Need More Winnamins !!
South Carolina Representative Mark Sanford has been defeated by primary challenger Katie Arrington for the SC District-01 race. Sanford was an unhinged critic of Donald Trump in 2016 and continued his opposition against President Trump in 2017 and 2018.
Earlier today President Trump tweeted support for Sanford’s challenger Ms. Katie Arrington. As of 12:15am with around 99% of the vote Arrington has defeated Sanford by approximately 4 points (51/47): [SC Vote Link Here]
Understanding the reality of his position Mark Sanford conceded defeat early.
California Become 3rd Largest State with More People leaving than Migrating to the State
Armstrong Economics Blog/The Hunt for Taxes
Re-Posted Jun 13, 2018 by Martin Armstrong
California has beaten Illinois for net outmigration from the state. California has become one state that there are more people trying to get out than moving into it. So while California wants to protect illegal aliens and fight with the Federal government over sanctuary cities contrary to the Constitutional Supremacy Clause, according to a November report from the U.S Census Bureau, the Golden State has had 142,932 residents exit the state. This domestic outmigration has been the second largest outflow in the USA behind only New York and New Jersey. The net outmigration from California jumped up 11% compared to 2015
The Cost of Labor is What Drives the Move to Robots

QUESTION: Hi Marty,
Two questions:
1. When the Canadians said they never look at “those things,” what “things” are they talking about?
2. I always like lowering taxes, if the remaining revenue will be spent wisely. (In our dreams). But as a lawyer in the Austin area, I can assure you that manufacturing by some of my high tech clients has been outsourced to Asia on several occasions, when I gave them the 30 minute presentation on the regulatory crap they would need to grind through before hiring even one worker, or even breaking ground on a facility. “Or”, as I have told them for decades, “You can go through your “Rolodex”, and call somebody you know in [Asia]. In six weeks product will be on the way, and you know it.”
It isn’t just taxing, Marty. We have desirable pollution control laws, worker safety laws, safer roads, safer water and food, cleaner air, more health care, (which may not mean “better health care”,) better housing, more cars, consumer protection, rule of law, sometimes, etc. These things cost money, and since we are stuck with dollars, politicians and industrialists have sold our future overseas, for short-term gains.
It is a familiar issue in Texas, where Mexican and other illegal workers rent cheap houses and hot bunk up to 30 people in a three bedroom modest house, sending most of their pay home, until they can get an anchor baby and go on the free-stuff-for-kids rides our governments have created. Meanwhile, working-class Texans can’t afford a tiny house in a bad neighborhood, in Austin Metro and other areas. Much less health care, insurance etc. They compete, head to head with the aforesaid illegals.
On the macro scale, how does say, Dell, return manufacturing to America, when they are paying 10% of the labor cost, probably 20% of the regulatory cost, almost no legal costs, de minimus pollution abatement costs and no workers’ compensation, by comparison, etc.? I don’t see how tax cuts can stop that imbalance. Yet we have hundreds of millions of fellow citizens who are over a barrel and need more and higher paying jobs. I know a guy with a wife and two kids who were supporting them on one wage and good money management but left the St. Louis area due to social meltdown. Came to a suburb of Austin, got a job at a grocery store, living with parents, and then realized, after saving a grubstake, that his wages cannot rent a crappy 2 bedroom house in a bad neighborhood, with more than $200 a month left over.
Their solution? Move to an even cheaper state – Florida. We’ll see.
ANSWER: The scenarios that people make up as to what central banks make their decisions on are the headlines in the press – inflation & jobs normally. The inflation indexes have been so manipulated that they will NEVER reach the 15-20% level of the 1980s. Back then, they included real estate which was 40%. That was removed because they determined it was an “asset” and not really cost of living so it was replaced with rents and then they more often used urban rents that were controlled. You have to understand that the entire budget and social programs were indexed to the CPI. So, the NUMBER ONE way to reduce deficits was to reduce the CPI index so politicians did not have to vote to cut programs and suffer the arrows launched by the public.
The Federal Reserve is prone to raise interest rates regardless of the economic data because they have been manipulated too low and has set in motion a crisis in pensions. On the other hand, raising rates too fast blows the deficits out since governments are the relentless and biggest borrowing in the economy. It is just not plain-vanilla management as people portray. There are far more serious issues including capital flows which they are all now finally beginning to take notice.
On Part-II, you are absolutely correct. The biggest cost of labor is NOT the actual wage paid to an employee. It is the benefits, taxes, and regulatory costs. As I said before, when I was restructuring major multinational companies to cope with the birth of the Euro, those who needed skilled labor I place in Britain, not Germany. The cost that an employee never sees was 40% less in Britain compared to Germany. I was called in urgently by a major company who had a branch in Germany. I was asked to come to the board meeting the next day and was not even briefed in advance what was the crisis. When I got there, they appoint me advisor to the pension fund and then most of the board resigned. I asked what was going on? They wanted to lay-off 25% of the workforce and the Germany government finally agreed. At the last minute, they instructed the company that they COULD NOT pick and choose who to lay-off. They had to offer 100,000 to give up their job “willing” no less. Everyone who knew they could get another job took the 100k and left. The very people they wanted to get rid of stayed. That was how regulators screwed up companies. I encountered the same stupid policy in Grece.
The higher the tax burden, the lower the standard of living. The tithe was an obligatory offering from the law of Moses requiring 10 percent of an Israelite’s firstfruits. We are so far beyond that it is destroying our civilization. As you can see we take the total consumption of government as a percent of GDP. There is just no end in sight. The USA economy is doing far better than Europe as a whole simply because we are at 37.6% of GDP compared to the insanity of France where Communism began – 56.7%. Among the states in the USA, we are witnessing major migration from New Yor, New Jersey, California, Illinois, and Connecticut just to mention the top contenders. The people are burdened by the taxes and they do not stop if you try to retire. They want income tax and property taxes when you retire and many people simply cannot afford to live in those states anymore. The tax burden never ends and when you die, they want to pick over your bones.
The development of robots is to simply eliminate the benefits and regulatory costs. The worker sees this as just his hourly wage. But the real costs in far too often 50% of the wage or higher from the company’s perspective. Even the Post Office is hiring part-time to avoid pensions and benefits.
As for shipping off programming to foreign lands, it still requires staff here to monitor them and the end product is rarely 100% acceptable. The communication problems also impact that situation and make it less attractive than what it appears on the surface. It just takes a lot more management from afar.
US East Coast Risk of Tsunami & Earthquakes that Threaten NYC

QUESTION: Hey Marty,
Thanks for all your insight the last few years on what the models are projecting for volcanic & seismic activity. As usual, you’re on the money. The forecast of events laying out to 2032 is really starting to add up in their interconnectivity. God help us all.
My question is regarding the mid-Atlantic ridge and the US East Coast continental shelf faults. We all know you chose Tampa over the Florida Atlantic Coast; should we be concerned about tsunamis & seismic activity along the eastern seaboard?
As always, thanks for everything you do. You’re my hero.
Cheers,
DP
ANSWER: That is actually a very good question. The 10 Biggest Earthquakes in History have ALL taken place around the Pacific Rim of Fire – not in the Atlantic. Ideally, the next big one is interestingly due in 2021. The modern big quakes around the Pacific Rim have been:
- 1906 — San Francisco, California, Magnitude: 8. About 3,000 people died from the earthquake, on the San Andreas Fault, and resulting fire.
- 1923 — Tokyo, Japan, Magnitude: 7.9. One of the world’s most destructive earthquakes, more than 142,000 people died from collapsing buildings and the resulting firestorm. The quake also resulted in enormous tsunami waves.
- 1960 — Chile, Magnitude: 9.5. The largest earthquake ever recorded, the 1960 quake in Chile killed more than 1,600 people, with many of the deaths resulting from tsunamis. Waves reached 38 feet (11.5 meters) and carried debris as far as 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) inland.
- 1970 — Peru, Magnitude: 7.9. Approximately 66,000 people died, many from collapsed buildings and a post-earthquake avalanche.
- 2004 — Indonesia, Magnitude: 9.1. The third largest earthquake in the world in this century, the quake killed more than 227,000 people. Powerful tsunami waves crisscrossed the Indian Ocean and ravaged 12 Asian countries.
- 2011 — Japan, Magnitude: 9.0
When we turn to the Atlantic, there is a different problem altogether. I remember experiencing my first earthquake when I was probably the 4.5 quake of May 12, 1964, that hit Lancaster, Pa. I woke up and first though boy that was a loud train. Then I realized I did not live near a train track. When I came down in the morning the press was all talking about the earthquake that hit the area outside of Philadelphia. That was not in the ocean.
What we must understand about the Mid-Atlantic Ridge is that there may be a greater risk of tsunami events than major earthquakes. The continental slope is the topographic boundary between the continent and the ocean basin. It is a complex feature. What people do not generally understand is that relatively minor earthquakes can set off a tsunami. The greater risks are in the north from Newfound down to just below New Jersey. A relatively minor offshore earthquake of magnitude 4.5 or above could cause submarine avalanches that then generate tsunami events with waves higher than 26 feet (8 meters). The underwater canyons and bays could focus these waves and make them even much larger all from minor events.
Back in 1929, there was a 7.2-magnitude earthquake off the southern coast of Newfoundland that caused a large underwater landslide. It was that landslide that created a large wave that rushed ashore and killed some 28 people on the island. However, the waves were at first about 26 feet high until they reached the narrow inlets. This compressed all the energy causing the tsunami to grow to 43 feet (13 m). That was absolutely devastating.
There is evidence that at least a 12-foot tsunami wave hit Manhattan around 300BC. Geological experts reported that this ancient tsunami dumped sediment, shells and marine fossils across the region inland that date back to 300BC. Tsunami waves are rare events in the Atlantic. One theory is that a New York tsunami may have been triggered by an asteroid. However, no crater has ever been discovered. It is far more likely that an earthquake simply triggered an avalanche.

Historically, New York City has been hit by large earthquakes over the 5 scale about once a century. There was a 5.2-magnitude quake that shook New York City back in 1737 and another of the same severity hit on August 10th, 1884 with tremors being felt from Maine to Virginia. I have been in New York City for at least two earthquakes that I remember. They were minor but enough that you felt them. One I recall was in 1981 and one around 2002. The biggest hit on an 18-year cycle in 2010, but that was only a 3.2 measurement. There is a small fault that runs down 125th Street. That is the one that produced the tremors of 1981. It is also believed that this is the source of the big one that hit in 1737. Curiously, the next big one is due in 2031. That could reach a 7.2 level or so.
If you look at NYC closing, you will notice that the skyscrapers are clustered. This seems to be the most overlooked aspect of New York City with people assuming that it’s just all about Wall Street. Not True! Skyscrapers clearly dominate the Manhattan skyline, but they are actually clustered in two distinct areas. Downtown is home to the Financial District. Midtown includes the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Park Avenue and Times Square. The reason is the surface bedrock over much of New York City provides solid anchorage to support the high buildings. Although there are two areas of this strong bedrock at or close to the surface, there is a valley in between where the building heights are noticeably lower.
In fact, the entire region south of 30th Street is where the bedrock begins to drop down and by the time your reach Washington Square, it is well below the surface. In reality, Manhattan has a valley in the center between midtown and Wall Street that would be underwater if it were not filled in with debris from various periods which may include the ancient tsunami. That is why there are no skyscrapers between the two regions.
Manhattan has NUMEROUS faults running through it and there as frequent earthquake activity on them. However, this activity is very small so people do not notice. However, there may be a risk of a larger scale earthquake that we are unable to define lacking the data before 1700. Still, New York City metropolitan is ranked as moderate on the risk scale. However, because of the density and the age of many buildings constructed of brick, a moderate earthquake would have considerable consequences in terms of public safety and economic impact more so than many other places. A 5.0-magnitude earthquake today like that of 1884 or 1737, would be far more significant given the density and construction concerns.
Therefore, the risk of an offshore earthquake that causes an avalanche on the ridge would produce a tsunami. On the other hand, there are earthquake faults in Manhattan that are numerous and the density combined with poor construction from brick increase the risk to Manhattan with just a 5+ earthquake.
Andrew McCabe Sues Justice Department and Inspector General Over Firing…
In what can only be seen as a dubious political stunt, Andrew McCabe, through his attorney Michael Bromwich, is suing the DOJ and Inspector General for documents relating to his firing. Apparently the 39-page IG report, documenting the reasoning, along with the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) isn’t enough for McCabe.
WASHINGTON DC – Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe filed a lawsuit Tuesday against the FBI, the Justice Department and its inspector general, alleging the Trump administration violated procedures when it fired him in March just hours before his retirement.
The Justice Department cited “lack of candor” for dismissing Mr. McCabe, who had worked at the FBI for more than two decades. The firing upended Mr. McCabe’s ability to collect his benefits and pension.
In the 36-page complaint filed in federal court in Washington, D.C. Tuesday, his attorneys argue the Justice Department is refusing to hand over documents relating to the policies and procedures for Mr. McCabe’s dismissal because it fears further litigation.
“We don’t create or adjudicate under secret law or procedure,” David Snyder, a lawyer for Mr. McCabe, told The Associated Press.
The Justice Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment. (read more)
Here’s the reason McCabe was fired:

Act II – The Dance of The Dragon Continues….
China controls the DPRK, that’s the baseline reality. The question debated over the past several years, has been to what extent? Having witnessed the Singapore Summit, perhaps we now have additional understanding of the scale and scope.
Kim Jong-un “is” the Panda Mask.
If you accept the cunning nature of the Beijing Dragon, and the false geopolitical face of the Panda mask as historically presented by the control elements now represented by Chairman Xi Jinping, a striking probability looms. Not only does China influence North Korea, but China actually controls every element of the North Korean government that surrounds Chairman Kim Jong-un.
The problem for Chairman Xi is what happens when all of the political forces align to place Chairman Kim Jong-un in a position of opening the door for the U.S. and President Trump and the West (writ large) to enter North Korea under the auspices of a CVID nuclear agreement.
In essence, President Trump may now enter into a land where the officials report exclusively to Chairman Xi, and no-one knew. This presents a possibility the larger global community might soon discover the true nature of the Beijing/Pyongyang connection.
Consider that Chairman Kim was/is likely put into power not as a linear out-coming of his familial relationship, but more as a strategy of ongoing Chinese duplicity. Kim Jong-un was seen as easier to control. Consider the possibility that all of the DPRK officials who carry out the objectives of the ruling North Korean government are factually operating according to the dictates of the hidden Chinese authority.
Within this dynamic Chairman Kim received the scorn of the international community; but was -in reality- merely a figurehead, a false panda face – hiding the true authority behind all of the DPRK policy, and a designed strategy constructed by China.
Consider that by confronting the economic interests of China, President Trump fractured the decades-long ruse, and is now positioned to expose the nature of the Chinese ruling authority within North Korea. This becomes a stunning paradigm shift; a reality that few could possibly fathom, unless you consider the cunning of Beijing.
Under this scenario, it is adverse to the interest of China for a united, open and democratic Korean peninsula where the North and South are together again. It would be particularly adverse to Xi’s interests if the U.S., Japan and a united Korea formed any substantive international alliance.
The best play for China would be to control the outcomes of any unification and position China as the control agent for any united Korea. This would be critically important if, as I am now increasingly confident, North Korea was/is actually a proxy province of China and has been for decades under the complete -albeit hidden- rule of the Chinese authority.
Under this scenario, Chairman Xi has to play a very careful game of geopolitical cunning; and if at any moment he sees Chairman Kim accepting the rescue of President Trump, Xi will likely move to eliminate Kim and defend his interests quickly.
Imagine the internal stress upon the young Kim Jong-un who has been forced to ride this dragon for almost a decade, and knows his government is not actually his government but rather a governing body with all officials reporting to Beijing.
Imagine you are the next-door-neighbor to an abused child who lives inside the palace of the abuser. The abuse has been psychological and manipulative upon this child for decades. How do you rescue him? Additionally, how do you rescue him when the ultimate abuser is the king of all communities, governments, political and legal systems in/around the palace?… and only you know the nature of the dynamic….
What if….
Kim has not been victimized by the Panda mask, but rather Kim IS THE Panda mask.
Start there, and proceed with the geopolitical rescue efforts accordingly.
This presented scenario, while challenging the customary perspective, reconciles all of the conflicting aspects to the North Korean regime with the latest known empirical evidence.

PS. Notice how normally POTUS Trump has been effusive of praise upon Xi Jinping. However, after the one-on-one with Chairman Kim, that praise was considerably less….
Robert Mueller Asks Judge To Hide Russian Election Evidence From The Russians Accused of Election Interference…
Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller has taken the concept of the Star Chamber to new levels of dangerous judicial prosecution. In a motion in Washington DC today Mueller’s team scramble to hide their invisible evidence after the people they indicted demand the right to see it.
Everyone who has researched the actual substance behind the heavily promoted Russian indictments knows the underlying claims are centered on the thinnest of evidence. Given the nature of the politicization behind the Mueller investigation, many people even argue there is no actual evidence; it’s a manufactured ruse created only for purpose of advancing a necessary political narrative, an excuse for media column inches and pundit talks.
And there is a great deal of reason to believe the cynics are entirely accurate; particularly when you overlay the series of events that highlight the prosecution never thought anyone would actually show up in court and challenge their claims.
Greasy Bear hackers and Macedonian Bot Farms might sound like a good justification for a prosecution when pitched to an incurious media. However, when Greasy Bear and the accused Macedonian’s show up in court, well, the prosecutors might just have a problem.
That is the backdrop for this latest series of bizarre requests from the Special Prosecutor to seal the evidence against the accused:
BLOOMBERG – […] Mueller asked a federal judge in Washington for an order that would protect the handover of voluminous evidence to lawyers for Concord Management and Consulting LLC, one of three companies and 13 Russian nationals charged in a February indictment. They are accused of producing propaganda, posing as U.S. activists and posting political content on social media as so-called trolls to encourage strife in the U.S.
The threat of public or unauthorized disclosure of evidence would help foreign intelligence services, particularly in Russia, in “future operations against the United States,” Mueller’s prosecutors wrote in a filing Tuesday.
“The substance of the government’s evidence identifies uncharged individuals and entities that the government believes are continuing to engage in interference operations like those charged in the present indictment,” prosecutors wrote.
Improper disclosure would tip foreign intelligence services about how the U.S. operates, which would “allow foreign actors to learn of those techniques and adjust their conduct, thus undermining ongoing and future national security operations,” according to the filing. (read more)
Last month Robert Mueller attempted to get the trial delayed, and the judge rejected the arguments. Now Robert Mueller is attempting to get the judge to hide the mysteriously important evidence he claims to possess that underpins the entire case.
It appears Team Mueller is doing everything they can to avoid admitting there is no ‘there‘ there and this was all a political stunt. Such an admission would essentially destroy the entire Russian Election Interference narrative.
…. And so the saga of the ruse continues. Stay tuned.

Perfect – President Trump Urges South Carolina Voters To Ditch Mark Sanford !…
In a tweet released today, President Trump took aim at #NeverTrump decepticon Mark Sanford:
Rep. Sanford is locked in a tight race against primary challenger Katie Arrington, a state lawmaker and relative newcomer to politics. However, she has rightly called out incumbent Sanford as a “career politician” and notes his consistent criticism of President Trump is a liability.
Polls opened this morning at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. tonight. Voters standing in line when the polls close will still be able to cast a ballot. Get out there and support Katie Arrington.
