Trump on Vaccine Mandates and Political Division

Armstrong Economics Blog/Politics Re-Posted Jan 15, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

Former President Donald Trump told reporters at NPR that he believes the pandemic will eventually “phase out.” Although he has come under pressure for supporting the vaccine, he indicated that he does not support mandates. “The vaccines, I recommend taking them, but I think that has to be an individual choice. I mean, it’s got to be individual, but I recommend taking them. Many people recommend them. And if some people don’t want, they shouldn’t have to take them,” Trump stated. In fact, Trump clearly states that he does not understand why healthy individuals are continuing to take the vaccine.

As for mandates, he sees the effect that they are having on the US economy. “Well, first of all, the mandate is really hurting our country. Now that’s advice to an administration more so than to the Americans. A lot of Americans aren’t standing for it, and it’s hurting our country. It’s hurting our economy very badly.”

When the conversation moved to the allegedly stolen 2020 US Presidential Election, Trump admitted that his own party did not support him. “Mitch McConnell is a loser. And frankly, Mitch McConnell, if he were on the other side and if Schumer were put in his position, he would have been fighting this like you’ve never seen before. He would have been fighting this, because when you look at it, and this is long — is a long way from over,” the former US president said.

Trump questioned how Joe Biden managed to obtain 80 million votes “sitting in his basement.” The interview abruptly ended after the NPR reported questioned him on the Capitol “siege” on January 6. Trump has been largely silenced since he was scrubbed from social media while in office. One interesting thing here is that the former president said that the GOP does not stand a chance of winning the midterm elections unless they continue to insist on a probe into the allegedly stolen election. The Democrats have already divided themselves, but it remains to be seen whether the GOP (not including Romney) will follow suit.

CDC to Study Ivermectin Treatment

Armstrong Economics Blog/Corruption Re-Posted Jan 15, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

The CDC will finally begin testing ivermectin as a treatment for the coronavirus (fast forward to around the 17:00 mark). Doctors and health professionals have been urging officials to approve of ivermectin as it has proven to be effective in diminishing symptoms.

The ongoing joke was that conspiracy theorists were taking horse paste (ivermectin) rather than the expensive options offered by doctors. In August 2021, the Food and Drug Administration tweeted, “You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it.” Fauci urged the public not to take the drug to treat coronavirus, despite other countries using it effectively. “It’s tragic, because you don’t want to see anybody, regardless of what their position is or their ideology, you don’t want to see anybody get sick and die, particularly as a physician and scientist,” Fauci managed to say.

It was never about health. The drug companies will find a way to take an affordable medication and turn it into a lucrative business venture. It is obvious why it took over two years for the health community to take ivermectin seriously.

Yes, the White House occupant’s week was so bad, even CNN couldn’t ignore it.  WATCH:

Epic, Must Watch – Dutch Wolverine Throws Sand Into the Propaganda of Prime Minister Mark Rutte

In the Netherlands the typically high-brow, polite and social society has been a little shocked at how the Dutch proles have begun to express anger toward the totalitarian dictates of the professional political class.

Amid this class-driven über-sensitive social fabric, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte is now in the tenuous position of holding a governmental system together with a coalition of disparate leftist groups who are, well, a little eclectic all things considered.

As noted recently “One of the biggest challenges for the new government is the rise in public mistrust and anger towards politics and politicians.  The Netherlands has seen some of Europe’s biggest opposition and protests against government COVID-19 policy. Many Dutch lawmakers say they don’t feel safe. Some of them now have to be protected by police around the clock – a shock in a country where ministers often ride bicycles rather than use their official cars.” (link)

The land of skinny pant beta males has, as the most sensitive progressives would expect, put women into all of the systems of government to showcase their civic investment and high-minded multicultural progress.  The Netherlands is the type of place where Davos attendees feel comfy sipping filtered dew from the petals of spring tulips and discussing the best way to save the planet from the scourge of the shallow working class.  Okay, so that’s the context…

Into this mix comes a young Dutch wolverine, a new Member of Parliament named Gideon van Meijeren; who appears to be a rather cheeky rebel, quite comfortable telling the elite they look silly. THIS you have to watch to appreciate (Direct Rumble Link):

DIRECTV Announces They Are Cancelling OAN News Because of The Network Political Alignment

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on January 14, 2022 | Sundance | 298 Comments

The remarkable aspect to this announcement is the openness of DirecTV’s admission.

Following on the heels of the demand from the White House to start blocking content against the interests of the Biden administration, DirecTV the satellite television communication company now part of the AT&T network, has announced their decision to drop the One America News Network (OANN) channel because OAN is perceived to be supportive of Donald Trump.

(Bloomberg) – DirecTV, one of the largest U.S. pay-TV providers, plans to drop One America News Network, dealing a major blow to the conservative channel that’s been criticized for spreading misinformation and had a loyal fan in former President Donald Trump.

The satellite-TV provider has notified OAN’s owner, Herring Networks Inc., that it plans to stop carrying the company’s two channels when their contract expires. Herring Networks also owns AWE, a lifestyle channel that stands for “A Wealth of Entertainment.”

“We informed Herring Networks that, following a routine internal review, we do not plan to enter into a new contract when our current agreement expires,” the company said in an emailed statement to Bloomberg News.

DirecTV’s contract with Herring Networks expires in early April, according to a person familiar with the matter. Herring Networks didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. (read more)

Given the fact that Joe Biden only holds support of somewhere around 30% of the country, this move by AT&T/DirecTV is quite remarkable.

One would think that someone in the corporate boardroom, perhaps someone associated with the best business decision, would give pause to any consideration of kowtowing to the demands of cancel culture.

Alas, it seems that voice was not present, or at least insignificant to the objectives of the corporate decisionmakers.

Any corporation making politics the central point of their business intent is automatically reducing the potential audience by half.   There must be a strongly declining business model for the satellite broadcasting industry as a whole in order to make such a decision.

Perhaps the subscription-based entertainment and news alternatives have eroded the baseline for the TV business.  I genuinely do not know.  However, on its face, this type of a corporate decision seems like financial suicide.

Even DirecTV customers who may not watch OAN, yet retain some reasonable disposition to see a slippery slope as it becomes evident, are likely to view this decision negatively.

Regardless of the internal or background conversation, one thing is certain, DirecTV will lose more customers than it will gain.  That is just a predictable outcome whenever you make political affiliation a litmus for a product.

Go Woke – Get Broke” gains yet another victim.

Big Tech Responds to Joe Biden Request

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on January 14, 2022 | Sundance | 313 Comments

There are no coincidences in politics; there are only people who recognize them, and people who do not.

Yesterday, the biggest fraudulent and heavily managed autocrat in modern American political history gave instructions to his fellow travelers in Big Tech, and I quote:

“I make a special appeal to social media companies and media outlets: Please deal with the misinformation and disinformation that’s on your shows.  It has to stop.”   ~ Joe Biden

Today, they begin responding:

(The Story of the “Infraction” is Here)

Some may see this as coincidental timing (you would be amazed at the number of people willfully blind to how the system of controlled communication works in the modern era); for the rest of us who accept things as they are – not as we need to pretend them to be, we can see the patterns as they develop.  We are engaged in information warfare.

Another important example from today is highlighted below.

(Via Washington Post) A coalition of hundreds of doctors and public health experts have called out Spotify for allowing Joe Rogan to spread “false and societally harmful assertions” about the coronavirus and vaccination on the streaming platform that hosts his wildly popular podcast.

In an open letter published Monday, more than 270 medical professionals urge Spotify to stop “enabling its hosted media to damage public trust in scientific research and sow doubt in the credibility of data-driven guidance.” Rogan, whose show reaches an estimated audience of 11 million people an episode, has repeatedly downplayed the need for coronavirus vaccines and used his platform to flirt with misinformation about covid-19.

“Though Spotify has a responsibility to mitigate the spread of misinformation on its platform, the company presently has no misinformation policy,” the group wrote in the letter, which was first reported by Rolling Stone this week. “Throughout the covid-19 pandemic, Joe Rogan has repeatedly spread misleading and false claims on his podcast, provoking distrust in science and medicine.” (read more)

♦ “History may not always repeat, but it rhymes.”   The United States in 2022 is Poland in the early 1980’s under Soviet influence.   We the citizens are engaged in an information war against our own government.   The difference between then and now is Big Tech and the communications platforms that have been infiltrated by communist agents.

The battle is the same, the battlefield is what’s different.

We are in an abusive relationship with our government.

Accept the nature of the relationship and modify your behavior and communication strategies accordingly.

Know what targeting methods the enemy uses; then, seek to develop strategies that are invisible to the oppressor.

Think like an insurgent.

Put another way,… if the pod under your bed malfunctioned, but the pods under all the other beds in the city worked, what happens when you awaken and realize you are not one of them, but you must engage in the world of them while looking for others -like yourself- whose pods hopefully malfunctioned?

This is the challenge for communication in 2022.

This is what you need to think about as you become a force multiplier.

Eyes of a mouse, ears of an elephant.

Exactly This Is What You Need to Look For

Posted originally on the Conservative Tree House on January 14, 2022 | Sundance | 797 Comments

(h/t No9 CoalThis is specifically the #1 precursor, for all the reasons previously mentioned.

Do not be alarmed; be prudent.

What are you seeing in your area?

Feel free to note in the comments section what is happening in your area.  Hopefully, most of us are much better positioned than the average person who has not been following this as closely over the past several months.

Initial food instability signs in the supply chain.  Things to look for:

(1) A shortage of processed potatoes (frozen specifically).

1.a And/Or a shortage of the ancillary products that are derivatives of, or normally include, potatoes.

(2) A larger than usual footprint of turkey/ham in the supermarket (last lines of protein).

(3) A noticeable increase in the price of citrus products.

(4) A sparse distribution of foodstuffs that rely on flavorings (sports drinks).

(5) The absence of non-seasonal products.

(6) Little to no price difference on the organic comparable (diff supply chain)

(7) Unusual country of origin for fresh product type.

(8) Absence of large container products

(9) Shortage of any ordinary but specific grain derivative item (ex. wheat crackers)

(10) Big brand shortage.

(11) Shortage of wet pet foods

(12) Shortage of complex blended products with multiple ingredients (soups etc)

(13) A consistent shortage of milk products and/or ancillaries.

These notes above are all precursors that show significant stress in the supply chain.  Once these issues are consistently visible, we will likely continue toward food instability very quickly, sector by sector, category by category.

The reason I list the shortage of potatoes as the #1 precursor is because every food outlet sells a potato in some form. Every supermarket and every single restaurant (fancy, sit down or fast food) sells some form of potato. Potatoes are demanded by every single food outlet; therefore, a shortage of potatoes is the first noticeable issue.

Three down, seven to go.  New York Representative John Katko was one of the ten House Republicans who voted to impeach President Trump.  Today he announces he will not seek reelection.

“After 32 years of public service, I have decided not to seek re-election to Congress, so that I can enjoy my family and life in a fuller and more present way,” Katko, 59, said in a statement. (link)

John Katko joins Adam Kinzinger and Anthony Gonzalez as three of the DeceptiCons who will exit after detonating their political suicide vests.  The next co-host of The View will be joining them after Wyoming ditches her in the primary.

Abject Madness – Australian Immigration Minister Alex Hawke Cancels Visa of Novak Djokovic, Will Be Deported From Australian Open Tennis Tournament

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on January 14, 2022 | Sundance | 456 Comments

The Australian Open is scheduled to begin January 17th in Melbourne, the epicenter of Australia’s totalitarian COVID mandates.  Australia granted unvaccinated tennis superstar Novak Djokovic a visa to compete.  Australian border officials then attempted to block his entry and deport him because he was unvaccinated.

Novak Djokovic took the issue to the federal court in Australia and won his legal case against the Australian government.  However, earlier today Australian Immigration Minister Alex Hawke unilaterally cancelled his visa.

Under Australian law, Immigration Minister Hawke has almost unfettered powers to cancel a visa making any legal challenge to the decision very difficult.  The official statement from Alex Hawke is AVAILABLE HERE.

Today I exercised my power under section 133C(3) of the Migration Act to cancel the visa held by Mr Novak Djokovic on health and good order grounds, on the basis that it was in the public interest to do so.  This decision followed orders by the Federal Circuit and Family Court on 10 January 2022, quashing a prior cancellation decision on procedural fairness grounds.

In making this decision, I carefully considered information provided to me by the Department of Home Affairs, the Australian Border Force and Mr Djokovic. The Morrison Government is firmly committed to protecting Australia’s borders, particularly in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. (read more)

Sky News has the following article: […] Following a federal court’s decision to overturn the original decision to cancel Djokovic’s visa, the government indicated it would consider using ministerial discretion to deport the Serbian tennis star.

Following days of delay, Mr Hawke finally announced his decision under Migration Act which gives the minister full discretion to deport a person.  Mr Hawke said the cancellation of Djokovic’s visa was made on the grounds of “health and good order” as well as on the basis of the “public interest”.
