Biden Announces Ban on Russian Oil Imports, Simultaneous With US Gasoline Prices Hitting Record High

line hit $4.173, according to the American Automobile Association, with many regions now far exceeding that price.  It is not uncommon to see $5/gal gasoline in many areas.

Against this backdrop, Joe Biden announced today that his administration is banning the import of oil, liquified natural gas (LNG) and coal from Russia.  [We do not import LNG or coal from Russia, so that political point is moot.]  You can read the executive order HERE.

The executive order also bans any U.S. entity from investing or facilitating the investment of Russian energy development.  That section explains why there were earlier reports of Oil companies withdrawing from Russia.  They were obviously given a heads up.

The way the order is currently written, and a lot of it has to do with extremely generous interpretations by the U.S. Treasury Dept., it would appear that any energy company currently operating in the U.S. cannot simultaneously be operating in Russia (or be part of the subsidizing and insurance network that supports energy development in Russia).  The Treasury interpretations here are fraught with complexity.

The part that matters is boiled down in this section:

(i)    the importation into the United States of the following products of Russian Federation origin:  crude oil; petroleum; petroleum fuels, oils, and products of their distillation; liquefied natural gas; coal; and coal products;

(ii)   new investment in the energy sector in the Russian Federation by a United States person, wherever located; and

(iii)  any approval, financing, facilitation, or guarantee by a United States person, wherever located, of a transaction by a foreign person where the transaction by that foreign person would be prohibited by this section if performed by a United States person or within the United States.

     (b)  The prohibitions in subsection (a) of this section apply except to the extent provided by statutes, or in regulations, orders, directives, or licenses that may be issued pursuant to this order, and notwithstanding any contract entered into or license or permit granted prior to the date of this order.  (LINK)

The European Union cannot cut themselves off from Russian oil and natural gas.  Europe relies on imports for 90% of its gas and 97% of its oil products. Russia supplies 40% of Europe’s gas and a quarter of its oil. {source}  Essentially, China and the EU will continue to be the largest purchasers of Russian energy.

The White House is looking to replace Russian oil by purchasing from Venezuela, Iran and, to a lesser extent, Saudi Arabia.   In some ways, you can look at this oil purchase shift as a continuation of President Obama’s intent to exfiltrate American wealth.  Iran and Venezuela become the favored nations again, as they were in the Obama-Biden administration 2009-2017.

Ideologues who have always operated in the background of Biden are working on the same program to consign the U.S. economy as a permanent “service driven economy.”  The difference now is the rapid speed of their policy outcomes, because Biden is disposable.

Biden-Obama, and all that come with them, are working through an ideological plan.  All of these consequences and outcomes are features, not flaws.

$7/gal gas is likely this summer (if not sooner), that’s around $180 to $200 barrel oil price.

$10/gal gas appears to be their ‘Build Back Better‘ target price with oil around $250/barrel.

The Russia-Ukraine ‘crisis’ just helps them justify and speed up the process they already had underway.   I would argue the speed of their action is driven by their concern of a mid-term election outcome that might impede the bigger objective.

Who Are the Oligarchs?

Armstrong Economics Blog/Politics Re-Posted Mar 8, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

(Photo: Former President Obama’s private yacht)

The word “oligarch” leads some to believe that these rich individuals are part of a mysterious underground society. The Oxford dictionary defines an oligarchy as “a small group of people having control of a country, organization, or institution,” and oligarchs are those who have profited off of the regime – in this case, Putin’s.

Is there a difference between a very wealthy American businessman who has profited off of American capitalism under [insert president here]? Technically, there is not as anyone can condemn another’s political system. America’s democracy has certainly come under fire by many leaders, primarily in the Middle East who have stated America is akin to a mafia organization. Trudeau showed us Canada is not above freezing individual accounts without Due Process. Our governments have exposed themselves throughout this pandemic, especially by letting us know they are not above coercion and silencing free speech.

So while many cheer the asset forfeiture of the evil Russian oligarchs, make no mistake about it that other nations can and will use this new tactic of war in the future. Governments can not only seize their citizens’ assets but have the ability to freeze international capital. How could anyone feel safe investing in a Western nation if their assets will not be protected? These Russian citizens can have their assets seized without proof that have any ties to Putin.

The wealthy citizens are always the first to flee when a city or nation is failing.

As I have stated, this will totally destroy the world economy as we know it. Foreign investment in Russia will be seized, and the prospect of this migrating to China is extremely high. A line has been crossed. You do not go after the assets of private individuals claiming they are holding personal money for Putin. That would be akin to saying someone was holding money for any politician simply because they live under that leader’s rule.

Putin Offers Peace – Zelensky Declines

Armstrong Economics Blog/War Re-Posted Mar 7, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

Reliable sources have confirmed that Putin offered to stop the war instantly if Kyiv give up its army, change its constitution to become a permanently neutral country in accordance with the Budapest Agreement, and acknowledge Crimea as part of Russia along with Luhansk and Donetsk are to be free separate republics. Zelensky has refused. Luhansk and Donetsk have been fighting for their freedom ever since the 2014 Ukrainian Revolution. This is what was to be settled in the Minsk Agreement which has been dragging out for 8 years.

The real question many Ukrainians now have is Zelensky was elected promising to ease tensions with Russia but he has done the opposite even cutting off the water supply to Crimea. Should the Ukrainian people vote on this offer? Why put the country at risk for those provinces that are 98% Russian, to begin with? The fear has been that Zelensky is really a poppet for the West that wants a confrontation with Putin. They have created an Iron Curtain in the financial world and that is now simply becoming permanent. Russians are being discriminated against in Western Europe and America to the point that such bad blood has now taken place that the world is dividing and there is no return to normal. This is not just a new Financial Iron Curtain with Russia, we are looking at the same reaction with China that will support Russia at the end of the day.

China’s top diplomat just accused Washington of trying to create an Asian version of the U.S.-European NATO military alliance joining Japan, India, and Australia to create a similar NATO-like Asian block. He further warned that it is up to the Biden administration to improve relations with North Korea.

We are NOT on a path toward world peace. There is nobody interested in trying to reduce tension. Everything now is name-calling and hostility on every front.

The Coming WWIII

Armstrong Economics Blog/War re-Posted Mar 7, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

While people rush to kiss the feet of Zelensky, even some Ukrainians are now concerned that he is a puppet dragging their country to destruction all over Donbas. I have warned that this is going to turn into WWIII. China has now come out and warned the USA against trying to build what it called a Pacific version of NATO while declaring that security disputes over Taiwan and Ukraine were “not comparable at all.” They too are logging the same complaints against the US as Putin for creating biological weapons labs on their borders as well.

There are serious allegations that this is all being carried out to try to force Russia and China into the Great Reset and to comply with the United Nations’ mandates for climate change. It is hard to say whether these allegations are true or false. As always, time reveals the truth. But the WEF, which had claimed that Putin was a Young Global Leader, rejected that and shifted to supporting Zelensky also pushing for a continued war that Ukraine cannot win unless it gets so bad that they use this to justify NATO entering Ukraine.

My concern is that their mistake is they think they can take down Russia and then turn to China. Our model warns that that will be a fatal mistake, and China will join Russia.

Kyiv Airport Destoryed

Armstrong Economics Blog/War Re-Posted Mar 7, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

he Kyiv Airport was destroyed to prevent the West from flying in military equipment. This is the same strategy as singing ships from America to Britain with military arms in World War I. There are a lot of Ukrainians who are not supporting Zelensky. He ran promising to make peace with Russia and he was elected like Trump because he was not a politician. The resentment coming from some Ukrainians is that feel that Zelensky is now a puppet to promote war. All he had to do was agree to a ceasefire, yield Donbas which the US has been covertly supporting the civil war, and save Ukraine as a nation. But the refusal to yield Donbas was against the wishes of the West.

The danger here is that the people of Ukraine flip and see that they have been merely a pawn in a proxy war between the West and Russia. This can only get worse for there is no great peacemaker today. I do not like what our computer is forecasting, but I suppose we are just headed into a war that will escalate and will be not something we just watch on TV safe and sound from the real events as if this were another action movie.

Colonel Douglas Macgregor Provides Updated Perspective on Ukraine Status

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on March 7, 2022

Col Douglas Macgregor is about the only person who has given an honest account of what is happening on the ground in Ukraine that actually makes sense with the known set of facts. Almost all other analysis of the Russia-Ukraine conflict is fraught with NATO wishes and rainbow analysis to make things seem like Ukraine can win as an insurgent force.

A very pragmatic Macgregor notes the situation boils down to what kind of a nation state Vladimir Putin wants intact when his military operations are over. It’s a good review of the current state of affairs. {Direct Rumble LinkWATCH:

The Little Red Lyin’ Twit Says Biden Will Try To Reduce Impact of Rising Oil Prices, but Won’t Unleash U.S. Energy Resources

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on March 7, 2022

White House Press Secretary Jennifer Psaki said today the Biden administration will try to reduce the impact of rising oil prices for American consumers but will not do anything to allow increased production of U.S. energy resources.

Oh, and it’s all Vladimir Putin’s fault, WATCH:

I’ll keep repeating it, because many people just don’t understand the unique nature of our North American position.  Energy resources are nation specific.  Ireland, the U.K, Europe, or Australia, do not have abundant oil and natural gas deposits like the U.S. does.  ANWAR has more oil than Saudi Arabia.

A U.S. president can and does control the price of gasoline.  What can a U.S. President and administration specifically do?  We have abundant U.S. energy resources.  Quite literally the strongest in the entire world.

  • Permit the use of preexisting approved leases in ANWAR (Alaska) to put more volume into the Alaskan oil pipeline that is severely underutilized.
  • Finish the Dakota access pipeline.
  • Re-approve the preexisting energy leases in New Mexico, Arizona, NE Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico.
  • Retract the stoppage of the Keystone pipeline to permit efficient oil transport shipments from Canada.
  • Stop blocking the expansion of coastal oil refineries in Texas, Louisiana and Alabama (regulatory issue), as well as Northwest, Northeast and Southeast Seaboard.
  • Continue to develop natural gas as a clean burning fuel.
  • Drive Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) as an export.

.Unfortunately, this would mean reversing the entire energy policy of the current administration.  The existing energy inflation and high prices of oil, natural gas and gasoline are a direct and intentional part of Joe Biden’s policy.  That policy is driven by the leftist demand for a “green new deal.”

None of the actions above require any approval from OPEC.  Strategically, the ‘all of the above’ approach enhances U.S. national security and diminishes the influence of Russia, China and Iran.  Within six months of the above, gasoline will plummet.

Oil Prices Pass $115 Barrel, White House Jen Psaki Says Russia To Blame for Joe Biden Gas Prices

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on March 4, 2022

Within the book of instructions for the ideological Chicago crew (Alinsky peeps), there are chapters on how to create off-ramps to cloud their agenda. If they need a bigger cloud, they create a bigger crisis. The crisis then becomes the cover, the justification to explain the outcomes of their agenda.

In the latest example, the White House is shifting blame for massive gas price increases and overall U.S. inflation.  The crisis in Ukraine then takes on a geopolitical angle and a domestic angle.  Last year’s doubling of gas prices and the current increases are now being blamed on Russia.  WATCH:

If they keep doing this, and the Ukraine conflict continues, you’ll be amazed at how many Americans will forget everything before (Biden policy) and believe all things bad in the economy are Russia’s fault.

The Russia-Ukraine conflict, World War Reddit, now becomes the cover story for why the U.S. economy is collapsing.  The pain being felt by middle class, blue-collar workers is now shifted to be an outcome of geopolitical events that are Vladimir Putin’s fault. It’s always someone else’s fault.

Do not underestimate how many people in the U.S. will buy into this nonsense, and keep in mind the Republican wing of the UniParty has a vested interest in allowing the narrative to embed in the psyche of voters.  Both wings of the DC vulture will help promote this fraud, just as both wings of the DC UniParty sold out our Main Street economy on behalf of their multinational benefactors.

The European crisis around Russia-Ukraine also helps the manipulative ideologues in the World Economic Forum (WEF), World Bank (WB), International Monetary Fund (IMF) and central banking system create a deflection of the bigger economic crisis created by their COVID agenda and the Great Reset.

The influence agents and multinationals, those who direct the politicians on what policies to execute on a domestic and geopolitical scale, benefit from these obfuscations and false narratives.

The amount of money the multinationals have taken from the economy into their centralized (and sometimes personal) control is obscured by the deployment of these distractions.

Q    What should Americans be braced for?  What could they possibly be facing?  The President has already said Americans will be facing some economic fallout or some hardships.  Can you explain to Americans what exactly will they face if this happened?

KAMALA HARRIS: Sure.  As the President talked about in his speech, we are aware that, again, when America stands for her principles and all of the things that we hold dear, it requires sometimes for us to put ourselves out there in a way that maybe we will incur some cost.  And in this situation, that may relate to energy costs, for example.  But we are taking very specific and appropriate, I believe, steps to mitigate what that cost might be if it happens. (LINK)

The economic consequences from climate change policy were always considered the biggest hurdle.  The pain that would be felt by the working class folks, would need to be managed.  This is the reason why false justifications for economic pain are collectively pushed by media.  The media do not need to be told what to do, they already know the larger goal is pretending not to know things.

As a result, the domestic political elites are managing the pitchforks by distracting voters about the cause.  If you do not buy into their obtuse justifications, well, you then become a target – ergo, a conspiracy theorist.

Climate change policy is a tool, a means to an end.

COVID-19 policy is a tool, a means to an end.

Russia-Ukraine policy becomes a tool, a means to an end.

Behind all the layers of obfuscation, you find all the individual roadmaps converge onto a single path that leads to centralized control.
