Dr. Ron Brown – Opinion Editorial January 19, 2022
“Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain,” (From the Wizard of Oz: Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain). Like the Wizard of Oz, the more Dr. Fauci fends off attacks over involvement of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in funding gain of function research, claimed by others to have contributed to the COVID-19 pandemic, the more he hides his culpability in other critical pandemic-related matters. Listening to Fauci’s self-righteous indignation as he spars with congressional representatives is similar to watching the classic 1939 movie, “Do not arouse the wrath of the great and powerful Oz! Do you presume to criticize the great Oz, you ungrateful creatures? The great Oz has spoken!”Subscribe to the Trialsitenews “COVID-19” ChannelNo spam – we promise
As we approach two years from Dr. Fauci’s appearance before U.S. Congress in March 2020, the great and powerful Fauci continues to evade responsibility for his role in launching a massive response to the coronavirus pandemic by providing Congress and the public with misinformation.
Pull back the curtain (good dog, Toto!), and you will find a befuddled, grey-haired public health bureaucrat struggling to convince the public at the start of the pandemic that the coronavirus was 10 times more deadly than the flu. Like a magician performing a card trick, Wizard Fauci dazzles his audience by flashing epidemiological numbers before them. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to have the levers of federal power and access to the most powerful media on the planet to project the thaumaturgy.
Dr. Fauci Magic Show
Ladies and Gentlemen: Here we have the case fatality rate of the coronavirus—the CFR, last measured at about 2-3% in China. That means 2 to 3 percent of the reported cases in China died.
‘What about the unreported coronavirus cases in China,’ you ask—the mild and asymptomatic infections that were never reported as cases? ‘How many of those people died?’ That number is called the infection fatality rate (IFR). No one knows that number, because it hasn’t been measured yet.
But no problem; watch the great and powerful Wizard Fauci magically pull a make-believe IFR out of the thin air! How about 1%? That sounds good enough, right? Who would question the great and powerful Fauci?
But Dr. Fauci never called his made-up number an IFR. He simply magically turned the 2-3% CFR from China into a number, 1%, that just happened to be ten times higher than the true IFR of influenza, which is 0.1%.
Presto! The coronavirus is 10 times more deadly than the flu! So, you think you will find your answer in congressional pursuits leading to Wuhan? Think again. Try your inquiry somewhere closer, and easier to home.
