Perfectly European: Germany, France, U.K, Poland and EU Commission Refuse to Send Troops on Peacekeeping Mission to Ukraine Without U.S. Troops

The ‘leaders’ of Europe got together in Paris, France at the request of French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss how to handle a peace agreement if Putin, Trump and eventually Zelenskyy come to terms.  The outcome perfectly encapsulates the EU.

After essentially saying the United States would not send military troops into Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping mission, President Trump sent a communique to each of the leaders, “asking them to spell out what they would be prepared to offer to enforce a peace agreement, as well as what they would expect from the U.S.”  However, there was no consensus from the EU meeting.

Instead, the Germans, French, British, Polish and EU leaders from Brussels said they would not send military assistance to Ukraine, without the leadership of the United States, and specifically without U.S. military troops to lead them.  {Insert belly laughter here} Of course, they didn’t.

Politico outlines the story of the meeting: […] “A French-led effort by European leaders to present a united front on Ukraine in the face of rising fear over U.S. President Donald Trump’s intentions fizzled Monday as they failed to agree on sending troops to police a possible peace deal.

French President Emmanuel Macron had called the emergency meeting in Brussels after European leaders were left reeling by news the U.S. would start negotiations with Russia to end its war on Ukraine, but without inviting any representatives from Europe or from Ukraine.

But after a 3.5-hour huddle at the Elysée presidential palace, the response of leaders to the biggest security calculus shift in decades was underwhelming.  “We realize that such meetings do not end in decisions,” Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said after the meeting.

Leaders came up with no new joint ideas, squabbled over sending troops to Ukraine, and once again mouthed platitudes on aiding Ukraine and boosting defense spending.

“Today in Paris we reaffirmed that Ukraine deserves peace through strength,” said both European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa.

The core dispute was over whether to send troops to Ukraine if there is an agreement to end the war. U.S. President Donald Trump has ruled out both sending U.S. forces and allowing Ukraine to join NATO, meaning that any effort to prevent Russia from attacking Ukraine again would have to be borne by Europeans.

NOT WITHOUT THE USA – France, whose President Emmanuel Macron first suggested the idea, and the U.K.’s Keir Starmer both support the idea, although Starmer said that could only happen if the United States also participated in any peacekeeping force.

He insisted on the need for a “U.S. backstop” after peace is secured in Ukraine, in order to “deter Russia from attacking Ukraine again.”

But Poland, a frontline state and close ally of Ukraine, with one of the largest militaries in Europe, demurred.

“We do not anticipate sending Polish soldiers to Ukraine,” Tusk said in Warsaw before flying to Paris.

“Poland simply doesn’t have the additional capacity to send troops to Ukraine,” said a senior Polish official who spoke on condition of anonymity, noting the country has long borders with the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad and Russia-allied Belarus, which need to be reinforced with Polish forces. “The French are far away so they can send soldiers to Ukraine; we’re close so we cannot.” (read more)

They have nothing but words, platitudes, meaningless bureaucratic sentence assemblies.

Oh, but he’s a horrible man that Trump, and JD Vance is bad, or something.

Too funny.

I doubt there is anything more completely European, than the leaders of Europe waxing philosophically with their high-minded prose about how the USA needs to provide military troops to support a peace deal that impacts the Europeans.

Through the Looking Glass: CBS Attempts to Support German Surveillance State and Elimination of Speech

Posted originally on the CTH on February 17, 2025 | Sundance

On Sunday, when CBS’s Margaret Brennan shockingly claimed that “free speech” was the cause of the German holocaust and rise in Naziism, a stunned Secretary of State Marco Rubio simply replied, “I have to fundamentally disagree with you, Margaret.”  The reaction from American observers toward the interview, and in particular Vice-President JD Vance, was much less diplomatic. “This is a crazy exchange,” Vance said.

However, a few hours later the background context for Brennan’s position surfaced, when CBS 60 Minutes broadcast a defense of German laws that make it illegal to say something that can be construed as “insulting.”  The CBS segment is naturally alarming to people who will not accept definitions of approved speech determined by government officials; especially for most Americans who have experienced the extreme online control operations by govt interests around the COVID-19 fiasco.  Watch (prompted):

This is the mindset that JD Vance encountered following his honest remarks to the Munich Security Conference.  The Vice-President outlined in his remarks that Europe was devolving into a totalitarian state, destroying democracy and using the power of government against the freewill and liberty of the European people.

Vance was pointing out the big picture of liberty, freedom and the value of democracy.  After citing examples of oppressive EU action that included the nullification of the Romanian election, Vice-President Vance noted in his comments, “there is no security if you are afraid of the voices of your own people,” he said.  Continuing, “if you are running in fear of your own voters, there is nothing the American people can do to assist you.”  The EU collective, and specifically the German political leadership immediately decried the brutally honest remarks.

There is a particular irony in Germany saying that controversial speech is not protected speech, arresting people for what the state considers online antagonism, and then decrying Vice-President Vance for calling them out.  The need for control is a reaction to fear (inherent insecurity), and the actions by the German government are extreme.  However, for Germany this is particularly ironic.

We are only one generation from a time when the German ‘Stasi’ monitored the speech and communication of German citizens in order to maintain a brutally oppressive totalitarian state.   Now, in their effort to control the voices of those who oppose government policy, the German politicians are again reverting to the use of a new online German Stasi for exactly the same purpose.

Germany seeks to control speech, control information, and control the voices of those they define as “unlawful” subversives acting against their national interests.  CBS 60-Minutes highlights the policy and delivery of the process behind that control, while simultaneously supporting the totalitarian mindset.

In the bigger picture what CBS is doing is highlighting the anti-democratic view the media share, that information and speech must be controlled.

Thanks entirely to President Donald Trump, we are now entering an era where a Great American Awakening is taking place. We are watching moment by moment as newly revealed forces, govt institutions, judicial systems and political entities openly drop their masks, forcefully coming out in opposition to the sunlight and transparency President Trump represents.

Without any motive other than restoration, revelation, understanding and the reprioritization of freedom and liberty inherent in the Make America Great Again proposition, President Trump, DOGE, Elon Musk and all of those amid their teams who are pulling back the curtain hiding corruption, are facing extreme opposition by ‘elites’ and communists who have created decades of institutional control systems.

This supernova blast of Trumpian sunlight upon the corrupt systems of U.S. government has only just begun to penetrate.   The tentacles of the metastasis extend beyond our borders into the global institutions those same ‘elites’ and communists have controlled.

From the United States Senate, through the Judicial Branch and across the Atlantic into the European Union, NATO agenda and Brussels, we are only just now witnessing the scale of the problem.

Stay strong!

There are more of us than them.

COMMENT: Hi Martin,

Just as I was getting more optimistic on geopolitics with US falling back on its feet and Trump wanting to stop the war, I watch the news in France and all I can hear is the following : the US cannot decide alone the fate of Ukraine, Europe needs to its own defense, remilitarisation, Ukraine needs to become a member of the EU.

It seems you’re right, the model can’t be beaten and war is still unavoidable despite the Neocons defeat in the US.
Amazing and kudos even if that means we have no future here with these incompetent leaders who will never admit their mistakes. Depressing to say the least but when war is due it is time for war…

Best,
PH

ANSWER:  Macron, in particular, is very hostile toward Trump and the idea of peace. They want to conquer Russia and strip mine its assets as the solution to bailout Europe from its disastrous policies of socialism, climate change, and the inevitable collapse of the EU. We have a date with war and the collapse of these corrupt republics post-2032.

I wish I were wrong, but it always comes down to retaining power and war, which they see as both a distraction and a solution for debt. Just as I was in the middle of an attempted regime change scheme to take over Russia back in 1999, these people look at the potential wealth from Russia and cannot help but lick their lips while rubbing their hands. Our leaders learn nothing from mistakes or history. It is always the conclusion—this time, it’s different. They will destroy Europe just as Zelinsky is destroying Ukraine.

Dubai’s annual World Governments Summit – the Davos Sequel

QUESTION: Why are you not at Dubai’s annual World Governments Summit? I have seen you walking out of the central bank in Abu Dabi. Are they just another Davos? If they do not invite you, something is wrong.

JFG

ANSWER: I am not part of that crowd. Yes, they are more of the establishment Davos-like gathering. They are not interested in reality. They certainly do not want to hear me talk about capital flows and the sovereign debt crisis on stage for the world to listen to. What we discuss in private meetings is not for general mass publication. As I have said, this is a confidence game. What they put on is just a dog-and-pony show. You do not air out your dirty laundry in public. It takes a crisis for that to happen. What Musk is doing is that, and perhaps what he accomplishes is far more than merely closing down agencies. He is exposing the corruption, which is what 2032 is all about. These gatherings are pretending nothing is wrong, and they are in control

Could Canada Join the EU?

An economist has made headlines for suggesting that Canada unite with the European Union bloc. Could Canada become the 28th member state? Absolutely not.

The very idea that Canada would consider joining the European Union and abandoning the Canadian dollar for the euro is sheer economic insanity. To throw away its sovereignty and monetary independence in favor of the European Union—an entity in economic decline—would be a move that history would mark as an outright betrayal of the nation’s future.

The Maastricht Treaty of 1992 prohibits non-European nations from joining. Article 49 known as the Treaty of the European Union or the Treaty of Lisbon states that EU membership is for EU nations. Canada, geographically and economically, is tied to the United States and North America. Morocco put this treaty to the test in 1987 when it requested membership. The European Council ruled that Morocco was simply not a European country. Canada, like Morocco, cannot point to French ties as a reason to be considered European, nor would most Canadians want to.

For decades, I have warned that the European Union is nothing more than an authoritarian construct designed to strip nations of their sovereignty under the false pretense of economic unity. The reality is the opposite—nations that have joined the EU have lost control over their economies, their tax policies, and even their ability to govern in their own national interests.

If Canada were to abandon the Canadian dollar and adopt the euro, it would hand over control of its economic fate to unelected bureaucrats in Brussels who have already driven Europe into negative growth with failed policies.

The inability of these nations to control their own currency has led to permanent economic stagnation. The European Central Bank (ECB) dictates monetary policy for the entire eurozone, and it does so based on Germany and France’s needs, not the broader interests of individual member states. Canada would absorb the debt of other nations in addition to its own debt that has been rising C$878 per second.

Unlike the Canadian dollar, which is backed by Canada’s ability to print money and manage its own monetary policy, the euro is a debt-backed currency. The entire EU system is built upon the forced cooperation of nations with vastly different economic structures, which is why it has failed to produce real economic growth.

Capital would flee Canada as investors would see even the mere request of membership as a sign that the government had no long-term strategy. Canada is already struggling with high taxation, an ousted prime minister, and has become deeply involved in every globalist alliance from NATO to the United Nations. By tying itself to Europe, Canada would not only lose investment but would push corporations and wealth holders to relocate to the US where monetary policy is more predictable.
