Comrade Neil Oliver Discusses Living as a Dissident Through Orwellian Times

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on May 7, 2022 | Sundance

Comrades, in his weekly monologue Neil Oliver walks through the stages of mental exhaustion the corrupt globalists have created in order to retain power.  Looking at the landscape through the prism of George Orwell’s prescient warnings, Oliver ponders if the mirrored reality is actually their roadmap.

The Ministry of Abundance positioned to discharge the pending scarcity.  The Ministry of Peace now used to carry out wars without authority.  The Ministry of Truth purposefully created to retain lies…. and so it goes.  Indeed as the warning was predicted, even “to wear an improper expression on your face (to look incredulous when a victory was announced, for example) was itself a punishable offense. There was even a word for it in Newspeak, facecrime it was called.”

The Global Ministry of Nutrition now instructs us to enjoy the benefits of eating bugs, slugs and “lab-grown meat” amid rising costs of farming. The Ministry of Residential Equity promotes the benefits of tiny houses; shared space cubicles where owning nothing leads to increased happiness.  The Ministry of Education replaces academic endeavors with emotional learning.  Math replaced by pansexual dance lessons for the non-binary kindergarteners.   Smile Comrade, smile.  WATCH:

[Transcript] “Given all that’s happened, I might have expected overwhelming anger in the country by now, loud calls for answers and apologies. Promises that mistakes made in the recent past, liberties taken, would not be repeated in the future. Also maybe demands for change.

Many are the dissenting voices – I know because I hear them every day – but the silencing and ridiculing still goes on.

What I sense around me most of all now, however, is weariness. Council elections have been held up and down Great Britain and apart from anything else, I think we can agree that turnout was low.”

In some polling stations in Hull, for example, turnout was down at 12 per cent apparently. In terms of numbers taking part, exercising their democratic right, it was a damp squib all over.

As so often happens in these plebiscites, the day-to-day rule of the many has been decided by the relatively few who could even be bothered to vote. Among that minority are fervently committed activists, of course, those who see and know that power belongs to those who can be bothered.

Most people are not activists though. Most people have more than enough to do just keeping their heads above water. This depressing state of affairs is hardly surprising. In spite of the media’s attempts to whip up excitement about the results, local council elections have been a lacklustre non-event.

I think it’s getting worse, however. I trotted along to my local polling station and made my marks on the paper. It took some effort though. Along with so many people, I’m sure, I looked at the list of names and parties and thought, “What’s the point? What difference will it make?” I looked at the names and knew what the results would be even as I went through the motions of completing my vote.

We hear a lot of use now of the word, Orwellian. It refers to the English journalist and author George Orwell, of course – he of The Road to Wigan Pier, Animal Farm and 1984 and much else besides. I have a podcast in which, for the fun of it, I invite listeners to imagine that reading history is as close to time travel as a person might get. As the years go by, I wonder more and more if George Orwell wasn’t actually a time traveller for real – so right has he proven to be about where decisions made, and actions taken, in the 20th century would lead future generations.

In Animal Farm, his fable about Communism, he predicted the abuse of trust and the exploitation of power. Once the pigs have control of the farm, they immediately set about taking advantage of their situation. When the other animals notice, for instance, that the pigs are taking all the milk and apples for themselves, while everyone else must eat tasteless slop, the pigs’ PR spokesman – called Squealer – explains the move is backed by science:

“Comrades,” he tells them, “You do not imagine, I hope, that we pigs are doing this in a spirit of selfishness and privilege? Many of us actually dislike apples. I dislike them myself. Our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health. Milk and apples – this has been proved by science, comrades – contain substances absolutely necessary to the wellbeing of a pig. We are brainworkers. The whole management and organisation of the farm depends on us.”

I read those lines again and think about the Science we have heard so much about recently. I think too about all the news stories about how good it will be for us as well to eat bugs and lab-grown meat, instead of the good stuff. That’s science too, don’t you know. Then I read about Bill Gates being the biggest owner of farmland in the US and wonder if it will be bugs and lab-grown meat he will produce from all those acres, or maybe cattle for sirloins and corn on the cob for the barbecue. Who could say?

Energy giant E.ON recently sent pairs of polyester socks to customers with the message:

“Energy down – CO2 down”. Those literally in control of the power have been telling people to wear more clothes to fend off the cold, rather than have heating in their homes.

All the while this is going on, oil and gas companies report record profits and bountiful dividends for shareholders.

Follow the science … or follow the money. You choose.

In Animal Farm, before the revolution, the pigs promised the animals that in future they would have electric light in their stalls, hot water as well as cold. Later on, once the pigs have control of the farm, such ideas are silenced. Napoleon, the leader of the pigs, says such notions are contrary to the spirit of Animalism, which is their ideology. He tells them the truest happiness lies in working hard and living frugal lives.

You will own nothing, a person might hear, and you will be happy.

I read about socks in the mail from energy companies. I read about MPs awarding themselves a pay rise in excess of £2,000 a year.

I listen to Boris Johnson justifying tax hikes and the rest.

Asked by a reporter: “What would you say to families trying to make ends meet? Buy cheaper food? Don’t replace clothes? Turn down the thermostat or turn it off altogether? What should people do?”

Boris Johnson answered: “People are obviously going to face choices that they are going to have to make.”

Frugal lives. Napoleon the pig would be proud.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t expect to see Boris Johnson, or Sir Keir Starmer or the rest of them waiting until the end of the day to hit the supermarkets in search of foods reduced to clear. I don’t expect to hear about them choosing between eating and heating.

In 1984, Orwell’s novel about a dystopian future in which the population is kept in a state of perpetual fear, on account of perpetual war with an enemy they never see, he wrote about how inconvenient facts and truth are “memory holed” which is to say, made to disappear. The protagonist is Winston Smith, who works in the Ministry of Truth. Among other state departments there is a Ministry of Plenty, which is actually a ministry of starvation, dedicated to keeping the people in a state of perpetual poverty, scarcity, and food shortage.

In his booth in the Ministry of Truth there is a slot in the wall into which Winston must post any document featuring information that is inconvenient to the government. Such data disappears at that point, as though it had never been – unless of course there comes a time in the future when the information is actually useful to the government again, at which point it miraculously reappears.

Big pharma giant Pfizer have just released the next 80 thousand pages of data related to the trial of their vaccine. 80 thousand pages. Before barely a word of it is read, many are the voices insisting it’s time anyway to move on and forget. It turns out you don’t even need memory holes when information can hide in plain sight among a population too wearied and distracted by other, more recent problems and fears, to pay enough attention.

The very people who would have us move on unquestioningly – politicians, journalists and others – those who demanded lockdowns – longer and harder – are now in the habit of lamenting the harm done by such measures. All of a sudden those that were ardent cheerleaders for the measures that have done so much harm have the unmitigated gall to fret publicly about the economy, about damage to physical and mental health, to the education and physical and emotional development of children. That they were the ones shouting loudest that we should “suck it up” and “cancel Christmas” to save Granny and the NHS, is information that seems to have been shoveled by the barrow load into the nearest memory hole.

I won’t forget, though. And neither will millions of others.

And in among all of this, ordinary tax-paying law-abiding people are simply and understandably exhausted. After two years of fear and anxiety and obeying rules that made no sense to them, many are on their knees. Into this climate of exhaustion came the local elections and, surprise, surprise, most people had energy only for going to work and feeding their families. And in this way, enervating patterns are repeated.

Another writer, Elena Ghorokova, wrote a memoir about life in the Soviet Union called A Mountain of Crumbs. In it she described how the population was ground down by fear, want, and hardship until people found they could cope best by pretending.

The joke about their relationship with the state boiled down to: “They pretend to pay us, and we pretend to work.”

The state was lying to the people. The people knew they were being lied to. The state knew the people knew they were being lied to. And still the state lied. It was all a great pretense played by people with power against those with none. And just in order to survive, the mass of the population played their part by joining in the pretense.

Many people are simply at the ends of their tethers – and why wouldn’t they be? We look at our politicians and would-be councillors – at Conservatives, and then at Labour, and then at Lib Dems and the rest. We look from one to the other – at those who called for lockdowns – which is to say prominent members of every party – at those who wanted them in place quicker and harder and for longer. Now we see them clamour for more control, more censorship, more compliance. We look at each in turn and in our hearts and stomachs we wonder if it makes any difference who we choose because in truth they are all the same now.

By the end of Animal Farm, the pigs are walking upright on two legs and wearing human clothes. They carry whips in their trotters. In the final scene, they host a meeting with neighbouring human farmers – the same that they had once claimed to hate as the enemies of all animals. Four legs good, two legs bad, they had once said. The pigs live in the farmhouse now. The other animals, left on the outside, in the farmyard, watch the pigs and human farmers sitting around the table, toasting each other and making plans to cooperate in the future.

“The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again,” wrote Orwell. “But already it was impossible to say which was which.”

Is it just me, or does it feel like someone out there is using Orwell’s work not as a warning, but as an owner’s manual?”  (LINK)

Proxy War Update, Russia Targeting U.S. Military Equipment Arriving in Ukraine, Apparently with Some Success

Posted originally the conservative tree house on May 7, 2022 | Sundance

It doesn’t sound like a very complex military strategy on the part of Russia actually.  As the U.S. weapons convoys are pushed from Western Ukraine toward Eastern Ukraine (Donbas region) the Russians identify the locations and blow them up with cruise missiles.

It remains difficult to locate solid reporting on the ongoing Ukraine conflict, but somewhere between the western media disinformation about the heroic efforts to fight back – and the Russian claims of advanced success in the region, the truth must exist.  The challenge is finding the accurate information.

According to Reuters, “Russia’s defense ministry on Saturday said it had destroyed a large stockpile of military equipment from the United States and European countries near the Bohodukhiv railway station in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region. The ministry said it had hit 18 Ukrainian military facilities overnight, including three ammunition depots in Dachne, near the port city of Odesa.”  France24 seems to confirm this report.

Additionally, as to the Eastern Ukraine Alamo known as the Azovstal steel plant in the port city of Mariupol, it now appears all of the women and children (human shields) have been able to escape the facility and now the Russians will collapse the remaining Azov Battalion opposition. “Before the UN-led evacuation, about 200 civilians, including children, were estimated to still be trapped in the Soviet-era tunnels and bunkers beneath the factory, along with a group of Ukrainian soldiers making a last stand.” (link)

Yahoo News – “US President Joe Biden announces a new $150 million weapons package to Ukraine, including artillery munitions and radar, while urging Congress to pass a $33 billion aid package including $20 billion in military aid.

The new batch brings the total value of US weaponry sent by the Biden administration to Ukraine — including heavy artillery, shoulder-held Stinger anti-aircraft missiles and drones — to $3.8 billion since Russia invaded on February 24, says Secretary of State Antony Blinken.” (link)

WHITE HOUSE – […] With today’s announcement, my Administration has nearly exhausted funding that can be used to send security assistance through drawdown authorities for Ukraine. For Ukraine to succeed in this next phase of war its international partners, including the U.S., must continue to demonstrate our unity and our resolve to keep the weapons and ammunition flowing to Ukraine, without interruption. Congress should quickly provide the requested funding to strengthen Ukraine on the battlefield and at the negotiating table. (LINK)

The Washington Post reports, ” Biden has requested an additional $33 billion in Ukraine aid, nearly two-thirds of which would bededicated to security spending. Kirby has said that package should carry Ukraine through another five months of fighting. Congress has not yet approved the funding, and there are concerns about how quickly defense contractors would be able to meet the government’s demands to replenish U.S. stockpiles to ship Ukraine what it needs.

“This is pretty unprecedented, the amount of munitions that are being used right now,” the Pentagon’s acquisition chief, Bill LaPlante, told reporters Friday. […] International leaders appear to be bracing for an extended period of conflict, warning on Friday that the global threats posed by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could metastasize in the weeks and months ahead. European Union foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell told the Associated Press that he is “very much worried” Russia could try to invade Moldova, which borders Ukraine to the west.  (LINK)

It’s pretty obvious when you look at the contradictions that much of the Western media reporting is propaganda.  How could Russia be getting their butts kicked, and yet simultaneously gaining ground leading to western leaders saying more military hardware is urgently needed and the fighting will likely last a long time.  The two narratives carry a lot of contradiction.

It looks like Vladimir Putin’s military is simply playing whac-a-mole by destroying U.S. heavy weapons shipments as they arrive.  We send in artillery pieces; Russia blows them up in convoys or on railroad trains.

Everything is essentially guesswork at this time, but it doesn’t look like Russia is losing.

The western propaganda is extremely thick.  Much of the western effort is U.S. psychological operations, run from the Dept of State, using pictures and images to keep Americans supporting the proxy war.

An Important German Documentary on Ukraine

Armstrong Economics Blog/Ukraine Re-Posted May 7, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

This is a MUST-watch Documentary from a German journalist who has been on the ground. It is important to see the other side of events for anyone who only listens to one side, is denied the very idea of free thought.

A number of people asked to see an ECM on Zelensky himself. This lines up perfectly with the final wave for Ukraine as well between 2021 into 2025 where it is highly likely we will see war escalated post-2024. Zelensky got his staring role to pretend to be a comedian who became president in line with the ECM turning point 2016.75 which marked the peak in confidence in government globally. 2016 saw both Brexit and Trump win which were direct blows to the establishment.

The Ministry of Truth is Deeply Sinister and Orwellian

Armstrong Economics Blog/North America Re-Posted May 7, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

It is no secret that other nations see the president of the United States as a joke. In this video, Australian reporters are shocked that Biden openly laughed at a joke about record-high inflation. He is literally laughing AT you — the Great Unwashed. Sky News host Rita Panahi said The Ministry of Truth is “deeply sinister and Orwellian.” The corruption and tyranny have become so blatant that it is almost laughable — almost.

On April 25, 2022 – Twitter accepted Musk’s offer and two days later Biden took the same step as Hitler in establishing his ‘Disinformation Governance Board’ to fight ‘misinformation’ (a la George Orwell’s “Ministry of Truth”). Biden is clearly out to obstruct Musk and free speech.

Zelensky & World War III

Armstrong Economics Blog/Ukraine Re-Posted May 6, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

Our computer warned back in 2013 that Ukraine would be the place where World War III would begin. I warned that the ONLY way to prevent that was to split Ukraine based on the language. While the propaganda is that Kyiv is fighting for freedom and democracy, they have refused to allow Donbas to vote and recognize their independence. The hatred in the West of the Russian-speaking East is well documented. It stems from the period of Stalin’ starving of 7 million Ukrainians to pretend that Communism was working. The fact that Stalin was not Russian but a Georgian has been lost in the pages of history.

The Dnipro River was the border between the old Russian Empire and Ukraine. The East of that river was NEVER Ukrainian territory. It was assigned to Kyiv under the USSR for administrative purposes. Crimea was always Russian and was merely assigned to Kyiv in 1954 under the USSR. Nevertheless, we are to throw the entire world into war over this nonsense only because it serves the objectives of the Neocons and the World Economic Forum which cannot pull off this Great Reset without also overthrowing both the governments of Russia and China. Sorry to inform them that our computer has NEVER been wrong on geopolitical forecasts and it is written in stone, in the end, the West will lose to China, which has already stated that it is in a strategic partnership with Russia. SO while people die to fill Zelensky’s offshore accounts and I warned from the outset that he was the agent who would create World War III,  he has been preaching this is World War III to engulf the entire world for this territorial grab that is historically unjustified.

The Nazi Ukrainian troops are clinging to control of the steel plant in Mariupol. Our sources say that the Russian troops have breached their defenses and hand-to-hand combat is even taking place inside. They have asked for support from Kyiv, but so far that is not coming. This is the final stronghold and this fierce attack is to deliver the Kremlin a victory against the Nazis days ahead of a major Russian military holiday on Monday.

The steel plant is the last area in Mariupol still under Ukrainian control, and its fall would be a blow to Kyiv. Putin again called Macron for he is the only leader who appears to be interested in a peace agreement. Putin misjudged that the West NEEDS war with Russia and they are counting on the belief that he will not use nuclear weapons.

In reality, there are those who argue that the smartest thing that Russia could do is to take a lesson from the USA. The argument calls for the use of a small tactical nuke and take out Kyiv and then call the bluff of the USA and NATO. Would the West retaliate and go nuclear which would then result in Europe and the USA being in the direct line of fire? I doubt it. But once the US dropped the two bombs on Japan, that ended the war. With the Pelosi delegation saying there is no peace and only total victory with the defeat of Russia is acceptable, this will be another endless war.

What is important to understand is that 1 Hiroshima Bomb Explosion was equal to 0.01434034416826 Megatons of TNT. Today, Russia has more nukes than anyone, but just one is 100 megatons. One can take out the entire island of Britain. The people behind Putin would nuke Kyiv following the lesson of World War II betting that the West will not retaliate and destroy the entire world. We are certainly rolling the dice and our braindead world leaders do not seem to comprehend either the risk or strategy.

Zelensky has polarized the entire world. By him suddenly pretending to be a practicing Jew when his children were baptized Christian, he has ignited the threat of war again in the Middle East. The surrounding countries of Israel are aligning with Russia. Even Knesset Member Itamar Ben-Gvir entered the Temple Mount on Israel’s 74th Independence Day and declared: “The time has come to build a Jewish synagogue on the Temple Mount.” The argument is that the Jewish people are compelled to rebuild the Temple on the very spot of the Dome of the Rock on Temple Mount. The supporters of that point to: “And let them make Me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them” (Exodus 25:8). Obviously, Zelensky has destabilized the world much more than people realize.

No doubt, this will conjure up those who will be writing about the poem from the classic movie – The Omen. It certainly looks like there will be those who will start to look at Zelensky a whole lot differently. The one thing for certain is he has certainly played his part well acting out this world leader to get the ball rolling. Is Zelensky really the Manchurian Candidate to lead the entire globe into World War III? There are voices rising such as Brazil’s Lula saying Zelenskiy is “As Responsible as Putin” for Ukraine War.

The Neocon Bill Kristol was advocating the overthrow and the various leaders in the Middle East under the theory that introducing Democracy would ultimately provide security for Israel. This same theory that taking out Putin and the Russians will cheer us with open arms. That failed in the Middle East, and it will fail in both Russia and China. The propaganda is creating hatred of the Russian and Chinese people to sell this war to the American and Europeans has internal civil consequences just as the Japanese internment camps of WWII. This hatred the Neocons have created against Putin with Xi to follow, can not be confined to exclusively their leaders. Yes, Bill Kristol spoke at one of our WEC’s back in the early ’90s. As always, I seem to have encountered all the players in this game of world denomination right down to shaking hands with Schwab.

Don’t Divert Your Attention to Roe v. Wade

Armstrong Economics Blog/USA Current Events Re-Posted May 6, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

A coming Supreme Court ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade was secretly “leaked.” Uncoincidentally, the news came right before the 2022 US midterm elections. Everyone is understandably up in arms after Biden formed a Disinformation Governance Board to become the ultimate authority for what we may believe is true. Most Americans want Biden out of office, with only 37% saying he should run for re-election.

The fake plight to save the people of Ukraine was not enough to garner Democratic support. The virtue-signaling appealed to the left at first, until Biden handed Ukraine billions of dollars and dismissed his campaign promise to forgive student debt. The COVID power grab has loosened from Biden’s grip, and his approval numbers have been steadily declining.

Abortion has been a hot topic since Roe v. Wade permitted the practice in 1973. The same people who are shouting, “MY BODY, MY CHOICE!” did not feel that way when the government wanted to mandate experimental vaccines. They were OK with countless people losing their jobs and lives because the government knew what was best for our health, and we had a moral obligation to obey. They claim Roe v. Wade protects women but are attempting to eliminate women from our society.

The latest Supreme Court Justice Kentanji Jackson said she could not define a “woman” as she is not a biologist. Biden actually banned the word “mothers” as femininity is offensive to the far left. Instead, we are supposed to call them “birthing people” since the woke community maintains that men can give birth. Apple even added pregnant men emojis to its platform.

Not to be outdone, the US is #1 for infant mortality among developed nations. Do you know the leading cause of death for “birthing people” in the US? HOMICIDEMore women die in this country from homicide than from pregnancy or birthing complications. Black women in particular are three times as likely to die from homicide while pregnant. Men are almost always the culprit.

Yet, no one sees gender or these very alarming issues. Women are no longer protected in this country; Roe v. Wade is not the issue. How can we protect women when we deny their existence?

CNN Abortion Poll Backfires, Ultimately No Opinions Moved by SCOTUS Leak

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on May 6, 2022 | Sundance

CNN contracted for an urgent poll of voters [Article Here] to gauge the anticipated enthusiasm bump that Democrats were expecting for the mid-term elections. [SEE POLL pdf HERE] However, unfortunately for the wide-eyed narrative engineers expecting the stratospheric shift in support…. the results show no one really cares.  LOL

The results from the poll show despite about a 50/50 split in response to the question about have you heard of the SCOTUS decision to overturn Roe v Wade, there was almost no statistical change in voter opinion from prior polling.

More depressingly for the leftists in media, when it comes to enthusiasm about voting in the mid-terms because of this issue, the enthusiastic crowd is the pro-life happy people. The registered voters who would be grumpy or angry was 20%.  The registered voters who would be happy or joyful was 38%.  Whoops.  But wait, it gets better….

When you compare the results of the internal questions to the last time they were asked, there’s no difference in response.  This issue is such a predetermined opinion, that virtually nothing around it changes.

CNN has sad.   See video below (prompted):

.

The net takeaway is a big nothingburger.  No one cares.   [See Poll pdf Here]
