Sunspot & Climate Change

QUESTION: If there are no sunspots, then why do we have the heatwave this summer. What were the sunspots in the heatwave of 1937?
Seems like there is no correlation between sunspots and temperature?
CM

ANSWER: Everything is far more complex than a single relationship. The lack of sunspots relates to the historical evidence that there was a period of nearly 100 years where there was very little sunspot activity, at one point reaching zero activity, which took place ONLY during Ice Ages.

What you are missing is the volatility. We are entering a period that is extremely volatile so we will have a hot summer followed by an extremely cold winter. The swings become more extreme. As I have stated, there is no indication that we are headed toward an Ice Age with a prolonged lack of sunspot activity.

We should only be making a RETEST of the Ice Age lows and not new lows (I personally hope). You are still looking at this with a single-dimensional analysis. You must realize that this is far more complex and a single hot August does not mean there is global warming that humans have created. There is one thing that the historical evidence illustrates that the global warming crowd will NEVERaddress. The climate has ALWAYS changed — it is cyclical!!!!!!!!!!! This is the same nonsense of looking for the mythical short position that makes a market crash, even though every investigation has never found one even once!

Keep in mind that a Solar Minimum does not mean that the sun gets colder but rather it changes. As sunspots fade away, we enter a Solar Minimum. The sun is heading toward a Solar Minimum now and the sunspot counts are collapsing. While intense activity such as sunspots and solar flares subside during a Solar Minimum, the solar activity changes form.

During a Solar Minimum, the sun develops coronal holes. These are vast regions in the sun’s atmosphere where the sun’s magnetic field opens up. This then allows streams of solar particles to escape the sun as the fast solar wind.

These holes throughout the solar cycle during a Solar Minimum can last for a very long time, even up to six months or more. Streams of this solar wind flowing from these coronal holes create space weather effects near Earth as they hit our magnetic field. These effects can include temporary disturbances called geomagnetic storms, auroras, and disruptions to communications and navigation systems. These are the effects of a Solar Minimum. These effects in the Earth’s upper atmosphere impact satellites in low Earth orbit as well. However, on our computer, they also correlate to these periods of an increase in volcanoes and earthquakes.

There are a number of scientific papers that are investigating the rise in earthquakes and volcanic activity that correlates to a Solar Minimum. This is an area that warrants serious study. All I can do is report, “Hey, there is a correlation here that is interesting.” What we have done is input everything and correlate markets, economies, weather, climate, etc. to look for patterns to try to understand what makes the world tick. I never begin with a theory and try to prove it. Just let the data speak for itself. You will NOT find a single global warming paper that has EVER addressed the issue with any historical analysis beyond 1850 to support their argument.

Lenox Air Conditioner Manufacturer Cites Colder Temperatures for Decline in Sales

Despite all the global warming advocates, the air conditioner manufacturer Lenox came in well below Wall Street’s expectations, which were based on the claims running around that have now reached the level of a religion. Their earnings fell by about 9%. The CEO came out and made a statement with respect to sales decline:

Significantly cooler temperatures and higher precipitation across the United States adversely impacted the HVAC market in the second quarter, and especially in key Central regions where cooling degree days were down over 30% and precipitation was up over 60%.”

Climate Change Has been a Routine Scare Tactic Since the 1930s

QUESTION: Is there a pattern?

C

ANSWER: For whatever reason, these people have been promoting that the cities will all sink and we are the cause of it all. They have been touting this scenario since the 1930s when there was the Dust Bowl. It resurfaced after World War II when they were trying to stop rebuilding industry and the housing market which had been destroyed. The same argument appeared again in the 1960s when there was a great expansion in housing.

However, during the 1970s when things got colder, everything flipped upside down and then it was global cooling that would destroy civilization. On April 28, 1975, Newsweek magazine published an article in which they sounded the alarm bell and proposed solutions to deliberately melt the ice caps:

“Climatologists are pessimistic that political leaders will take any positive action to compensate for the climatic change, or even to allay its effects. They concede that some of the more spectacular solutions proposed, such as melting the arctic ice cap by covering it with black soot or diverting arctic rivers, might create problems far greater than those they solve. But the scientists see few signs that government leaders anywhere are even prepared to take the simple measures of stockpiling food or of introducing variables of climate uncertainty into economic projections of future food supplies.”

Then TIME magazine’s January 31, 1977 edition had the cover story featuring “The Big Freeze.” They reported that scientists were predicting that Earth’s average temperature could drop by 20 degrees fahrenheit. Their cited cause was, of course, that humans created global cooling. It just seems that humans are so powerful we can alter the universe but cannot manage to create corrupt-free governments.

The difference this time is they have been able to get governments interested on the basis that they can stop it by raising taxes. Canada imposed a $1,000 tax per home to stop global warming. Perhaps the theory is if the politicians get more money they will speak less and reduce the hot air they spout out by yelling the end is near.

I see this as a derivative of the Populationists theory which was instituted by Thomas Robert Malthus (1766-1834). It was Malthus who first published his “Essay on the Principle of Population as it Affects the Future Improvement of Society” in 1798. He published it anonymously, afraid to put his name on it, but he was soon discovered to be the author. Malthus argued that the resources of production would be exceeded by the population leading to real misery.

Malthus’ theory proved to be completely wrong because he too failed to comprehend that there are cycles to everything. He never considered the cycle in technology and how farming has improved from ancient times up to his own time during the 18th century. Of course, food production has more than kept pace with population growth and even the population goes through cycles. Currently, birth rates have been declining. Then there are diseases and plagues that visit our societies, not to mention war, which all combines to thin the herd so to speak.

The climate has ALWAYS moved cyclically. Anyone who dares to argue that climate change is NOTcaused by humans is ridiculed because this is a political issue being used to raise taxes and to regulate human activity by removing ever-greater proportions of our human rights and freedom. Those who attack anyone who denies human-induced climate change are either brainwashed or have a self-interest in the entire scam

Erasing America’s Hot Past

Real Climate Science Erasing Americas Hot past

http://www.realclimatescience.com/erasing-americas-hot-past/

The US used to have many very hot summers, with the worst being 1936. Watch this presentation on Real Climate Science and learn what the government is doing with the data. I have personalty review the same data that was used here and I agree 100% with the conclusions. The planet has gotten warmer which is not surprise as if you live long enough you will experience cool periods and warm periods and we are in the end of a warm period. It will coon be getting cooler and the planet will not melt.

Green Tyranny: Exposing the Totalitarian Roots of the Climate Industrial Complex

Climate change was political long before Al Gore first started talking about it. In Green Tyranny, Rupert Darwall traces the alarming origins of the green agenda, revealing how environmental scares have been deployed by our global rivals as a political instrument to contest American power around the world

AOC: Stop Reproducing – Save the World

Stop Reproducing – Save the World

Let’s prevent climate change, a naturally occurring cyclical phenomenon, by not having families. The proposition sounds like a dystopian nightmare out of Orwell’s “1984,” but it’s now the latest suggestion of “progressive” NY Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

“Our planet is going to hit disaster if we don’t turn this ship around and so it’s basically like, there’s a scientific consensus that the lives of children are going to be very difficult. And it does lead, I think, young people to have a legitimate question, you know, “Is it okay to still have children?’” AOC actually said aloud in front of reporters.

The factual “scientific consensus” declares climate change to be a completely normal, naturally occurring event. Worsening matters, the CDC reported that birth rate levels in the U.S. are at an all-time low.

Countries such as Japan and China are begging their citizens to reproduce and create a future workforce. Here in the U.S., our dreadfully misinformed politicians have the audacity to ask citizens to stop reproducing altogether. Propositioning climate change as an ethical dilemma is a new low for politicians, proving that they will do anything for votes and taxes.

The family dynamic has already been destroyed by politicians. It is no longer possible for most mothers to stay at home as two incomes are needed to pay for living expenses. Children leave home earlier and move out to the cities in search of employment. Before they even enter the workforce, most young people are buried in student debt that they can never repay even in the event of bankruptcy thanks to the Clintons repealing Glass-Stegall. Millennials can barely afford to buy homes, marry, or have children. The elderly must rely on a failing medical system for support instead of their families. How much longer will we allow politicians to destroy our quality of life? The real ethical dilemma facing future generations lies in the unprecedented powers of politicians who are willing to destroy our future for their own self-interests.

Let’s hope she does not reproduce

Global Warming is Undermined by New Discoveries

Nobody wants to listen to the evidence against Global Warming because the government doesn’t hand out money for research that fails to justify new taxes. Real scientists have just discovered a massive previously unknown source of nitrogen that could turn the Global Warming nonsense on its head. My bet is that it will be ignored. There is too much money on the table to just walk away.

This new discovery may dramatically change those dire global warming forecasts that are now a religion. The findings were published in the prestigious Journal Science, whereby the previous eco-science assumed the only source of nitrogen was the atmosphere. Scientists recently discovered that the planet holds vast storehouses of nitrogen, which is essential for plant life, in its bedrock.

This new discovery alters the entire theory behind Global Warming caused by humans. The University of California at Davis environmental scientist and co-author of the study, Ben Houlton, said, “This runs counter the centuries-long paradigm that has laid the foundation for the environmental sciences.”

Now, pay very close attention to the word “paradigm” which he is using. Clearly, if Houlton’s discovery of a vast storehouse of nitrogen is correct, then it would have an enormous impact on global warming predictions. Why?

Climate scientists have long known that plants offset some of the effects of climate change by absorbing and storing CO2. But climate scientists assumed that the ability for plants to perform this function was limited because the availability of nitrogen in the atmosphere was limited.

A 2003 study published in the same science journal stated, “There will not be enough nitrogen available to sustain the high carbon uptake scenarios.” You see scientists who have NOT been on the payroll for Global Warming understand this is all nonsense. Ronald Amundson, a soil biogeochemist at the University of California at Berkeley, publicly told Chemical and Engineering News that “If there is more nitrogen there than expected, then the constraints on plant growth in a high-CO2 world may not be as great as we think.”

Remember high school science class? Remember that with more nitrogen available, then plant life will still grow? And guess what, they absorb more CO2 than climate scientists have been estimating. That means the dire forecasts that we have 12 years to live being championed by AOC and the Democrats are completely inaccurate. The planet won’t warm as much with plant life absorbing the CO2 mankind pumps into the atmosphere.

Nevertheless, because this field of research is not under global warming grants, we should not expect this information to ever make it to the mainstream media

Do We Face Global Cooling or an Ice Age?

QUESTION #1: You expect global cooling due to the decrease in solar energy. Why do glaciers melt?

MG

QUESTION #2: Now that the Greenland Glacier is growing, is this part of the shift back toward global cooling? Do you think we are headed to an ice age?

FH

ANSWER: There appears to be a 20-year cycle in the Arctic to begin with. The mere fact that at times the Northwest Passage has been ice-free and ice blocked proves there is a cycle to absolutely everything. The Arctic has not always been frozen. There are documented accounts from 1817 when the ice melted. The point is nature functions in a cyclical manner — hello, remember four seasons?

I do NOT believe we are heading into an “Ice Age” of such a dramatic duration. All the data clearly shows that we are in a declining trend with each warming peak being less than the former. Anyone who thinks humans have caused this last warming period just listens to propaganda and ignores all the historical evidence. There is ABSOLUTELY no period in history absent of a cycle — NONE!!!!

From an objective and unbiased view, yes, we will see a cooling period. However, this will most likely be just a retest of the last low of the Little Ice Age. I would not speculate on an Ice Age coming, just a swing downward in temperature enough to cause us a lot of inconveniences.

The Greenland Glacier is growing again at the edges because the water is colder. That seems to be in line with the downturn in the energy output of the sun since 2015. The global cooling puts food production at risk. Sure, there are those who just refuse to believe this since global warming has become a religion. The herd may be thinned for their propaganda will ensure they are unprepared for food shortages.

Constantly there are stories about how the data has been manipulated and outright forged. Now China’s scientists have come out and warned of global cooling, not warming. These scientists are not reliant on Western government grants and do not need to fix the data to support the global warming agenda.

The problem with the people who refuse to listen is a similar qualification for being the worst investor in history. You can claim you are right all you want, but when the market goes against you and you refuse the look at your assumptions, you end up dead broke. Perhaps literally after jumping from a window. That is the downside to bias. Always consider both sides.

Heatwaves Are Serious Only on a Sustained Basis

COMMENT: Hi Martin,
I thought you might be interested in some comments on Climate Change.
My wife has a dear friend 87 years old who lived (and still does) in Wellington County, Southern Ontario. She sent some comments on the current heatwave.
“The heatwave last week made me think of the many times my parents talked about the 1936 heatwave that went on for days. My sister was a baby of about 10 months and she would turn beet red. They kept her cool with wet clothes. I vaguely remember sleeping on mattresses on the front lawn. There was no electricity on the outlying farms. The fruit cooked on the vines and trees. The crops dried up. In Toronto, it was 103 and lasted for 8 days. It is not likely that too many people had fans, just coming out of the dirty depression. So I guess we should not complain.”
Thanks. Always enjoy your comments.

JC

REPLY: The environmentalists point to a weekend heatwave as proof of global warming, and therefore we all must stop driving cars. We are nowhere near historical records and your account of what took place back then is overlooked by the global warming crowd who are so desperate to end industrialization. A heatwave is dangerous when, as in the 1930s, there is a sustained period that lasts much longer than a weekend.

11:00pm Hurricane Update – Dorian Gains Strength Entering Atlantic – Florida Declares Proactive State of Emergency…

Prep suggestions follow update. At 11:00pm EST (0300 UTC), the center of Hurricane Dorian was located near latitude 19.7 North, longitude 66.0 West. Dorian is moving toward the northwest near 13 mph (20 km/h), and this general motion is expected to continue through Friday. [National Hurricane Center]

On this track, Dorian should move over the Atlantic well east of the southeastern and central Bahamas on Thursday and Friday.  Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 85 mph (140 km/h) with higher gusts. Dorian is forecast to strengthen into a powerful hurricane during the next couple of days (more).

For those in the cone of uncertainty; remember, planning and proactive measures taken now can significantly reduce stress in the days ahead.  Plan when to make the best decision on any evacuation (if needed) consider Friday night the decision time-frame. As a general rule: take cover from wind – but evacuate away from water.

DAY ONE (Today, Thursday)

  • Determine Your Risk
  • Make a Written Plan
  • Develop and Evacuation Plan
  • Inventory hurricane/storm supplies.
  • Withdraw cash based on plan/need.

DAY TWO (Friday)

  • Get Storm Update
  • Assemble and Purchase Hurricane Supplies
  • Contact Insurance Company – Updates
  • Secure Important Papers.
  • Strengthen and Secure Your Home
  • Make Evacuation Decision for your Family.
  • Fill freezer with 3/4 full water jugs.

DAY THREE (Saturday)

  • Get Storm Update
  • Re-Evaluate your Supplies based on storm update
  • Finish last minute preparation
  • Plan for THREE DAYS without power
  • Assist Your Neighbors
  • If Needed – Evacuate Your Family

Communication is important.  Update your friends and family contact list. Stay in touch with family and friends, let them know your plans. Select a single point of contact for communication from you that all others can then contact for updates if needed.

Today/tomorrow are good days to organize your important papers, insurance forms, personal papers and place them in one ‘ready-to-go’ location.

Evaluate your personal hurricane and storm supplies; update and replace anything you might have used. Assess, modify and/or update any possible evacuation plans based on your location, and/or any changes to your family status.  Fill car with gasoline. Review prescriptions, refill if needed.

Check your shutters and window coverings; test your generator; re-organize and familiarize yourself with all of your supplies and hardware. Check batteries in portable tools; locate tools you might need; walk your property to consider what you may need to do based on the storms path. All decisions are yours. You are in control.

Consider travel plans based on roads and traffic density. Being proactive now helps to keep any future stress level low. You are in control. If you have pets, additional plans may be needed.

One possible proactive measure is to make a list of hotels further inland that you would consider evacuating to.  Make that list today and follow updates of the storms’ progress; make reservations tonight/tomorrow if determined.

Depending on information tomorrow you might call in advance and make a reservation; you can always cancel if not needed.  It is better to have a secondary evacuation place established in advance.  Being proactive reduces stress.  Even if you wait until much later to cancel, it is better to pay a cancellation fee (usually one night charge) than to not have a plan on where to go.   Trust me, it’s worth it.  Protect your family. Make the list of possibilities today, make the booking decision in the next 24 hrs.
