Ottawa Police Chief Opens Possibility of Using Canadian Military to Remove Freedom Convoy Protest Group

Several days ago CTH presented the following meme/metaphor, because history has a tendency to rhyme:

Those who recognize and appreciate history will note that whenever hardline leftism is confronted anywhere in history, there always comes an inflection point when the ruling state police have to make a decision.

When the Chinese communists decided it was time to rid themselves of the dissident protests in Tiananmen Square, the local military encircled the student and academic activists in an effort to protect them (pictured above).  However, the ruling Chinese officials were not happy, and sent for the Mongolian army divisions, those without familial connections in the movement, to do the dirty work.  The rest of history you likely know.

In Ottawa, Canada, again another exhibition of confronting hardline totalitarian leftists, the voices of those within the Freedom Convoy movement are similarly not going to be deterred.  The protestors want the government COVID dictates removed, they want vaccine passport rules dropped, they want mandated vaccinations and forced medical procedures stopped, and they want their freedom back.

Into this equation and confrontation, The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and local law enforcement are also unlikely to want to bring blood and violence upon the streets.  However, the hardline leftists will not allow dissent to challenge their power. As history repeats, the local police are now opening the possibility of bringing in the military.

Yes, history is rhyming again.

(CANADA STATE MEDIA) – […] Ottawa’s police chief says policing alone might not solve the ongoing, volatile occupation of the city’s downtown core that has lasted for nearly a week, and military aid might be necessary.

“This is a national issue, not an Ottawa issue,” Ottawa police Chief Peter Sloly said in a briefing to city councillors Wednesday afternoon.

“I am increasingly concerned there is no policing solution to this.”

Sloly said options being considered include requesting military aid, negotiation, political response, a court injunction or forced removal of protesters. But all approaches come with significant concerns, including rioting, injury and death, he said.

“I don’t have a singular mandate in this city, this province or this country, to negotiate the end to any demonstration. There always needs to be an element outside of the police for any truly successful end to any demonstration, particularly one of this size,” he said. (read more)

Whether Prime Minister Justin Trudeau triggers the use of the Canadian military to attack peaceful protestors within the city of Ottawa under the auspices of his authority and the national state of emergency, is yet to be determined.  However, it is important to not let this moment in the discussion go without emphasis.

This looming question of violence is always the outcome when leftism is confronted.

Hardline leftists must impose their policy by force.  There is not a single example throughout history when following socialism, communism, fascism or leftism writ large to its natural conclusion, does not end up with this type of dynamic.  This always happens.

The reason is simple. Leftism is based on the controlling constructs of manipulative people.  The natural forces that guide humanity to seek a life of liberty and freedom are in direct conflict with those constructs.  Leftism is about controlling human behavior, there will always be this conflict so long as people still yearn to be free and unregulated.  The level of oppressive fear needed to create compliance is the only variable in the equation.

It’s hopefully unlikely that Justin Trudeau will order the military to open fire on truckdrivers and their supporters.   However, it is not out of the realm of possibility, because this is the true nature of where communal demand takes us.  The greater good of society always demands the removal of any voice who would stand in opposition to the oppressive regulations.  In a directly connected example, this is why Big Tech must silence the voices of dissidents who challenge the regime.

Moments of great consequence come down to this confrontation.  Generations of people who are born after the violence takes place do not have a reference point for this; that is why history is guaranteed to repeat.

It is only when the younger people see the extent of violence the ruling class will deliver in order to retain power that you see a youthful awakening.  Thus, the quote from Thomas Jefferson, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants,” takes on its intended focus.

Conflict, sometimes violent confrontation, is the natural outcome of allowing a slow erosion of liberty to take place.  Accepting this truism is why the wise voices in our history have sounded trumpets whenever examples rise of that erosion.  Taking your shoes off in the airport starts to look a whole lot differently when you realize that eventually that simple act, and the next series of simple acts, are simple steps toward the confrontation that will always, eventually, surface.

The issues in/around COVID-19, and the government responses around it, have replaced the process of slowly eroding liberty with an era of full throttled running directly toward tyranny.

What is happening in Ottawa right now will determine the direction of Canada for generations.

These are the stakes…

(UK Guardian) – […] Officials expect more protesters to arrive in the city over the weekend, and described the situation “volatile”.

Residents have become increasingly frustrated with the blaring truck horns and a number of local businesses have shuttered. The Rideau Centre, a popular mall downtown, announced it would remain closed until 6 February.

“Residents have been abandoned during a national crisis – an occupation of our city,” said city councillor Catherine McKenney, calling on police ask the RCMP for help.

Protesters released a statement on Wednesday, saying they sympathized with residents over the disruption to daily life, but added trucks would only leave once the federal government repealed its public health restrictions, many of which are under provincial and municipal jurisdiction. (read more)

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Canadian Truckers Remove One Massive Political Roadblock – Erin O’Toole Removed as the Conservative Voice, Meanwhile St Crispen’s Day Approaches

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on February 2, 2022 | Sundance | 292 Comments

The Canadian “Freedom Convoy” of truckers, representing the voices of the forgotten working-class men and women of Canada, have achieved a resounding victory today on behalf of Middle Canada.  The conservative opposition in Canada has removed Erin O’Toole as opposition leader.  This is a great first step in Canadian politics for the working class.

Erin O’Toole was a pathetically weak voice who refused to stand boldly on behalf of the working-class protestors.

Middle Canada has risen up and said enough, it is time for the insufferable government regulations to end and normal people to regain their freedom and liberty.

Instead of accepting the role of advocacy for the constituents he proclaimed to represent, Erin O’Toole showed his alignment with the government oppressing the people.

It is often said that times of great consequence create moments that must be recognized by strong political leaders.

Not only did O’Toole fail to realize the moment and fail to capitalize on the opportunity the truckers had brought to his office, but he also openly opposed the commonsense voice of the people.  Today he was removed by a vote of 73 to 45.

One hundred eighteen of the opposition MPs were present to remove him from party leadership.  This is what representative government should look like; notwithstanding the need to look even more closely at those who voted to keep him around.

Yes, in the larger analysis, the truckers gained a massive victory today by removing a political pontificating pustule of pomposity.  Well Done!

Canadian state media is sad to see their side lose such principled and controlled opposition.

(State Media CBC) – […] O’Toole, a four-term Ontario MP who has fought only one federal election campaign as the party’s leader, will be replaced by an interim leader later today after another caucus vote.

After the vote was over, O’Toole officially resigned his post in a letter to Rob Batherson, the president of the Conservative Party of Canada, according to a source with knowledge of the decision.

In a resignation video posted to Twitter, O’Toole described his time as Conservative leader as “the honour of a lifetime” — before warning that “Canada is in a dire moment of our history.”

[…] Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh and Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet each acknowledged O’Toole during question period on Wednesday.

“There is a lot we don’t agree on for the direction of this country, but he stepped up to serve his country and I want to thank him for his sacrifice,” Trudeau said. (read more)

Who among the Canadian political class will now stand with the truckers, with The People?

Who will listen to the voices of Middle Canada and rise to the occasion?

Who will stand with the movement and lead the working Canadian people to freedom?

Who is the person of courage that can deserve their support?

If we are mark’d to die, we are enow
To do our country loss; and if to live,
The fewer men, the greater share of honour.
God’s will! I pray thee, wish not one man more.

By Jove, I am not covetous for gold,
Nor care I who doth feed upon my cost;
It yearns me not if men my garments wear;
Such outward things dwell not in my desires.
But if it be a sin to covet honour,
I am the most offending soul alive.

No, faith, my coz, wish not a man from England.
God’s peace! I would not lose so great an honour
As one man more methinks would share from me
For the best hope I have. O, do not wish one more!

Rather proclaim it, Westmoreland, through my host,
That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his passport shall be made,
And crowns for convoy put into his purse;
We would not die in that man’s company
That fears his fellowship to die with us.

This day is call’d the feast of Crispian.
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when this day is nam’d,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.

He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say “To-morrow is Saint Crispian.”

Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
And say “These wounds I had on Crispian’s day.”
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he’ll remember, with advantages,
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words-
Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester-
Be in their flowing cups freshly remembred.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall neer go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he neer so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accursd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.

This is the time in the history of government when the core, central and basic topic of FREEDOM is being eroded.

This is not a time for pastels.  This is a time for bold contrasts.

The Western values of representative government either support the basic tenet that people should be free, or that government does not.  There is no middle ground.

We cannot be partially adherent to tyranny when the systems of government are demanding obedience to forced medical procedures. At this moment of consequence, we are either free to reject medical treatment – or we are not free.  There is no middle ground.

We are either free, as unique individuals to move around our own country without some arbitrary registration process, or we are not free.  There is no middle ground.

The premise of “papers please” is either rejected, or it is accepted.  There is no middle ground.

These are the core tenets that must be determined, argued, fought about, defended and decided.  There is no room for quisling prose or the parsing of personage amid the discussion.

This is not a debate for the soft consideration about the tender sensibilities of small voices.

Hell, this is a debate that should never have been a debate, but here it is.

Knock, Knock – Wakey, Wakey – Honk, Honk.

Every conservative politician must now, in this moment of extreme significance, rise to the needs of this damned occasion, fight for freedom like they are the third monkey on the ramp to Noah’s Ark, or get the hell out of the way and let the people with dirty fingernails decide the outcome.

The moment is now.  The moment, this moment, is what the truckers of Canada and the free people around the world who support them are trying to force upon unwilling government leadership around the world.

Every conservative politician in Canada should be forced to look at this little girl and justify their action or lack thereof.

There is no middle ground.

Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way!

Indeed, they are my lady. Indeed they are.

Nobody likes that pisoshito…😭🤣🤣🤣

Former KGB Informant: Political Prostitutes are Useful Idiots

Armstrong Economics Blog/New Norm Re-Posted Feb 2, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

Yuri Bezmenov, former USSR KGB informant who defected to Canada, explains how rhetoric can destabilize the Western economy with Marxist ideology. It only takes four steps to destroy society: demoralization, destabilization, crisis, and normalization.

1.) Demoralization – This typically occurs in the span of 15-20 years as it takes time to re-educate the youth to believe in values contrary to tradition.

2.) Destabilization – Once a generation has been demoralized, it takes another 2-5 years to destabilize a nation’s economy, foreign relations, and defense system. Hunt out the sympathizers and introduce the welfare state to make the people reliant on the government.

3.) Crisis – This stage only takes six months as the results are rapid. Create a crisis, introduce war, fear, and terror. Cause the people to look toward the government for comfort amid desperation.

4.) Normalization – The powers granted to the government are now a normal part of life. Liberties have been surrendered to the government to solve the problem that the government created. Dissidents are seen as a disposable threat, and the world is expected to accept the new way of life as normal.

Saskatchewan Premier to Remove Vaccine Mandate

Armstrong Economics Blog/Canada Re-Posted Feb 2, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

(Click on image above for better resolution)

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe has heard the cries of the people and responded accordingly. “My government supports your call to end the cross border ban on unvaccinated truckers,” he said. “And it is why, in the not too-distant future, our government will be ending our proof of negative test/proof of vaccination policy in Saskatchewan.”

Moe, who is fully vaccinated, said that he believes vaccinations are effective but does not believe in forced mandates. “Because vaccination is not reducing transmission, the current federal border policy for truckers makes no sense,” Moe said in his letter. “An unvaccinated trucker does not pose any greater risk of transmission than a vaccinated trucker.” Finally, a politician speaking openly and honestly. An unvaccinated trucker, worker, student, customer, or anyone for that matter does not pose any greater risk of transmission than the vaccinated. The mandate is meaningless.

Furthermore, Moe called the vaccine mandate an economic liability. “The current federal policy does pose a significant risk to Canada’s economy and to the supply chain in our Saskatchewan communities,” Moe wrote. “This federal policy will increase the cost of living, which is now rising at a rate that is creating significant hardship for many Canadians.”

The vaccine mandate is causing harm to the economy, workforce, and overall ways of life. I commend the Freedom Convoy for protesting successfully and making real changes through civil disobedience.

COVID Restrictions Collapsing – Resistance Was NOT Futile

Armstrong Economics Blog/Disease Re-Posted Feb 1, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

As we head into the March Turning point on the ECM, we have reached the critical point where I have been warning that Schwab and his evil agenda is collapsing. Resistance Was NOT Futile. These morons with their Climate Change Agenda have been shutting down energy everywhere they can long before there are any alternatives. Just look at the details if you put solar panels on your home. Yes, you create excess energy that goes back into a bank to reduce your bill. However, if the grid goes down, you cannot pull that energy back to keep your house running and the solar panels will not work. You need a battery to store the energy on your own site but the storage capacity is minimal. Bottom line, you still need a generator if the power goes down and that needs Gas or fossil fuels. Then replacing all cars with electricity will crash the power grid for we are nowhere near being able to end fossil fuels.

This entire agenda is nonsense and being able to use alternatives is more than a decade away. These people are looking at ideas rather than real science.  Here is Schwab’s video celebrating how great it was to lock down the entire world. This man is highly dangerous to humanity as a whole.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Continues to Denigrate Working Class Protesters

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on February 1, 2022 | sundance | 267 Comments

The pathetic Canadian Prime Minister continues to attach hate-filled labels against ordinary working class Canadians who are protesting for the removal of COVID-19 mandates and restrictions.

These Alinsky attacks against his own countrymen are genuinely creepy and uncomfortable to see.  Trudeau is continuing to melt down in a very public way.  Other than a very small circle around him, I doubt these statements are generating much support.

Canadian National Police, RCMP, Vow to Remove Alberta Trucker Blockade – Standoff Ongoing

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on February 1, 2022 | sundance | 650 Comments

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are the federal police for Canada.  As many local law enforcement communities have refused to move against their own citizens, the Canadian government is now deploying the RCMP against the Alberta trucker blockade.

The border crossing between Coutts, Alberta (CA) and Sweet Grass, Montana (USA) continues to be blocked as truckers allied against COVID-19 restrictions and vaccine passports are united.  The Alberta protests are in support of the larger trucker protest taking place in Ottawa.

Tensions are increasing as the truckers are refusing to move, but the RCMP has vowed to get rid of the blockade.  Supporters for the truckers are working through freezing temperatures to keep them supplied with food and fuel to keep the blockade in place. Even farm tractors have joined the effort.

The standoff continues as the RCMP have been reluctant to forcibly arrest the rather hardened and burly truckers.  There is also a legal defense fund established to assist the truckers against any criminal charges. [SEE HERE]

Canadian state media, aka the CBC, are trying to frame the protesting truckers as villains and violent fringe extremists.  However, after calling the essential working truckers heroes previously, the majority of the Canadian people, specifically the people in/around the Alberta province, are not buying the nonsense from the CBC as supported by the leftist government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

(Via CBC) – RCMP have approached a blockade of vehicles that has jammed traffic for days at a Canada-U.S. border crossing in Alberta after warning that those participating in the protest may be subject to arrest Tuesday afternoon.

[…] RCMP Cpl. Curtis Peters confirmed to CBC News that enforcement has begun, although it is unclear what that will entail. (more)

Rebel News has journalists embedded with the trucker blockade in Alberta and has been tweeting about the standoff.

Will Prime Minister Justin Trudeau or provincial Alberta officials authorize the RCMP to violently remove the protesting truckers?

Perhaps.  However, that could backfire as there is an endless supply of sand in the hands of blue collar Canadians to throw into the economic machinery.

The standoff continues…

He finally came out of hiding!!!😂😂😂

How to Protest Successfully: The 2022 Freedom Convoy

Armstrong Economics Blog/Canada Re-Posted Feb 1, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

The 2022 Freedom Convoy is underway in Canada as countless truckers have gathered in Ottawa, forming a gridlock. They have a clear agenda and request — repeal all COVID mandates, now! Prime Minister Trudeau cowardly went into hiding before the truckers arrived and now conveniently claims he tested positive for the coronavirus yet again. He can quarantine, but the truckers will be waiting for him once he runs out of excuses to hide.

The truckers have clear demands and leadership. Citizens have warmly welcomed the truckers as they’ve passed through countless towns, with people and churches donating food, shelter, and money to the cause that will benefit everyone, even those outside of Canada. Numerous protestors have declared online that their hotels and nearby eateries no longer require masks and everyone is in the fight together.

The protestors are respectful. They have not left behind any damage, and citizens have cleaned up any trash left behind. The organizers have asked other protestors to report anyone who seems to be a nuisance who might be attempting to detract from the cause. Even the police have praised the thousands of protestors for their collectively calm behavior. They are not burning down buildings or asking for vague demands. As much as the media would like to paint this as a white nationalist movement, as they tend to do when they are losing an argument, they cannot deny that there is a sense of unity among Canadians right now who are peacefully fighting for their freedoms. This historical movement is simply about COVID mandates.

The Freedom Convoy wants Justin Trudeau to admit he violated the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and repeal ALL mandates. The message is clear, and the protestors have no intentions of leaving until Trudeau comes out, faces them like a man, and eliminates all COVID-related restrictions.
