President Trump Impromptu Presser Departing The White House – Video and Quotes…

Chopper pressers are the best pressers. Departing the White House for Tulsa, Oklahoma, President Trump paused to answer a few questions from the assembled press pool:

.

[Partial Quotes] –  On US Attorney Berman firing :

“That’s all up to the attorney general. Attorney General Barr is working on that. That’s his department, not my department. But we have a very capable attorney general, so that’s really up to him. I’m not involved.”

On judge’s ruling re John Bolton book:

POTUS said the judge was “very powerful in his statements on classified information and very powerful also on the fact that the country will get the money — any money he makes. So I hope a lot of books — uh, well, I probably shouldn’t hope that but whatever he makes, he’s going to be giving back. … I think judge was very smart and very indignant at what Bolton did. It was a great ruling. Obviously, the book was already out. It leaked and everything else. But he leaked classified information so he’s got a big problem.”

On Tulsa rally:

“The event in Oklahoma is unbelievable. The crowds are unbelievable. They haven’t seen anything like it. We will go there now. We’ll give a hopefully good speech, see a lot of great people, a lot of great friends.”

On India and China border dispute:

”It’s a very tough situation. We’re talking to India. We’re talking to China. They’ve got a big problem there. They’ve come to blows and we’ll see what happens. We’ll try and help them out.”

WHITE HOUSE STATEMENT –  The United States District Court for the District of Columbia today vindicated the Government’s claims against former National Security Adviser John Bolton, ruling that “Bolton likely jeopardized national security by disclosing classified information in violation of his nondisclosure agreement obligations.”

The court rightly chastised Bolton for treating as “intolerable” a review process for his book that the court believed was “reasonable.” As the court explained, “Bolton has gambled with the national security of the United States,” hoping to secure profits by violating his nondisclosure agreements. But Bolton bet wrong, and the downside of his losing bet is that he “stands to lose his profits from the book deal, exposes himself to criminal liability, and imperils national security.”

The court denied the Government’s request for an injunction solely because Bolton’s wrongful conduct—carried out in secret—had already ensured that the book was so widely disseminated that the court believed it could no longer grant an effective remedy.

The Government intends to hold Bolton to the further requirements of his agreements and to ensure that he receives no profits from his shameful decision to place his desire for money and attention ahead of his obligations to protect national security. (LINK)

AG Bill Barr Responds to Berman: President Trump Fired You Effective Today – UPDATE Berman Responds: “I’m Leaving”…

Attorney General Bill Barr responds to SDNY U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman who announced his refusal to leave his position last night:

…”Because you have declared that you have no intention of resigning, I have asked the President to remove you as of today, and he has done so.”…

Shorthand: You’re fired.

As we noted last night all the right resistance members have gone bananas. However, despite all the pearl-clutching, there’s no doubt in my mind Barr has this well in hand.

UPDATE 6:30pm ET: Geoffrey Berman Responds:

Common sense would tell us the attorney general knows House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler is attempting to have him impeached.  AG Bill Barr would not make any controversial personnel move -that provides Nadler ammunition- without having every angle of the removal covered.

First Review The Backstory –  Next step, remember there is a ton of background material around these moves that connects to a much larger DOJ review.  CTH has written some of the aspects on a TWITTER THREAD HERE, I’m not going to go too deep again.

Out of an abundance of caution; and knowing there are resistance members who review CTH analysis; CTH is not going to get too specific about the most likely strategy AG Bill Barr is using here.  However, that said,… and with some cautious optimism to enhance my professional skepticism,… there is a clear play at the front of these moves.

How was AG Bill Barr ever going to bring the background DOJ material to the forefront?

How does the AG present material to the public when he knows the resistance agenda is going to be to frame him as being politically motivated?

AG Barr knows the motive of Nadler is to diffuse the damning material from the DOJ investigation by shouting that Bill Barr is doing the bidding of President Trump.

Traditional approaches will not work in this highly partisan era.  Even the most stunning evidence of prior DOJ/FBI politicization and misconduct will be obfuscated by media around the Nadler narrative.   Taking the initiative to hold a press conference, to release investigative findings, will not work.

AG Barr needs a mechanism to bring the material to the public square.

AG Barr needs the initiative to originate within the opposition.

There’s no better mechanism than by using the Br’er Rabbit approach…. “don’t throw me into the briar patch” etc.

The AG can, likely has, achieved this mechanism by baiting Democrats and media into framing him as being political.  Reacting to the demands, Barr then releases his investigative findings as an outcome of accusations against him; while simultaneously saying it wasn’t his idea to bring this stuff to the surface, but he is being forced to by the false narrative(s) framed to impugn his motive.

This approach captures the attention of the public and positions political and media opposition in a way they can’t accuse Barr of improper motive because it is their claims and accusations that have driven the need for sunlight.  The opposition are the initiators.

The Democrats and Media will have thrown Br’er Barr into the briar patch, and now Barr is forced to explain all of the background material so that everyone can understand.

In combination with a series of DOJ and FBI personnel moves that are timed to conclude on Friday, July 3rd,… Barr has a previously scheduled interview with Maria Bartiromo tomorrow, Sunday June 21.

The Friday night removal of SDNY Geoffrey Berman, appears timed to ignite exactly what has taken place in the last 24 hours… and the pre-scheduled interview looks purposeful.

Murder in The Lawless Seattle Autonomous Zone – Police Blocked From Responding After Two People Shot in CHAZ/CHOP, One Killed…

After two people were shot the responding police and paramedics were blocked by the lawless occupying mob.  One of the people died; the other was taken to the hospital by occupiers. Obviously, the autonomous zone has become a severe danger to those within it.

Capitol Hill Seattle has the very disturbing story: “Seattle Police have confirmed CHS’s early reports on the shooting and say that a 19-year-old is dead and that there have been no arrests:”

On June 20th, at approximately 2:30 AM, East Precinct officers responded to a report of shots fired in Cal Anderson Park. This is inside the area referred to as the Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP). Officers attempted to locate a shooting victim but were met by a violent crowd that prevented officers safe access to the victims. Officers were later informed that the victims, both males, had been transported to Harborview Medical Center by CHOP medics.

Officers responded to Harborview and were informed that one of the victims, a 19-year-old male, had died from injuries. The other victim, also a male, unknown age, remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The suspect or suspect(s) fled and are still at large. There is no description at this time. Homicide detectives responded and are conducting a thorough investigation, despite the challenges presented by the circumstances.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in gathering evidence. Anyone with information about the shooting or who may have video from the incident is asked to contact the Seattle Police Department’s Violent Crime tip line at (206) 233-5000.

Multiple people reported hearing three to six gunshots from the area of 10th and Pine around 2:20 AM. Police radio updates described people seen fleeing to the north on 11th from Pine and through Cal Anderson.

One victim was reported undergoing CPR in front of the Rancho Bravo restaurant at 10th and Pine before he was transported to Harborview by the protest camp medical volunteers. According to Seattle Police radio updates the man was dead when he arrived at Harborview.  (more)

Hypocritical UN Human Rights Council Members Exploit George Floyd Killing

The United States certainly does not need the advice of UN bureaucrats, unaccountable globalist forums or mouthpieces representing psychotic dictatorships

Hypocritical UN Human Rights Council Members Exploit George Floyd Killing

The dysfunctional United Nations Human Rights Council, which the United States exited for good reason two years ago, is exploiting the tragic killing of George Floyd. The Council decided to hold a U.S. bashing fest entitled “Urgent debate on systemic racism and police brutality in the United States.” The debate, which concluded on June 18th, followed on the heels of a harsh anti-American statement issued by the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. That statement denounced the United States for alleged “systemic and structural discrimination” which “disproportionately promotes racial disparities against African Americans.” It called for the United States to make what would amount to a public confession of the alleged “existence of structural racial discrimination” in American society.

United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet

United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet said, after referencing George Floyd’s killing specifically, that it was “necessary to make amends for centuries of violence and discrimination, including through formal apologies, truth-telling processes, and reparations in various forms.”

UN Special Rapporteur E. Tendayi Achiume urged the Human Rights Council to create a UN Commission of Inquiry on Systemic Racism and Law Enforcement in the United States, which was also advocated by the UN Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent and anti-American so-called human rights groups.

The UN Human Right Council’s “urgent debate” was requested by Burkina Faso on behalf of over 50 African countries. “The tragic events of 25 May in Minneapolis in the US which led to the death of George Floyd led to protests throughout the world against injustice and police brutality that persons of African descent face on a daily basis in many regions of the world,” Dieudonné W. Désiré Sougouri, Permanent Representative of Burkina Faso, said in a statement. Why, Mr. Sougouri, were you and the world silent about police brutality in your own country when Burkina Faso’s security forces allegedly executed 31 unarmed detainees on April 9, 2020 in the northern town of Djibo?

George Floyd’s brother, Philonise Floyd, asked the Council members for their help to “get justice for my brother George Floyd.” He told them via video, “You in the United Nations are your brothers and sisters’ keepers in America, and you have the power to help us.” If George Floyd’s brother is seeking justice for his brother from the UN Human Rights Council, he will be sorely disappointed. Members of the Human Rights Council who are the most vociferous in railing against the United States are among the world’s worst serial human rights abusers. Current non-member dictatorships Iran, North Korea, and China, equipped with plenty of experience in killing, torturing and imprisoning their own citizens at will, added their voices to the Council’s open debate targeting the United States.

In a statement delivered to the United Nations Human Rights Council on June 16, 2020 by Hillel Neuer, the executive director of the Geneva-based independent human rights group UN Watch, Mr. Neuer cited several examples of African members of the Council with horrendous records of racism and oppression. Yet these countries dare to sit in judgment of the United States.

Yet these countries dare to sit in judgment of the United States

Mauritania, Mr. Neuer pointed out, has “an estimated 500,000 black slaves, with CNN referring to Mauritania as ‘slavery’s last stronghold.’”

Libya, Mr. Neuer said, “subjects up to a million African migrants to virtual slavery—trapped in a terrifying cycle of extortion, imprisonment, forced labor and prostitution,” while Cameroon “crushes protests by the English-speaking population, and has committed atrocities, including massacring civilians, rape, and burning villages.” The Democratic Republic of Congo’s “police just 2 months ago killed 55 people, in a coordinated crackdown on a religious sect,” Mr. Neuer added.

Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesman for the Secretary-General, was asked at a press briefing on June 17th how the opinions on police brutality in the United States by the likes of Venezuela and other Council members with atrocious human rights records can be taken seriously. Haq replied with the moral obtuseness of the typical UN bureaucrat that “there’s no rule that says that, in order to take issues seriously, we must ourselves be perfect.” He added, “In order to deal with these issues, we ourselves have to take a critical look and a hard look at what each country does.”

The United States does not claim to be perfect. No human being is perfect. However, the direction of U.S. history is towards creating a more inclusive society with equal opportunity and the equal protection of the law for all. The United States is dealing directly and openly with its past and present shortcomings. It is directly addressing race relations and police misconduct today, with remedial steps being taken at the federal, state and local levels. “We call upon all governments to demonstrate the same level of transparency and accountability that the U.S. and our democratic partners practice,” said the U.S. ambassador in Geneva, Andrew Bremberg.

The United States certainly does not need the advice of UN bureaucrats, unaccountable globalist forums or mouthpieces representing psychotic dictatorships.
