Civil Unrest Growing in France

Armstrong Economics Blog/France Re- Posted Oct 19, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

Protests are appearing across France as people are demanding changes. I must say, I do respect the French for always taking to the streets when their politicians fail them. And the politicians are certainly failing the people right now. There are ongoing protests regarding the rising cost of living. Winter is coming and people are concerned about basic necessities such as food and energy.

There are now protests demanding that France abandon NATO. The people do not want to enter a war. On the same day that President Macron announced 2,000 Ukrainian troops would be trained on French soil, thousands took to the capital to demand a stop to this madness. The protestors, per usual, called for Macron’s resignation. In addition to abandoning NATO, the French people would like to abandon the European Union. The idea behind the creation of the European Union, a union to end and prevent war in Europe, has clearly FAILED. “Frexit” is becoming a trending topic as the people now see that those in Brussels do not care about the people.

Our computer has indicated that civil unrest would rise going into November. There are protests appearing all over the world, and unfortunately for the opposition, those protests will only heighten as conditions worsen and policies are passed at the expense of the people.

Guaranteed Basic Income Pilot Includes Illegal Immigrants

Armstrong Economics Blog/USA Current Events Re-Posted Oct 17, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

An Illinois county is paying illegal immigrants for making it across the border and winding up in the mess that is the Chicago area. US taxpayers already pay around $20 billion annually to support those who entered illegally, but that amount is expected to rise significantly. Although impossible to forget, this is occurring on the backdrop of serious inflation and a looming global recession. Now, lawmakers are promising Guaranteed Basic Income to this same group.

The Cook County Promise Guaranteed Income Pilot is testing Guaranteed Basic Income on 3,250 households across the county. They will each receive $500 per month with “no strings attached.” Again, free money is never free. Those eligible must be adults 250% beneath the federal poverty line or households over four earning under $69,375.

It is estimated that 36% of county residents will be permitted to apply. “Participants are free to spend the money however they see fit to meet their needs, within the bounds of the law,” the website states. “This pilot is open to all residents of Cook County, regardless of your immigration status. This means that if you are undocumented, or your household is a mixed-status household, and you meet the eligibility criteria above, you are eligible to participate.  We will not share information on immigration status with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).”

They claim the funds will come from the American Rescue Plan Act, an act funded by Americans that was intended for Americans. Welcome to modern-day America where individual counties are permitted to practice socialism at your expense.

Schwab Getting Desperate? Martin Armstrong Agenda Contributor at WEF

Armstrong Economics Blog/WEF Re-Posted Oct 8, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

OK. I cannot even count the emails coming in on this one.  It seems Schwab has found someone with the same name but is just a journalist, and he has been sending this out to everyone. Look. I began our WEC in 1985. Schwab started his WEF in 1987. Marcus Vetter did the film on me, so Schwab called him and paid him to do a film on him. This has been a back-and-forth ordeal for a long time.

Socrates has been very clear. This New World Order will fail. They also think that they can conquer Russia without a nuke. They have been doing everything possible to try to overthrow Putin and actually think, as always, the people will cheer and give them a ticker-tape parade for saving them. They assumed the same scenario in Iraq, Lybia, and Syria. They really think that they walk on water.

I see international war unfolding, probably post-2024 into 2028. I do not see Schwab’s dream of a New World Order and this one-world economy ever coming off. He will try, no doubt. But we are looking at the collapse of sovereign government debt starting in Europe.

Poland Goes Nuclear as NATO Breaks Past Promises

Armstrong Economics Blog/War Re-Posted Oct 6, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

The war in Ukraine escalated as a direct result of NATO’s interference. Russia felt backed into a corner, on the defensive, and felt it had no choice but to invade Ukraine in response to heightened tensions with NATO. Even the pope came out and said that NATO was antagonizing Russia by “barking at the Gates of Russia.”

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) originally wanted Russia to join after the Soviet Union was dissolved. Although Russia did not join, relations with NATO were strong. In 1997, NATO reported that they planned to build “lasting and inclusive peace in the Euro-Atlantic area on the principles of democracy and cooperative security” with Russia. NATO also claimed that it would not deploy nuclear measures against Russia.

"The member States of NATO reiterate that they have no intention, no plan and no reason to deploy nuclear weapons on the territory of new members, nor any need to change any aspect of NATO's nuclear posture or nuclear policy - and do not foresee any future need to do so. This subsumes the fact that NATO has decided that it has no intention, no plan, and no reason to establish nuclear weapon storage sites on the territory of those members, whether through the construction of new nuclear storage facilities or the adaptation of old nuclear storage facilities. Nuclear storage sites are understood to be facilities specifically designed for the stationing of nuclear weapons, and include all types of hardened above or below ground facilities (storage bunkers or vaults) designed for storing nuclear weapons."

If peace in the euro area was of top importance, this situation would have de-escalated back in February. Now, bordering countries are increasing their nuclear capabilities. Poland has announced that they are willing to host nuclear weapons provided by the US. The head of the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party, Jarosław Kaczyński, “fully supports” the proposition. However, Poland is freeing itself of any responsibility. Duda said that the weapons of mass destruction “would not be a nuclear weapon under the control of Poland. Participation in nuclear sharing does not imply having your own nuclear weapon.”

France, the United Kingdom, and America are the only three NATO members with their own nuclear weapons. Yet, they store nuclear weapons in strategic places such as Italy, the Netherlands, Turkey, and Belgium. These countries will be able to strengthen their national security while alleviating the full burden of being in control of nuclear weapons.

Germany Hits Record Population Growth

Armstrong Economics Blog/Germany Re-Posted Oct 4, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

There are now 84 million people living in Germany, according to the German Federal Statistical Office. This has nothing to do with the birth rate, which is on the decline. Instead, the number of Ukrainians seeking refuge in Germany caused the population to grow by 750,000 this year.

The population in Germany grew by 0.1% or 82,000 in 2021. In 2022, the population has already increased by 1% or 843,000 people. Germany has not experienced such a large influx of refugees since 2015 when Angela Merkle welcomed all Syrians into Germany. Nearly one million people entered Germany in 2015, mostly fleeing war in the Middle East. It proved to be a disaster as Germany did not have the means to care for all the new arrivals, and the cultures did not integrate well.

Germany is not likely to see as strong of an influx since other European nations are opening their borders to Ukrainians. Poland has already permitted 6.56 million Ukrainians to enter their borders. Yet, Poland has reported that tens of thousands of Ukrainians who fled are now returning. Those returning are likely men who want to fight. Germany reported that most of their new refugees are women (501,000) as well.

The culture integration is easier compared to the 2015 refugee crisis, but do these European nations have the infrastructure and financial means to support so many additional people? Those who fled Syria had nothing to return to as their nation did not receive endless funds from the West. On the other hand, Ukrainians who fled likely plan to return once the war is over. The question becomes when can I return as everything indicates that this war is only getting started.

Russia not seeking to revive Soviet Union – Putin

Reuters Published originally on Rumble on September 30, 2022

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday (September 30) denied seeking to revive the Soviet Union, moments after announcing Moscow would annex four Ukrainian provinces following what it called “referendums”, votes that were denounced by Kyiv and Western governments as illegal and coercive.
