If nothing else, Israel, remains a strategically located nation, and any damage to Israel, could ignite the Middle East and/or, upset maritime in the region and global commerce. It is insane that Obama would do something so stupid unless, his Muslim faith compels him to harm Israel. Churchill knew what he was doing, and it went back to 1919 in France post WW1, when it was recognized the Jordanians in Palestine, would eventually cause harm to commerce and instability. Hence, the land was seeded with European refugees who were Jewish. Nobody could contest the Bible, and the Hebrews, who were now, Jewish. In modern time, Israel needs a close regional ally, such as Egypt. It strengthens the regional stability. In the grand scheme of global situations, it remains, common sense.
