Once again, the office of Inspector General has come up with a huge hole in the Department of Defense with a missing $6.5 trillion. The day before 911, Rumsfeld admitted there was back then $2.3 trillion missing from the Defense Department budget. That has now grown to $6.5 trillion and counting. They have reported that the “Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Financial Management & Comptroller) (OASA[FM&C]) and the Defense Finance and Accounting Service Indianapolis (DFAS Indianapolis) did not adequately support $2.8 trillion in third quarter journal voucher (JV) adjustments and $6.5 trillion in yearend JV adjustments¹ made to AGF data during FY 2015 financial statement compilation.² The unsupported JV adjustments occurred because OASA(FM&C) and DFAS Indianapolis did not prioritize correcting the system deficiencies that caused errors resulting in JV adjustments, and did not provide sufficient guidance for supporting system‑generated adjustments.”

Let face the truth. Government is incapable of managing even a bubblegum machine. They are completely hopeless. This money is lining the pockets of unknown people and it is funding unknown military operations. When will enough ever be enough? While the press micro-manages every word Trump utters, not a single one will every investigate the massive government waste. Under the Obama Administration, the total government spending on budget increased from $2.9 trillion to$3.9 trillion or about 32% while the off-budget increased 66%. This does not include the Quantitative Easing buying in debt by the Federal Reserve.

Many people may ask, what is off-budget? The answer to this is our real crisis. The two Social Security trust funds and the Postal Service are “off-budget” meaning that this spending and receipts are walled off from the rest of the budget. However, Social Security and the Post Office “off-budget” shields them from some budget pressures. Nevertheless, policymakers will often focus on the unified budget that includes them. A few other agencies are excluded because of their independence (e.g., the Federal Reserve) or private character (e.g., government-sponsored, privately owned entities and funds managed for private citizens). Note that it is this area which grew 66% under the Obama Administration.

Obamacare will add $110 billion in 2016 costs. Congress enacted a two-year delay of a 40% on expensive employer-based plans, known as the Cadillac Tax, that CBO projects will cost the government $18 billion over 10 years. Benefits to employees will be taxed.  The healthcare industry is pricing itself out of business. It is now a $3 trillion industry that has infiltrated government to ensure they get their pound of flesh.  Under current estimated, this will reach $5 trillion by 2022. There is nothing restraining the rising cost now under Obamacare.

COMMENT: Marty; When they locked you up I read it somewhere that you were the man who knew too much. Your latest piece “Why the Republican Neoconservatives Really Support Hillary” could not have been written by someone from the outside looking in. Why do you not advise Trump?

REPLY: They would twist my stand against the banks as a detriment for Trump as if he is not controversial enough. I have other things to do. I made a choice long ago between trying to move government from the inside or just trying to move from the outside in. Working on the inside taught me a lot. I met so many people in the headlines today I cannot count them all. I have been to political diners and testified before Congress. Trying to make a difference inside is a fools game. It cannot be done.

Feel free to send that piece to the Trump campaign. If he articulated the real battle of nation-building as the criteria for being “conservative” (not economic), he might be able to turn the tide. But I seriously doubt that the press will cover it. This has become a real war, but it is mainstream press against the people.

This is no different than the press war between Pulitzer and Hearst who started the Spanish American War to sell papers when the sinking of the Maine was never an act of war but an accident. This is why Pulitzer tried to reshape his image after death taking his blood money and creating the Pulitzer Prize. It is ironic that the most prestigious prize in journalism is named by the father of Yellow Journalism.
