supposed to covet their neighbors goods. Yet government ignores that command and they declare that freedom is bad and that they have the right to take for others who have more than they do. Yet they will prosecute someone who robs another on the street for taking goods or cash from them simply because they have it. Police kill citizens without being charged, It is alright to someone else if the government orders you to do so. Those in power ALWAYS exempt themselves form religion and law yet pretend they are just and righteous.

You DO NOT manipulate facts, lie to the people, and then pretend you believe in God. If you believe in God and any sense of a last judgment, you cannot then advocate manipulating, stealing, and then lying to the public.

Government always use religion to manipulate the masses. Even the USA threatened the Vatican to remove it from the SWIFT system like Iran unless they too reported to whom any wire came from or was going to. So religion to government has always been just a tool to manipulate the people. They cannot advocate nor actually believe in any God and then do what they do. You do not try to end democracy to retain power and then pretend you believe in any higher power.

One’s belief is demonstrated not by what they say, but by their actions.
